7/16 - 152
7/17 - 152.5
7/18 - 150.5 - Back to the office today. I'm drinking plenty of water to hopefully prevent a bounce from the sodium this weekend.
7/19 - 150 - The scale bounced between 149.5 and 150.5 so I'm taking the average. I have a business lunch today at a very popular local Italian restaurant. I'm planning to order a low calorie salad, although it will be hard not to have some of their famous pizza or lasagna.
7/20 - 150 - Okay. I ended up having a half piece of pizza and half of my salad for lunch yesterday. I stayed on plan the rest of the day.
7/21 - 150 - I ate well yesterday.
7/22 - 149.5 - Yay, I hit my goal for the round. I may bounce up tomorrow because of the sodium I'll be eating tonight, but at least my trend is going down.
7/23 - 149.5 - We had Chinese food with the grandson last night, but I watched my quantity. Today is an art festival in the park across from my house. I allow myself one corn dog a year and I'll be getting it at the festival today. I'll watch my eating the rest of the day.
7/24 - 149 - The grandson came back over yesterday afternoon and wanted to try some fair food so I walked back over with him. I managed to keep myself within limits by just taking a taste of each item. My weight may jump tomorrow due to the extra carbs and sodium since it can take a day or two for them to show up, but I'm happy my trend weight is down.
7/25 - 149 - It's been a couple months since my weight has been this low at the end of the round. I'll take it and see you next round!

Determined to get back into shape & do the things I love. Started this journey 4/4/22 at 180lbs and wish I would have found this amazing group sooner.

Day/Weight/Comment: Reflections on previous day
7/16 - 160.1 (-1.1) - Fighting a headache (probably caffeine deprivation) but family is all better again. Created an interesting fusion meal last night and that was fun. Very healthy and kids loved it. 💧144 oz, 🥗Net under, 💪475 kcals, 👟11,424, ⛑+34 PAI (193).
“You may not be there yet, but you are closer than you were yesterday.” - José N Harris
7/17 - 160 (-.1) - 🎉 Wahoo! If nothing else I was hoping to see that tiny little decimal point fall off today. Down 20lbs & feeling great about that. Celebrating with a day at the lake today. 💧176 oz., 🥗 Gross under, 💪 739 kcal’s, 👟 13,970, ⛑+ 65 PAI (244).
“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” - Zig Ziglar
7/18 - 161.2 (+1.2) - Wowsa! I was amped again yesterday! Spent almost 14 hrs at the lake and was actively paddling/swimming just shy of 10hrs. (racing my son + best friend for a fair chunk). Not sure where this burst of energy has come from but I’ll take it. I feel better than I have in at least a month. I was sore while we were still moving + shaking yesterday and today there isn’t a muscle outside of my face that isn’t feeling it! Ate late at Red Robin and treated myself to a big Stella. Once I stopped moving though I was ready to snooze and that’s about what happened as soon as we got back home. Between the muscles, heat and food choices (how late it was to boot) I’m not surprised by the scale but it’ll fall right back off. Scored a never used Vertical Climber for $25 (my goal hitting prize) and can’t wait to pick up this evening. 💧148 oz., 🥗 Net Under, 💪3,245 kcal’s, 👟38,645, ⛑ +75 (262).
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new” - Socrates
7/19 - 160.7 (-.5) - Still retaining some water. After hopping on vertical climber for a single minute yesterday I can see how much I will love the workout! Legs and many other muscle groups are still sore though so I’ll continue to take it a bit easy on them. 💧144 oz. 🥗 Gross Under (by 2)💪 1hr. walk, Hatha Yoga + Strength👟 12,899 ⛑ +13 (266).
“Keep your vitality. A life without health is like a river without water.” - Maxine Lagacé
7/20 - 159.8 (-.9) - Still feeling my marathon style Sunday but I’ve shed the water now. 💧160 oz., 🥗Gross under, 💪HIIT, Yoga, Walking + Strength 👟13,031 ⛑ +17 (271).
“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending it turned into a butterfly” - Chinese Proverb
7/21 - 158.1 (-1.7) - Giving this drop credit from the weekend. Stretch it out, walk it off, repeat. Dying to put my new climber to work but patience is a virtue right? 💧176 oz., 🥗 Net under, 💪HIIT, Tai Chi, Walking + Strength 👟11,457 ⛑+30 PAI (280)
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest.” - Mark Black

7/22 - 158.2 (+.1) - Legs are feeling much better but not normal yet. Plan to go easy on them again. I might take kids to rec center this evening so I can soak in hot tub. 💧148 oz., 🥗 Gross under, 💪Yoga, Walking + Strength 👟9,845 ⛑+21 PAI (253).
"Believe in yourself. Trust the process. Change forever." - Bob Harper
7/23 - 158.6 (+.4) - Enjoyed my time at the pool yesterday. Put some work in & then basked it the heat while letting the jets massage me for a bit. 💧182 oz. 🥗 Net Under 💪 Water Aerobics, swimming + yoga 👟8,136 ⛑+16 (239).

