Allie — You are remarkable. Your home is a safe place for your grandchildren. They are lucky to have you. 💖0

13 Tell a random person they look "good" today - I just told DH that before I knew what it was today.
Heather - I might look into that. Thank you for the encouragement.
Allie - I’m so terribly sorry you had to witness that. I hope something changes soon. Tracy needs to protect herself and the boys. As a mother I can’t fathom how worried and upset this makes you.
Annie - I notice how my Mom is progressing by who she remembers in the family.
She was diagnosed in 2016, the year my granddaughter was born. She only has met her once because of the distance. She has rarely remembered her, but when I would say her name she seemed to try to cover it up that she forgot about her. Last week when she talked I could see the look in her face when I mentioned Michaela.
She had been asking about Jonah almost every time we talked and she didn’t last week. My SIL, Ryan is mentioned very occasionally, my SIL, Brodey a year ago was asked about at least three times per conversation. Last week she didn’t mention either of them. She did ask about my girls, and remembered they were adults, this was new she mostly thinks of them as teens (I think about 2012 from things she has said).
I just go along with whatever she says and that’s how we are taught to talk with the residents at work. The number 1 thing is to distract, the 2nd is never argue only agree as that is their reality in that moment.
I do know that I learned a lot about my Dad’s family growing up as that is what my Aunt talked about most. It was rather sweet.
Vicki - your experience as a teen was the same as mine. My Teen Line phone was a doodle bag phone. I thought it was the best! I even had a sofa that turned into a bed so made my only little living room. No TV but a tape player and radio.
I had a call from my MIL this morning that there are four spots on my FIL’s liver. She called again this evening to say that he has some in his esophagus as well. He is finally in the hospital and they will biopsy on Monday. I’m praying he can be kept comfortable and that we can figure out how to pay for us to get home very soon and in time.
This is when I absolutely hate living across the country.

Allie, Tracey, and Rosemarie- Prayers for all of your families.
Rosemarie I do know that the combination of Multaq and Eliquis worked wonders for my DH's AFIB for 5 years until it didn't this past one. The biggest issue is they are expensive!
My Dr ordered an EKG, which was normal. She referred me to a cardiologist for shoulder/neck pain with high heart rate. My appointment for that is with my DH's cardiologist on February 9th. She is a woman and that makes me feel comfortable. My regular Dr was pleased with my overall BP even though it was still 130/76 before I left her office today, but then again my heart rate was still 90. I walked over to hospital for EKG, then over to the med building to set up appointment with cardiologist afterwards. Productive medically. Got to work......well......I was productive there too, just not very communicative. DH needed to go to eyeglass place, I told his sister to take him. She said it wasn't her job. My reply was that I was busy with stuff and she wasn't so she could take him. DH wasn't happy about that, but oh well. While they were gone, I got boxes finished packed to return to Toro. DH got pissy with me because he dropped and broke a glass getting out of his sister's car. Whatever, I told SIL that if he got pissy one more time, she would have to stay at work, because I was leaving. She must have said something to him because he avoided me the rest of the day I finished the boxes and took them to the back to wait for UPS. I answered emails, emptied my trash, gave the back of the shop a good sweeping, vacuumed and dusted the front parts counter area and stocked it. I even managed to get new equipment into the computer. Upside- I got 10K steps by 6 pm. Downside- I still need to do invoicing, but couldn't stand in one place because I was just pissed. So productive day, but man am I tired. This week has just been crazy busy in the evenings. Oh, I did get 7.5 hours of sleep last night!
Laundry is going, dishes are done, and I am heading to bed.
Welcomes!
Hugs!
Thankful for you all!

I'm 'Machka in Oz' ...
Machka has been my nickname for about 20 years now. It's actually the Serbo-Croatian word for female cat.
Oz is where I live ... Australia. I was born in Canada and lived there for just over 40 years, then moved to Australia to live with my Australian-born husband.

Tracey— Prayers for your family. 🙏🏻
Allie— You are kind and smart. Your grandchildren are lucky to have you in their lives. Your daughter, too. ❤️💕2 -
Allie, I would Google LGBTQ support groups for teens and your area, and see what comes up. Carmine needs a mentor, not therapy or counseling per say. They need someone that supports them, that isn't as "so close to the forest" as you, where they can just BE. You are amazing though, and have told Carmine your thoughts and that is hopefully a relief for them to know. Hugs!

Already mid-Jan. Can't believe it. Had an injury between Christmas and New Year, stopped me from doing what I had planned. NY's goals and all. Starting new today though. Glad to be here. Liking all the inspiration.6

Got about 3 hours sleep. In spurts. No idea why, just couldn't settle. It's absolutely bucketing down with rain out there, so may be that.
Up now to get DH a cup of tea. Then exercise. I won't be going for a run.
Glad you were able to chat, Allie. That is so important. As others have said , the kids are lucky to have you.

Today reached about 31C (88F) which is one of our warmest days since about last March.
As you can see in a few posts above, I spent some time at the beach walking and wading in the water. That was lovely!
It was also an excellent day for drying towels on the line ... warm and WINDY! They were dry in no time.
When it gets this hot, bees "beard" and fan to cool themselves and their hive. These are our bees doing what they know to do to cool off ...
My guys ...

Not planning to do much this weekend except relax. I have a busy day in Monday, and some prep to do, and a trip to our local shops.
Tracey: It is difficult when elderly parents are so far away. I hope it all works out for you. 💕💖💕
Allie: I’m sure Carmine appreciates what you said, and takes it on board.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Hope your arrangements work out Tracey. An upsetting time for your family.
This morning I rang up and booked a time in 3 weeks for me to go in and paint the pots I made. I also booked, with the voucher my brother gave me for my birthday, another pottery session in March. It's to make a stem vase and a succulent pot. I don't have, nor want, any succulents, but I'm sure I can think of something, maybe a dip pot. A stem vase sounds good.
Then I adapted the photo design I posted previously, so I could possibly use it as a cover. Thank you Lisa. A lot depends on the Kindle templates when I get to that stage.
Then .... I actually added a lot of lines to a poem I'm writing about 'painting' and what it means to me. I've amazed myself. Perhaps I should have a sleepless night more often!
Still very, very windy out there. I hope G will, be OK on her ferry tonight, coming back from France.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -
Good Saturday!
Laundry still going. DH wants to go to Kentucky this weekend. Still need to water plants. Really need to get meat vacuum sealed (not happening this morning-yuck!) Plants are this morning, meat will wait until we get back tomorrow. Plan. Work first.
@Machka9 - Great pictures!
13 Tell a random person they look "good" today- They smiled and said Thank you!
14 Tell us three amazing things that happened recently (you decide what "recently" means...lol)
a) My husband’s ablation seemed to work, so he is off two expensive medicines
b) Drove the Tail of the Dragon in my Miata
c) My oldest granddaughter cried happy tears with her Christmas present
Better get a move on!
Stay safe!
Relax!
Breathe!
Hug!

13 Tell a random person they look "good" today... I can make that happen! Going on retreat today with a buncha my card-making bffs. I know we're going to be in a mutual-admiration-society!
Love and Blessings, Carla, in MN
Thank you very much.
I appreciate your enthusiasm.
