Today I travel down south to sisters. From 11:20 am to about 7:30 pm I will be on a bus, then train. I have some Pamelas oatmeal coconut cookies to eat whenever I feel hungry. To be honest I only bought them because I saw Pamela which is my sisters name. I am weird like that.

Sudden emergency request from my son. Could he come round at 3pm with Edie. They arrived and he disappeared into the study on a Zoom call. Edie had her £10 (a month) pocket money so we set off for the art shop.
She picked out a small canvas, but then said she had lost the £10. We didn't believe her as she is such a kidder. When we went out of the shop she was very subdued, so I thought she must be telling the truth!! I went back and asked if they had found it, and they had!
So we all started on some art projects at home. I found a bag of thirty three year old acrylic paints so decided to make a few blobs on black paper to see what happened. 😜 I had no idea where it was going. In the end I produced something. A bit of fun.
DH is writing script for his sister's birthday card. Edie had a go at a few things.
So, a good, bonus afternoon!!!

Rebecca--great news about ES. Know it was a worry.
Barbie-- I list daily things on my gratitude list. Most start out the same and I want to remember what I can do and not take anything for granted.
Annie--Sorry to hear about your Aunt. Prayers for everyone. Will funeral be local? How long will you need to be gone?
Joy--Lucy is so cute and reminds me of a puppy we have years ago. Miss Sugar Lynn.
Pip-- How scary!!

Afternoon ladies
Home and in alot of pain my hips and thighs are really really sore.. just took some tylenol.
Adriana stopped and took the tour a deep clean first will be 250.00 and boy does it need it. And I will have her crew in once a month after that to keep it up. Well worth it for my sanity and peace of mind.. and know that I will be able to keep things up in between.
Folded the rest of the laundry and will put that away..5 -
One of my theatre mentors, whose company I spent a month with in Denmark in 1993, said,
To create a work of art (or theatre) you don't have to know the destination. You only have to have a point of departure and a method of exploration.
I love that. That has helped me many times in my life. I applied it today. I think it applies to life in general.
Had delicious porcini ravioli with field mushrooms and loads of garlic. Truffle salt. Arugula. Heaven on earth.

Good morning ladies!
Annie - hope things are working out regarding your aunt's funeral. Do you have any other living aunts or uncles?
Pip - wow, close call with that little elk. Had no idea they would be aggressive toward people when its not rutting season. Hope Yogi's foot is better.
Joy - I'm with Mary, when I saw that you'd named her "Lucy" I thought - I love Lucy! And Pip's Lucy too! Your Lucy looks like she has a little schnauzer in her lineage. She'll be a fabulous companion for everyone in your household.
Kylia - thank you for catching us up! Loved the photos. You are one busy gal. Any indication they are moving to hire another employee or change hours so you can stay caught up?
Vicki - were you able to hire another employee? If I remember right, you were going to ask admin to relax the hiring freeze. Maybe offer to transfer all calls to the big boss's office. That might speed things up!
Debbie - Great job with the treats for the auction. I couldn't decide which one I'd like the most, they all were beautiful and I'm sure tasted delicious. Thinking of Destiny and her family.
Barbie - my priorities are similar to yours regarding house work. I keep 3 windows washed. 2 kitchen windows that I look out of all the time and a living room window where Rosie hangs out - it gets nose prints. The rest of the house...it's been years and it's an ordeal as on the outside windows, screens need to be removed and washed too. They have gotten fragile over the years so best left alone is my opinion. So that job is toward the bottom of the priority list. That said, I LOVE looking out clean windows!
Lisa - miss you!
Barbara - loved the photo of your puppies sleeping/cuddling. Seeing our pets relaxing like that always relaxes me too.
Heather - your art is dazzling. Will your next cruise have any other crafts you can pick up?
It has been super windy here the past couple days - steady breeze around 20 + mph coming from the north, and it doesn't taper off much at night either. I watch the apple trees with apprehension. I need to go through the wood pile and get more supports ready - one the apples start to grow, there's a danger of the trees tipping. The chicken run is right there. I might get the pruning saw and eliminate some branches and weight toward the end of the week when the winds die down. Hate too though, it looks like a super apple crop this year.
The radio just announced we are officially in drought season. Even with everything green, it won't stay that way long. In a way good news - mowing will also slow down.
Dandelions will continue to grow. I'm developing a loving relationship with them. They help nourish and replenish the soil and have flowers so the bees have something to eat. Plus I can pull them out and toss them in for the chickies!
Was going to comment more but running out of time. Sending HUGS to all!
OK ladies, better scoot. Have a great week!