7/24: 179.6 yes, all my work went out the window. I went on the cruise. i have wanted to go on one for 20 years, but work has stopped me. well, retirement opened opportunities and i planned my cruise. since my baby sister is turning 50 on 7/30, I invited her to go with me as a birthday gift. we were on Royal Caribbean, and visited roatan, costa maya, and cozumel (i have probably spelled every one of those city names incorrectly). i will begin keeping track of my calories again, and MUST go shopping to get healthier options in the house (the man is predictable with donuts and frozen dinners.)
7/25: 180.6 i've only been gone a week, and there's so much routine that has obviously slipped my mind. i forgot to do a morning weigh-in, so this mornings weight is after coffee and breakfast. i didn't drink enough water yesterday, need to get back to at least 8 glasses a day (hopefully more). i'm looking forward to my 173# again (even though that's not where near my goal weight)7 -

I’ve been eating on track but I am really struggling with my metabolism. Working out on the treadmill 5 x week. Goal 259 this round
Day/Weight/Comment

7/17 257.2 finally progress.
7/18 256.6
Exercised 60 min treadmill steady incline.
For those suffering from covid . Hoping you recover quickly . Covid can make you feel like crap. Drink lots of fluids and keep your nutrition up.
As an icu nurse covid is still out there. We still see a few patients a week in the hospital . Most are vaccinated and boosted but they don’t end up on my unit. Last fall / winter when delta hit we were always full and we lost so many and some were young. Yes covid is still out there but each round it is lessening but you still have to be safe.
7/19 257.4 no exercise today off to a busy day at work.
7/20 256.4 . 60 min treadmill interval routine
7/21 255.4
7/22 255.8
7/23 253.0. Another nice drop. I have noticed when I eat more calories combined with exercise it drops . There are days due to work I can only get in around 1000 cal and though I’m busy running around and get the steps in my weight will fluctuate and even gain.
7/24 256 went out to dinner and indulged too much (sodium)
7/25 254.8
Total loss challenge 5.2 lbs

I was out of control yesterday, though. Midday winery did not help me maintain control at alll. Then we had some neighborhood friends and their kids over and the drinking continued. I mountain biked 6.5 HARD miles yesterday morning and burned 700 calories. I did not track at all yesterday, though. I'm sure I went over despite the mega burn. It was a really fun day though! I did not meet my challenge goal but I'm grateful my weight at least dropped ever so slightly below where it started this round. See ya in the next one!8 -

Hi All - I'm in for round 4 for me. These challenges are working for me and the support from the group is priceless. The next 10 days will be tough because I'm away from my Peloton and on a working vacation in Florida. I lost a little over 2 pounds last round (did some yo-yo-ing in the middle). I'm hoping to keep the downward trend going, exercising daily, and making/sticking to my meal plans.

7/25 - 155.2 - Whew.... BF and kids headed back today, expected around dinner time. Very productive weekend I had with them away. Got my first ever Costco run completed. Got groceries for the week. Didn't plan any specific dinners for this week besides tonight, but I at least gave an attempt to stock up on some things we can make without issue. Had lunch with Fam yesterday and got to relax a bit. BigBro got his car battery on the charger so hopefully come tomorrow morning he will be all set. No workout this morning as I was a tad late to bed getting some last minute things together that I postponed to spend time with Fam. So long as BigBro drives himself tomorrow, I can wake up at the time I normally do to drive him and get in a nice workout instead (bonus: I won't be rushing to not be late to my 7:30 start time for work! Luckily work is flexible so I do that extra half hour before I leave to drive him so I still get my hours in. I really love this job so I'd like to keep it and would rather not start, stop, start. Really messes with my focus and productivity especially now since I have THREE projects running concurrently. Ramping up big time here but I guess that means I'm not doing too horrible if they're still piling things on me). Got a lot to catch up on post-wise so I'll do that while I wait for my morning meeting to start to see what work I need to prioritize for the week.
Previous Day's Comments7/16 - DNP

