Today I was lonely and depressed. It's just me and my son home right now, and it gets tiring having to entertain a 9 year old. I was super low on motivation, but I stuck to my calorie goals and I did some yoga...not the core workout I was supposed to do, but I'm glad I did something to move my body today. I read the book "Healthy as F*%k" a month ago and something that stuck with me is if you can't find the will to follow your whole plan for the day, do a scaled back version of it. So I did yoga instead of my core workout...it still feeds my brain the good endorphins that will help it crave exercise in the future. This week my reward is to read a book by the pool for an hour, but I think I will change that to mini golfing with my sister because she's joined me on this weight loss journey and I think if we do some of our rewards together, that will be a good thing. Tomorrow is a run day, it was painful last time, but we'll see if I can do it. I'm also going to a movie with a friend, so the run will help me have calories to eat popcorn if I want to:) Blessings on you all!6

🌞 August Goals! 🌞
🧡 August GW: We're shooting for 183 again! ✅
🧡 New August GW: 180
🧡 Log everything in grams ✅
🧡 Do at least three pole classes a week ✅
🧡 More than 100g protein every day ❌ I think I was only under one day this week, though
🧡 No doomscrolling after 7PM each night ✅
🧡 At least 64oz of water a day✅
I'm happy with this loss, given last week's was enormous. I'm just glad I'm not bouncing around right now, pretty steady.
Last night at the gym was a tough workout, that floorwork class. Tiny little muscles, that one worked, so I'm sore again this morning, even though the workout wasn't as high-impact as some others I take. I'm having a hard time seeing the progress in my splits, although I'm sure there is progress. I need to practice more at home, outside of class.
Tonight is pizza and beer! I'm so excited, can't wait. And I don't know yet what I'll do to unwind today, but I have lots of options: knitting, playing Bear and Breakfast, catching up on my Youtube Watch Later list, playing Destiny, doing all those things at once, etc lol. I do know I want to run my routine a couple times through before I relax, to see if a couple points can be improved.
I talked to my gym friend about the chair instructor who said such nice things to me the other day, and my friend said that the instructor had pulled her aside just to make sure she got what she needed out of the poles class. So the instructor's compliments aren't for everyone, she's not, like, smothering everyone with compliments, which I thought when it happened- that she was complimenting everyone in her classes to ensure we stuck with it.
Which is kind of a weird thing for me to think, I guess. I don't trust when people compliment me. I should probably do a therapy about it, lol. But so, because of my talk with my gym friend last night, I trust that the instructor's compliments to me were genuine, which makes me happy. And I mean- she didn't say I was doing amazing or anything, just that I worked hard and was enthusiastic, which, fair.
Also, my gym friend is going to do a routine for showcase, too! So that's exciting. She's going to modify our instructor's latest routine to fit a different song, and she's thinking about props, lol. I'm excited to see what she does with it.
@15822 definitely! I used to freak out about going over calories, and now I'm like, meh, still under TDEE tho, lol.
@mshawski Past You was planning for this scenario, lol. Nothing like a cute new sports bra! Or two!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 I hear you on being up late and wanting to snack. Lack of sleep makes me soooooo hungry.
@sargemarcori I hate when dinner doesn't quite hit that "satiated" spot. I hoard recipes that I know do hit that spot like treasure, haha.
@TeacherMamaJen mini golf sounds so fun! And it's so cool that you and your sister are both on the weight loss train at the same time, you've got a built in accountability partner!
Have a great Friday everyone, almost to the weekend!
geez I haven't checked in with Hula Girl in a while, look at her go!