Hello ladies! Still no word on my Aunt's funeral, but I imagine it will be in Maine. My plan is for my sister to travel with my dad, and for me to stay home with my mom. Thanks for all your kind words, I really value them.
My dad has two sisters left of a family of eight children. My mom has one sister left, who lives across the street.
I have been angry with my dad. He has been up on the ladder alone at his church, and using his pole saw on a ladder in the backyard. He is 88 and has peripheral neuropathy, so he has no business going up a ladder at all. Mom and I were quite clear, and he did it anyway.
On the exercise front, I took last week off, for no good reason. But today I did twenty minutes on the bike, an hour of yoga, and thirty minutes of aerobic walking. Yay! I'm back on track! Now to keep from eating my anger.
Heather your artwork is amazing! Beautiful!
Pip, sorry about that elk. Scary!
Debbie, those are gorgeous chocolates!
Rebecca have a lovely trip! And congratulations for your son's promotion!

Flea, that's gorgeous!
Beautiful pix, Rhonda. Thanks for sharing your part of the world.
OH MY, Debbie! You are quite the culinary artist! I'm impressed. Congrats on the auction and your part.
Totally agree, Barbie. I don't know where I'd be without music. It's my refuge. I have music on all day at work and almost every day at home.
Happily home from the LAST Monday of the school year!

Hello ladies!
Today I ate 1158 calories Yay! And I did the full exercise plan, Yay! For a deficit of 430! Yay!
An excellent day. Stressful because my 88 year old dad insisted on doing tree work up a ladder with a chainsaw on a pole. But we made it through, and I didn't eat my emotions.

Back from DE. Did Step the Video DVD on Fri, walked on Sat. walked Sun, did HIIT and walked on the treadmill today. Too much to do tomorrow so no formal exercise.
M – I’m just proud of the fact that I’ve kept up with my exercise even tho I’ve recently gone back to work. I don’t count things like walking up steps or mowing the yard as extra exercise. See, you’ve always been working so you’re used to incorporating exercise. I’ve just returned to work (OK it’s not a whole lot) and I’ve had to change my routine. But I did it and I’m continuing to do it. Good job on the jeans getting looser
Michelle NY – WB
Joy – how cruel of someone to just drop off a dog! I really do believe that a dog senses when he’s wanted and when he’s not. And he knows that you want him. You are wonderful to do that. How old do they estimate Lucy to be? She doesn’t look like a young pup, but she is a cutie. Our first cat “followed Jess home from school”. But he was declawed and neutered so we knew he was someone’s pet. When he cleaned up, he was a really good looking cat.
Rebecca – yea for your son!!! So happy for him and you
Heather – our own Picasso, that’s you!
Annie – I’m so sorry you lost your aunt
pip – I know you like having multiple doggies, so I volunteer also to come back as another one of your doggies. Sorry you were hurt, but glad for the help for you. Hope Yogi is better soon
Baker Debbie – ouch for that boy
OK visit to DE. As usual, we are the babysitters. I just don’t want PJ to forget us. After we’d been there for an hour, Denise went out. Texted Vince about 5:45 that she’d be home shortly. Came home around 6:45. Then got PJ ready for bed. To me, it’s just weird that she said “do you want to sleep with mommy?” At 4 years of age? I can understand if he’s sick or something, but he wasn’t. Oh, well...not much I can say. I realized that all he had for dinner was 3 bags of gummies (candy) and some strawberries (Denise always puts sugar on them and he wouldn’t eat them unless I put sugar on them). Went to WaWa and got a sandwich for dinner to bring back to the hotel.
Do you know that WaWa was going to charge 35 cents for a bag to put the sandwiches in? Well, I guess it’s a savings for them.
The picnic was nice. We usually get a cake. To me, the cake from the local grocery store isn’t all that good so next year I might get one from a store around here. We can probably pick it up on our way up there.
I figured it probably cost around $300 for the one night in DE. But to me it’s worth it. Vince wants to go to this train thing the weekend of Labor Day (when we usually go up) since he had to miss the one this past weekend. Well, if Pete is working Labor Day weekend, we’ll try to go up on a weekend when he’s there too. Time will tell…..
silverrfox – welcome!
Allie – Vince says that he’d only get me a cleaner if I absolutely needed one because he knows me and I’d clean before she got there because I didn’t want her to see it a mess and then I’d clean after she left because she didn’t do it my way. The thing is – he’s right.
Barbei – LOVE your posting about music
kylia – beautiful granddaughter. Thanks for sharing. Aubrey is lovely, so glad she’s doing well and hope all goes uneventful on the 10th
Heather – great that they found the money
Lanette – I’m willing to make the supreme sacrifice of trying all of Debbie’s treats to decide which one I like best….lol
Anne DE – so proud of you for getting back to exercise That’s not an easy thing to do, but you did it