7/18 - No idea why my body wants to put on weight. Granted, food has been a little wonky but not entirely unhealthy. Today likely has a little to do with the fact that we FINALLY painted our ceiling beams yesterday and boy are my arms/shoulders SOOOOOOORE. Plus lots of up and down ladders for a leg workout. We have family portraits Wednesday evening that I'm trying to work toward looking okay in. BF and kiddos going to BF's dad's this weekend (out of state), leaving Thursday morning and coming back Monday evening so it'll just be BigBro and I. We both work Thurs, Fri, Mon and he never really leaves his room on weekends so it'll pretty much just be me. I only have to worry about his to/from work and feeding him dinner (which I'm feeding myself so it's not a big deal there). I did force myself out of bed this morning (by reminding myself my actual alarm goes off in less than an hour and I'll be miserable if I let myself fall back asleep) to knock out a nice workout. 5-4-3-2-1 min alternating bike/rower (5 min row, 1 min rest, 5 min bike, 1 min rest, 4 min rower, etc). Feel better now that it's done. Let's see if I can keep this up, though. So long as I can get into bed around 9-930 every night, I think I can force myself up. Thursday might be a challenge since BigBro has to be at work a half hour earlier cutting my workout time short. Plus this week we may get home later Wed night since we're doing sunset family portraits (around 730-8) and that's about an hours drive away. Might call that my rest morning.
7/19 - Surprised at the drop despite the big heavy dinner. It was, however, filled with protein and veggies (I doubled up on veggies). Second day waking up at 5 to get some movement in. I'm super sore, particularly in the shoulders and neck (DOMS from painting I believe. Always the second day after for me I've noticed) so I did a nice Yoga With Adriene morning routine for 34 minutes. Hoping it would help the bit of a tension headache I have due to the neck/shoulder soreness. Might need to put some cream on to help ease it, though. The habit here isn't necessarily the workout, it's the getting up and moving first thing in some form or fashion. Due to the "lightness" of yoga, I have to be very careful about my food today. I have lunch and dinner planned, but I've noticed I get quite hungry mid-afternoon. I have a little bit of extra calories left for something to hold me over, though, so I should be okay so long as I stay mindful. Also, so long as I have my water dialed in, I have coffee in the morning to help me push lunch a little later (yay for the appetite suppressant side of coffee! Plus my collagen. I usually only drink one cup when I get back from dropping off BigBro but I'm drinking it early today so I'll give myself permission for a second cup later in the morning should I need it. Second cup won't have collagen added. Gotta watch them calories!). Hope everyone has a fantastic day! Editing to add: I'm focusing on how I feel and look vs the scale since I'm trying to reintroduce regular workouts. I know I'll likely gain some (or not lose) from glycogen and muscle build-up initially if I can keep this habit up.
7/20 - Easing back down. A little shocked as SD wanted to make rice so BF helped her make homemade chicken fried rice. Quite a carb-loaded meal for dinner. But I was mindful of what I was eating all day, only snacked on a packet of lemon-pepper salmon when I realized I was truly hungry (not boredom or emotional eating). Woke up again this morning for some movement. Yoga With Adriene "For when you're feeling dead inside" which is pretty accurate how I was feeling this AM. I was NOT having it. I had some pretty awful dreams, tossing and turning and waking up frequently. But I knew that 1 hour was not enough to make me feel any better so I might as well get up and move since it's more likely to boost me than a bit more sleep. Photos are up in the air as Fam didn't quite account for a few things, unfortunately. It is BF's fathers day gift so we left everything up to them except us getting our outfits (theme is red&black). We shall see if it works out. Kiddos only have a couple more weeks here so hopefully they get it sorted as the next opportunity is spring break. If it is postponed, maybe I can work this bloat off a little more and feel a little better about them. If not, oh well. The dress I chose will hide the bloat-belly I currently am dealing with fairly well. Edit to add because brain isn't working today: my TMI/digestion is all kinds of wonky. Not sure what's causing it but I have a feeling it is impacting how bloated I look/feel. Likely has impact on weight as well since I'm almost always higher when I have noticeable bloat. Hoping my food choices this week will fix this in the next few days. Edit #2: Fam just informed us they were able to find a place to accomodate us for photos. They are happening tonight after all.
7/21 - This weight will surely go back up tomorrow. I'm an absolute mess today. Night 2 of nightmares and terrible sleep. BF, LittleBro, and SD all left for Oklahoma to see BF's dad this morning. BigBro is out working and house is too quiet suddenly. I'd be struggling to focus if I was simply dealing with the sleep but all the sudden changes have really made it hard. I feel like I'm wandering around aimlessly today. I am getting laundry done (the 2 kids wanted their bedsheets and blankets done while they were gone) so I'm forcing myself to be up and moving at least every hour for that. Food is already rotten (read: terrible choices) today but at least dinner is cooking (yay crockpot!) for tonight so I'm not starving the boy after a hot day of working in this Texas Sun/Heat. Photos are done, I'm curious to see how they turn out. I didn't work out this morning but have my alarm set to go off tomorrow in hopes I can kickstart it in a healthy way which will lead to healthier choices throughout the day. At this point, I'm simply trying to get through the day. Side note, since kiddos are gone this weekend (AKA I have no plans and BigBro never wants to leave the house) and I work tomorrow, I'm going to go into San Antonio Saturday to check out Costco and get a nice stock up on the things we need in bulk. I already have a membership that I've used for big items that are shipping only but might as well use it since I have it. Plus it gets me out of the house and I'll have to walk around for some movement. Then to the local grocery, maybe Sunday, for the other little stuff we need.
7/22 - As expected, a copious amount of bloat from yesterday's rotten eating habits. I'm actually quite shocked it's not more. Maybe that'll show up tomorrow. I HAVE, however, discovered that drinking my lovely loose leaf tea I've been procrastinating making (because I'm lazy and it takes SLIGHTLY more work than a teabag) fills me up quite delightfully. As in, I'm so full my tea is now cold but I love the flavor ("Full Moon Chai" but it's simply chai and I'm in love) so I'm drinking it cold while trying to figure out how to turn this into a dirty chai latte... I also apparently decided that I was going to sleep like a madwoman last night and woke up at 2:44am with the absolute worst muscle pain from behind my left ear and down to mid-shoulder blade and almost to my left elbow. Like I could not move without wanting to cry a little (I'm a bit dramatic at 2:44 in the morning... don't mind me) so I turned off my 5am alarm and slept delightfully (and painfully) until 6 when I still had ZERO desire to get up and only the fact that another human (feels weird to call him a child) is relying on me to get to his job is what got me out of bed.... Long story short: no workout this morning but after some lovely cream and stretches, I feel better and can move pain-free again. Tomorrow is my costco run out of town, though. And my dear mama wants some of this loose leaf tea (made by a local gal) so I also have some local shopping to do once I put away my costco goodies. It'll give me reason to walk at least somewhat. To add, my focus is not much better today. Apparently Wednesday was my Friday and my mind thinks it is the weekend and the brain has vacated the property. Except today is the Friday that I work and I'm very much in need of my brain or at least a few of the semi-functional braincells to get through these next 45 minutes before I'm off work and can run to the post office before I have to run to get the human who relies on me for transportation (did I mention he decided to buy BF's car? Battery is dead and BF said BigBro has to be the one to take it out, charge it, and re-install it so he can learn (AKA "don't enable him, don't touch, just supervise and step in if dangerous") and he hasn't done that yet so we shall see if he bothers to get the battery charged to drive himself on Tuesday. That's between BigBro and BF, I'm just the chauffeur until Monday evening and then I'm tapping out.)

