The scale said 126,5kg before my workout. That's fine. The Chief kicked my butt but it was good. Tabatha after, also pretty good. Now dinner and bed1

🕊️Recuperate from illnesses and prednisone/hives. If possible, continue fitness journey and always be thankful!.
🕊️Be patient! Remember that increments are where it is at, and focus on habits.
🕊️Weigh the food in the ‘test kitchen’!
🕊️Remember: Total loss of over 120 lbs!!
Back on the prednisone (so no more weight of 153, even though with some water weight gain I am still smaller - no I don’t understand at all), and water weight gain anywhere from 5-20 pounds according to the meds. I will be flying blind scale wise, but not panicking. I tried on a medium size dress, which was the smallest I could find, and was so disappointed that it was too big. My hubby's family keeps calling me skinny, and the hubby is starting to call me "boney mama". Weird, given my history. I look good in his jeans though, even if they are a bit loose. Again WEIRD, since I could never fit a leg in them previously.
I will continue to keep a minimal deficit, and when possible walking. Generally keeping to a 1550 calorie diet and praying that the Dr. can find ANY medicine besides prednisone that actually works. I am miserable, but I am very thankful for all the blessings!! I have been reading all the updates, but alas am not up to fun tag parties for all the birthdays, ups and downs, and life stuff. Hang in there ladies. And @Finngirl praying for you.
@danp "Lessons I've learned in previous failed attempts that have helped me to succeed this time.
- It's about weight management, not weight loss. Weight loss has an end date, weight management is for life. Weight management is about being in control of your weight. Making conscious decisions about when you'll eat in a deficit to lose weight, eat at maintenance, or even eat in a surplus to splurge and enjoy life.
- It's all about consistency. It's better to eat 'pretty well' forever than 'perfectly' for a month or two.
- Weight management is simple (but not necessarily easy) so don't overthink it. When it comes down to it weight management isn't complicated. Find what works, do what works and keep it simple."

So excited to be with all of you for another month. My daily weights have around a 5 lb swing, so it's hard to tell in the short term what my weight is. However, it seems like I am down 4 to 5lbs for June, so thank you all for all the support.
Goals for this month, complete my food logs and try to fit in 1 workout video a week.

@NoNameWonder unless you've been eating in a surplus, the lowest weight you've seen is it. The scale can always show something higher due to water or waste but it can't show something lighter. You didn't suddenly lose a kidney or something right before you stepped on the scale, trust the low.
My weight can fluctuate by as much as 15lbs. I definitely didn't eat 50K cals in a surplus over a few days. And I didn't eat at a 50K cal deficit in a week either to lose it all.
It sucks to see a higher number but you've lost those 5 pounds.3 -
Good morning everyone!
187.2 today, working our way down from the high induced by partying maybe too hard.
Today, I'm working from home, and Whatsisface and I are doing work lunch together, which is nice. We're getting sushi and boba tea and I'm very excited. Means I'll eat my normal lunch of chicken and squash for dinner instead of lunch, but I'm good with that. And then I'll get home from the gym too late to go over my calories.
Tonight, I'm going to Pole Twerk and Oh, Split! It's a good combo, I'm looking forward to it.
Tag party time!
@bojaantje3822 Oh, I've heard of quark! I've got relatives in Poland, and it's really big there. I want to try it someday.
Yeah, getting sufficient protein can definitely be hard without meat/fish. I don't know how I would do it without my usual egg whites breakfast and chicken for lunch, and in fact, when I don't do those things, I usually don't hit 100 easily.
@swimmom_1 welcome back! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out- what if you slowed way down on the cardio and focused more on weights and rest for a little while, maybe eat at maintenance for a couple weeks, see if your body likes the break and switch up?
Just $0.02, worth what you paid for it. I hate seeing people toil away in cardio, it was a thing I did, and I was miserable while I did it.
@justanotherloser007 glad you're still around, glad that you've got the hives under control, sorry to hear that it's doing weird things for you weight-wise, but health is primary, so hooray for that. You do seem to be making good progress regardless of your prednisone.
@NoNameWonder small habits add up to big change over time, I like your goals! Also @bojaantje3822 is right- always trust the lows, the rest is water.
Have a great day, everyone!