I have a little under 3 weeks until I change jobs and I have one big paper to finish before then and a presentation to make on what I've done that I'll talk about on the 30th. I just finished version 2 of the paper so my boss can have a look and give me some feedback and then I'll use her feedback for one more version that will go to my supervisor who will give me feedback on the 29th so I expect it to be some last tiny nitpicky changes and then the presentation and I'll be done.
It feels a lot like university, except we're encouraged to plagiarise as much as possible. I work for the government so some of our stuff goes to the ministers/politicians in charge and they like consistency. If you say the same thing in the same words time and time again, it will stick. If a colleague wrote something perfectly before, you leave it as is and only modify it to fit into your piece. It took a while to get used to this but I like it. I always hated needing to paraphrase long quotes or summarise whole chapters because the author wrote it down so well. Now I don't have to.
This timing also means I have nothing to do between now and thursday morning. I could work on the presentation but that's maybe 3 hours of work and then maybe one more hour the day of or the day before. I'm no good at memorising, I need to understand the topic and then just talk about it. I typically have notes that create some order in the chaos but there's nothing of substance on paper. The weather is lovely so maybe I'll just hang out outside with my work phone and a nice book.
Now it's time for the gym. 2 more workouts for a total of 9 this week. I didn't get enough sleep so I'm sleepy but most of my muscles feel okay or tired, not really sore. Only my triceps feel really sore. I did a scaled down version of box dips wednesday and jerks yesterday so that's no surprise. My wrists are also not in the best shape but they could be worse. Next week I'm back to max. 7 workouts so this is okay. I'll rest this weekend.
I'm also totally about that 'if the weekly average is below TDEE, I'm good' kinda life. Any loss counts, right?
Time to get dressed, good thing I pre-wrote the tags. Have a nice weekend everyone!
@mshawski 100%. I had a short coworker once guess 90kg... when I was well over 110kg 😂 she was omfg no way.
I'm really curious to find out what my bone structure actually is. I have a feeling I'm kinda wide and with wide hips too because I can feel all that stuff there and I'm still big but I have literally no data on what I look like at a "normal" weight except when I was a baby, or below 90kg as an adult. I have old pictures but not that many since instagram only got widely used starting 2012 and I wasn't immediately on trend so I have very few full body shots of my teen self or even my adult self. I had a few measurements from I wanna say around when I was 18 but that only captures about 2 months of my life and I don't remember where I put it. This was also a low-exercise year for me so it's not at all useful.
@CupcakeCrusoe omg a new low again, congrats!
Progress with splits is a lot like weightloss, not linear at all. Some days you're stiff for no reason and you get nowhere near what you normally can do, sometimes you seem to plateau in the same spot for days/weeks until suddenly you can go much deeper. Practicing more at home is a good idea but not seeing progress isn't failure. I hadn't done much stretching for a few weeks and suddenly when I got back my split was deeper than it was before my break. I guess try to be patient.1 -

yesterday my dinner was not terribly satisfying, so I ate more dinner, and then more. Sigh. I'm happy to call it even!
just remember your fit bit is giving you only an estimate . Just like apple watches numbers are off. I wore two trackers to experiment and both provided me with different numbers. Just a friendly reminder to remain mindful .0 -

So my lease is coming to an end in November, and a place I'm seriously considering has a start date in October (about 1 month overlap). It's about 0.8 miles (1.3 km) away from where I currently live, so I decided I'd just walk over and check out the neighborhood. It's cute! Have a tour set up tomorrow morning and planning on walking to the place again. Got to get in an over 1.5 mile walk this morning too!4

We got a dog! He is a bit of an escape artist (that's the hound in him, he just wants to explore everything!) and is a very handsome boy. Meet Sergeant Pickles!
And here is why he is named this:
"Why did you call him Sergeant?" asked my eldest son.
"Because he has his stripes," I said.
"So," he said with a grin, "What's his division?"
"Artillery," I said, "Note the red harness and leash."
"Why artillery?"
"Because he drops gas bombs on unsuspecting civilians."

