Going to scrap this months goal and get through Christmas without making too much more damage, then start full focus again from next week
No giving up and throwing in the towel!! Please....don't give up. Keep going. I was stalled for 2 months! I never gave up.....just kept saying "it'll come, it'll come". And now I'm finally starting to drop again. Never give up....it'll happen.5 -

This was a surprise loss this morning. Goal is to maintain this month as Iโm enjoying more treats and snacks, not all bad, than normal and not having time for exercise (except the running around after 2 young kids and prepping for Christmas!).
Has anyone else upped calories and found they lost?
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!2 -

Hi all! My name is April. This is my first time using the community forum to post about me. I originally joined MyFitnessPal in late 2017 and within the first year and a half lost over 50lbs! Enter the pandemic... As an acute care nurse, the first and second waves of the pandemic took its toll on my mental and physical health. My energy was constantly drained, and I was no longer interested in many things, including my fitness. In little more than a year I gained all the weight back plus some. I am happy to say that I am now back on track and looking forward to starting (and sticking to) this journey again.5 -

@Cory17 - while some of your sickness weight loss may pop back on, it took you well beyond your goal for the month, so enjoy that! And don't get too upset when it bounces a little - just keep going. Yay!
@MadisonMolly - Oh no, but at least you're still a little below where you started the month, and there's a week left.1 -

I did a lot of reading up on the newsfeed articles about how to enjoy the holiday without overindulging. I kept myself to just one cocktail at each party and before the main meal I filled my plate with salad and waited for 20 min before I went in for the heavy meals so that I would get full faster. I was hoping to just stay weight neutral but did not imagine I would lose anything over the holidays! Now that the hard part is over, I am confident I can stay the course with my weight loss journey.3 -