We have a big vacation coming up at the end of this month where we will go visit family in a beautiful place that we have not seen since the pandemic began. SO VERY READY FOR THIS! We also will be camping one of the evenings we are there and we and our boys are stoked for that.

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, but felt like introducing myself to some new lovely faces as I reset. I had lost 68lbs on MFP from late 2019 through early 2021 (242 down to 174) and have since gained 36 of it back after losing motivation, going through a bunch of stuff medically, etc. I'm now back at 210 and am aiming to refocus. I turn 39 this month, and I WILL be at my goal weight by my 40th birthday and in the best shape I've been. Then, I can conquer the world with the other items that have been on my to do list for far too long that I've lacked the confidence to do.
I am still trying to figure out an exercise routine that works for me. I ran for years, and love small group training at the gym, but earlier this year I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and fibromyalgia which you know - explains why my body hurts 24/7 and I always feel like it's my first day back at the gym after 57 years off. And by "I'm still trying to figure it out" I mean I'm still doing the same routine despite my doc saying I probably shouldn't be - albeit running fewer miles - and hoping either my body just stops hurting or my brain somehow decides it likes yoga. Seeing this in writing makes me realize I'm more of a work in progress than I'd like to admit. LOL. 😬
Maryann: 38 for 3 more weeks, 5'8"
Starting weight 7/5 - 210.8lbs
Final weight goal by 7/25/2023: 162lbs
Goals for July:- I'm also part of the Ultimate Accountability Challenge on MFP and the three goals there every month are: No more than 3 pass days, exercise at least 20 minutes a day, track daily.
- Don't let one birthday day become a month of poor decision making.
- Add more yoga/stretching to my life to try to make things hurt less
- Decrease my coffee intake (Currently at 2 x 27oz mugs a day)
- Draw something every day, no matter how small or trivial it is.
- Run 4 miles at least once before the end of July (I was running 4-5 miles at least 3 times a week before my back and hips staged a coup earlier in the year. I'm currently at either 2-3 miles a run depending on my body. My goal is to get all runs up to no less than 3 miles, and hit 4 miles at least once in July before moving to 4 miles once a week in August.)
I'm looking forward to kicking some butt.
Apologies in advance: You will probably see most of my posts edited because I seem incapable of noticing typos until I hit post. 🤦♀️3 -
@CupcakeCrusoe what if you slowed way down on the cardio and focused more on weights and rest for a little while, maybe eat at maintenance for a couple weeks, see if your body likes the break and switch up?
I'm thinking the same thing but I'm in a work challenge through 7/22. So maybe after that is over I will try it. I do eat more calories than the 1000-1200 (but still less than with my added exercise calories. Those days I eat more than my 12-15 carbs too) on my off days because of exercising those days.2 -
Yesterday I had a bad day. I was pretty depressed which led to bad decision making. I ate more calories than I should have. The food was on plan and good, but I added some alcohol to the mix. Not good. I never really realized how many calories are in alcohol! I usually don’t drink – especially when I am tracking my intake. So today I need to get back on track! No Tagging today as I haven’t read all the posts.
• Sticking to my plan 95% of the time. Only small variations.
• Lose 5 pounds (down to 246)
• Start more regular exercise again. I was doing something every other day, but I got out of the habit and need to get back.

