AllyNorth: Week one of 2023 was both a good week, full of optimism for the year ahead, and renewed commitment to better health and well-being. But also some new mental and physical hurdles to overcome. But off to a good start.

@AllyNorth - you are exactly where I was one year ago. On Jan 1, 2022 I weighed 149.5 and had an ultimate goal weight of 135. I reached that goal weight in April of 2022 and have been maintaining since. Keep it going!
@enlightenme3 I'm just seeing your message today. Thank you so so much for the encouragement! It's so good to know the goal is attainable.

Today was a bit of a surprise for me. I usually don't see such dramatic loss in a week. But nice all the same to hit my short term goal. Keep up the good work, everyone!

Not down as much as I would have hoped, but still making progress! Been experimenting with mocktails since Iβm trying to limit alcohol; am I the only person who didnβt know tonic water is not water, and club soda is not sodaβ¦.who knew all the sugar was in tonic water! I guess itβs kind of like parking in a driveway and driving in a parkwayβ¦π€·ββοΈ7 -

After a big drop like you had the first week you'll have slower weeks. It's good to drop slowly. You don't want a 6 lb drop every week. You've hit your monthly goal already so that's a good thing. Anything else is a bonus.5 -

I'm not sure how much you were hoping to actually drop since you've gone under your goal for the month in the first 2 weeks!! That's pretty awesome in my books. Good progress. You really shouldn't expect big drops every week. Slow & steady wins the race. Better for your body overall. Yes we all love those big drops but it won't happen every week. I don't drink pop of any kind but not surprised to find additives (especially sugar) in things we think is just what the label says. They add crap to make it taste better. That's why people struggle to drink "water"....it has no taste. Maybe those come in "sugarless". Good luck finding a substitute.3
