Hello ladies!
Yes my computer setup went quickly. There was a little snag trying to exit S mode, because it wasn't in S mode. Silly me. Now I have the antivirus transferred to the new machine. And I have Chrome and Zoom installed. Let's hope it all plays nicely together!
Unfortunately I ate extra calories because I was nervous. I know food is not the answer but I followed my parents example and had both cookies and ice cream. I should just leave when they indulge.

Evening ladies
Well ,Trudy,Carolyn and I went down to our local boatyard they have a woodfired pizza truck there for the summer and its right on the river with tables and chairs set up.. you can bring your own wine ,beer etc..
We enjoyed it immensely
Now back home...it was so nice to get out and we are supposed to have beautiful weather all weekend 😍
Rori- do glad you had a good time...welcome Home.2 -
Ginny – I think you’re right about those messages. I volunteer with Jerry’s wife at the soup kitchen and I know she wants a divorce. I just might tell him that if he dies like he almost did, he’ll make her a rich widow. Not that he has much assets, but he likes to think he does. I know he cares for his sister (she’s his payee) so I might mention that she’ll get nothing. How true that is, I don’t know. But it sounds good. He can either spend hundreds to go to a lawyer and have a will drawn up giving everything to his sister or divorce his wife which I think is the cheaper way to go. Maybe some good will come out of this. I’m thinking that he just might go for the cheaper way out so his sister will get his money (not that there’s much)
Rori – welcome home! So glad you had such a good time.
Going to see which walking DVD I can do tomorrow since it’s supposed to rain

Ginny,
My former hair dresser and I had a mutual friend named Peggy. She was long and lanky and frequently wore green. She was all elbows and knees. She died from lung cancer, and we both grieved. One day I went in for a cut, and Richard asked me if I’d seen Peggy on my way into his shop. I said no, so he told me to go out and look. There was a large green grasshopper sitting on the ledge of the step under a little overhang. It looked just like her. She was there when I left after getting my haircut; Richard said she finally hopped off around lunchtime.

Kelly-Prayers for all of you. You provided provide good counsel. So glad your husband provided you
So I may be crazy butDon't know if I ever told you ladies, but soon after my husband died, I filled in the back pond and we put his ashes in before the final fill. When I finished that work I was completely exhausted. I had set up a stone other things. I was out front watering and just talking to him and said I hoped he was ok with what I had done. I heard an insistent flapping above me to the left-it was a gray and brown humming bird (DH loved humming birds). The bird kept flapping and looking down at me. I said "I guess you are." Bird dipped its head toward me, flapped again briefly and then took off. I really felt he sent me a message.
Well today I am on my morning walk and a lady we both knew was on her porch. She said she thought I would be gone (moved) by now. Told her I am looking at December, told about places I am looking at etc. and up flies a gray and brown humming bird looking at me while I am talking. Gave me the same sort of head dip-then flew away. I believe he approves of my plans!
On that mystical note, I am going to go put a load in the washer and sort some more papers.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio
Ginny- I don't think you are crazy at all because if you are then so am I.
My dad also loved humming birds. Loved all birds but especially humming birds.
When I walk the wetlands, there are a few humming birds but there is almost always one in a certain bush as I walk by. No matter what time I go by. Maybe 11AM or 12 or even at 5PM he is there. Some days I think he isn't going to be there but the last second he comes zooming in and sits and just looks at me. He sits and just looks at me. I talk to it. Say Hi Dad. Only a few feet away. It always makes me smile- tell him Thanks! and continue my walk. There have only been a few days I haven't seen him. A few times I don't see him right away and he starts zipping back and forth until I stop and acknowledge him then he either leaves or sits in his bush.
Makes me smile.
Karen- Love that. Perfect

Michele I know here in Minnesota when you are married, you can’t make a will without your spouses signature about assets. Your spouse will get everything unless you both agree to have other heirs. That would’ve needed to be done prior to marriage. Even life insurance policies can be contested by a spouse if it was put into effect during the marriage. I know different states have different rules. Even a house if it is in one persons name belongs to the other spouse if they die. So I would say that the sister is out of luck. If they got a divorce here it would be 50/50 unless one makes more money than the other. I know kids that thought they were going to get their dad’s money but the new wife did. Everything even 401k and railroad pension. Pre-nuptial agreements should be done in those cases!

