Yes Barbara I used to do fiber arts, or play with wool. I have a fleece downstairs that I have been hand carding for years. I used to knit sweaters, and weave blankets and curtains. I made a skirt with a matching vest from handwoven cloth that I used to wear to work once in awhile.
My baby Teddy boo came home from the vet looking awful. They cut a lump from his eyelid that got biopsied, and he has a two inch gash on his shoulder that used to be a cyst. He is half Maltese with a beautiful long white coat, but now half his face is shaved, and his shoulder, and his paw. And he has a collar for two weeks, and he keeps bumping into things. I hope he will settle down and nap.

Miles out for a jaunt with mom...
Poor little Teddy...
When I was talking to Mary and Zina last night Mary said Homer isn't my responsibility, I said he is when Im asked to take care of him ,Tom and Elena have watched Alfie for me so many times and its the least I can do since I still am technically his mom..poor little ol guy.. I told Tom to please go and enjoy his time with Elena and not to worry about Homer..but I know how he is about him..
I got the refund from the bus trip back on my credit card..
And Alfie and I will go up to the cottage tomorrow for the weekend..

Rebecca ... Lovely photos. I enjoyed the ones of the 3 of them together and especially the one with Athena on her daddy's shoulders. She'll always be his little girl ....
Carol ... your grandchildren are no longer babies!!
Vicki ... that is a great photo of you, Addison and your husband!
Lanette ... interestingly, my son's headaches have settled down considerably since his incident/reaction/whatever you call it! Lol. Too bad he can't take that particular med again. He also started at the same time a preventative, Qulipta. He's been taking samples for the past month as the doctor fights with the insurance company to get it covered!
Barbie ... just for giggles, I decided to research Tesla's in my area. And while there's a Tesla plant about 15 miles from my house there is not a single Tesla vehicle available for sale ... new or used ... in a 200 mile radius. Go figure. I do know that the closest Tesla service center is about 100 miles away. Glad Jake got everything taken care of.
Heather ... you are very lucky to have your wrist fully restored. My mom's broken wrist has not recovered and instead has atrophied. Of course, she's significantly older, but I blame part of her poor outcome to several missed opportunities in rehab and in PT. She can barely pick up a spoon.
Barbara ... I wish my husband would hire someone to finish the siding job too. I came home Monday afternoon to find my husband shuffling around. He sheepishly admitted that he had fallen off his ladder after I had left. Fell backwards and landed flat on his back onto landscaping boulders and a pool fence. Actually bowed a metal pool fence. He's dang lucky he didn't break his neck! This man has had 3 back surgeries and has a fusion he's supposed to baby ... which his "hard headedness" evidently ignores. He's back at it today with his friend, who is also on my "s###" list, because he's the one that kept pushing my husband to do more on Monday ... in the pouring rain ...
And of course, this project is snowballing as all home improvement projects do. More to fix. Right now there's an excavator in the yard and the $2500 estimate has more than doubled as we discover just how poorly the original drainage system was installed. And ... they have had to take a huge saw and cut my new driveway and sidewalk!! I have no words ...
Some Good news .... dermatology report indicates all margins are negative!
July goals ... just maintained again. Phlebtt!
August goals ... to do better than maintenance ...

Barbara - I was trying to show Edie's magical energy. She illuminates the house when she enters. Plus, how she shines through and banishes any darkness of mine. I just wish I could capture her features better. I am not Picasso. Her mum says, Edie thinks it's fab.

That is great news- I remember getting my report- best three words I could have heard that day " margins are clear"
caught the little possum out in the garage and relocated it- if it sneaks back in, it will be relocated further away.
Feral backyard cat, Jack, woke me up early, talking to the other cats in the catio- 45 min before my alarm was to go off. Got up, took care of the cats then went for a walk. A bit chilly but not as breezy as yesterday.
Class in 3 hrs.

Moweys tuckered the poor boy out!!
Well Tracy talked to DCF today unless she threatens harm to them or herself basically there isn't anything they can do.. Carmine basically bullys Tracy every day, wont do it to her dad though.
I guess she is staying up at Seth's tonight..
I asked if she has her on anything yet and she said no..
I know she knows they are skating on thin ice with that ,he is of legal age and Carmine is not.6 -
Good evening ladies!
Well I am sitting with poor Teddy, who is getting used to the dreaded collar. He's asleep now, as long as I don't move.
My dad missed a doctor appointment today. The road was closed and he couldn't navigate the detour. I spent an hour on the phone getting him that appointment, and volunteered to go with him, but he wanted to go alone. Frustrating.
I rode my bike for thirty minutes this morning. Yay!

