Barbie in NW W-sorry to hear about eye-hopefully it can heal quickly.
Rebecca-your food combinations are something else!
Pip-very cute job on bike. You have done some nifty projects since moving into your current place.
Allie-so if you are set with Cardio for another 6 months are they taking you off transplant list?
Got my 3 mile walk in. Rather leisurely pace but it was gorgeous out this evening.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio3 -
Worked. Jess and Colby went to some sort of pot luck at NC State. Bought gas for the lawn mower then mowed just a little. Had to go to WalMart since Jess wants hamburgers/hot dogs for dinner so I needed to get hamburgers. Just got the premade ones. Normally, I would have made my own but I was running short on time. Then to church. Took my walk around the block. Now making banana chocolate chip cookies.
No work tomorrow so I get to exercise – YEAAAA The plan is to do another section of the Biggest Loser the Workout DVD and then some pilates then hopefully go for a walk around the block.
Beth – I’m so very sorry
Lisa -CRS right now. What caused you to no longer by at the farmer’s market.
It’s really raining now. The thunder is very close. Vince has a flashlight in his pocket. Sometimes he can be such a pessimist!
Rebecca – thanks for the Athena fix. Can she get any cuter???
Flea – great news!!!
Ginny – at Aldi the other day I found these cauliflower crisps. Not bad at all. Personally, I like the cheddar cheese ones best. I thought the sea salt one were a bit on the salty side
barbie – (((HUGS))) Hope things go well at the specialist. When do you see him?
Allie – glad the appt. went well
pip – you are so creative. I don’t think I could have done what you did.
Better post this soon. It’s really thundering.

Worked today then the soup kitchen. Afterwards I needed to stop by Lynette’s to give her some coupons then to WalMart. Then Food Lion for chicken. The price of Vince’s gatorade has gone up!
They were saying at the soup kitchen that the numbers (they serve) are up. At first I thought it was because this is the end of the month, but another lady thinks it’s because food is so expensive that people are coming for a free meal and applying that money towards the gas or electric. Isn’t that sad?
Michele NC
I helped at the food program at my old church with my mom this morning- We have out boxes to over 150 families. I don't know if the numbers are going up beings I am not there that often, just when I go see mom, but I did see quite a few new people filling out the paperwork for it.

Beth, so sorry to hear about your dad. {{{HUGS}}}
Lisa, so happy to hear about Kelsey's divorce!
Allie, glad to hear that your dr visit went well.
Flea, so very happy to hear your good news! Hoping it will continue!
Pip, your patio looks so very inviting! The "bike" looks great!
I popped onto my computer tonight and when I got to the right page, I had full on Athena looking at me! What a sweetie!
Katla, I hope you are adjusting to a new lifestyle and that you are able to be in touch with your hubby on a regular basis.
Machka, I do hope you are still with us, I do appreciate being reminded that this is a public forum and that we should be careful about what we post!
Many, many more posts that I wanted to comment on, but I have been doing a bunch of other stuff and haven't had much time to be on here. I do read everything and cheer and commiserate with you all everyday! Hoping that things will settle down soon, I am down to only two weeks before retirement! Woohoo!!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island (oh so grateful for air conditioning!!)

We have had road works outside our house for the last couple of days. They are gradually moving up the road. You can imagine how happy DH was when they knocked on the door and asked him to move the car!!! He was in the middle of gymming and had to park it further up the road. He managed to avoid parking it under a large tree though. Even though it was a Saturday, the guys were working until about 2.30.pm, digging a huge hole and trench.
It's BT, putting in cables.
Oh well, one day they will be gone. It is a bit of a racket though.
Sorry to hear about uour eye, Barbie. Hoping for a quick fix.
Now to get DH a cup of tea and get ready for our babysitting this morning. Later this afternoon, it is the final of the women's Euro football. England made it all the way. You all remember we went to watch the Norway match in person with the kids. It may be that DH will want to stay and watch it with Edie. I haven't asked him, but it's an idea.

It is raining so we didn't see many people about on our dog walk this morning. It is still quite warm though, never sure what to wear. I could do with a lightweight mac
Last night on our way home from walking Leah we found a little baby mouse on the pavement with a dead sibling. We wondered if we should put baby in the hedge and hope for the best when we noticed another little baby on the grass. No sign of mum, we waited a few minutes then decided to take them home and try to get them to my niece who has looked after wild mice before. We couldn't get in touch with Sam - she wasn't answering her phone. Luckily my DD still has contacts from when she worked at the RSPCA and contacted Helen who rescues wildlife and she gladly took them in. (she was already looking after some bunnies that were almost ready to be released). They were so tiny, Helen has promised to let us know how they are getting on. I'm so glad we didn't leave them, on our way to Helen's there was a rainstorm and I'm sure they wouldn't have survived on their own.
Beth So sorry to hear about your dad and that you didn't get to say goodbye. I know how heartbreaking this is
Flea Great news
Barbie Hope your eye appointment goes well and is nothing too serious.
I've almost recovered from my head cold, and starting to feel back to my usual self, but I've passed it on to my mum - sorry mum.
I think I mentioned that mum had ordered a TENS type pen for her arthritis pain. It arrived a few days ago. She's not sure if it helps or not as she often doesn't know where the pain is in her knees, it's all over rather than in one place. I had a go with the pen on my knee and it HURTS! It was like a strong static shock, how you are supposed to hold it there for 30 seconds I don't know, it almost feels like a burning sensation. Anyway she is dabbing it all over her knee for as long as she can manage - but no where near 30 seconds.
See you next month.
Love to all

