Michele—I took yoga classes for several years and enjoyed them immensely. Our leader was excellent and I learned a great deal. DH has had difficult health challenges and our adult kids wanted us to be near them so we have moved to Illinois. I miss my yoga class in Oregon. I learned a great deal in that class & I am able to continue to practice the positions and skills I learned there. I now practice on my own several times a week here in Illinois.

Heather - I know I could and have been giving it some serious consideration.
Lisa - thank you. My daughter needs something for another couple of years.
Lanette - I thought about being a 911 operator, then decided I didn’t want the shift work.
Barbara - I would have been angry if Rodger did that to me too.
Michele - if I were in your shoes I would have my own bank account but at the very least I would be expecting some reconciling of the money I earned.
DH and I have always had separate bank accounts. We pay bills as we need to from both accounts as needed.
My parents always had a joint account, but surprisingly my grandparents had separate and would even keep a tally of any money that was borrowed or lent to one another. My grandmother’s diaries are full of who paid for what.
I made two sets of a mug and matching coaster for a draw at work. Michaela decided she needed to make a set too. She told me it’s a baby unicorn running to its Mom. They are holding their heads up as they run to greet each other. She then said that she likes to tell stories with her drawings.
I’m making a set for myself tomorrow.

Tracey - Love the mugs and coasters. What a great idea to have a matching set. How do you do them?
I love all the things your grandchildren say. They are both real personalities.
Tomorrow we have Edie round for sewing and lunch. We have felt and thread and stuffing. Plus various sequins. She really wants to sew with DH.
I'm awake really early with a bit of my brain still puzzling over today. Things work so much better when I take charge of arrangements, but I don't like to take over when it's DH's family 'business'. He can get jealous. So, I have no idea what anyone is thinking of doing, except that they are parking their car in our drive. I would love to spend some time with K, the niece, as she has never been here, and I haven't seen her for ages. She is lovely. I also love DSIL. I am not good with uncertainty, it makes me anxious.
I think I will get some hummus, falafel and pitta breads out of the freezer, in case they call in and need a snack before the drive home to K's house in Wimbledon. If they don't eat it, we can have it tomorrow, or Tuesday. I will get some tilapia out of the freezer for for fish soup for our dinner. If they do come back and want to get a meal delivery or go out, the fish will keep a day.
I'm going to wash my hair in a moment, before breakfast, and get some kind of face on, in case they call in for a toilet stop when the park the car. I know I would! But DSIL told DH they would just leave it there and not bother us in the morning.
Oh well. My husband has many wonderful qualities but family communication is definitely not one of them. It's all bound up by not feeling really wanted, although they all love him dearly. He lived for his first year in a nursery, with his twin sister taken away from him. In 1945. You can all imagine what that did to his sense of security. He has done so well to get this far, but the wounds still show occasionally.
Of course, I have my own wounds, and one of them is needing to control.
Love to all, it's going to be a great day! I'm sure M is awake and really nervous. 26.2 miles is a very long way, and DH told me last night that he is running with, and helping, a first timer, so his time will be slower than normal. We have an approximate estimated time to go and stand at the end of the road. Mile 19. Then they are coming back past us for mile 21. The charity he is running for is a hospice. He is a senior palliative care nurse.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx starting her day.

Thanks Barbie, Can't believe it is April already.
One of the presents my DD bought me was a food diary She said it was for a bit of fun, but I'm quite pleased with it to be honest. I'm hoping it will help me get my eating under control. I prefer seeing thing on paper than on the PC. Interesting to see if I will be able to complete a whole month, you know me, I start things but find it hard to be consistent!
I have exercised at least 5 days a week for the last 12 weeks, but as a physical trainer has told me "you can't exercise away a bad diet"
Tracey the mugs and coasters are cute.
Machka I wanted to be a nursery nurse when I was younger and I did get accepted into a training programme/course but had to live in. It was not something I wanted to do at that time so I ended up going to technical college to do shorthand and typewriting instead. I often wonder what my life would have been like if I had accepted the offer and left home.
Well better get on and exercise, need to finish the week on a high, (exercised 6 days this week, go me!! )
Take care and love to all

