I just noticed that today is my 4100 day logging streak.11
-
Pip— Congrats for 4100 consecutive days of logging. Impressive!!! 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻

Terri: As Ginny said, it seems like a peaceful way for someone to pass, simply there and then gone, asleep by your loved one, but I would imagine it was a great shock to his wife. Glad you were able to give your condolences to her. My friend's cremation and celebration of life will be Friday, and I'm trying to decide what to send in remembrance. I know they will be inundated. Still thinking.
Allie: Hope Kyle is there in time to be able to say goodbye to his dad. Traveling grace, too, to him and his brother, and so sorry his dad never got to meet Miles.
Tracey: Hope your daughter's dog is doing better. Hate it when the furbaby's get sick and can't tell you what's wrong or where it hurts.
Rori: The Nuggets' win must have been SO exciting. So pleased for you that your team won their first championship, and hope they understand that you're a good luck charm for them...
Laundry folding is my immediate future. After that, who knows?
Love y'all,

1. Decide to look for what’s good every day this month. Started with friendly people.
2. Say positive things in your conversations with others. I will try, but people annoy me.
3. Re-frame a worry and try to find a helpful way to think about it. This will be about my son. Not sure how to re-frame it but will find a way today. I must realize he is a full grown man and in charge of his own life.
4. Take a photo of something that brings you joy and share it.
5. Think of 3 things you’re grateful for and write them down. 1. My family, 2. A roof over my head, 3. Enough food to eat.
6. Get out into green space and feel the joy that nature brings. every day!
7. Do something healthy that makes you feel good. 2 walks so far. And therapist today.
8. Find joy in music: sing, play, dance, listen or share. To be accomplished.
9. Ask a friend what made them happy recently. Did this on my trip to Lubbock to get my car back finally. Was a great day!
10. Bring joy to others by doing something kind for them. Will report on this later! Gave a family some Little Debbie cookies.
12. Write a gratitude letter to thank someone. To be done! Sent my GS a thank you note for being my grandchild!
13. Take a light-hearted approach. Choose to see the funny side. Already happening after a very stressful day yesterday.14. Share a happy memory with someone who means a lot to you.
15. Look for something to be thankful for where you least expect it.
16. Speak to others in a warm and friendly manner.
17. Take time to notice things that you find beautiful.
18. Look for something good in a difficult situation.
19. Get outside and find the joy in being active.
20. Rediscover and enjoy a fun childhood activity.

Afternoon ladies
Busy afternoon, Tracy ,Miles and I went to Costco again got him a size up in diapers and a few other odds and ends he was a good boy in the car and in the store.
Kyle's dad and step mom live in N.C.in South port he is on Hospice and his older brother flew down today and Jesse and Kyle need to get down there pronto.
Beth - reason the Strawberries are so expensive at least our local ones is because we had a freeze in May that did them in.. so alot of them died off.
Heard back from the Dr ..have to wait a week for the auto immune bloodwork to come back.. hopefully there are answers there..
Alllie, I don’t want to be a downer but in my case, with the way I am eating my autoimmune and inflammatory numbers are low. But neither are helping with my pain. So trying new things. There are ways, non-narcotic that help. My doc told me to try CURCIMIN. It is over the counter and takes a while to work like 3=4 weeks but it seems to be helping. Maybe it could be something for you to try? Got mine at Walgreens, or Walmart forget which. Next time coming from Amazon.

Lisa ... very sorry to hear about the loss of a friend. 51 is too young.
Machka ... I prefer emails, but there is something special about receiving a letter.
Rita ... I think your point about the checkbook register was not so much about using checks, but keeping detailed records of what you're spending. My excel spreadsheet is set up to note everything we do and I color code lines and items. I do some convoluted machinations with the spreadsheet that aren't worth explaining ... but even purchases on the credit card are marked as individual debits on my spreadsheet so that when I go to pay the credit bill, the money is there to pay in full. It helps me to be very detailed now that we're on a fixed budget. I want to know where every penny goes and how many pennies are available.
My weed trimmer broke this weekend and the replacement part is not available. Did some searching online and found a youtube video that showed how you could swap out another brand's head with a few modifications. $20 is a lot less than a new trimmer! My husband plans to take care of it for me, but I think I could do it if I had to.
Slow and steady rain here today near Buffalo. We so need this rain. Can almost see things green up as it's coming down.
Husband and I went to find local strawberries and there were none! All of the u-pick sites we were familiar with no longer exist and the one market that carries local produce only had shipped in berries. What's up with that? I did see local rhubarb though and bought some to make a pie. Sticker shock at the register. A little over 2 pounds was over $11.00... 4.99 a pound! The pie was delicious and I froze enough for another. Next week we'll head over to one of the local farmer's markets.

Keeping track ...
I download the details from my bank now and then, and drop it into Excel.
There I can do groupings on expense categories like groceries, fuel, etc.
I go that route because I don't have the time or inclination to duplicate work. In other words, why write it down when it is all recorded for me! 😀

Unfortunately, due to many reasons, we are retired going from check to check which is very difficult. That is why I am trying to find a way to record all monies going out of my debit account. We are finally out of the negative and beginning to save a little, very little so want to continue it. I know it is different for everyone, but thank everyone for your input! Sounds like there are many different methods so will experiment until I find what works best for us.

