@LisaInArkansas
Thanks for that...
I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning (if that wasn't already obvious) along with a splitting headache and I've been in a hell of a mood ALL day...from grumpy, to emotional, back to grumpy and now I have another headache on top of everything
I feel bad as I have yet to catch up on all the comments that were left over the weekend..
I read two comments this morning then got up to grab some tylenol only to come back and notice that my satellite connection was down. The surrounding storms are really messing up my satellite signal. By the time it came back up I was too grumpy to try and read through the rest of the comments and try and remember who said what so that I could leave a little response for everyone.
It also FEELS like it's 9 o'clock at night right now and it's only barely 4:30pm in the afternoon.
Just a weird day all around.
Hubby got called out AGAIN just about 30 minutes ago for another flash flood run. 🙄
At least he got to eat something before heading back out...
Thinking that it was later than it really was..I ended up make dinner way earlier than usual.
Bacon and cabbage stir fry..probably the best part of my day so far.
Only 3 simple ingredients (bacon, mini sweet peppers and fresh green cabbage) with no other added seasonings or oils. Just throw the bacon and peppers in the pan...let is cook down so the bacon is crispy and then toss in the cabbage. I'm always amazed at how incredibly flavorful this skillet dish tastes with only these 3 ingredients...
Hopefully I will wake up in a better mood tomorrow...if not, I'll just leave you all an 'emoji' or two.

Different ladies use numbers, or emojis to "bookmark" their place, maybe how far they read etc. Pip uses random numbers to keep us guessing😁🙃😂!
By the way that bacon, pepper, cabbage dish sounds amazing!

L in the Mojave Dessert For several reasons I live a somewhat isolated life and I love reading this thread every morning and being involved in the lives of other women. I don't feel alone and I find out what others are dealing with. Sometimes I respond and other times all I do is post an emoji but I love this supportive community.
Lately I've been traveling from the safety of my own house by watching YouTube videos. It has been great.

I found myself scrolling back through the comments to see if 79 78 were just random numbers or what, and I found 80
@KJLaMore
I just now read your comment and question to me that you left yesterday with regards to what it is I do out here in the boonies. The photos you shared of the children are adorable. ❤️❤️
Our grand daughter was also fitted with a 'helmet' for several months when she was a baby...
Here she is, back then with her helmet and now at 2 years old.
oh my gosh, I'll tell you what...you can have the worst headache or crappiest day, but looking at photos of your grand babies makes ALL of the crappiness just melt away....
Anyways...back to your question. I actually do NOT read a lot (I scored a big fat ZERO in that reading quiz from a few days ago)....well at least that was until I joined this thread,😂 🤣
I now do a lot of scrolling and reading, haha
Up until a few years ago I was burning a LOT of wood...
I'm a PYROgrapher (not to be confused with PHOTOgrapher)...well, WAS a pyrographer.
Not so much these days 😔😔 I had my own business burning everything from custom portraits of children, dogs and animals, to plaques, furniture and all sorts of things. I wood burned everything by hand..FREE HAND. I enjoyed it so very much...

It kept me busy, this in between homeschooling my boys through high school. (9th grade thru 12th grade)
Long story short, I had a stroke which caused a great deal of weakness in my right hand and arm making it hard to continue the 'custom' work I was doing for my customers. I didn't give it up completely.. I
occasionally tinker with different projects here and there.
I've been working on this for quite sometime..I work on it a few minutes, sit it down and come back to it a few weeks later. In all honestly, since I had the stroke, I don't get as much joy as I used to from wood burning....but it's okay.
I also enjoy creating my own exercise routines and choreographing them to music. (making my own mix tapes..old school, haha) I have no doubts I look like a right ol' ninny dancing around my livingroom to my mix tapes but it helped me burn calories and will ultimately help me get to 1derland99.

