Machka, I have used Katla 49 and I like it. It combines the first three letters of my first name and the first two letters of my last name. 49 is my birth year. It is simple & I like it. What do you suggest? Have you been pushed to change your name? How did you get what you like?0

So use that one then!
MFP has never suggested I change my user name. They don't do that. However, if you can't remember your password, there will be a message that either your user name or password is not correct.
Did you forget your password?

Tracey-thanks for sharing Covid experience. Wednesday has been worst day in terms of aches and head stuffiness etc. Have not had a real fever. Mainly just really tired and feel disconnected. I also have noticed the vertigo-primarily in the morning. I do hope that goes away! Where are you having pain? Still your back/hips?
Kylia-congrats on passing all tests. I know they can be a pain to go through but really, with some of these if they catch things early there is such a good chance of dealing with things that once were a death sentence. Dd not realize how warm it was here until you gave temperature.
Terri-I rather envy your Latin study group. I only took a year or so of it but quite liked it. I have also wanted to learn to read Classical Greek. For some reason I want to read Aristotle and Plato in the original. I think those may well be some retirement endeavors.
Picking up groceries at 9:30. Think I may go for short walk (like around a block or two) just to get fresh air.
Have a good day all,

Ginny - we caught covid on our cruise, but didn't realise we had it until we got home and tested. The worst of it, for me, was two weeks of tiredness. Really, really tired, and loss of interest in doing much. Don't beat yourself up if you take a while to get back into gear.
Quiet, recovery day today. People and travelling take it out of me, but I'm so, so glad I went. B says she will fly down south again in the summer, so I hope we can coordinate a meeting then.
I've been done my exercises and am just about to start some writing admin to get ideas for my book in the right places and print a poem. Not creative, but I do like to be tidy.
I did a Waitrose delivery order this morning. Coming tomorrow before lunch. Everything is sooooooo expensive. I had to wait until DH'S state pension had gone in to the joint account. Luckily, February and March are council tax free months, which has helped enormously.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxx2 -

If you've never logged out, why are you logged in with a different name? The only way you've got a new name is because you logged out of your original name.