We've been replanting sunflowers in bigger pots, or rather, I've been doing it, as I was the only one who had a clue. I'm not optimistic about their future. I've been chatting with the girls about this and that and they excavated my handbag to find my makeup. They both have pink 💋.
Parents are out for 3 hours. It's cloudy and windy, so not perfect weather.
DH is now playing hide and seek while I'm chatting to you on my phone.
Fatto is planned for lunch, but it might be full. The Persian isn't far away.

The girls painted DH'S nails with glittery nail varnish and then dressed him up.
Having a wonderful time.

Heather ~ Your husband is such a trouper! So nice that he plays with the grands!

Super time. How lucky are we.
Max devised a card game that only he could win. Then, while they were playing hide and seek, he programmed Alexa so that their voices were coming from different rooms. Poor DH.
I declined the chocolate and salted caramel ice cream for dessert and just had an espresso, but I had a spoonful of my son's. Yum.
It was nice to have girly talk with Edie. She somehow managed to wrestle the orange skirt that DH was wearing into a stylish dress. Two different versions, both lovely.
Max was in a carb coma after eating ALL his pizza.
We walked home.
DH has a walk/talk/lunch with Max tomorrow then we are picking the girls up from football on Tuesday and they are going to give us a cello and violin recital. 😀 😍

It's my Dad's birthday today. He is 88. He quit his tutoring and his choir this year. But he still mows the lawn and he walks three miles three times a week. He times himself and he fusses if it takes him over an hour. That's so much better than other men his age, most of whom have passed. I got him a new Fire tablet, so we will be setting that up this afternoon.

very thankful part of the road work around here is done- They are still doing the side streets but the one that was really hard to deal with was the one on the court across the street from us. They didn't even start working until 8PM each evening and went one night until exactly midnight. I heard the beep beep of them backing up until right at 12- they can't work after midnight or something, I don't know. I do know I was very tired and just wanted to sleep. Thankful I was on our street and not in the court as the noise would have been so much worse and the flood lights they were using made it brighter than full daylight.
Went to bed early last night as I had only had just over 4 hrs sleep the night before. Worked food program/food bank yesterday morning with mom. Love it but not the hours.
Woke up early, cleaned up the mess from the litter boxes(someone peed outside of them-plenty of boxes but one always goes outside the box-have pads on the floor for him but still a mess if it goes under the pad) and fed all the inside cats- need to feed the outside ones after I get dressed.
I wanted to sleep another hour and a half but as soon as the cats saw I was awake, they wanted to eat.
having my tea and checking in here while I have some extra time.
Church this morning then over to MIL's house- walk the dog and possible help her with her shower. She really needs one but has refused each time we try- one shower since her accident and who knows when she had one before it. I am not going to stress- if she doesn't want to take one- it is on her. We are there to help if she does.
Joined a steps challenge with a zumba friend and some of his friends- M-F so will work a little harder to see how I do.

Barbara! Never thought of BUBBLES!!! We do that at weddings now, along with wild rice. YES, precooked, dried wild rice. Silly Minnesotans!
Well, we're all "trying", Lisa. But probably good that you didn't go out there.
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well Rita. Hope it's just a summer cold, but those are so icky anyway.
OMG, Rebecca! THAT FACE! Just makes me SMILE every time you share. Thank you for that.
Heather, that's just brilliant! One for the graduation poster, for sure. (if you do that kind of thing in the UK) What a treasured memory. That's quite a versatile skirt and quite an imagination! The pizza looks devine... YUM! Sounds like you have your entertainment all set up.
AC is working wonderfully!
Think I told you about going down to my old building and moving the files around. Well, it's done and I'm officially "out". Came home and wrote my old "boss" an email to let her know. (who's technically not really, but the supervisor of the building) She wished me well and said I'll be missed and I'm always welcome to stop in and say hi and they would keep me on the email grouplist so I could stay up on the news since I've been in that building for 12 years. And then I CRIED!
But we did have a wonderful evening last night with some dear friends. Went out to dinner at David Fong's in Bloomington, MN. They're closing after 64 years in business. I remember going there as a kid. It was for special occasions because it was "across the river" so it was a big deal. And Freddy and I went there with his parents a couple times before we had kids. We took the girls there once or twice, but we haven't been back in years. We decided we had to go back, at least once before they closed and our friend Ricky had never eaten there so it was definitely time.
So that's all. Love ya. Carla, in MN3 -
Pip, that's so cute! Nice pop of color!