Actually we were hoping on staying as a 1 dog family, taking the other two from mom wasn’t planned. Oh well4 -
Well, it was Monday!
No movement towards hiring or hour changes-smh.
Feeling pretty good about today though. I cleaned up kitchen this morning before work. Has been more of drop and go since Thursday. After work I made it to grocery! $350 later....picked up DH from his massage, put away cold foods, had dinner, washed truck, visited with friend, pitted cherries, made up fruit bowls, weighed out yogurt and nuts, finished puuting groceries away, and cleaned up kitchen. Now time for sleep.
Oh,oh,oh.....I had a hummingbird feeding at one of the feeders tonight, yay!!!!
Welcomes!
Healing prayers for all needed!
Inspired by you all!

6. Get out into green space and feel the joy that nature brings. Tomorrow at the burn barrel
Perfect temperature today, 70 degrees at 10 am, blue sky, sunshine, only the merest breeze to keep the air fresh. That “ahh I’m home” feeling.
Heather “the rose I buried my nose in.” Last week while walking past the post office I traced the most wonderful spicy floral scent to a tangle of wild roses amongst the weeds and trash on the corner. Now I’m plotting to steal cuttings and/or starts or hips this fall. Want to plant on the steep slopes along the powerline easement.
Rhonda well done on the 8km walk and gorgeous pics!
Debbie I’m intrigued by your cinnamon vanilla sweet ricotta filling. Would you share the recipe?
Beth, beautiful blossoms! Symbol of your determination to get inflammation under control?
Margaret whooshing healing energy and pain ease to DrewB.
Rebecca safe travels. At first I read “…travel down south to sisters” as you were headed to the mountains Flea showed in her pics. Oops ;}
Vickie “…to remember what I can do and not take anything for granted…” Sounds like the formula for happiness to me.
Allie, please send Adriana to Oregon
Katla sorry to hear your breakfast didn’t sit well. Are you able to special order your favorite cottage cheese and blueberries as daily fare? Congrats on the new glasses!
Lanette “…loving relationship with [dandelions]…” You and Joe.
Annie good for you for exercising to exorcise your anger. Good outlet for the underlying fear for your father’s safety.
Barbie so sorry to hear that news. Will he have to travel far for the chemo?
Michele “… supreme sacrifice…” taste testing all Debbie’s creations. LOL!
Begged off the special casserole cook for the congregational potluck as I won’t be attending AND have a date with the burn barrel. Tomorrow is forecast to be the least windy (<5 mph) and dampest day before fire season burn restrictions start. Gotta get rid of all those whacked out ferns1. Decide to look for what’s good every day this month. 1-Blue skies. 2-views of the ocean on way into town and on stroll chat with T. 3-sharing worries and laughter with D. 4-Pianist’s choice of offertory-congregation gave her an ovation. 5-Today’s weather. 06/05: Move: 2 sets PT w/x&a, garden, line dance class, dogs to powerline. steps:: 8692Later, lighter, lovelies!

Flea: Sounds like a fabulous weekend trip. Live music and infused vodkas. We need to hang out. 😁
Barbie: I'm stealing that music meme. I could have (maybe should have) written it. Thanks for sharing. So sorry to hear about Jake needing chemo. I am sending healing energy his way.
Machka: My DH was VERY responsive to music from his past so during the worst years of dementia, I had it on all the time. As he transitioned, the Beach Boys was playing in his room which was so apropos given he was a lifelong surfer and ocean lover.
My team lost their game last night. They still need 3 more wins to be champions of the National Basketball League. It was a tense shift with lots of extra security, VIPs, press and media from all around the world. I was posted to check credentials for the players Family and Friends room, which is right in the middle of all the action. I was able to greet sports stars I looked up to when I was in my youth. Today they are gray haired, pot bellied and walk with painful looking limps, but it was still a thrill to see them and exchange smiles.
Even though our team lost, the management had some fun activities for us in the employee break room, including the photo booth.
Stay well friends. We can do this.