Feel Good Feb and/or Exercising the Alphabet in FebruaryFeel Good Feb
https://www.actbelongcommit.org.au/programs-initiatives/feelgood-feb/
Exercising the Alphabet in February
In other words, on February 1, you'd walk to a street that starts with A or do an exercise video hosted by someone whose name starts with A or something ... A.
On February 2, you'd go swimming at a Beach or play a game of Baseball or something ... B.
On February 3, you'd go Cycling or Climb some stairs or something ... C.
and so on.
There are, of course, 26 letters in the alphabet and 28 days in February, so you'd have 2 free days if you didn't exercise those days or couldn't fit in the next letter of the alphabet.I have listed several January highlights so that meets the calendar suggestion for February 1...
And I walked to the Asian "dollar store" next to the Asian grocers and bought Art supplies at lunch today. That'll be my A.
Put myself in someone else's shoes --- I've been treating my difficult work colleague with kindness by talking to her about her son, complimenting her skirt, talking quietly and gently to her and so on.
And today, I walked to Bathurst Street to Buy some Books. I also climbed stairs in my Building.
Watch a movie that reminds me of kindness --- probably not tonight!
C is for Climbing and walking on Collins St!
Take a picture of three things that make you happy --
D is for exercising Downstairs!
Rowing - 16 minutes
Walking - 38 minutes
Weights - 10 minutes
Be kind to yourself -- Sleep, gardening and cycling!
E is for Exercising!
Plus we cycled on Endeavour Ave and the Esplanade.
Start a conversation with someone new --- I'm not the sort to strike up random conversations, or conversations at all. But I did chat with a person I met recently and one I haven't seen in a few months today.
And ... F!
Consider a current struggle. Write down two thoughts that bring you comfort.
Hmmm ... A current struggle, like only one? Let's go with waiting. I feel like I spend most of my life waiting.
And a walk to the botanical Gardens through the rose Garden!
Consider and celebrate diversity! Does that include people who look at things completely differently than you do? If so ... woohoo! I've had that opportunity today!
H is for Hobart - walking around. And Hanging clothes outside.
Identify a role model who embodies perseverance and find 2 ways to emulate them.
Well, I don't have role models ... and I've persevered as much or possibly even more than many people I know.
However, today was brought to you by the letter I. I did walk by and around IMAS (Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies).
Check an item off your to do list this weekend!
YES! I tidied a shelf in the kitchen. I've been meaning to do that for months but finally did it today. There was a large quantity of rubbish on that shelf ... more than I thought. So, much of the cleaning process was just throwing things out.
I've also been dusting our entertainment unit and all the stuff on it.
And I went outside and tidied the area right in front of our front door which involved moving a whole bunch of pots and other garden things to a different location and then sweeping out a year's worth of leaves and stuff. I climbed up and down and up and down stairs doing that.
This evening I made an attempt at digging the area I want to plant things next to my dry stream. I got a new spade which is great, but even so, there are so many roots, I'll need to use something else to break it up.
Just getting rid of Junk and Jabbing the Soil
Make twice as much for dinner and either invite guests or deliver a meal to a friend ...
We're actually doing that sort of dinner thing on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, all my exercise was in K ... Kingborough today!
Cycling:
Heaving a heavy mattock in the garden:
And walking our Kitty, Rhody.
Make a list for the week ahead so you stay focused.
I have one massive ongoing things to do list with the most urgent things at the top.
L
Walking exercised my Legs.
Gardening exercised all my Limbs!
Consider a recent disagreement. Did you extend forgiveness?
Yes.
I don't like being at odds with people.
M
Meandering around Bunnings.
Moving the Mattock.
Express creativity! I finished another version of my Project Plan!! That's as creative as I had a chance to be today.
N = Nowhere
I walked the stairs to nowhere and the road to nowhere.
If you are in line today, let someone go ahead of you. I do every now and then.
O - walking Rhody near home.
The next time someone does something you appreciate, let them know. I did today!
P - Perusing the shops today while it rained outside and Purchasing a few things.
Offer a helping hand to someone such as holding the door for a stranger. I do this now and then ... probably about once a week.
Q is for Queen.
My lunch walk was around the Queen's Domain!
Share about a recent book you read and what you learned.
The recent books I have read have been fictional mystery/suspense, and I have confirmed I like this genre for relaxation and stress relief.
R is for Rocks.
Hauling rocks. Placing rocks.
And walking Rhody.
Show sincere appreciation when someone serves you food or drink. I always thank my husband when he serves dinner.
S is for ... Sifting and Shovelling through Soil. Gardening ... I was gardening.
Compliment someone today. I didn't have a chance today because there was hardly anyone around.
T is for Target!
It was raining again today so I walked through the shops.
Where was I before I was swallowed up by work??
Feb 21 - When you recognise someone is struggling, offer words of support.
Frequently, with my husband
U - Another rainy day so I walked up and down through the shops.
Feb 22 - Ask for help. That's a simple way to express bravery
I frequently ask for help. I don't often get help, but I ask.
V - Vinnies!! I walked to Vinnies ... but didn't buy anything. 3.15 km plus commute walk.
Feb 23 - Encourage your teammates to utilise their unique strengths
Yes, and I thanked so many people today.
W - Walked!! 2 km plus commute walk.
Feb 24 - Reflect on steps you have taken to achieve past goals.
Somewhat appropriate for today.
In brief, I accomplish goals by writing them down and breaking them down into steps. Then I work my way through the steps.
X - marks the spot!
Spotted on my walk today!

Katla, I don’t know if this little story will help you or not; I hope it does.
A year after my father died (suicide) in 1981 at the age of 58, my wise and wonderful mother decided to move out of the big old house where she/we had lived for 30 years. The house she bought didn’t have room for the gorgeous lacquered oriental DR furniture she had owned for less than 2 years. I told her how sad I was for her to have to sell that furniture so soon after she finally got it, and she told me a story about her friend Mary Luhrs.
Mary’s story: Mary made exquisite Barbie clothes. Tiny buttons and other miniature details. Works of art. She mainly donated them to the church to sell for church bazaars. Mom asked her how she could bear to part with them, and she said sometimes she couldn’t right away. She would keep them in a drawer and admire them from time to time, and after a year or two she was ready to donate them to the church to sell. She told mom “by the time I’m ready to donate them, I’ve had them. I’ve enjoyed them and admired them, and gotten much pleasure out of my accomplishment. Then I’m ready to let them go, so someone else can enjoy them.”
Then my mom said to me, “Honey, I’ve had that beautiful furniture. I’ve entertained in that room, and I’ve admired those lovely pieces of furniture and…I’ve had them. Now it’s time for someone else to enjoy the pieces of furniture I’ve had the privilege of owning. I’m not sad to see them go; there is no place in my new house for them, and they no longer serve me. I’m ready to let them go."
A wise and wonderful and wacky mother I had.
Much Love