I went a little off the rails last night, but I think it was ok as I worked a good five hours in the garden transplanting and planting various things. I was hungry and pooped! I did eat more salt than usual—was craving it, so I ate some Triscuits with cheddar cheese. So not as junky as it might have been! We’ve had a lovely rain to water everything in, so I’ve been out weeding this morning, and plan to go tracking (dog tracks, I follow) later. Tracking = lots of walking. In the meantime I think I’ll just sit and read. Enjoy your Saturday!
7-17 - 178.4
Lots of walking yesterday evening while tracking training with two friends and their dogs. We were out for 2 hours, walking most of that through fields. I conked out early last night! Calories were under goal in spite of a piece of lovely peach galette I made from my big box of peaches, so I think this bump is from Friday night. I also made a low-sugar peach-ginger jam—it’s fabulous!—and froze a bunch of peaches for smoothies and whatever in the future. Now I’m off for a short tracking session to work on some weaknesses. Surely all this walking will force some pounds to fall off? Have a lovely Sunday!
7/18 - 178
Monday, Monday…although I trust the day to be productive. I went over calories yesterday, but not over maintenance, so all good. The plan for today is back on track. Have a lovely!
7/19 - 177.8
I made a lovely tropical fruit & mixed berries collagen powder almond milk smoothie for breakfast—yummy! Leftover chicken fajita soup for dinner. Probably a salad for lunch. Nice to have the day planned! I’ve edited my goal for the year—no weight goal. I find weight goals aren’t viable. I can’t control what I weigh, only what I eat and do for exercise. If I do those with health in mind, the weight will follow. I don’t know what I was thinking giving myself untenable goals. Life is one long revision!
7/20 - 177
It’s gonna be a scorcher here as many other places. I think I’ll make gazpacho for lunch or dinner. Cold and yummy. Here’s a photo I took yesterday that makes me smile—but then Rory and sunflowers always make me smile. I hope the make you smile, too!
7/21 - 176.8
Finally, something is working! I made gazpacho yesterday for lunch because of the heat, and have leftovers for today, so yay. Stay cool, everyone!
7/22 - 177.2
No problem—I blew right through my calorie goal (though still below maintenance) with a splurge on Tortitos that DH wanted to go with the gazpacho, and later some ice cream. I paid, though, with an upset tummy, probably from the salt. I haven’t had chips of any kind in, wow, I can’t even remember. It will be another long time now! And all is well, back on track today. I have 11 new daylilies to plant this morning before it gets too hot. Happy Friday, all!
7/23 - 177.4
Never got the lilies planted but I did spend a good 3 hours moving some plants around and pulling weeds and grass! When the rain stops, I can plant in nice, wet ground. Perfect! And really, I can use a morning indoors, although it’s a challenge when Rory can’t get out for a good morning run! Ah, to have that energy. Zoom! Enjoy your Saturday, all.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought a big box of peaches, ate some, froze some, made fruit-only jam with some,….but the remainders were starting to get too ripe, so I made a peach crisp yesterday, cutting the recipe sugar in half. Delish, and I was still within my calorie goal. Yay! Happy rest of your weekend!