It has been a while since I have gotten on here and I did read all the posts since last time I posted so I didn’t try to tag everyone and in fact wasn’t planning to tag at all but did some.
Life seems to be picking up (pace) lately despite being unemployed. I have applied to enough jobs that I have been getting interviews. As to the 2nd interview I felt good about it. I knew I was #2 going in to it and wondered why I even got an interview. It turns out they interviewed the top 2. Now they are asking for my references which would ordinarily be a good sign but I think they could be doing that for 2 people though usually employers only do that for the top candidate. Either the top 2 are very close or they just think that is the way to go or maybe I did beat out the top one. I felt my interview wasn’t so good as to knock the top candidate out of the running and that they would need to have blown theirs for me to get the job. Anyway yesterday I took a 6 hour online training that will help me get the job that is opening up this fall at my last place of employment so I am ready for that. I have an interview while I am in Hawaii for the funeral for some other city. In the mean time I have been going to the dentist (already went to the eye Dr) but my teeth cleaning isn’t until September! Next week I have a Drs. appointment and a lunch with a friend before I leave. So this weekend I will be packing. I need to get my surface pro ready for the trip. I bought it while I was working since I think my old laptop is dying but it is easier for me to use since I am used to it and it is all set up. So I have to pack my new laptop/surface for the trip since I have an interview while I am there. Usually my kindle and my phone is all I take on a trip. I am not even employed so why work remotely while I am gone? However you need your own device to watch movies on the flight with this airline so it will be good to have it. It fits into my big travel purse. My youngest replaced my ear phones for me since they were always borrowing mine.
I asked my son about when we could come and meet our grandson after they get back from the hospital. I suggested the original due date which is almost a month and a half after he would be born. I wanted them to have some time. His mother-in-law is there to help out. He said that December was better and he wants us to quarantine for 5 days before interacting with the baby and be without masks. So that sounds like an exciting Christmas. I may even have a job by then and might need to work remotely while in quarantine. It is a different world but I think it is good to give this new family a lot of time to transition. They plan to move back here eventually so I am fine with waiting. I have a lot to do like remodel our kitchen etc. so they can visit here when they move. I guess I am prioritizing getting caught up with health care visits before fixing the house. I was starting to do this last summer but that is when I found the breast cancer so I had to concentrate on that.
As to weight loss I am staying low in general but when we get heat waves the exercise is not happening. I am not cooking as much but when I do it is pretty healthy. I am making some of my recipes without salt and leaving out any red meat. I left the Italian sausage out of the spaghetti sauce and due to the salt I didn’t replace it with chicken Italian sausage. I am looking ahead as to how to make my chili when the fall weather starts. This weekend I will be making avgolemeno soup. The homestyle version has a few more vegetables and I use a whole chicken so it isn’t just rice in it. I also will use brown rice. So it should be healthy. I think that is one of our favorite soups. However thinking about it makes me remember tortilla soup. That may be my next attempt at no salt/no red meat recipe transitions once I am back.
@mmdeveau I did read your car rant to the end. I kept thinking about how we barely use our cars now that we are working remotely etc. We have to take our new Subaru in for its 1st check up and it is way under mileage for the number of months. I remember we were always over mileage on our Honda Odyssey not only did we drive it from Houston to Seattle but we had long commutes. That is something I am considering in the jobs I am applying to. I can see why you are upset with this car. Our car issues have always being hit by others and having our cars totaled just after we had paid them off! Car insurance doesn’t reimburse you for what I good car that doesn’t have car payments is worth not what it takes to replace such a car. Anyway we have one car paid off but since we don’t drive as much we haven’t been hit yet. There are 3 drivers in our household.