Just a couple pictures to show you what I have been up to lately! I have been helping out at my daughter's horse ranch! In the first picture if you magnify it you can see me down at the very end of the aisle! The second picture my daughter took of me as we were walking the horses back to the barn. 🐎

Karen we have been going through our storage containers and I found quite a few old pictures!

L - Lovely work! I had a good, long look through your website. So sorry the stroke has taken some of the joy out of it.
You have reminded me, I must do more dancing. Now the heatwave has broken, I will have a go.
Of course, I am awake in the middle of the night, but, heh, why shouldn't I be!?
I love your photos, Mary. It looks so GREEN where you are! We are just parched, withered and yellow. Still no rain down here. Hopefully, tonight, or tomorrow.
Much love to all, and a huge thank you for all the support.

Thanks, Karen, for posting the Kindle cover.
The paperback is now live, with a slightly different design.
I have to choose from various templates they provide, so my photo is spread over the spine.
It is nice to have an actual book to look at!

Rebecca I’ve just read your post, I too have trouble with consistency. I start things with such enthusiasm only to fizzle out like a damp squib. I can’t even be consistent tracking/logging my food onto MFP. I look forward to reading suggestions and maybe put them into action.
I wonder if baby steps would help (this has helped me so much getting my house under control) Maybe I should start just logging one meal a day and when I am consistent with that, add in another meal. I might give that a try.
Exercise is another thing I really need to get consistent with too. My knee pain flares up if I do too much though, so I have to be careful what exercise I do.
Good luck with your goals, let us know how you are getting on.
Heather congratulations on the book.
My DD also called Heather has published a book on Amazon. It’s more for children, although I am enjoying reading it. She started writing it when she was around 14, she went back to it every few years and only decided to get serious about publishing a few years ago. It needed a lot of editing but she finally published it last year. She is hoping to get the second book published later this year.
We got caught in a thunder storm last night. We got soaked to the skin, our own fault, we should have walked Leah earlier. DD tried to take a photo of the lightening but it was too quick for her, it started off as light rain and we both thought it was quite nice and cooling, but then it came down in torrents and it was not so nice! We called it a day after about half an hour and dashed back to the car to go home.
Have to pop to the chemist this morning to get a sample kit for my mum, the district nurse is due a visit to give her an enema, poor mum.
Welcome newbies.
Better make a move. Take care and love to all

Regarding exercise ...
I incorporate exercise into my day, most days.
Part of my commute to and from work is walking.
At lunch, I go for a walk to do errands or just to get out in the fresh air for a while, and away from my computer.
I work in a multi-storey office building so I climb stairs. In fact, the way my current building is set up, the toilets are between floors so I do half a flight every time I've got to go to the toilet!
That's not a lot of exercise, but better than nothing.
Today, for example, I walked 3.3 km and climbed 7 flights of 20 stairs (about 45 minutes and 245 calories in total). That 3.3 km was all "errand walking". I booked an appointment at a clinic for my feet issues, stopped in at Officeworks to pick up a resin epoxy pour kit and acrylic paints, and stopped in at an OP shop to have a quick look at the books, and found a Richard Beasley book. I was pleased with my finds and that I got it all done within an hour.
Tomorrow, my lunch walk won't be so long ... just to the podiatrist clinic and back plus my commute walking = 2.2 km. I'll have to climb a few more stairs.
In addition to incorporating exercise into my day, I also deliberately spend time exercising. This hasn't been as often as it should be over this winter, but as spring comes, hopefully I'll do more.
For the newcomers and those of us who have been here a while ... what is your favourite sport or exercise.
My favourite is front and centre there ... cycling. But I like a lot of the other choices. And you?

Heather...Congrats on the book! I will find it today. Thankfully I have read this month's book club selection so am free to read what I want this month!
Barbie...I am 63 and when I am 76 I hope to write on this blig that I lost 50 pounds and kept it off. You are an inspiration.
I booked a writing conference for a.year from now. Richard Gere and Diane Lane made a movie at this location. I think it will be fun. I hope to be down from 185 to 162 by then. I wear the pedometer every day.4