Evening again ladies
Ginny- I swear my mom came back as a great blue heron .. and my dad I think a cardinal..but mom could have morphed into a cardinal also because the morning my dad passed there was Mr and Mrs Cardinal sitting on a bush outside the window at my parents house.. I knew mom had come to get him and all was ok..

@KJLaMore ... so sorry about your sister but glad that your husband was sympathetic.
@GrandmaAllie ... I imagine that they will have to check out several childcare options before they find one that works for them.
Has anyone asked Carmine (quietly and sympathetically) if someone is hurting her?
@Anniesquats100 ... thank you. I love being active.
@cityjaneLondon and @Poerava14 ... I'm glad you met and had a nice time together.
@Poerava14 ... it's great to hear that you're able to travel and enjoy yourself.
@Rosemarie2972 ... We like hydrangeas too. We've got 3 bushes and moved one over a bit so it can expand more, plus we bought and planted 2 more.

Karen - what a lovely picture of you and your grandson. I had just started following along in this group when you started tutoring him. He is a handsome young man.
My grandson has his own little group of weird friends too. It makes it so much easier for them.
Barbara - it was good to double check the appointment time. How long is the drive?
Kelly - I hope your sister is ok. I very rarely turn to my DH either, I still have to figure it all out though. Good for Tim for stepping up.
Margaret - I needed to see that quote. Thanks for sharing.
Heather - I do pots as well mostly, but have one flower box in front of our house. This year I planted some along the side as well. I am like you and don’t like having to keep things alive.
Lanette - my Rodger says that it’s possible but it’s usually a V shape that causes the higher speed. He also said that it’s probably not going to cut a lot of wind down because of the open slats. He’s not an expert though, just his opinion. I use him as my Google all the time and he’s usually right.
Allie - I think Carmine and everyone having a break will be good for all involved.
Michele - I thought it was early to be thinking about Christmas and realized that I’m working in a Christmas present at ceramics. I’m going to continue going to drop in during the summer so I can make a couple other Christmas presents.
Cute surfer.
Personally, I would stay far away from the divorce vs widow discussions. That’s a pot I wouldn’t want to stir.
Rori - welcome home!
Ginny - I think that is your DH approving.
Annie - Yay for getting the new laptop set up.
I have found three old hard drives that I need to figure out how to get pictures off.
My Dad loved rainbows, for the first few years after he passed I saw rainbows on the sunniest day. I always thought it was Dad saying hi.
I haven’t seen one in a few years now and I miss them.
Went to the walk in clinic today. I have a knitted/twisted muscle in my back. I don’t as concerned that I was having trouble breathing. Turns out it’s because the pain was making it hard to breathe. He prescribed Tylenol 3 and told me to continue icing and heating and taking ibuprofen. I need to start regular exercising again, I seem to get hurt doing the simplest things. I don’t even know how this happened.
After the clinic I decided to go to drop in at ceramics. It just gave me something to do today.
The T3’s really messed with my stomach this evening. I think the pain in my back is better to deal with than that.
I am watching a show on the making of the Ken Burns series National Parks. I have watched two of his documentary’s, the Country Music one and one other that I can’t remember the name of. He is brilliant.
One of the FB groups I am in is a Canadian group for Cricut users. They have challenges regularly to win prizes. May’s challenge had 12 different things you could do that used the Cricut in different ways. I was able to show I had done 10 of the 12. People that follow the rules have their name entered for different prizes. My name was drawn tonight for a prize valued at $50.