I've been feeling sick at night for a few days, mostly headaches and some nausea, and it sucks because this never used to happen. There are two things I can try.
I've been using electrolyte tablets recently because I've been sweating more than usual during workouts (my intensity has been about the same but the weather got warmer) so it could be a bad reaction to those since they're new. I'll stop using those for a week and eat some more salt instead and see what happens.
Then I'll go back to using them as necessary for a week, see what happens.
If it's not the tablets, I read nighttime headaches can be solved by having coffee before bed. Or anything with caffeine. I don't feel more energised from caffeine usually so this should be okay to try. I'm not a big coffee drinker so if I can't stomach a coffee every night for a week I'll mix it up with some red bull or cola. Let's hope one of these solutions works.
In better news, I figured out what I'll do when my current contract is up! I'm gonna stay at my employer but in a different department, working on water quality and biodiversity instead of circular economy. Excited and scared because I still have to negotiate my pay.
Food-wise things are good. My weight yesterday after training was 128kg but the training was fantastic and I accidentally got a new personal best on a hard lift while injured. I think realistically I should be down around half a kg from 125kg but it makes sense that it doesn't show up on the scale right now. I'm not bothered. I'm feeling my arm and leg muscles from yesterday, which is unusual for oly class but not a bad thing.
I am stuck at home until 5 or 6pm today (it's 11am now) so I'm feeling extra restless. Ugh4 -
Good morning everyone!
186.2 again, I knew 188 wasn't real, and it's not. I can only hope we continue to decrease, I've been on plan and exercising, so there's no reason not to.
Speaking of exercise! I completed my first pole headstand last night! Here's a picture:
Not perfect, but I did it! Oh, Split was good, too, I'm nowhere near a split, but that class makes me believe I'm getting closer.
One of the ladies at the gym made a lot of personalized rubbing alcohol bottles with our dance names on them, and mine is SO CUTE. The people at my gym are so nice. I need to bring cookies or something. There's ZERO talk of calories or weight loss in my gym, it's all about ability and skills, and I just love that.
Today, I've got my normal food prepped, and we'll probably have Chinese food for dinner tonight (stuff from my freezer, not takeout, so easier to log).
Tag party time!
@rhaiin Hi, welcome! I want to play Beat Saber SO BAD. Not quite enough to buy the whole shebang just for that one game, but we'll see, lol.
@cosmiccurves your vacation sounds like it's going to be so good, and you've got a great plan for unpacking.
@mshawski Hi, welcome! I get wanting to run even while maybe you're not supposed to, I was very into running for a while myself. But there is more out there than running and yoga. I wonder if you might like zumba, or tai chi, or a less-intense martial art like aikido... I have this app called MindBody where I can scroll through local gym classes to see what I might like to try out, maybe that is something you're interested in, just audit a bunch of different stuff to see if anything sticks? That's how I got into poles, and I love it so. much.
@swimmom_1 I'm glad to hear you up your calories on workout days, and I hope you do well in your competition! I'll be interested to see what happens if you decide to do a little weight lifting change-up after it's done.
@karilbrandt I was in your shoes on Sunday, lol. One day is not going to screw up your whole thing, so don't sweat it. Just back on plan, you've got this.
@bojaantje3822 your new job sounds interesting! I hope you feel better soon, and get to the bottom of what the issue is.
Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning, I'm super late to the party because I've been dealing with a really bad head cold since last week. Because of that, I took about a week off from tracking and just ate what I wanted. I'm about 90% back to normal now so I'm starting up with tracking again, though I'm still taking a break from exercise for now. I'm just glad it wasn't covid, because I was possibly exposed to it a couple of weeks ago at work by a coworker who had been feeling off and was later positive for it.
Anyway, I'm Jamie, 37, and live in Pennsylvania. I'm currently packing up my place to move out of my apartment at the end of July and move into a new place with my boyfriend on the first of August (staying with family for a few days in between). I predict a lot of instability this month as far as calories and exercise. I'm keeping food at my place to a minimum for the rest of the month so I'm pretty limited as to what to eat. My exercise is going to be packing and cleaning.
One obstacle I have in my journey is migraines, which can absolutely knock me on my butt and throw me off track. I just got approved for Botox for migraine, so I'm excited to try this out. I'm hoping to make my first appointment for it today.
Normal weigh in day is Monday, but things got messed up the last week with being sick. I'll resume Mondays on 7/11.

