    Hope everyone is well!

Glad to see you back in action. I haven't videoed anything in a while, endeavoring to cultivate some mass for at least a few more weeks.

Thanks! It feels really good to be back!

Actually did a few videos tonight, led off with barbell rows, 200# 4x3 superset with legs raises (neither pictured), followed up with dumbbell rows, pull ups, curls, and lateral raises. Few more weeks on a fairly lean bulk should have me in the low 180s.

Back to max on bench and this night was rough. Was supposed to do 5x5x105lb, but just didn't have it. (5x5x100 was smooth, so I'm close)

Thanks Gus! I'm super sick now, haven't been able to get to the gym in 5 days. 😔

I am so thankful that often the times that I don't want to work out, but choose to push through and do it anyways, are often the ones that feel the best!

I'm focusing right now on lower weight and higher reps. I am really trying to avoid the injury that often comes with my higher weight /lower rep attempts.

Got to say I'm pretty happy with this.

This is very inspirational and motivational to me that you’re happier with lower weights, and for those reasons.

I often beat myself up, and have to step back and remind myself why I do this, I’m not a spring chicken, and that I am pleased with the results.

But it’s super validating (?) to hear someone I sincerely admire say and do the same.

    Mucho respecto. 😘

What's interesting for me is the idea that I'm actually moving more volume this way. Last month my workouts averaged around 12000 pounds moved in a session. Last night I moved 17k. So I feel like it felt easier even though I moved more.

It's hard for me to go lower weight because my ego wants bigger numbers, but I am so tired of getting injured .

And thank you sooo much for such sweet words! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I also have to work with lighter weights. I've had injuries and now that my knee is better, I have a weird pinching in my hip flexor when squatting anything heavy. Just trying to get something done when I can. Since I'm on break, dumbbells at home or bodyweight 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’d just like to put out there how much I hate leg extensions.

Forget water boarding, Iron Mary, Scold’s Bridle, pillory, drawing and quartering. Put me on a leg extension machine and I’ll tell every damn secret I know and make up some good ones to boot.

Hahaha! I feel like I'm making popcorn with my knees if I make the leg extension weight too high. 😂 It sure was burning at the end, but honestly... They've helped with my knee pain dramatically because mine was caused by wandering kneecaps due to muscular imbalances. I needed to grow my "teardrop".

Impressive! I doubt most men could lift that much. My back would never allow so much weight. Much respect.

At what point did you start adding instability to your lifts? Do you feel like it makes a difference? Do you ever use chains? I know I know so many questions

I follow a 7 "week" program that has 4 days to it. Typically "day 3" has some form of variation on the main lift - whether it's pause squats, banded bench, Spoto press, pin squats /press... Etc. This week was supposed to be chains on the bar, but I do the banded kettlebells instead. (I think I'm too shy to pull out the chains lol)

I do like the banded / instability work because I feel like it really forces me to lock down my form. I have to really secure my body before trying to squat (or bench)... Bracing the core, minimizing the excess wiggles and steps... It all maximizes efficiency and leaves me feeling powerful.

I totally feel it in my core today. 😊

Ask away! I don't know much, but I'll always share my anecdotal experience. 😊

Thank you! I love the feeling of being able to lift heavy. I definitely didn't start out here, and I've been very slowly growing my lifts over years. That reduces the risk significantly.

I want sustainability as well as strength, so I try very hard to keep my ego out of it. (it is a struggle sometimes!)
