@TinaLeigh67
We have had discussions on here before about foods, our usuals, our cheats, our favourites.
It seems to me that texture is the over-riding thing. Crunchy, salty, cake-y, chewy etc.
With your new mouth appliance this is a whole new ballgame for you! If the reasons that we eat certain things being mouth feel, then this sort of won't apply to you. Your diet is really going to change. Maybe losing those last few pounds will be very easy for you.
@Msmclane
I totally get that reference "Look over there!". Hahahahaha. Jaida Essence Hall : - )
@mthomas0228
What does the acronym WOE mean?
Yes, IF is not for everyone. There are articles that I have read on MFP that show that it works quite well for men, but not for women.
6 small meals a day should give constant fuel? Keeping those meals small would be the challenge I imagine, also being able to fit them in to a busy lifestyle.
This is what tracking shows us over the long haul, what works best for each of us as individuals, what causes us to gain, what causes us to lose.
Looking forward to seeing how that works out for you.2 -
I am Dawn, 61, 5'2"
I am in Southeastern BC, Canada
Top weight: 207 pounds. MFP start weight 191 pounds, October 2018
UGW 110-118
I love the accountability of this forum : - )
Tracking every bite is the key to success.
May 01 - Going with my April end weight as I did for the last month. 135.0
Monday May 02 - 136.8 - Ouch. Feeling leaner than that. Back to jumping around all over the place. My WW scale gave up the ghost months ago, and this new one...not sure if it really works. Very active days off, time for healthy food prep and eating. I truly expected a loss.

@dawnbgethealthy
This is going to be a crazy adventure. Eating anything right now is a job. I have a feeling the weight will come off before the appliance is removed. It's been a week and I'm already tired of soft, mushy food. What I wouldn't give for my bowl of popcorn in the evening It will be worth it in the end but I worry about gaining weight afterwards by making up for lost time with the crunchy and chewy foods that I love so much. Maybe this brief vacation from them will help stop the cravings.4 -

According to Fitbit, I’ve had more sleep last night but I feel hungover. Is there such a thing as a food hangover?

WOE =Way of Eating
I've been doing IF 16/8 on and off since 2018...what is has done for me is to control and understand hunger, so that I don't get the "crazy hungries". I do like it but just trying something different this month3 -

5/1 - 197.8 setting a rather ambitious goal for this month as I haven't managed an actual loss in many months. But weather is improving so I'll be outside and moving more, and I typically do lose well during the summer.
5/2 - 197.6 not a great weekend as far as food choices, but just a slight uptick from the end of April so I'm ok with it. Resuming my walk/run with my son this evening; fingers crossed my shin splints have healed!
5/3 - 197.6 exact same as yesterday but I really thought I'd be down this morning. At least it's not +! Didn't run yesterday but I did take the dogs on a 2-mile walk, was going to run today but it's been pouring all morning so may not make it outside. If no run, then I'll be on the treadmill. I did have a massage this morning and she worked on my lower legs and I had no pain, so I'm hopeful I'm healed up.

Hello! Michelle from ON, Canada
Height: 5'2" Age: 54
May Starting weight: 173.4
May Goal weight: 169.9
UGW: 135/"normal" BMI
Goals for May; to continue with my 10,000 daily steps and dranking that water. I also will be adding more heart pumping activities 3x/week and strength training 2x/week. I need to move it, move it! I need to move it, move it! I need to? MOVE IT!!
01/05 - 173.4 Daily step count: 6,959 Water: Nope Okay, so not a great start. Weekends appear not to be my forte.
LOOK OVER THERE!!
02/05 - 173.0 Daily step count: 9,298 Water: Check!
03/05 - 172.4 Daily step count: TBD Water: TBD Getting ready to start taping and painting the powder room. Trying to get the house ready to put on the market. Just when you think you have a handle of the to-do list, something is getting added. Got my morning walk in. Loves to hear the birds singing and stopping to chat to the local squirrels and cats. Fabulous way to start the day.
@dawnbgethealthy If anyone was going to get that reference, I knew it would be you
Reading about IF makes me think of a meme I saw; "Leave it to the millennials to coin the phrase 'Intermediate fasting' for what we X'ers have always referred to as 'skipping breakfast'6 -
@lynn_w
Great that you are joining us on this journey.
I am in the East Kootenays, I am guessing that you are in the Okanagan or Slocan Valley?
@Msmclane
I wish that there was a "laughing" button for your comments. Skipping breakfast : - )
@deepwoodslady
Yes indeed, it takes more calories to keep you at your current weight than it did to keep you at 183.
I appreciate your comments about eating more volume of lower calorie foods. We can eat a lot of certain things instead of a couple of bites of something else. It really does boil down to calorie counts doesn't it?
Do what got you to 183, look back at the tracker and replicate that?
Soon there will be walks down to the river with your dgs.
7 days until your birthday!!!1
