Jewelry- I LOVE the really old rhinestone pins/brooches and I have quite a few that were my grandmother and great aunt's. I wear them on my dress coat for church and often times on my dresses at church.
I change them out depending on what color I want. The one on my coat now that stays there is a huge one that looks like a snow flake- looks great against the black wool of the long coat.
I don't collect a lot of things but those are one of the things I do collect. I look at garage sales and buy some on line. They are small and pretty and makes me smile.
I actually wear both of my wedding rings(yep, wear mine from first hubby on my pinky because it is very little and wearing it makes me happy) and my current wedding ring. I have other rings I wear occasionally. My necklace is a gift that says "Best friends Forever" from former hubby.
I have other jewelry that I wear occasionally but don't think about changing out.
Ear rings that I wear 90% of the time are small gold hoops dh got me about 5 yrs ago.
There are a few pieces that I have lost over the years that makes me sad.

(((Debbie))) Lots of hugs for you and your family!
Carla & Beth ~ Sorry to hear about both your mom's.
Being Talked Over ~ That is such a thing around my home. Both DH and Son do that to me. We both have to yell at son in order to get a word in. DH does it because he doesn't want to hear any suggestions.

Feel better
Im feeling much better.. my voice is just a few octaves lower than normal.
Thanks- it is just a cold- we all have it but I need to make sure I am on top of the asthma so it doesn't get me like the last two years.
5 weeks of treatments every 4 hours- I added it up last year, over 100 nebulizer treatments during that 5 weeks.
Skipping class tonight- not going to push it even though I am really going to miss it. Better to miss one class than 5.

Has anyone heard of or read the book Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend?
They are Christian writers. Former hubby suggested that for dh but I don't think he would consider reading it but I am going to check it out for myself. May help me too.2 -
Beth - I DM'd you. Please check your messages.

Annie I buy ground turkey and make five burgers per pound. I freeze the them so I can defrost as many or as few as I want. I serve them with a GIANT serving of frozen veggies (enough to keep me busy and fill me up). If you buy beef you can create the portion sizes that work for your family. If your mom eats only a half portion then that's all you need to prepare for her. No matter what I serve, there are only the portions we need with NO LEFTOVERS. You can make a plan for success❤🌻

sounds like my dh- no suggestions at all. If I don't agree with him, I am wrong.
If I try and talk, he doesn't listen and changes the subject to something revolving around him.
He even says when I say, I told you that, oh, I wasn't listening.4 -
Lisa--Someone told me one time when you buy bananas that are not ripe, put them apart and lay on counter. They will not get ripe as fast and I have been doing that and it does make a difference. Gives me more days they are at the just right stage. I can not handle over ripe bananas.
Pip--Love the seat covers. Looks really nice.
Rosemarie--Sending HUGS!
Rita--Thanks for the advice on Magnesium. I will get it a try. This is starting to be an everynight problem when I start to relax.
Tracey--Sure hope things settle down for DMIL. I am glad you are getting to see family while you are there.
Heather--Love the picture Edie my of Johnny. What great memories.
Kim--WOW! All I can think to say is WOW!. Glad your mom got to see her friend. Sorry it was so hard. What a good friend you are.
Machka--Beautiful
Carla--The health system needs a lot of fixing thats for sure.
Annie--I feel mine is broken also. Where do we go to get them fixed? Maybe we could get a group rate.
Weekend went well, just to fast. Saturday we went to Omaha to watch our DGD in her show choir. Her mom and stepdad were there, but they stayed acouple the lobby so no problems. DH was hoping she would talk to him, She hasn't in 4 years because we would not co-sign a house for them.
Yesterday our CMA group did the supper meal at the Salvation Army. We had a good crew and it went well. 3 of our DGC helped. The boys thougt the big dishwashing machine was fun, so they did all the dishes. They are 12 & 13. So proud of them.
DH just called and said it is 45 degrees and he will be picking me up after work on the motorcycle. Glad we only live about 5 blocks as I did not wear a heavy jacket.

May help me too.I haven't read the book but I read about it. It looks useful but only to a person who is seeking a solution. It is unlikely to be useful to someone who doesn't think they have a problem
To conclude that others are wrong, is as far as most people get. Thus they see no reason to do anything about themselves

Feb 6 Start a conversation with someone new at line dance class.
Welcome @anneu53 from Oz and @lalapitts Lala in Tx. Well done on the Pilates! Like Kim said, weighing portions instead of using volume measurements. It is a real eye-opener.
Thanks to Heather, Annie, Lanette, Barbie and others for the SWSY inspiration, increased ankle weight to eight pounds for PT exercises. Also started biceps curls and upward rows (5lbs) and triceps (3 lbs). Now to read those “increase real food protein” recommendations.
((hugs)) to Carla, Katla, Allie and all who need ‘em.
Lanette saw “A Man Called Otto” a few weeks ago. Really enjoyed it. Will see if I can find “A Man Called Ove” on Amazon Prime. When Grocery Outlet has Annie’s mac’n’cheese its $5, used to be $1.99.
Lisa thanks! That smiling like a Cheshire cat reminds me of something Heinlein wrote about smiling wide enough to reveal your canines…
Annie thank you too! 30 minutes without letting you speak? SMH. Do you have to sit with your folks while they finish eating? Can you excuse yourself and do something else until dessert?
Kim Whew! Hope you can rest up for a couple of days.
Michele neither do I like frozen (or [shudder] canned) asparagus. Has to be fresh. Same with snow/snap peas, peppers, onion and of course romaine  Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower, haricots verts are all ok frozen.
Mahka how frustrating. I’m sure you hated being pushed to the point of having to yell, but brava for persisting. Wish all customer service training included some form of “take a breath and give the customer a chance to speak.”
Tina ((hugs))
CarlaMaybe if the ER and insurer got slapped with a punitive malpractice suit, they’d improve their training and procedures. ((hugs)) and prayers for your mom.
Rita “haunted radio” ?
Margaret and Allie ditto “All Creatures Great and Small,” both current and original. Wish Masterpiece Theatre would bring back the Lord Peter Wimsey series, again both versions.
Katla ((hugs))
Oh Debbie, how I wish for just a few good days for you. Yes I read “Boundaries” and found it very helpful. Thanks for your response to Carol.
Carol, thank you! Sadly sounds like your son’s apple didn’t fall far. Would your DH teach your son a secret sign/magic word to signal time for a listening break so you wouldn’t have to yell?
Barbie “…make a plan for success” Bravissima!
Vicki :brokenheart: for your DH’s DD attitude.

DH had a visit from a podiatrist, and did not get good care in my opinion. I saw the mess she left him with. 🤬
I stopped by the nurses station this afternoon and hope they will take a good look & resolve the situation. I respect these nurses.

Barbara - when I said "Annie's" frozen meals yesterday I meant "Amy's", lol. I think it's all the same deal though with prices skyrocketing.
Barbie - same here, when I buy meat I immediately portion it and most of it goes into the freezer other than what I'm immediately preparing.
Carla - how sad about your mom's lack of care and treatment. Glad she has you as an advocate. "They'd" better hang on to their hats!!

a tiny bit of good news on son's truck. Dh was mistaken, he does have theft/vandalism on it. They will try and give him as little as possible but dh can get the records for all the work that has been done on it. Both the mechanic and the body shop.
Still praying for a miracle and they find the truck and it isn't tore up too bad.4 -