Well, things turned out well, though not at all as envisaged! The group, of three, DSIL, her boyfriend, and niece K , all turned up at 10.30 and rang the doorbell. Lovely to see them, especially K. They had a toilet stop and I made them all a hot drink. Nice chat and I downloaded a tracker app for M, which is not working! They all, including DH have gone off to watch the leaders of the race. I am at home and will go down after 1pm to catch M. Shame about the tracker!
I have to eat at regular intervals and don't fancy standing around in the cold for hours. I've told K that I have food for three of them. But not enough for M's wife and children and M's friend! The chances of DH actually getting a guy type meet up, that he was hoping for, seem to be vanishingly small. I knew that would happen. Oh well,he has plenty of company.
I might wander down to the finish, which is just outside my son's apartment. I will have time after M passes by for the second time as their route is very bendy!
DH has just come back, so we will have lunch.

I’m waking up to a sunny morning and looking forward to my first cup of coffee of the day. It looks like a sunny Sunday. 🌞

Terri - Stopped in last night to see if you had entered hospital, glad you've got Easter with the family, instead. Hope all goes well.
Kylia - Hoping you get some good answers too, my dear, and clear direction... I think of you often. Taking care of Kylia instead of everyone else is going to be your hardest job.
Tracey - Those mugs are just charming! Hummingbirds were Mama's favorite, and they will always be in that place in my heart.
Heather - That is way too much people-i-ness than I could ever stand. Makes me glad we're not really on the way to anywhere, and it's a big country. Still had one of Corey's sisters and family stop by last year, but had enough warning, and they brought their RV. You are much more social than I ever have been.
Regarding my dreams when young: I wanted to be an oceanographer. I was born in Jacques Cousteau's heyday after he refitted the Calypso and sailed all over. I wanted to be on that boat and learn to dive. When John Denver's song "Calypso" came out in 1975, I was 15 and it just made my heart soar. Then life got in the way, I ended up in the Air Force in 1979, as the only possible way to go to college and get a degree. Except of course that my recruiter lied and said the GI Bill would get me there... and the GI Bill had ended before I was born. Such is life.
The continuing adventures with Egg: Egg is upset every Sunday when Corey is here, but he's still asleep and hasn't gotten up to get a cup of coffee or petted her. I got her to stop yowling, and finally got her shooed over to her current curl-up on the couch, but she's still pretty cranky. Can't just shut the bedroom door, or she really will throw a cat fit. Tried that her first year. I swear, after a very short period of time, those yowls start sounding like "Moooooooooommmmmmm!" Impossible to igore.
Miss cranky pants giving me the stink eye. For the stylistas, the pillow came with the couch, it's not my style, I'm just a cheapskate and don't want to replace something that works fine.
Time to get some blog writing done - I've struggled with brain fog so much this week that I've done well just to do laundry, much less anything that is actually mental work. There are openings in the fogbank, and right now is one of them, so I'll go take advantage.
Love y'all,
Hope it's a lovely, peaceful Sunday in your neck of the woods,