Our Independence Day festivities were a lot of fun and I was so busy talking to people and making sure things were good that I didn't eat nearly as much as I could have done. That's not to say I didn't have a few adult beverages or skip the chips but it was a LOT less than I thought I was going to do. I had also banked a lot of exercise calories leading up to Monday and then did an extra workout yesterday so when I checked the scale this morning and it was up 2 lbs I don't think that's real. I don't normally weigh until Friday or Saturday anyway so I'll see how things look when I hit the weekend.
Unfortunely we have a bunch of leftovers. Fruit and veggies and healthy dips are great. A bowl full of grilled foil wrapped potatoes though is also calling my name. I'll have to be creative with using those without my blood sugar going crazy. I did eat 2 of them last night mixed with onions, hot pepper spread and a bit of bacon grease in the air fryer but I had just come home from Zumba so my body needed something and it didn't hurt my blood sugar so much that way.
New recipe blog went up yesterday. My mom immediately messaged me to point out a typo so that was fun. https://pamperedlinny.wixsite.com/coffee-required/post/air-fried-buffalo-turnip-fries-with-ranch-dip
I'm on countdown for my lab work next week and seeing my doctor the week after. My doctor and I really don't see eye to eye on most things and I really need a new one but I'm hopeful that maybe I can survive this appointment without her trying to push more meds at me. As long as my A1C is in "normal" range I'm pretty good... but she is really one of those doctors that wants to write a script for everything, even when it can be managed without additional medications.
Today is my first day working after my 4 day weekend so I better get back to it. My emails were out of control when I opened my laptop this morning. Ugh!

@bojaantj33822 Losing on measurements is so fabulous! Great job. Also, that’s exciting about your job. Hope your pay negotiation goes really well.
@CupcakeCrusoe I weighed this morning even though it isn’t my normal weigh in day and saw I was up about 2 lbs too. However, we also had a party on Monday and then I did a bunch of extra exercise yesterday so I know I’m not really up either.
@justantoherloser007 Prednisone will mess with weight so much. I hope it helps wither everything though. Last time I had any steroids I think I stopped weighing in for a month or two. LOL. I didn’t want to know. I hope you find relief. I remember my husband referred to me as buns of steel because I no longer had much of a butt at my skinniest. It was so weird. Hopefully I can get back to my “buns of steel” weight by the end of the year.
@cosmiccurves Yay for upcoming vacation!!!! I hope you have a great time.
@mshawski Welcome! We’re all a work in progress too so you’re in good company. I have never loved running but I tried it for a while. However, I have a bad hip from a car accident and 2 bad knees that click and twinge a lot just with walking and hiking so if you ever see me running you should run faster to get away from whatever is chasing me.
@karilbrandt Alcohol always surprises me with how many calories it contains too. I don’t know why I’m always so surprised. Start fresh today. You got this.
@JAC581 Glad you are feeling better! Migraines for horrible. I’m glad you were approved for treatment. I used to take something daily and got myself to a point without so much stress. Thankfully I was able to get so instead of constant now I only get them a couple times a year but I know the pain of being unable to function from them. Mine actually had me in the hospital twice so I really get it. Let me know if the Botox works as I never tried that option.

Hello everyone,
SW: 253
CW: 220
GW: 150
Happy July! We went on our vacation to visit family for the past 10 days. It was fun but also had family drama so I am happy to be home. I didn't log or exercise during vacation but that is ok! This is a lifestyle change.
I had a few people notice I lost weight. They were people I was comfortable talking to about it so it was a welcome compliment. My mom who has always had a bad view of my body didn't notice but that is a good thing. I didn't want to get into it with her.
We went to a waterpark and some of the rides had weight limits that required a step on the scale. Last year I might have never stepped on it. This year I am proud of the number. It's still too high for my liking but I have worked my butt off (literally) to see that number!
I haven't weighed since my vacation. I meant to this morning but forgot. I'll post an updated CW next time.
Great job on everyone's commitment to health this month! I'm rooting for all of you! Remember we can choose to be on track every day/minute. If you fall off for a meal or a day or a week, shrug it off and get back to it. No guilt, just improvement.

My legs look very skinny today compared to other days but more muscled too ánd my biceps are sticking out when I'm not flexing so my brain is very confused. No idea what I look like right now.
The scale was down to 126kg again today, from 128kg yesterday after the training. I started weighing myself more and posting my wild fluctuations more because there are so many people here that freak out over scale fluctuations, I figured this helps normalise it. I think the main reason my fluctuations are so dramatic is because I'm tall. There's so much space to gain and lose water from, it's bound to be more than on an equally overweight short person.4 -
So you know in my last post when I said I was glad I didn't have covid?
Just joking! I lost my taste and everything smells like burnt toast, so I tested again and came up positive twice.

