    My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall.


    CHALLENGE TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: Total Loss of 15 pounds to land at 176.6

    05/16-193.6-(Trend Weight: 194.3)- The progress should have been much better but it was a foodie week. My Birthday, Mother’s Day and some general out-of-town travel, and a trip to the Emergency Room didn’t help my cause. Hopefully this week will be better although I’m already on day 2 of travel.

    05/23-197.0-(Trend Weight: 195.5)- I’ve really put some thought into this and decided it is a cross between laziness and depression. I just don’t feel like meal planning or cooking. I have a grab β€˜n go mentality right now. When my depression sets in I really have a hard time following through with anything. No focus. Feet dragging the ground. A bit listless. I don’t have the energy to exercise, or plan, or research or do any of those things I normally do. I’ve really got to pull this together.

    So after the TOM came the whoosh. The whoosh would have been bigger if i had eaten as i should all along. But still it is a great progress. I have to reasons to slip up in June. But I will try to isolate it to those two days. And not fall into the trap of thinking. Well i will overeat tomorrow so today doesn't really matter. And I have leftovers from yesterday I should eat them. I tend to do that.
    This week I have been good. Either taken a hike or a turn on the elliptical everyday.
    For me weight loss is excersize driven. If i don't excersize I can eat very little if I want to lose weight. If i excersize i want less food.
    I see some argue that diet it kg's excersize is gram but in my experience diet is kg excersize is cm.

    What a great idea for a challenge. I look forward to getting to know the MFP members in this challenge. I have been a member of MFP since November 17, 2016 but did not start to use it regularly until July 1, 2020. I had to look at my profile to refresh my memory. Wednesday's are my regular weigh-in. So I will start April 5th.

    Well in the end up by half a pound. Not an accomplishment but not defeated

    May 10: 186 lbs I will take it. Now I have to add doing my blood pressure 3 times every Wednesday morning for 3 months.
    May 17: 187 lbs Oh the frustration of gaining & losing the same pounds. But this is a process. Check for doing my blood pressure readings.
    May 24: 193 lbs This is what happens when you indulge in excess. It is not a surprise to me to gain 5 lbs overnight. My attitude has been terrible snd the results show.

    May 8: 66.44 kg / 146.5 lbs - new calorie and macros goals have done wonders for my energy levels and still losing, so sticking with it for a bit :) New goal is now 65 kg / 143.3 lbs by the end of the month
    May 15: 65.17 kg / 143.7 lbs - given up on eating back my workout calories, it's not happening. I'm okay with being under as long as my energy levels and mood are good ;)
    May 22: 64.44 kg / 142.1 lbs - steady food logging and eating pattern, increased exercise. Within 5 kg (11 lbs) of my goal weight now B)
    May 29: 63.94 kg / 140.96 lbs - rate is slowing down a bit, which was to be expected. I'm happy with it and with the way I feel. Not too far from maintenance now. :)