Morning, Ladies. Just finished breakfast and relaxing over my second cup of coffee. Days are getting nicer and nicer. Still lots of snow but it is slowly going. Allergies act up a little this time of year from snow mold so will be glad when all the melting is done. Quiet day today. Busy making cabbage rolls yesterday to serve for our Easter gathering. Nice big casserole cooked and now in the freezer. Snitched a few to go with our supper last night and they were pretty tasty so happy with that. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Good morning ladies!
My dad got invited to an opera and wants my mom to dress up and go. Dad generally naps for an hour after Sunday dinner, so he is quite likely to fall asleep. My mom doesn't even like opera, and she hardly even goes across the street to my aunt's house anymore. But Dad is an optimist, and in denial over Mom's situation. People with unreliable digestion don't go to fancy concerts much, am I right? It would be great for her to get out, but she considers thirty minutes to go to the podiatrist with me as getting out. What if she got lost looking for the ladies room? They aren't tech savvy enough to use phones. I'm glad she's not going off without me. I just hope I don't get dragged into the opera trip.
I'm lucky that they are so thankful for my presence. They always thank me for making dinner, and for being around when they need me. My Dad is going to be trickier to handle as time goes on. He still walks nine miles a week, and I can see him forgetting the way home as he gets worse. He probably wouldn't even mention getting lost, as it would be a sign of weakness. Yes, he is going to be the tricky one. Mom just sits safely on the couch, and trusts me, and mostly does what I say.
Anyway, that is the situation report from our house. Teddy is still exhausted from the storm last night, so he is snoring away!

I had a delicious breakfast but it was way to rich for my digestive system. 😳 I visited DH for a bit & am back in my place.
The sun is shining & that lifts my spirits. ☀️

Good morning ladies!
Annie - sounds like things are A-OK with the roofers. The fact that they don't require an up front deposit they can abscond with is a good sign they aren't scammers. One thing I like about FB is that on the local groups, if someone has a bad experience with a contractor, it gets posted. There are many things I don't like about FB but this is a plus.
I agree, that "Wendie" plan does sound a little like intermittent fasting.
About fasting & eating breakfast & three meals a day.....
I went down another fasting rabbit hole yesterday. Dr. Valter Longo, who was featured with Dr. Michael Mosley in the Eat, Fast and Live Longer BBC documentary, is saying in recent interviews that according to his research, a person should never skip breakfast. Folks who skip breakfast don't live as long as folks who skip dinner (supper) when fasting. (He does get kind of wiggly and says part of this may be due to genetics - some people are just programmed to live longer no matter how they eat.) Longo also advises seniors not to fast longer than 12 hours.
I ran across others who said similar, even Dr. Jason Fung, who admits skipping supper is not practical however, and he personally skips breakfast - doesn't eat until late morning. His push is for the insulin drop to mediate insulin resistance and healing by eating in a smaller window.
My parents and grandparents always ate breakfast. Three meals a day, hardly ever snacking as I recall.
Farmers needed energy to get going in the morning, and they were hungry when they first got up. As I've mentioned, females in my family gained weight around the middle as they aged, but it didn't seem detrimental as they lived into their late 80's - mid 90's. They ate a lot of dairy, meat and eggs since those foods were readily available = mega protein.
I had a pretty high protein supper yesterday, stopped eating at 4 and was fine - no hunger during the night. Got up at 4 this morning and by 5, I was hungry and ready for breakfast. So 13 hours "fasting". I managed about 20 gm of protein.
I'm curious - as a general rule, do you ladies eat breakfast? Three meals a day? Which meal is your biggest - lunch? supper? In whatever schedule you are using, are you dropping the weight you want to? Happily maintaining whatever weight you feel best at (or within that pesky 5 lbs?) If you are doing time restricted eating, do you find skipping breakfast or skipping supper works better?

I rarely eat breakfast and haven't for decades. The last time I remember eating breakfast regularly was probably in my late teens.
I have been slim and fit most of my life.
I had gained a bit of weight putting me into the overweight range by the end of 2014. In early 2015, I joined MFP and lost 25 kg that year ... and rarely ate breakfast as usual.
I kept the weight off till about mid-2018 after my husband's accident.
I am simply not at all hungry in the morning. It is very rare that I eat before 11 am and usually only when I have an early bicycle ride.
Also, on the occasions when I have eaten breakfast it's like a switch is turned on and I am starving hungry all day. I am significantly less hungry when I don't eat breakfast.
I eat 2 meals a day. Dinner is a bit larger than lunch.
