7/16 118.5 GKI 6.0 Yesterday was a good day. OMAD was ham, 2 eggs, and 32 slices of a new to me keto bread recipe from Wholesome Yum - made with hearts of palm.
**EDIT - Oops, I see the recipe was from “ibreatheimhungry.” Maybe that’s why I couldn’t find it
7/17 119.0 GKI 6.5 Homemade “pulled” pork and squash medley.
7/18 119.5 GKI 10.1 1/2 GG salad w/steak & 1/8 pita and had made strawberry whipped cream sweetened with vanilla bean SF syrup (less than 1/2c portion) **Post post edit - 3-4 days no TMI, finally relieved.
7/19 118.5 GKI 4.6 Finished GG salad early, went to the Apple store, got gasoline (!) and made a hamburger patty for myself had it on two thin slices of the bread I made the other day and ate one cup of leftover squash, pepper and onions. Nothing after 6PM - aiming for 16-18 hour fast which I intend to break with my version of BPC.
7/20 119.5 GKI 6.2 @4:30 AM Rt calf cramp woke me at 2:30 and 4. Gave up, got up, sitting in the dark LR. Community Bingo tonight, no idea what they will have for dinner. Fasting since lun-ner around 2 yesterday.
7/21 119.0 GKI 13.6 19 hour fast. Spent several hours visiting DD#2, DGD#3 and DGGS#1. 😁😁😁I was doing great until the cookies after Bingo! I’ll recover. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
7/22 118.0 GKI 13.3 My eating was great - beef and good veggies with butter but I had a 6 oz glass of sweet red wine - so sweet that I could hardly drink it. Water with ever sip!
7/23 119.0 GKI 8.2 met family for early lunch - some Great Greek salad, 1 slice of gyro meat, no pita, hamburger patty at 5
7/24 119.0 GKI 12.9 ???!!! Beef and salad. No idea unless that fountain dink wasn’t diet.
7/25 120.0 GKI 11.3 No TMI x 3 days AQe meeting today, lots of driving time.

I am about 7.9 kg along the way to lose 32 kg. I use multiple tape measurements (cm) around my body because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been dropping for 4 1/2 months now. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

How this round went: my exercise was 30 minutes of running, which is not bad compared to the past. I skipped 4 days plus one day it was raining. Eating was not great, I ate ideally on 7 days and the other days I didn't eat too much. I lost another kilogram this round, 24 kg to go. Lowest weight since April 2020.5 -

7/16: 133.4 - Birthday cake and takeout Indian were the majority of my calories yesterday. Didn’t get my usual workout of Jazzercise, but did take two walks. Great sleep last night!
7/17: 133.6 - Leftover Indian food. Had a couple of good workouts plus we’re washing windows, etc in prep for some house guests. That added a bunch of active points on my watch.
7/18: 133.8 - Still working on that leftover Indian food. Kept calories within target.
7/19: 133.4 - Not sure why the slight dip weight-wise because I ate sooo many carbs yesterday. Good workout and good sleep.
7/20: 132.7 - Normal workouts, good eating, baked some sourdough bread and good sleep.
7/21: 131.2 - Normal workouts and good eating yesterday. However, even though I went to bed early, I slept terribly because I kept waking up. I always seem to get a whoosh when I don’t sleep well which is opposite of what all the research tells you.
7/22: 131.2 - Jazzercise workout and a kind of spin cycle relay competition for charity. Oh my - I have to admire all you cyclists out there - what a workout even in these 5 minute increments/bursts. I ended up lowering my calorie goals to lose a half pound per week from maintenance because I kept cycling at the higher end of maintenance range every week. I'll adjust back if I end up going down too much (ha! I've never, ever lost more than intended and in the past have struggled to maintain for more than a week).
7/23: 132.3 - Fairly high sodium meal last night (take-out) and I ate way more than I should have. Had a late afternoon workout, but that didn’t seem to curb my appetite too much.
7/24: 132.3 - Normal Jazzercise workout but didn’t get my walk in. Ate well and had so-so sleep
7/25: 132.5 - Holding steady at the middle of my maintenance range. Still trying to not get a little bummed when I gain a little or get excited when I lose a little. Maintenance is trying to gain/lose the same 1-2 pounds over and over.

7/17 DNW / spot on my calories, even though I went out for brunch and had KFC for dinner / a bit of slow walking between restaurant and cinema as very hot, did 3000+ steps
7/18 224.8 / stayed just under my calories and I resisted eating a whole chocolate bar as it wasn't within my calorie goal - feel proud of myself / didn't move much as very hot and WFH
7/19 224.8 / went over calorie goal, I ate lots of sugary food today as felt exhausted from lack it sleep in the heat. Also had a delicious Tapas meal made by family / very little moving as hottest day ever in the UK, c250 steps
7/20 DNW / stayed within my calorie goal (slightly under by c330) hoping this will offset going over yesterday / walked round the shops a bit after work, 2,000+ steps
7/21 223.8 / tasty food and slightly over cals (<100) / did some desk dancing and bit of dancing round my house after work, 2100+ steps

7/24 22.4 / slightly over calorie (<50) as took my mum out for lunch and had tasty food and a bit of pimms! Went for a 20+ minute walk round a forest, 7500+ steps
7/25 224 there's that fluctuation! A bit frustrating that it's at the end of the challenge, but here's to the next one 😊/ over calorie (<300) lots of sugary snacks at work today and went for leaving drinks with a colleague / did some fast walking, 9000+ steps

7/19 - 165.9* - 12.900/66. Visited friends campsite. Had a great campfire steak dinner and a couple adult beverages, wonderful night. SO leaves for work Thursday so I've penciled in some big walks maybe oceanside as I think it's going to get real' warm. No hugs needed I still feel in control.
7/20 - 164.7 - 11,800/66. Low key day. After work we grabbed some Wendy's salads and took them to the beach for dinner. Enjoyed the breeze and watched an osprey fish.
7/21 - 166.8 - 13,100/82. Beach picnic with bread, cheese, lemonade, scones, hummus and too many chocolate covered almonds! Another day of high calories and less activity, again not worried. SO has left for work again so I can reel in the extra walks. He wasn't home for very long this timeMy scale app says I've gain weight but fat has remained stable, thank you scale!
7/22 - 165.6 - 20,700/144. Got a good evening walk in. If I can find where I put my Costco card I will make the drive for my biweekly trip if not I guess I'll put in another good walk.

