I am in.
I am Dawn, I live in SE BC Canada
My ongoing goal remains, 16-20 AF days per month.
I had 17AF days for January (a long month)
I do this diary style to keep track, and I post the next morning
Thursday Feb 09 - AF - I will probably have drinks over the weekend.
Friday Feb 10 - 2 drinks. I may have drinks Saturday as well, we'll see. I will for sure be watching the Superbowl and Ri-Ri, but will not have drinks on a Sunday night.
Saturday Feb 11 - 3 drinks over the course of the day and evening. Planned AF until Tuesday minimum. Wish that I was having Ribs with @globalhiker for Superbowl!
Rolling total: 6AF days out of 11 days. 50% AF won't cut it to reach my goal in 28 days (reminder to self)3 -
Vegas Superbowl party drinks of choice.

My goal is to be comfy in a swim suit for a Mexico vacation in November. Currently 189 this morning...under 190!!! My goal is 157-160 or so. 5'7" and 72 years old.
No alcohol for 4 days!!! Until I get control of my portions and choices no alcohol, no eating out and no snacking. So far so good for four days. I travel extensively and I find traveling is super challenging.
Watching super bowl. Made myself a diet squirt with BADA Bing cherry juice. Sure would have been better with gin or vodka. LOL. air popped popcorn for snacks.7 -

I guess I slipped a floating rib. It hurts a lot. Sunday night means dark wave and a few drinks. Here's Bentley and a few shots that include Harley...
Bentley's picture from the shelter's website and what we found when we got there:

We ordered a wheelchair today, should have it by Tuesday. I'd be pleased if he's walking again by then and we can just return it, but if he isn't mobile we need to give him the means to get around...

Was not AF for super bowl but kept it in check. Still, it wasn't that great and I fell asleep and missed the exciting ending. I'm back on track today.4

Hey everyone, I’m Amanda. I live in Michigan and it is freezing and gray here but at least it’s staying light out past 5 pm now. ☀️
I joined this lovely thread in the summer of 2022 and it has made a huge difference in my life! I’ve gone from being 25% AF to 98% AF.
The people here are kind and real and smart and fun! Welcome to all newcomers!
2/1-2/7: 6 out of 7 AF
2/8: AF
Not a lot to report here. Definitely feeling my seasonal affective disorder but not drinking, that won’t help. Very tired all the time.
2/9: AF
TGIF! 6 hours of work today then loads of self care for the weekend.
2/10: AF
You would think I had multiple drinks last night with the headache I woke up with but no! Just a crazy headache.
I made a comfort stone yesterday in art therapy and it was such an excellent shot of dopamine, I am going out today to buy more materials to make more.
I hope everyone has an excellent weekend!
2/11: AF
After obsessing on some numbers this morning, I have come up with:
I have only had 4 A days out of the past 164, or 97.6% AF
As I write this, I’m not sure if this is a big deal or not. It is no longer a hard, daily thing to not drink. I feel like I have bigger obstacles to overcome.
Like my obsessive thinking lol
2/12: AF
I had the Sunday scaries last night because today is Monday, which means work. I can do it though, I have much bigger fish to fry than a psychotic boss!6 -
@RockinRobyn672 Here is the comfort stone
(Of course I have it sitting on Roger's fur because he is also a comfort.) Theres meaning behind the image and the word but I wont bore you with my psycho-babble. The stone feels nice sitting in the palm of your hand and it warms up.

@mfowler883 Those are some fuzzy little Ewok dogs! I am sad to see Bentleys first pic is with a rabies pole but it looks like he has come a long way and you have given him a wonderful home. Fingers crossed he doesnt need the wheelchair but dogs get around quite well in those.
@MissMay Its so nice to see palm trees and blue sky! It was 36 here yesterday but the sun was out and I didnt need to wear my puffy coat to do errands.
@lmlmrn You have a lot going on but also a huge adventure awaiting you! It sounds like you are as organized as you can be. I cant wait to see where you land!5 -
2/12 - AF; Super Bowl and the wine, beer & mixed drinks were flowing at my house. I enjoyed Fever Tree Blood Orange Ginger Beer with a lime slice in a pretty glass and skipped the vodka.
@lmlmrn Lots of excitement for you and planning your future. Which direction are ya'll planning to head out?5 -
Ok so I've got well over a hundred posts to catch up on and things are crazy with work so I'll check in and go back later! I will say, though, thank you to those who were enquiring about me being AWOL.
I was working in the UK all last week interviewing candidates and meeting customers with one of my reps.
Things didn't exactly go to plan drinking wise.
Or more to the point I chose to ignore my own plan and drink. Eating in nice pubs or restaurants meant I succumbed to the temptation of a few beers or wine each night. I didn't go mad but i didn't go AF either.
This weekend was also a bit of a mess. I brought a couple of nice bottles I whisky back with me. And erm the "good" news is that we don't have any left to tempt us.
Anyway back on the wagon last night and looking to stay there this week.
4 AF and 8 A.