@tahitig glad you had a good trip to Alaska. The thing is not to compare yourself with others. This is true for weight loss but for almost everything in life. Do you look better, fitter, healthier than the last wedding you went to? That is what is important. It is a race you are running by yourself for yourself and against the old self with the wrong unhealthy attitudes and habits. It isn’t a race with others who have nothing to do with your progress in life or have the same genes, history, body type, family situation etc. See yourself now the way you want to be. Tell yourself you are that person you want to be or the wedding guest you want to be. That tells your brain how to help you get there. Make a goal and vision for yourself that is based on what you want for yourself not by comparing yourself to others. If the wedding motivates you, good. But don’t let it make you feel bad about yourself. If it isn’t helping to motivate you, use something that is more positive to help motivate you. It isn’t really about motivation as much as just doing it. Don’t wait for the wedding to be who you want to be. Be that person now. Be now who you want to be. Hopefully, it is a person who loves themselves to take care of themselves and makes small improvements every day or every week or every month. Improvement is really what it is all about not comparisons with others. You met your goal for your trip to Alaska. Yay! Enjoy it and keep going.
@kenziestabes the heat is definitely a factor in my exercise lately too.
@Alatariel75 I hear people who get COVID recently and are saying it wasn’t so bad just 2 bad days. They don’t seem to take some of our concerns about getting it seriously as before. They don’t wait until they are not contagious to go out. What I have said was yes you got away cheap but not everyone does. I am glad that our rates are finally going down here and we just got into the low range but the hospitalizations are on the increase. They are lagging behind right? However this surge is lower for deaths. So I really don’t want to be the one going to the hospital or the one who is exhausted for weeks and weeks after. So I have stayed vigilant. When you get sick you need to stop and deal with that. When you are feeling better you need to really listen to your body and take the time it needs to recover. The weight loss is not on the forefront. If you are taking care of yourself, you are eating right and you are doing what exercise your body is ready for. That isn’t going to hurt you in the end to do that. That is what losing weight is for, getting healthy so this is not really any different. However it is disappointing to have a stupid bump in the road. Just keep on taking care.
@CupcakeCrusoe I like that you have dealt with making your calorie goals more sustainable. I do have really low calorie days sometimes. They are days when that is easy for me. Often I have a good breakfast and don’t really need much until dinner. However my calorie goals are similar to yours. Yesterday I went over my calorie goal quite a bit but when I checked I was under maintenance calories. Yes my weight was up today but like you I know it is just a part of my normal variations and it is a lower high than I was having a week or 2 ago.
@sargemarcori I think I like the girl who has finally lost one pound since May.
@mshawski l loved the ordering clothes online story. When I ordered I got something I didn’t order and one thing was missing. Everything was too large but most I could wear and they might shrink over time but 2-3 things were way too big and too long?!? I am regular height and I don’t remember ordering anything tall but who knows. Some things I ordered I didn’t like as much as I thought I would but I knew they were an experiment and it was my bad. Then I had to go to the store for a dress for this upcoming trip. My size is getting a bit loose for me so that answered some of the above and I was able to get what works better for me than the experiments. Much better outcome all around.
@AlexxandraFindsHerself I have had weeks this summer I mostly just concentrated on the calories in and not the calories out since we have unusually hot weather here. Sleep is important though. Cute new dog!
@TeacherMamaJen What I liked about your post was you were honest about your challenges but it seemed that you are doing the right things to address them like revising things in a healthier direction, getting together with friends and working on weight loss with your sister when you feel lonely. Blessings to you too.