I, again, had a really bad day. I managed to not go over calories, but I didn’t eat well. I need to get myself back on track! I will really work on that today.

@bojaantje3822 – I bet that it is the electrolyte pills. I always thought that caffeine before bed would keep you up. But caffeine is supposed to help with headaches – that is why it is in almost all pain relievers.
@CupcakeCrusoe – Great job at pole class. I need to find something near me that I can go to. It is really too hot to walk outside except at 6 or 7 am and I don’t really want to walk then, and I am having trouble motivating myself to do something after work. Maybe if I had somewhere to go.
@JAC581 – Glad to have you join the group. It is not that late yet. I hope that the move goes well. Good luck eating and tracking during this busy stressful time! Just read that you have COVID! So sorry! I hope that you feel better soon!
@Pamperedlinney – Yes, I shouldn’t be surprised by how many calories there are in alcohol, but I always am. Good luck with the leftovers. I, luckily, have good leftovers from my cooking binge over the weekend. So I should be able to stay on track! Good luck with your doctor. I have lab work later this month and then see my doctor as well. As, other than the past 2 days, I have been doing well, I hope that my A1C is down this time. I want to get off some of my medication too.
@gbj4120 – Welcome to the group.
@sbortnick – Thanks for the encouragement. I need it right now.

Good morning everyone!
186.4 this morning, which is fine. Either I'm still at 185 or I gained a pound during my diet break (doubtful, but who knows).
Tonight is poles and oh, split, which might be my favorite combo. I think for dinner we're supplementing leftovers. I've got some penne with sauce and cheese in the fridge, some chinese food, and whatever else we need can be quick stuff.
My older kid has been in a funk about food lately, and I don't know why. She doesn't want to eat many things, or eat at all, and it worries me a little. I'm so used to having to deal with my younger kid not wanting to eat for medical reasons, now I've got to deal with both not really wanting to eat.
Although my older kid has said some worrying things about wanting to be thin, so that she can be on YouTube or be a gymnast. I try to emphasize that athletes have to fuel their muscles, and if she doesn't eat she can't grow, but I just don't know if I'm doing a good job. I don't model disorder in front of her- I eat what the family eats. And I know, to some extent, she's just going to get some of this in the culture we live in. She's six, and she's a healthy size, I just wish parenting came with a manual sometimes. I don't want her to develop an unhealthy relationship with food.
Anyway. Tag party time:
@JAC581 I'm so sorry to hear COVID got you. Make sure you take it very easy, and I hope you get better very quickly.
@pamperedlinny mojo for your doctor's appointment! I hope it goes well.
@gbj4120 hi, welcome! We have almost the same stats, looking forward to hearing about your progress!
@sbortnickRemember we can choose to be on track every day/minute. If you fall off for a meal or a day or a week, shrug it off and get back to it. No guilt, just improvement.
@bojaantje3822 I definitely mention my weight most every day for the same reason- bodies can be weird, and what you weigh is only you + food in process + water, after all.
ETA @karilbrandt we cross posted! I want to focus on this:managed to not go over calories, but I didn’t eat well.
I have often had the problem of it being too hot in the summer to do things outside. I hope you find something you like!
Have a great day, everyone!

I didn't feel bad last night but I don't feel great now and I'm generally having a bit of an off day. I did buy new PJs that look super cute so I'll work on editing aome photos so I don't doxx myself and show some to this group sometime this week.
@karilbrandt I didn't know it was in many pain relievers, mostly because it's not in the ones I use. Thanks for the info! I'll keep up my experiment and hopefully it'll resolve itself. And look into those pain relievers0 -
It's Thursday and that means we get to head back to Zumba tonight.... specifically, my daughter's favorite Zumba instructor (who used to be her class mom). We're still working through eating the leftovers but are mostly down to pasta salads and potatoes. So many carbs. I'll figure out how to fit it in though because I really hate letting things go to waste.
My daughter is showing some interest in Yoga so I had to go in the garage to find my mat this morning. I always seem to fall over or look a mess trying to stretch and move but if she's interested that's something I'm happy to encourage. She is supposed to join Volleyball in the fall but the summer doesn't have a lot of physical activities scheduled. We were letting her join Girls on the Run in the fall too in preperation for the Basketball Team she wants to join in December except they seem to have closed the program near us.
Short Tag Party
@sbortnick I’m sorry you had drama on your trip but that’s also fabulous about being more comfortable at the water park. We did 3 days at a waterpark in June and while I was comfortable getting on the scale with the kids I never looked at the number there.
@JAC581 Feel better!!!
@karilbrandt You didn’t go over calories even on a rough eating day. That’s so great!
@CupcakeCrusoe My daughter is 8 and has had multiple occasions had out of the blue breakdowns about being fat. Her father is quite heavy with a bad back and unable to do a lot of things and I’m obviously trying to be healthier. However, there is nothing about her that is “fat”. It really worries me when she has these moments.