7/24 - 162.3 - 57,640 steps 439 minutes 42.06K.🏆 Hit my walk goal Sadly the battery died on my watch or I would have went for 60,000 or even just .10 more as that’s a marathon. Uggghhhhh A man ran to catch up to me and said ‘you walk fast’ and I was at 21k with no music, headphones die too but I can charge those. Feel good this morning had a long hot bath and drank lots of fluids, just an achy ankle

7/16 / 166.4 / Even my husband asked me this morning why my face was so puffy. I had a super long day yesterday- at the final workday corporate event for the Stampede standing on a rooftop patio in hot weather and then a night at the grounds watching live music standing on concrete. Surpassed 20,000 steps again and just did what I needed to avoid heat stroke or dehydration. Off to the lake today.
7/17 / DNW / At the lake and forgot the scale. Supper last night was a nice salad with watermelon and cherries. Got my 10,000 steps and had a nap.
7/18 / 163.8 / Last corporate event for Stampede last night and I went way too hard and hot home way too late. We went and saw Elvis after work today.
7/19 / 165.8 / At the airport to fly back to Ontario to visit my husband's family. Looking forward to enjoying it in the middle of summer as we are usually there more during the shoulder seasons.
7/20 / DNW / Supper and a long walk on the boardwalk when we landed last night. Off to Canada's Wonderland today. So thankful I don't have to worry about fitting on any of the rides.
7/21 / DNW / Unfortunately I am sick again and it's impacted some of our vacation plans. My husband found us a nice suite style apartment for me to lay low at for a few days while I recover.
7/22 / DNW / Had a good night of sleep. Feel pretty good today. We ordered yummy Skip The Dishes last night so I went over my calorie goal. Shouldn't turn to food when I'm feeling sorry for myself but I got caught up in the moment. It happens.
7/23 / DNW / Had a long nap but also went for two super long walks and got over 20,000 steps. I feel pretty good.
7/24 / DNW / We drove to get takeout fish and chips from a favorite childhood spot of my husband's. We also found an amazing donut shop. I walked almost 20,000 steps again. and started my day with veggies so I tried to find balance where I could.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

7/16 352.6 – I thought I was really late and I am not lol. This week has been unreal. After the funeral Thursday I decided to go get tested for COVID and the test came back positive. I feel fine though. I just felt like I had a bad cold. Taking the normal over the counter stuff I would take for a cold and halls lemon cough drops for cough and sore throat. I feel 100% better today. I never missed a day of work since I can work from home. But through it all I manage to stay on track with my food!! Thursday after the funeral I went to get me some good old comfort food but I was so much better than the old days!! Beef barley soup! And a small piece of cheesecake and a breakfast bowl I have been eating off for 2 days now. I will finish it off today. I still have barley soup and a little of the bowl left. Exercise has been terrible, but I will do a workout today since I feel up to it. The doctor told me the reason my symptoms were so minor for COVID was because I was double boosted. I was shocked, I tested positive. But my sister kept urging me to see if I had it. So, I went to an Urgent Care facility that does rapid test results. The gov tests were too complicated for this old girl! What a joke! I get to work from home all next week because I have it. I will retest on Wednesday and hopefully it will be negative. Since I still wear my mask everywhere including at work when I am in the office, I do not think I gave it to anyone, but I do know how I got it.Again, as many have posted on here COVID is still out here and whether you are vaccinated or not be careful and take care yourself. If you don’t believe anything else the numbers tell the story. I bet all of you know someone personally who have had and/or died from COVID. Just like millions have died from the flu, millions have died from COVID and many other diseases. So do you best to stay safe is my only message to you all…. 7/17 352.6 – A friend brought me over food from the BBQ I was supposed to attend yesterday. I ate some of the food yesterday and have some from today and it was yummy. I told her not to bring me too many sweets unless they were worth the calories. I specifically told her no cookies that are great, but I wanted the other stuff. So, I had one dessert yesterday. I am having another one today and the last one tomorrow. The old me, would have been eaten all in one day even if they made me sick which unfortunately in most cases I never got sick. But now I probably would which is another reason I can restrain myself.I feel fine today, so I am really hoping I test negative for COVID on Tuesday. I am going to try for Tuesday since it is more convenient for me to go on Tues vs. Wed

7/21 348.6– Well a lot has happened this week. My Dad has been sick. He has been in the nursing home since February 2018. He never really recovered from my moms death, who died Oct 28th, 2015. She had a 10-year battle with colon cancer. He is now dying and in hospice. I saw him tonight and he look so peaceful. I think my appetite has been off because of COVID and stress. I finally got a chance to see him even though I still tested positive for COVID. They say I am no longer contagious.
7/22 348.6 – So much has been going on, I forgot to celebrate being in the next decade. Bittersweet but I am very happy despite the circumstances. That was my goal this round to get in the next decade.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"

I joined MFP on March 27, 2010, weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO, the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively every day. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Every day I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!!We have the power within us.