That’s a wash, but that’s ok. It confirms at least partly my hunch that maintenance is in the 1600-1700 range. I’ve also had a bit more sugar than usual this round. I’m going to try IM for the next round and see if anything change. See you next round!

07/23 -198.8- (Trend weight 199.9) I had a houseful yesterday for a meeting of the minds planning my DD’s wedding. I was brought a Chinese dinner and DD brought in cheesecake style cream pies. I ate part of the dinner and will eat the rest today for lunch or dinner. I did eat the pie. I’m grateful for no gain today on the scale. I’ll push water all day because of the Chinese food. It’s a nice treat since we don’t have any Chinese restaurants in the county. But I have to remain mindful! I am still over my start weight this round due to the big overnight Covid drop. I would love to at least match that start weight this round.
07/24 -199.6- (Trend weight 199.8) I was perfectly within calorie and carb limits yesterday. A large amount of calorie burn. Closed all my circles on fitbit in a great way. My sodium was high due to the Chinese leftovers. Still one serving to go on that. This must be fluid retention. Traveling today for some wedding decorating supplies so lunch will be out. The last of the Chinese will probably be later tonight for dinner so I don’t expect tomorrow’s weight at challenge end will be very good. I really don’t feel firmly planted in new decades unless it ends in a 7. I hope to hit 197 this week so I will feel confident on the fluctuations and fluid retention days.
07/25 -203.2- (Trend weight 200.2) Over 3 ½ pound gain overnight? Yikes! And a 5 pound gain for the round. Yikes! Tons of sodium yesterday in all 3 meals/travel. I took a magnesium supplement last night because of the bloat, so this weight is after a TMI (finally). I honestly don’t know what is going on with anything since covid. The glucose is wonky, the weight has been wonky and my blood pressure is wonky. Who knows what other things would show in bloodwork? Long Covid is real folks and I may be experiencing it according to the doctor. Ugh! Travel again this week tomorrow and Thursday so I may post extra early or extra late. Tomorrow is the CTA test on the heart at the hospital. This will look for blockages in the heart and is in lieu of a heart cath which is more invasive. Thurs I see cardiologist for the results of all this testing this past month, and the plan. Nice job you guys on this round. So many successes!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Goal Achieved! I am happy and grateful. This week of fast loss follows two weeks of nothing, while my eating drinking and exercise have barely changed. I know this is how it goes sometimes, but still!

This round has been great for me. But while I am down 3lb on the round, I am ‘only’ down 5lb on the last 30 days, with pretty consistent daily behavior. So while the weight can do its own sweet thing in a day or a week, it usually gets in line over a month.
7/25 143.7 (-.7) I got nothing but gratitude.8