28. Do something special and revisit in your mind tonight. Hmm…
Woke up with heart pounding from bad dream. Can almost still hear the high winds and feel the frustration arguing with Mama about sheltering the 3 families camping on the lawn. Had to get up and Jeopardy walk to shake it. Dreams? Fooey. Rarely remember the good ‘uns, but the nightmares spill over into the day.
Machka con VERY grats on the walking goal and mattock work. Your “Has anyone asked Carmine (quietly and sympathetically) if someone is hurting her?” question stopped me cold. Could be…
Margaret that meme about good tenants in your head, had such a beautiful painting.
KJ Brava for keeping calm for your sister, then relying on your DH for comfort. Glad to hear how well he stepped up. Sometimes they can still surprise us in good ways. Your sister’s been added to prayer list. Please keep us posted.
Carol fingers X’d for the new meds.
Lanette, thanks for the Inchauspe’s Glucose Revolution recommendation. Will check it out after I get/finish “Metabolical “ Alas, I read your experience AFTER I started on the cocoa and biscotti. Headslap. Wow I should’uv had a few dark chocolate chili almonds instead, or at least first
Rebecca, I’m setting the ACV next to morning vitamins right now. Thanks!
Michele “Christmas” oh noo, it’s not even July, yet! Definitely a dudette, look at those toenails
Mary fingers X’d the transition and sale go swiftly and smoothly.
Rita well done for stepping up and helping that couple with the medical emergency.
Allie glad you had a good, relaxing time. You needed it.
Pip the trim. Glad Chispas has the cool towel jacket to protect her from sunburn.
Ginny count me in with the crazies. After Papa passed, he talked to me twice.

Tracey - Congratulations! So nice to be rewarded like that!
The only reason I bother with that tub is because it's right next to the window, so it is as if the flowers are inside. We raised it up on an upside down pot so we could see it. I love it.
I think you were mowing and shifting bags the other day. I have decided that any untoward physical activity results in injury! And I'm exercising! Doing anything you don't usually do is a disaster.
Are you still following that Instagram guy, and have you gleaned any ideas from him?

Today's exercise ...
Wielding the mattock again! I am not a delicate gardener. I like digging.
And cycling inside using my bicycle on a trainer, and a program called Zwift.

Atta gurl!
Edie got up twice. Bea found it harder, but she's not done it before. She was too young last year.
I did my good deed for the day this morning. I went out to pick up a few bits this morning, and the server in the newsagents was a very overweight, very smelly lad. I was annoyed and found myself being judgmental. Then I remembered, from the prompts on here that some of you are following, that he probably has his reasons for being depressed, and I could choose to be kind. So, I asked him about his day, and how early he had to get up, (4.30) and sympathised with him. He really cheered up and I think I made his day!
I felt better too! Amazing how positive human connection is good for you.

Heather, Hear Hear for kindness and for letting go of what we cannot change. Excellent role model, you are!
Barbara, Bad dreams - so unsettling - sending a hug and a cup of hot tea…
Machka, You go, girl! Wielding your mattock is most impressive and inspiring. I’m in awe!

Thank you!
One of the best parts has been this ...
Middle of last week, as I put my backpack on, something pinged in my right shoulder/back and a muscle knotted. It was so sore, I could hardly get a full breath in.
I had 2 chiro visits (Thursday evening and Friday evening), but didn't mention it as I wondered if a simple adjustment might help, and it might have been part of the solution.
But I continued to feel a very tight muscle (or something) in my back and even up into my neck on the right all weekend.
This evening, after wielding the mattock for 3 days this weekend, rowing on 2 days, and lifting weights on 3 days ... it feels much better. Not 100% perfect yet, but I can breathe without pain and it's just a little naggy pain in my neck now.
Plus I'm getting some definition in my arms.

Dang it, the "save draft" function is just not working for me this morning, and can't write it all a 3rd time... So you get the shorter version, which is probably better anyway.
Tracey - Well done on the Cricut prize! Isn't it lovely when you win something doing something you love? Hope the T3 at least let your muscles relax enough to begin to feel better. I absolutely love Ken Burns, I think he's a genius.
Heather - Love the smiling faces and that amazing sunlight.
Barbara AHMOD - Sorry about the nightmares moving into the day... what the heck is the Jeopardy walk? Sounds useful.
Rori - Glad you're home and safe - bet Mars is too!
Ah... Corey's just got up, it's just turned seven, and a peaceful Sunday morning stretches out ahead of us. I slept straight through to five, and even got another hour afterward before Egg began to ask for company. Make that "demand company." I swear that darn cat says "Mom," instead of "meow" when she wants me to get up. Really hard to sleep through. She's barred from the bedroom after that disgraceful performance the other morning, but it's amazing how loud it is when a cat grabs the bottom of a door and yanks on it to try to get it to open.
Anyway, everyone's awake, coffee is downloading, and the cat is asleep on the couch. I think I'll poke her and wake her up as I go by.
Love y'all,
Lisa