Hi all, loved reading all your comments. So excited for you @lmlmrn!!!!! @MissMay, how is Vegas?? @mfowler883 , give little Bentley a hug for me! Also Whoever posted that first picture on the adoption website needs to learn some Marketing 101.
All my weight loss is gone due to drinking every day last week (granted we’re only talking 3 pounds, but still). I was trending in the right direction for a few weeks, and now I’m trending in the wrong direction!
I had two glasses of wine with dinner (out) on Friday, two Saturday plus a Sambuca. Well, on Sunday I had that haggard, dehydrated, been-around-the-block-a-time-or-three look on Sunday morning. I really really wanted a mimosa after church, but instead I had 2 club soda and sangria mix, which curbed that craving. For the Super Bowl, just 1 glass of wine. I live in the Philadephia area, and when I get into work today, everyone will be bummed that the Eagles
didn’t win.
I just read a novel called Vacationland, set on the Maine coast. Now I have a huge itch to go back up to Bar Harbor! But, it’s kind of hard to do a turn and burn weekend getaway when it’s a 12 hour drive! So probably won’t be a destination this year as we have our vacation already planned.
I am sooooo crampy today. Early TOM (sorry guys) and, it’s a lot. And I do mean a lot! I have a pelvic ultrasound next week because my periods are so heavy and they shouldn’t be. I should mention that I’m 54 years old for crying out loud! My mom was 57 when she finally stopped. Ugh this is endless peri menopause.7 -
Hi - Robyn here in SE Virginia. My goal is 16+ AF days per month. I had 18 AF days last month. I'm drinking less for health and weight loss. I post the next morning.
2/12: Drinks (2) - We went to a local Irish pub to watch most of the Super Bowl. I had a couple A drinks and then a tasty Guinness NA beer. I had 3 A days this past week. I think I'm going to cut it back to 2 A days weekly. We're heading to Asheville on Friday to see our son. Can't wait! He recently moved from Nashville, where he's lived since 2007, to Asheville. I'll also be able to see the rescue kitten.

Ooof did not stick to plan for SB Sunday I'm more annoyed at myself because I know exactly when I should have stopped and just...didnt.
Back on board today, and determined to not let the one setback impact the rest of my day- healthy eating and making to get some movement in!

The party is over or I should say parties!
I had a great weekend with lots of food and drink but time to get back on track and refocus!
I don't normally watch the pregame activities for Superbowl but I did yesterday and really enjoyed the stories and activities. The story of Brandon Gram and Joe Eitl had me in tears. All the hugs for Damar Hamlin got me as well.
The game was also great as I was cheering for the Chiefs!!2/1 AF

I can't remember if I'd mentioned along the way. I used to spend time around a place in the New Orleans area called Dag's House, it was a rehab for dogs with all kinds of issues. They had dogs getting acupuncture, massage and chiropractic, they had dogs using underwater treadmills and in wheelchairs, they had dogs with behavioral challenges and physical disabilities. I fell in love with a little shih tzu named Ozzie; he had lost the use of his hind legs but was the sweetest little guy. We got to let him spend the day with us and Harley a couple of times, and talked about bringing him home to stay but it wasn't meant to happen. Our lifestyle would have prevented us from really meeting all of his needs.
Anyway, I digress. The point I was getting to was, yeah I've been around dogs with challenges before, so this doesn't really phase me. Whatever hurdles we face with him, we will find solutions, be they temporary or long-term.
As for the shelter, they weren't even trying to rehome him, he was a death row dog. We had to sign waivers in order to get him out. He was a feisty boy when they found him, and he still has that fighting spirit. He tore me up a few times when we got home, and a few times since although he has come to understand that I'm part of his pack and I'm here to help him.
Good to see you back, Andy.