Thank you Machka! I needed this today!

A little about yesterday’s stressors:
1. My son has given his social worker (both in Rhode Island) my name to be a mediator for him on documentation. He was contacting me every hour until I was able to talk to worker. She was very nice and my DS signed a release of information and something so she could keep me posted. This is actually a good thing overall.
2. One of the workers here who we befriended as a granddaughter (she is 21 years old) quit.
3. Our co-hosts quit leaving us alone with the ‘inept management.
4. The day ended with us going for a goodby pizza with the co-hosts and the co-worker that quit. Very sad as we all became good friends.
Now begins a new day and new tasks for us. Unpaid of course. 😳😒.

(((hugs))) to those who need them.
Heather, I'm so much like you in the finance department. Makes me feel good to know I'm not alone. I've never been much of a budgeter. I've always known just about exactly what I've had in the bank (or not) and don't have to look often. Although I do look regularly to make sure that nothing nefarious is going on. I did happen to catch something really odd several years ago, when someone else's income tax REFUND went into my/our account. Twasn't much and I certainly wasn't going to keep it, but it was a real surprise to find extra $$ in the account. HOW could someone (AND the government) make such a mistake? Glad it wasn't the other direction!
I hate it when I love a product and they change it or quit making it too. Grrrrr!
Just need some extra prayers for Anne, please. She's dealing with the "idiot" (because there is just NOT better word for him) that she left three years ago. He's been stalking her, mostly by phone, but some in person, and she finally took out a protection order on June 1st. Well, he's decided to contest it! And the hearing is tomorrow and she's just distraught. Not the least of which is because she has to face him again and tell a judge WHY she doesn't want to be around him, again, but she has to show all the proof of his stalking, which just brings it up all over. We're pretty sure one of the main reasons he's being such a jerk about the whole thing (besides being an arrogant narcissist) is that if this goes through, all of his weapons (yes, he's a "collector") will be confiscated. She didn't realize that and really didn't want that to happen, per se, because she doesn't think he'd go to "that length", but... now, who knows. So... prayers please, from those of you who believe. Thanks.

Rita ... doesn't seem right that you're unpaid for all the work you do at the campsite!
Lisa ...I would send a card to your friend's family at this time and send something later to the family. You are right they will be inundated with things now. Offerings of sympathy that I received a few months later I had more time to appreciate ... if that makes sense.
Carla ... If he's stalking, he's not stable and if he's not stable, he shouldn't have access to firearms. He should have thought of that before he started being a jerk. Praying for your family.
Carol ... I like your new photo!

Tracey: Did you write that you have an MD appointment tomorrow and feel lethargic and have chest pains? I hope you do keep that MD appointment tomorrow. Please be sure to mention the chest pains.
Evelyn: Glad you found a donation box.
Kylia: Ugh...about the mouse!
RV Rita: Sorry you lost one of the workers and your co-hosts. I hope new people come in that are helpful!
Lanette: Sorry about your dog bite!
Carla: I hope things work out for Annie and the protective order.
Debbie: Great about doing some jogging! 23,500 steps...that is wonderful!
Barbie: If I wrote down everything I purchased my Starbucks ice coffee habit would be the number one problem. I do make ice coffee at home. But the ones from the store taste better. Also it is connection...no matter how meager...with a human when one is feeling lonely. Still.....a bad habit from a financial perspective.
Tracey...I must admit I am a little worried. I hope you are okay. As far as my day, this is the first day that I have cleaned the Cat House and then gone to the gym in the afternoon and walked for 40 minutes. It use to be I came home from cleaning and was wiped for the afternoon. I have not lost any weight since I lost my husband. I simply must become more active. I am not perfect with dieting but am around 1200 calories a day. I probably also need to lift more weights and do more lunges with weights.
Best,

EDIT-
Forgot to submit this before going to class.
Just got home. This substitute teacher worked us out!!. Hard when they do totally different routines and totally different songs. She did one song that we were used to but some of the steps were different.
Steps so far are now 23,500 and still have two hours before bed.

Carla - sending good thoughts for your daughter.
Tracy - Happy anniversary. Hope things go well at your MD appointment.
Allie - what a nice birthday present. Enjoy!
Supposed to be dry today but I went out to mow the lawn in front of the gazebo and just as I finished it started to rain. Need to do some trimming but guess that will wait for tomorrow.

It does make a lot of sense. Thank you so much, Beth, that sounds very appropriate.
Carla - Many good thoughts for your daughter. Hope the restraining order situation resolves without further upset.
Rita - Hope the situation resolves there, as well. Sorry it's so stressful.
Tracey - I've been thinking about you and your doctor visit. Let us know...
Allie - That sounds like a wonderful birthday present. Glad you can take Alfie!

Rita - I know you've mentioned relocating in the past. How did you find the your current "position" at Bottomless Lakes State Park and now that you've had experience, could you and your DH pull up stakes and find similar position/accommodations at another NM state park or perhaps a park in another state?
Sounds like the once fun group you worked with have pretty much all left. Wouldn't blame you for wanting to look elsewhere, although I know you and your DH have put down roots with doctors and different services in the community.
I hope things change for the better for you.