I'm starting to get REALLY tired of my normal food. I tend to eat the same thing every day of the week, and probably only alternate between a few things between weeks. All of it is starting to taste like stale sadness, so I'm spending my afternoon going through my old food diary entries from when I had a lot of success between 2019 and 2020 to see what I was eating then and perhaps I've forgotten about something I like that would be yummy to put back into rotation.
The other factor is all of my protein sources are either impossible to find, or like HELLA expensive right now. A carton of egg whites has doubled in price, and my meat substitutes are very hard to come by these days. I wish living on nothing but macaroni and butter was healthy, my accounts would be much happier.
After posting this i came back to edit and say I realize it's just a random thought blurb and it's a smidge out of nowhere with no context, but that's all I'm mentally capable of today so it is what it is 😂😂😂4 -

oh yeah, not planning on trying to eat right at that number! I'm going to be trying to eat a good 1k calories BELOW it for a long time yet. I was just amused to hit it right on.

Talked my partner into going on a bike ride after work yesterday. Picked national cycle route 75, which lead to Uddingston (just imagine a questioning tone as I wonder if that's how you pronounce that and why would they call it that). The goal was to have a coffee and maybe a panini at the destination, but I found Uddingston nightlife somewhat lacking - the sushi place served tacos, the Italian place was eye wateringly expensive and the pizza place only did takeout. We ended up going to a tapas place, which was a very big adventure as my autistic boyfriend was very anxious about the unfamiliar dining experience as I assured him I'll guide him through it. Well after the first order arrived he absolutely loved it (it was goooooood) and we ended up ordering 2 more times and had a fantastic evening.
The ride itself was also a success - we saw two cats, two foxes, a badger (?) and a rat. Also I'm finally fitter than him! It had always deeply upset me that despite having been to the gym exactly once before we met, he can run faster and longer than me, lift heavier things and cycle faster even though I've been exercising my entire life. Well no more! He had to cycle in the front otherwise he couldn't keep up with me. Win!
I also expressed some unladylike opinions loudly and confidently toward a taxi that stopped right in the designated cycle lane. I will be sure to mention this fact of assimilation in my permanent residence application next month.0 -

I missed last week, and yesterday too. Thinking Fridays probably aren't the best day for me to check in, so I will be going back to Saturdays. Sadly nothing much to report over the last couple weeks. I have been working alot, from home, and having a hard time getting my steps in. Next week my kids head back to school, but I still have no idea what school they will be going to. I hope they get into the closest schools to us (about a mile away) so we can walk/ride at least occasionally as I really enjoyed that part of my day at my last house. Slowly getting back into the right mindset. Glad to see so many of you doing great with some amazing accomplishments!
So, starting small again, my goals for August are:
- remain within 100 calories of my goal at leat 5x per week ❌️ only 4
- 8 glasses water daily ✔️
- 6000 steps daily ❌️1 -
Good afternoon everyone!
181.6 again this morning, which is cool.
The gym today was fun, we did a choreography where we did chair AND pole at the same time, which was both fun and terrifying! Here are some stills:
My fan kicks are getting higher! And when I needed to come down from the chair, (from the butt shot, lol, to the knee-on the pole, one foot on the ground shots), I felt fine with my legs that far apart.
I discovered today that I love a carton of coconut water (especially with pineapple juice in it) after my workout. Like an adult juicebox, lol. But it's a relatively cheap treat that I always feel I've earned on my drive home. Speaking of after-workout treats, I have just enjoyed an incredible cheeseburger I made, mmmmm.
Tag party time!
@bojaantje3822 you're absolutely right about progress not being linear. I'm naturally impatient, lol, so when I don't look as good at something as I feel (or don't feel as good at something as I feel like I "should" be, that impatience rears its head, lol. I am working on being kind to myself about my workout progress.
I hope you're having a good rest, don't want to stress those wrists.
@kenziestabes ooh, new place! Exciting!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 omg the baby! 🥺🥺🥺 so sweet!
@KeriA that does sound incredibly busy! I'm glad you're getting this time to take care of all your medical things. It's so time-consuming, so easier to do now, before the new job.
@mshawski looking back on previous meals that fit your goals is a great plan! Share your favorites, so we can all peep.
@sargemarcori look at you goooooooooooo YESSSS
@15822 you yelling at a taxi as proof of your residency made me lol. And all those animals you saw! Also yes, loving that feeling of being able to out-exercise your athletic boyfriend, haha!
@lmgoff232 oh man, school starting up is always stressful! Hopefully you get some time to take care of yourself in all the craziness.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

