What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 5 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

@quiltingjaine I have never done fasting....intentionally. but I have looked at the topic very briefly. I've seen some fasting structures as "easy" as 14:10. Due to my Invisaligns, and morning walks, I now have breakfast after 8:30 or 9, and dinner is at 5 pm. Trays are back in before 5:30, so without trying, I am doing 15:9. Not sure if I am benefiting myself, but that level is not hard.
@SheilaBoneham I'm always looking for podcast recs. Thanks3 -

2/11: 130.1 - Not really sure how I got here. Had a sugar binge last night. I did work out later in the day (just before dinner) so don’t know if that helped at all.
2/12: 131.2 - here is the bump up I was expecting yesterday. Had dinner out at a friends house. Delicious all around. I did get my workout in so hopefully that helped a little bit.

02/10 …..193.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
02/11 -193.0- (Trend weight 195.7) A great foodie day yesterday, a horrible foodie night in front of the TV last night. God must have intervened. I didn’t really deserve this drop but I hope it will stick. I put in extra exercise last night when filled with guilt and regret. I will watch my diet today with a Grateful Heart. I hope this number sticks and continues its downward trajectory. We all know how things can show up later on the scale. Sun is out today in Northern Michigan. Unusually warm weather coming this week for February! Wow! How it lifts the spirits and makes me feel hopeful and renewed! Good luck this round everyone as we walk this path together!
02/12 -193.6- (Trend weight 195.5) Well, it looks like my little last minute mini-binges during this past week have shown up. I’ve just got to deal with it. Yesterday was a perfect day filled with pre-logged food and lots of movement and exercise. No sleep again though. They have changed my Restless Leg Syndrome medication and it has to be ramped up over a 90 day period. So what I am getting is not enough. Lack of sleep does affect my losses so I hope it won’t stand in the way of my goals. Thursday night: 1 hr 42 min., Friday night: 2 hrs 47 min., last night: 4 hrs 7 min. That’s just not good enough. Tomorrow is travel with my biggest eating friend. Love her, but food is her main focus. I will try to make good choices and ignore her plate at the restaurant. It is a bit of a far travel to see the endocrinologist (finally). It’s been a long 6 month waiting list to get in. There, we will make decisions on my diabetes treatment plan since what I am doing now is clearly not working. I’m praying insulin is not the answer and that the doctor will give me a medication change (non-insulin) and more time for self-improvement. I have lost some weight since I first signed up for the diabetes center and I have improved my glucose numbers. However, if she just goes by my last A1C (a six month study) which was before all the positive changes (and right through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), I’m in trouble. Fingers crossed!

MFP only allows editing a post within the first hour of posting. So even if you found it, you can't edit it a day later. That's why we keep adding new posts.
I am not sure if there is a way to find a list of only your posts. There is a list of the discussions you have started and discussions you have bookmarked. But perhaps someone else knows how to find all your posts and can help.1 -
Absolutely perfect. Thanks for the timely response! So helpful...:)

72 yo Oregonian who has lost over 50 lbs three different times. First time with no support. Second time with MFP and the third time with TOP (take off pounds sensibly. On 2/8 I weighed 194 returning from a vacation in New Orleans. A trip to Mexico in November is my motivation to LOOSE. I am a nudist and my skin is comfortable at any weight yet the required swimsuit in Mexico is NOT comfortable.
2/11….192# Had a great calorie count day. Went for a 2 mile walk for the first time in ages. I was shocked when I entered the raw peanuts in a shell in my food diary. WHAT 11 calories each peanut…:( While healthy I was out of control eating them. No alcohol or empty calories.
I think I am reporting differently than others. I wait to wake up and report on yesterdays update. So far today 2 mile walk and oatmeal for breakfast...superbowl game will be challenging.

It's my first time with this challenge, but I like the shorter duration; it seems mentally easier to keep track of. I gained 8 pounds over the holiday season (ended up about 103.5 lbs), but I'm trying to take daily walks and do a quick workout every day. I've been able to keep my self-control much better over the past week, so I'm happy with that start.
2/11 - 101
2/12 - 100.5 A little bit of loss, but it seems a lot for one day. I wonder if it's because I drank one less cup of water than usual yesterday.

I tend to get more out of a Podcast that explains fat bias and diet myths. Some how it is easier for me to make decisions for my body when instead of hearing how damaged I am. I start thinking about how damaging the world is and the effect on my body.
It works for me, we’re all different.

2/11- 164- It's been a hard couple of days. Slacking off wasn't worth it. I would probably be at my goal by now. Husband wanted to go out for breakfast. I had coffee. Thankfully their coffee is really good.
2/12- 163.8- I took out bacon so breakfast was at home. The whole house smells like bacon. :P Weekends are so hard. When I’m home by myself it’s a lot easier. Super Bowl, but I just made us a regular dinner. No snackies to contend with, I would have failed.

4th Round
Age 53, 5’5”
Heaviest Weight: 345+ lbs (my highest known weight prior to gastric bypass in Aug 2005)
Weight in March 2022: 220 lbs
Weight at beginning of my 1st Round: 157.6 lbs
Weight beginning this Round: 150.2 lbs
Goal Weight: 145
This round's daily goals:
1. Under 1300 cals per day - ☹☹
2. Jogging with dog at least once every day -
3. 5 mins daily affirmations - ☹☹
4. Zero work absences -
2/11 – 150.2 lbs - I did my jogging/walking today with the dog which was super fun! I had a great time! I also didn't skip work but today wasn't a work day for me. However, I neglected to do my affirmations and I didn't stay under 1300 cals as I started to get a really sore stomach before bed and had to eat something to settle my stomach. To start off on a positive note I want to reflect on my successes over the last 3 rounds: Got off the ice-cream sammich habit, started getting closer to my protein and water goals, started taking my iron and supplements regularly, and lost 7.4 lbs. That is pretty frickin amazing. Thanks again, @quiltingjaine! This round I want to focus on getting closer to my goal weight of 145 lbs. I ordered a “running leash” off of Amazon, so I can try jogging with the dog. I have always wanted to run, since I was a kid in the 80s, but I was always too heavy and too afraid of hurting my knees. Now that my weight is lower, I think I can try it, and see how it goes. Bear in mind, my new rescue dog is 72 lbs and very strong, so if he sees a rabbit and I am taken off guard I am going down hard. 😊
2/12 – 149 lbs - Well, I guess I had a premonition about falling on my face (in my notes from yesterday). I ordered a new pair of slip-on shoes off the internet. They were meant specifically for jumping into quickly when I need to take the dog out for a quick pee break. (We live on the 15th floor and sometimes I need to get ready quickly.) I wore them for the first time yesterday, but I found they were too big and were flopping around on my feet. I was out with the dog and all of a sudden SLAM! I tripped somehow (I can’t even blame it on the dog) and I was FLAT on my face. I did real damage to my hands and my right knee, unfortunately. ☹ No jogging for me today. Luckily the dog did not run away when I fell, even though I dropped the leash. And some good Samaritans stopped to help me up. My knee is killing me. AUGH. Edit: I went out and did my jog/walking after all. I can only do a bit anyways, as I am not used to jogging so I have to build up my stamina. It’s pretty fun, though. 😊 And the dog loves it!