I'm afraid Corey may have picked up covid from the family this last weekend - Cruz, Kelsey's husband, had just got back from a school in Washington D.C. for this new position in Hawaii, and he was exhausted, as was Kels, and the kids were coughing nonstop, nearly every waking breath. I will not be able to get Corey to take a test, but I should have known on Wednesday that it wasn't boredom and wasn't having nothing to do at work that kept him home. He's exhausted and shows it every minute that he's awake - he went to bed an hour early last night, as well. I'll just keep an eye on him this weekend and do what I can to make him rest.
I may well have covid too, but the first time I registered positive for it, more than a year ago now, I had no symptoms at all. I don't have any now, either, which means nothing, I know. Although my ability to smell has diminished, it had already done so by the time covid popped up, because of the colitis. I'll leave the reason to your imagination...
I've also been vaccinated for pretty much everything and then some, so it's possible I may duck it completely. The VA does step up where vaccines are concerned - some bright boy or girl finally figured out that vaccines were cheaper than hospitalizing veterans who get sick.
Kylia - I'm so pleased you got good results!
Restless night last night, in the bathroom every hour and a half. They are tapering me off of one of the stomach meds, so that may be the culprit. The dosage is three large capsules three times a day, so I'm really happy to not be taking it anymore. I do hope the stomach upset slows down soon though. She also mentioned in a message tapering me off the Humira injections, but I want to talk to her about "and then what," before that happens.
Hope it's a good Friday for every one,
Much love,

It has been quite a week ... my last week of work where I have been for the past 8 months. Sort of.
Monday -- I had a GP appt where I found out that the cyst in my brain is stable (yay) although sometimes I wonder if it is the cause of some of my headaches. I also found out that my bloodwork is great - blood sugars and cholesterol came down a bit - except for my kidney numbers which are borderline troublesome. They've been that way for a while.
Monday to Wednesday night at midnight -- I worked as quickly as I could to move my project toward my goal. My Project Plan had 3 goals and I wanted to get each of them up to a certain point. I finished Goal 3 about about a week ago. One of the IT guys and I settled on Goal 2 and I did some research and passed on info about how that would be accomplished. But Goal 1 was a big goal in the sense of being time consuming. I had been working on it for a while but both Tuesday and Wednesday nights I worked through till midnight. I wasn't going to get it done otherwise.
Thursday morning -- I touched things up and sent out what I had been promising for Goal 1. Then I quickly wrote up what I wanted to say in a 15 minute presentation to a group of the organisations management, including the highest level management, and printed out handouts.
Meanwhile, about 10 seconds after I hit "Send" to send out my Goal 1 accomplishment, my difficult coworker walked in, prepared to hate everything I had done. She logged in, looked at what I sent for all of about 30 seconds and started in yelling at me. I had done everything wrong and was a complete waste of time. There was more, but I turned my back and walked out. Even in the printer room where I was printing the handouts, I could still hear that she was yelling for a bit. Fortunately, she had quieted down when I got back into our area and I put on my music (ear buds) and relaxed before my presentation.
The presentation went really well ... better than I expected. I was so pleased.
After the presentation my difficult coworker had more unpleasant things to say about me and the project, but quieter this time. I just smiled at her.
Then it was lunch and I walked to a large stationery store where I got a few more pens for my colouring. It was a beautiful day and I felt so relaxed.
When I returned to work my difficult coworker was walking around looking absolutely furious but avoiding me which I appreciated. I had called a meeting at 1:30 to run through what I had done with Goal 1 and had invited my unit and my managers. My difficult coworker, another coworker (really nice one) and my manager came, and when my difficult coworker announced to the room that she would have nothing to do with Goal 1 or anything related to it, my manager told her she could leave the room. She didn't and suddenly perked up and showed an interest. But she left to go home immediately after the meeting which I didn't mind at all.
My third meeting of the day was about an hour later ... my farewell afternoon tea. With cake. It was lovely.
Do you remember that, in January, I said I had a secret?
First post on Page 87, here, Days 4 and 12 in my list ...
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10880701/women-ages-50-for-january-2023/p87
Well, part of that secret is that I'm on leave for a while ... and then I'm being seconded to another department for a bit!
I'll go into more detail next week, I hope.

Katla ~ If the computer you are using had a snag, it may have locked you out of your usual page. You may be able to get back in the way you wish to be identified by shutting the computer down and then logging in with the ID you like. That has happened to me when my internet provider had an outage. Just a thought!

Welcome newbies and returnees! (((hugs))) to those who need them.
It was a good story Tracey.
Allie, I've always been very proud that I can touch the floor. Of course, I've never had bad hips. I've been blessed. After reading about all of you, it gave me great pleasure to touch the floor again yesterday. Not to brag, just to do it. 63 years old tomorrow and I can still touch the floor!
Karen, what a WONDERFUL way to look at leaving things & places behind. We had so many great events in Mom's house at the lake too and now the new owners can make it their home and enjoy that land and the beautiful lake. As much as I'll miss it, I'll always have those memories. Thank you.
Oh no, Lisa... I hope not! Prayers that you're both just... tired.
24-Reflect on steps you have taken to achieve past goals... I'll have to think on this one a bit