I'm having a restful weekend. I did some basic household chores and nothing else. It's been 32 degrees C both days so I've just been lounging with some books and tv shows and podcasts.
I have been hungrier this past month or so and my calories have consistently been 2700-2900 so a little higher than usual. It's good to know so I don't expect too much loss after my no-weigh month. I caved a few days in and weighed anyway but since then I haven't felt the urge. I don't want to fear the scale but I don't want to obsess over it either and I noticed that it was getting a bit obsessive so this break was necessary. My gym performance has been great with these extra calories, even though I pushed myself a little harder, and my body is still changing bit by bit. Mostly I'm just enjoying hot girl summer feeling comfortable in my skin. I've mostly been wearing shorts and crop tops, the occasional dress outside and legging shorts and sports bras at the gym. It's gonna cool off next week so I'll go back to full length leggings and tops.
I did order one more set of workout clothes... it's a work in progress.2 -
Morning gang.
Unsurprising to anyone who was watching my trip down the slippery slope last week, I completely crapped out, had an all the food weekend and while I haven't got on the scale, if I haven't undone every single pound I lost since I started back, I'll be amazed.
But I'm determined to get back on track this week, I'm giving myself grace to not weigh until Wednesday, and that will be an official weigh in and plug it into MFP day.
I realised I needed a bit of a helping hand and got back on my antidepressants, also.
Goals for this week- 8k steps on office days
- 20 minutes Ring Fit on non office days
- Meal plan and stick to it Mon - Fri afternoon (seeing old friends for dinner Friday night so I can't really plan ahead)
- Get back on track Sat and not let the weekend derail me
2 -
Good morning everyone!
182.6 this morning, unsurprising since I ate pretty much at maintenance all weekend and didn't drink enough water. No big, back to water and deficit today.
Tonight is a triple-feature at the gym, all chairs, all the time, lol, first the conditioning class, then the workshop/office hours type class, then the choreo class. I'm excited for all of them, I need to get ready for the showcase next month, and there are no chair classes next week.
Tag party time!
@bojaantje3822Mostly I'm just enjoying hot girl summer feeling comfortable in my skin.
@Alatariel75 good for you for recognizing the need for a return to meds. There's nothing wrong with store-bought serotonin.
Have a great day, everyone!2 -
Hey all!!!! We left for vacation on Wednesday afternoon and just got home late last night. I found out a bunch of stuff was shaken up at work on my 2 days off and I'm still trying to get things in order. I'll read everyones posts at some point but it won't be today. I've been logged in since 6:30am and if we weren't going to meet the teacher this afternoon (first day of school is tomorrow) I would probably stay logged in pretty late too. It's rare that happens..... but this is definitely one of those weeks. EEK!!!!!
Dollywood, Splash Country and other assorted Pigeon Forge activities were a blast though!

Weekly goals:
-At least 2 day at gym - 1 cardio, 1 strength
-64 oz of water each day
-LOG FOOD!
-Try out carb cycling
Carb and thus calorie cycling seems to be helping get the scale moving. Going to start trying my program's exercise sessions this week. My gym was closed last week for remodeling so couldn't go the one day I had wanted but glad I went Tuesday; especially to see they were closing for the rest of the week.
Frozen musical was great. They changed one piece that's more prominent in the second movie but it works better for the musical than what does happen in the first movie. Also a joke that's part of the second.
Mom had a tire issue so she'll be leaving tomorrow instead of yesterday. So a bit more back/forth for me. More restaurants than usual but going back to my usuals that were always helpful.2 -
I've had a fibro flare all weekend, so I've just tried to keep the pain munchies to a minimum, and to keep moving to keep from stiffening up.
We've started to take the dog with us for a car ride when we go to drop Boyfriend off at work or pick him up from work, and that's really fun. I look forward to the delivery of a better harness and short lead for him so he can learn to walk nicely, because part of the reason I wanted a dog was to walk with him. At the moment he pulls like a freight train, but I think a better fitting harness (he has a narrower hound neck and a mastiff chest and a mastiff head) will help. He's a good boy overall, though, so I'm not worried about it. I'll figure out a solution at some point that breaks him from the ALL THE SMELLS trance when he steps out the door.1 -

This is an interesting comment. I'm new to fibromyalgia (well, new to the label of it) and I've been trying to figure out how to word when and why sometimes I just need to munch on things during flare ups when talking to my rheumatologist, and I think "pain munchies" is the term I've been looking for. Thank you for sharing that. I can also totally related to the dog pulling like a freight train. Our 11 month old lab mix does not care about dislocating shoulders when he needs to investigate a squirrel. LOL.1 -
I saw 185 on the scale this morning. I'm exactly 20 pounds from goal. Hoping to get to goal before next summer. Once I'm under 170, I'm focusing on muscle development.5

