I am excited to get my act together and lose some dang wt this year. There comes a point and time when you have to turn the corner and start making progress. I'm not sure how to do it but its front and center starting this new year. I did pretty well during the holidays, gained 1lb, now lets get to it. Have an awesome month and year everyone.

Update: started January doing IF of 12:12 hours and am now at 18:6. Started taking supplements a few days ago as well. Feeling good and hoping I can finish strong for the end of the month (canโt believe we are half way already)
I changed my Jan goal weight target to something more realistic. Somehow I thought losing 15lbs in a month would be as easy as it was in my 20โs/early 30โs

So far so good! I will be going for my biometric screening tomorrow and am hopeful that I will hear some good news about having lowered my cholesterol, A1C, etc. I have been trying very hard over the last few weeks to stay within my calorie goals but also to meet my macro goals without going over in anything. It's definitely hard work and I'm not perfect at it yet but much improved. Who knew it wasn't carbs I crave but rather fatty foods? Total surprise!7 -

The same thing happened to me last week. I think it has to do with adding in activity, ironically. If you have dramatically increased your daily activity/exercise (I went from 1-2 15min sessions per week to 5-6 30min ones) it takes your body a minute to adjust. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED AND QUIT!! Find a different way to validate your choice to become healthier while you wait for the scale to catch up. Do you have more energy? Notice your clothes are fitting differently? Sleeping better? These are all indicators that you remain on the right path. We got this!3 -

This past week I've been focusing on reducing sugar and increasing fiber. I've also been focusing on not eating back my exercise calories (<25%) and it seems to be helping. I'm proud that I had two travel days with eating out and made good decisions about what I ate.10 -

This is where the rubber hits the road. Cutting down on snacking is a very good start, so give yourself credit for your success there. Give yourself credit, too, for two weeks without any gain and a loss during that time. Remember - go slow to go fast. Develop good habits, and stick to them!

@AllyNorth - you are exactly where I was one year ago. On Jan 1, 2022 I weighed 149.5 and had an ultimate goal weight of 135. I reached that goal weight in April of 2022 and have been maintaining since. Keep it going!