I had quickly gotten in my post for goals to bump up the thread after posting my finishing for June but couldn't get back.
Work is a bit tedious and in crunch time right now so very focused on that.
High sodium food over last weekend but it's coming off now.
DH, his cousin and I had a Stranger Things marathon and ordered for them after I had also eaten dinner. Not the best but it is what it is.
Went to DH's friend's house for the holiday. They didn't have much food setup and those that they did I couldn't have much so that was easy to stay away.
Last night was the last concert postponed from 2020 - Backstreet Boys. It was at our outdoor venue so lots of walking going in and out. On my feet for it all once they started. But darn my apple watch died once I walked in so it wasn't captured in those counts.
Scale was nice this morning.1 -

I am planning for an entire month at maintenance for July. I am not surprised at the small increase likely due to water, stress at work and poor sleep.

@CupcakeCrusoe Regarding your 6 year old thinking she is fat. I remember going through that at her age as well. My Mom kept trying to tell me I wasn't fat etc. But when I got older I figured out what my issue was. So you know the kid pre-pubescent body? Yeah, it doesn't have a waist. That freaked me out, since I kept seeing all these ladies with waists, all of them had waists! I didn't therefore I thought I was fat. So, maybe if you can explain to her that her shape is perfect, and it won't change until after puberty or something like that, it might reaffirm her and ease her mind. In a "this is a perfect, totally normal, not fat size!!" It kind of messes with kids minds, since it is difficult to look at an adult and not be like them. I mean, what 6 year old isn't wanting to be a nice looking adult already! I know I did.4

🌈🌈🌈 July Goals! 🌈🌈🌈
🟣 July GW: Let's get to 183 this month! Halfway baby!
🔵 Log everything in grams ✅
🟢 Do at least three pole classes a week ✅
🟡 More than 100g protein every day ✅
🟠 No doomscrolling after 7PM each night ✅
🔴 At least 64oz of water a day ✅
Poles last night was great, the instructor thought we were all ready to let our poles spin, so we got to just stay on the pole and it spun us around! It was so fun. Oh, Split was good, stretching toward splits makes me feel great.
Tonight is pizza night, and I haven't decided yet whether I'll eat pizza or make my pizza wrap and air fried potatoes. That pizza wrap does sound good right now. Hm. And I get to play video games with some friends and drink beer with my husband. Just have to get through this day at work.
Tag party time!
@bojaantje3822 LOVE new PJs. I'm still riding the high of buying some cute floral satin PJs a couple months ago, I wear them all the time.
@pamperedlinny I think, based on what you're taking about in the thread, though, that you are doing well modeling balance- zumba classes together, movie nights to enjoy with friends, and thinking about healthy food.
@sarah12277 Backstreet Boys?! I'm so jealous! I'm glad you had a good time.
@sandielewis2001 Absolutely, maintenance is a range, I love this for you.
@justanotherloser007 This is a good perspective, something I hadn't thought about. I'll try to focus more on the way lots of bodies look different ways throughout our lives. Thanks.
Have a great day, everyone!

I actually got back on track yesterday. But it looks like my weight is up anyway. It may be sodium. I hope that it comes back off quickly. I just have to stick with my plan. I am not off to a good start this month. Of course, the holiday (4th) didn’t help. I hope that I can get re-motivated over the weekend and get my exercise on track.
• Sticking to my plan 95% of the time. Only small variations.
• Lose 5 pounds (down to 246)
• Start more regular exercise again. I was doing something every other day, but I got out of the habit and need to get back.