I overdid it today. I didn't sleep well last night due to the humidity and temperatures, was sick to my stomach (90% sure it's related to my period), I'm on my period and it sucks, I was somewhat dehydrated and all of those things conspired to also give me a headache.
Then I did 2 workouts. The trainer told me it's okay not to do the second one and I should've listened but I didn't want to shuffle wednesday's schedule around to fit in the gymnastics class then.
The first workout was tough but I pushed myself a little more than I should've but I'd honestly blanked on the gymnastics class. Normally I save some energy for it but due to my state of mind I completely forgot. And then we had a strength tempo part as well that was way harder than expected and I got a bit dizzy ngl.
The skills part of the gymnastics class was fine.
The first part of the strength part was great.
The second part of the strength part got me questioning my life choices.
The accessory part really had me questioning my sanity so I stopped after 2 of the 3 sets.
I normally sweat a lot but this was next level. There was a permanent layer of sweat on my body, I was constantly wiping it out of my eyes and off my upper lip, my forehead and neck were dripping. I looked like I'd just been caught in a hige rainstorm but didn't dry up for 2 hours. I'm still sweating.
I also kinda mismanaged my food today so I didn't eat nearly enough before exercising and I got so hungry I felt like puking. I'm gonna take some dextro energy and start cooking and hopefully that will be that. Then shower afterwards.
I'm not proud of this evening but I think it's important to be transparent. I think I can get away with this behaviour because I'm young and very fit but it also shows I can be somewhat of a fool and things could've been disastrous if my circumstances had been less optimal.
Oh yeah, one of the books I read yesterday was good imo and I wanna recommend it to fantasy lovers. It's Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan. I don't typically empathise with royals but I liked this book.
Today I read Emma Lord's You have a match, which is lighthearted and cute, mostly. It does have some HP references that make me cringe but it was just an easy, turn my brain off read and that's what I needed. Her writing style matches my brain's needs so I'm mentioning it in case you see it for like a dollar or for free somewhere.
I kinda sorta didn't do any work today because I finished all my work on friday and I have 2 weeks left at this place so I just relaxed and took it easy.0 -

Oh, someone else gets pain munchies too! I thought I was the only one.
I honestly think that his pulling is why my wrists are currently so very sore. It's kind of a vicious cycle; he pulls so much when we do go out walking that it makes me sore, then I can't do any walking while I heal up, and he gets all this pent up energy from not going out so he pulls again when we do go out....1 -
I cheated today. I was feeling different but when I measured myself it showed me the top end of the range so at the gym I weighed myself even though I said I wouldn't. It said 122,5kg. I've officially lost 15,5kg and my bmi is now exactly 40. This is the border between 3rd class and 2nd class obesity so yay me. It's a low on the scale but I am on the last day of my period, I'm a little sore and I've eaten breakfast before weighing in so I think it's safe to assume I've crossed the border into class 2.
For the lbs people, that's approximately 269.5lbs so down into the 260s, yay. My starting weight was around 303.6lbs so that's a 34lb loss.
It took 28 weeks and 2 days to get here. I assume it'll take more time to lose to the next class, which is at 107kg/235ish lbs, another 15,5kg/34lbs away. (Funny that my heaviest known weight is proportionally above the 3rd obesity class as the difference between 1 and 2 and overweight and 1. It's a complete coincidence.) I should be down to class 1 around my sister's bday in april if I keep a 1lb a week loss. Very exciting.
I do feel okay physically after yesterday's madness. Only my back feels a bit off and I'm a bit sore but I was energetic enough at my morning pilates class. Unfortunately work will be getting in the way of my morning pilates from next week onwards but it was always temporary.
Tonight's oly class and I saw thar it would be power snatches and overhead squats at low weights (up to 70% of 1rm iirc) so I should be okay.
Tonight's dinner is leftover wraps. I almost ate tonight's dinner yesterday because I was so hungry but I managed to stop myself on time. I sat with my hunger, had another liter of water, and woke up extremely hungry. I'm still hungry now. I had enough food on paper, both calorie-wise and amount-wise but I keep getting hunger cues that don't go away with drinking water so I'll try to eat little amounts throughout the day to still the worst of it and eat close to maintenance so I don't feel too bad. So frustrating. I think my hormones are to blame.3 -

After posting this i came back to edit and say I realize it's just a random thought blurb and it's a smidge out of nowhere with no context, but that's all I'm mentally capable of today so it is what it is 😂😂😂
I totally understand. I literally plan meals for every week. i try my best not to repeat the same meals two weeks in a row. I did eggs and sausage one month straight for breakfast i said nope switching up and I did i found bacon at sam's 4 pre cooked slices 70 calories they are thin as heck but I get a taste of bacon and eggs. I switched up chicken breast for chicken thighs. I will venture back to Tuna soon enough because it's better for my budget. I am switching between frozen veggies and canned veggies Walmart has bags of veggies between .88-.98 and it works perfectly for the budget. I switched stores. So I said all of that to say don't give out get out there do research and mix it up with both stores and food.0 -
@sargemarcori gotcha totally get it. Good luck keep us posted.0

hello to everyone, another week to get under our belts
My goal this week is simply to stay on track if that makes sense. My goal is to lose 1-2lbs this week but I am learning to understand the scale does not dictate my success but how my body is feeling. I think my last stall taught me that. I went two weeks without a drop then dropped 5lbs that next week. I think I will see that trend at times due to me focusing on strength training. I do cardio at times but my focus i strength training in hopes that I don't have that much loose skin as I lose weight and I want to look tone.2 -
Good morning everyone!
Back to 181.6 this morning, which is cool.
The gym was good last night, I did a dive for the first time! So a dive starts here, in scorpion:
And you push your legs apart along the sides of the chair moving your butt downward until your feet hit the floor and you push your upper body up so you end straddling the chair, but facing forward rather than backward. I can't find a good picture, I'm going to have to take a picture when I do it again.
My legs have so many bruises today, goodness. But that all makes sense- between my soft human body and a chair, we know which is going to give first, lol.
The instructor came over to do a one-on-one about the twist I was trying to do starting with my butt in the back of a folding chair, legs up in a pike (both together straight up), then twist legs left, and swing my left leg over the top of the chair while flipping my body over, right leg folded to one side, so that my stomach is on the chair, then snake out of it onto the floor. Also hard to find a picture of and describe, another thing to take a picture of. But she gave me some good advice, and some conditioning exercises to do. Now I have to, like, do the conditioning in order to make it look good. And when I got out, my coconut water with pineapple juice was waiting for me, yummm.
I left my afternoon protein bar at home today, so I'm going to staaaaaarve, lol. Just means extra big dinner or dessert for me, I guess! There's 200 calories I'm not using today that I'd planned for.
Tag party time!
@pamperedlinny tough week! Love the picture though, looks like you guys had a blast. And that HAT! I love it!
@sarah12277 I'm glad to hear your plan is working for you, love when that happens!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Definitely a good harness helps a lot. I bet the pup loves all those car rides!
@mshawski my family always had labs, and their pulling ability to dislocate shoulders is no joke, haha!
@kenziestabes yesss another milestone!
@bojaantje3822 bad workouts happen sometimes, I'm glad you're feeling better. And way to go on the loss! That's great news! The hormonal/TOM hunger is real, for me, at least.
@ktilton70130 good for you switching it up in a cost-effective way! I'm very fortunate that I've got a very high tolerance for eating the same foods every day, so every week it's frozen chicken breasts and egg whites, for breakfast and lunch, and whatever veg is in my garden, haha.
Have a great day, everyone!