@bojaantje3822 – Excedrin is the primary pain reliever that I remember definitely has caffeine. That is what makes it better for migraines and other bad headaches than regular ones that don’t have caffeine in them.
@CupcakeCrusoe – That is worrying that your 6 year old is already concerned about weight! I hope that @justanotherloser007 is right and she is just thinking about missing a waist.
I am trying to get healthy as well as lose weight, so not going over calories is good, but I need to eat good whole food – not junk – to get healthy again.
@sarah12277 – It is our busy season at work too. Which makes this unexpected long weekend kind of awkward. I will probably end up working some of it anyway since there is stuff that needs to get done and the timeline didn’t change just because our company decided to give us 2 days off.
@Pamperedlinney – It sounds like both you and your daughter are very active. I still need to work on the activity more. That is one of my goals for this long weekend that we have for some reason.

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday! I'm having a mild freak out this morning so if you don't mind I'm going to vent (and give some background) real quick because I need to kind of spew it out to get past the freak out portion of my day.
I've posted a few times that I see my doctor this month and that I really need a new doctor. I had a doctor I LOVED back in Maryland but then moved to South Carolina. Then I found a doctor I really liked and that listened to me plus her office was only 5 minutes away from home. That doctor moved to another state and I was stuck with her replacement. She seemed fine but had a lot of critism. Nothing too big or bad off the jump and seemed to listen but also had a disclaimer.... you're healthy but need to work on weight. You've stopped taking this because of side effects so you need to take that even though the numbers still look ok without it. She seems to push medication even when things can be controlled without them.
I have been pre-diabetic for about a decade and I have PCOS. My weight has been an issue since I was 18 and that doctor I loved back home even told me once that getting to "not obese" is the goal. Being overweight with my other health issues is "normal" and not to let myself be bullied into being unhealthy. Granted, I'm still "obese" but I'm not 300 lbs any longer either. So.... I tell this doctor I've stopped taking Metformin because after 10 years I still have side effects and I can't do it forever. She says the numbers show I crossed from pre-diabetic into diabetic but only by a bit.... proceed to prescribe medications that only have brand names, no generics, and will cost something like $600 per month until my deductable is reached. After about 6 such calls to my pharmacy I finally tell her I'm doing it my way, diet & exercise, and I'll show her in 3 months I can do it.
That was 2 years ago. I've kept my numbers firmly around 5.7 with only diet & exercise. I check with an at home A1C test every month (that blood test is a 3 month average). I checked it last month and it was 5.8 but I had been away for vacation earlier in the month and I had Covid. Slightly elevated when half of a month was weird seems normal. I checked it this morning... twice. Once was 6.3 and once was 6.1. Since the home tests always seem to be within .1 of the lab I'm guessing I'm at 6.2. This is horrible!!! I know my doctor. She's going to have another fight with me about trying every since new medication out there instead of giving my a month to figure out what happened (though I think it still goes back to vacation plus sickness last month).
So cue my freak out because I'm a doormat and I know I'm just going to listen to whatever she dishes out without saying anything in my own defense. She also doesn't believe what my previous doctor did about my weight will never be fully under control. She wants me to be a "healthy" 150 lbs like the BMI chart recommends for my height. All my after care notes from her office say the below.
I really need to find another good doctor that will help instead of push.
Another example of the pushing.... everyone was getting the vaccine right away. I had heard some things from women I knew about after shot weirdness.... longer periods, severe cramps during PMS, etc.... all things that sound like PCOS. I had questions before scheduling a shot. I tried to ask and instead received a 20 minute lecture about not already having it. I had to wait until I saw my GYN 3 months later to have my questions answered. I didn't want a lecture. I just wanted answers before I possibly hurt my body more with symptoms I finally have almost under control. I needed reassurance.
Sorry this was so long. I'm just messed up this morning. It feels like all the hard work is for nothing if I know the doctor will act like I've done everything wrong and immediately start down the road we were on 2 years ago.
The labs are on July 12 but I don't sit down with her until July 20.5