Rita-not quite sure what can top the cougar!
Margaret-phlox! I may have picked off a couple of blossoms not long ago! Very touching remembrance of your father.
Allie-I hope you are wrong in your diagnosis-but it is good you are getting things checked and will have answers.
Heather-I like the colors in Edie.
Beth-all I can think is "Oh my". Hope the projects end soon with everyone healthy. Your dermatology report is good news!
Annie-Hope Teddy heals quickly. Your dad does sound frustrating but it must also be frustrating through his eyes-I'm sure he is aware of some of the issues. Good job on bike-you are getting back on track.
Nothing new to report-have actually stayed up until almost 9:30-time for bed!
Take care all,

Ack - had a big post, walked away, lost it in the reaches of the interwebs... ah well.
Beth, such good news from the test, hope the damage to your husband wasn't terribly too much, and sooooo much sympathy for the cost overruns.
Carol - Love the picture of the grands... They look so much alike.
Allie - Thinking about you on the outcome... hope it's not what you fear it might be.
Wanted to answer more, but my eyelids are too heavy to keep typing! Toddling off to bed now.
Love from Arkansas, still 93 degrees at 9 p.m.,
Lisa

Did a body pump DVD then took my walk, then Aldi, home to put away the groceries, then went to the sleep MD, made a donation at the Salvation Army and, of course, had to go in. Stopped at Dollar General. They had these pool noodles – $5. Unbelievable! Took batting to a lady. Then cut the grass. Too tired to take another walk. Jess called and we will probably go up there this weekend. I know she really wants us to.
Looks like we will have the music bingo here. The plan is that they are going to charge $3 per card and a $1 for add’l cards. We shall see how it goes. Personally, I’m not real crazy about charging, but at least it isn’t $5. The plan is to have people just bring desserts at 6 and then start playing at 6:30. I’m afraid that we’re going to have a lot of desserts left.
Heather – yea for your good wrist
Allie – let’s hope it’s not Lupus. But if it is, you’ll handle it like the trooper you are. How are you feeling?
Storage: at our condo, there are some people who have storage trailers in the parking lot that they use to store out-of-season things or things like ladders, etc. One person has a ladder UNDER his storage unit.
Vicki – so glad the party went well. Good luck Tuesday
Joy – that double sided window cleaner looks a lot like what we have
When we moved to NC, we had 5 storage units full until we moved the stuff to our house. They used to call it “LeGrand row”
Annie – how cool is it that you made blankets, etc!
Vince is one of those people who constantly feels “why pay someone for something you can do”. Only thing is, he takes FOREVER to do it….unless it’s something that he wants. So what I’ve been doing is having someone else do it and sometimes not telling him that I’m doing that. Like there are these bushes on the side of the house. Two years ago he said “those bushes need to be trimmed”. He said that last year and again earlier this year. So I just told the landscaper if he sees they aren’t done, just do it.
Rebecca – Athena certainly is and will always be “daddy’s little girl”

Hi everyone
I would love to join this discussion. I went through some the the earlier posts and found them very inspirational.
Barbie "The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials." - that's a wonderful quote. I have been trying to follow it too.

😎 August has arrived! I am amazed at the humidity here in Illinois. I enjoy early mornings but the humidity climbs swiftly in the middle of the day. I am thankful for air conditioners. 😉

Today was a great day! Husband and I went off island, and got some errands done that we couldn't do on Whidbey. He needed to make copies of a solo player board game (D&D) and I needed inserts for my 12 x 12 album. Bought extenders so I can maybe put my mom and dads photos together. Then bought more washi tape. I will take a photo of my antique tin full of wonderful colors! On the way home he treated me to an Irish pub restaurant called O'Donnell's. Great place! Had a Monte Cristo sandwich. It was delightful. Ham, turkey, cheese on bread that's been French toasted. Dusted with powdered sugar and a side of raspberry jam to dip the corners in.💖🤗. Oh and had a pint of IPA beer. Husband said I smelled like a brewery! Lol! We stopped off and got items at a local Asian market so I could make up a birthday box for Guam sailor son. I think I kind of drunk shopped but hey, I'm entertaining! My dinner was the other half of the sandwich.💖👍
I shall sleep well. And no I didn't finish the proper pint. But I tried.🙃

Barbie - I can’t believe it’s August!
Thanks for another month.
Terri - I love the poem, do you mind if I share it with a couple of my friends that can use the reminder.
Kylia - you sound positive today, I’m glad your customers appreciate you and let you know it.
Margaret - I enjoyed reading how you are clearing things out and how you appreciate the gifts
Minimalism - I recently joined a FB group called Maximalist Design and Decor. As with any group there is a set of rules you must agree too. One of the rules is you don’t get to decide what is minimal or maximal for someone else and if you don’t like something you see just refrain from commenting.
I am a mix of both I think. I enjoy my “stuff” but have to have it all neat and tidy. I think I have pared down as much as I’m willing to for a while though.
Rebecca - I’m with you on the milk glass. I have been getting rid of some dishes I don’t use. Except my Crystal, I have an emotional attachment to all of that as I can tell you who gave me each piece and for what occasion.
Joy - enjoy the visit with your family. I’m glad the window washing tool worked well for you. I see I need to wash mine again. I may wait until September though so they will do for the Winter.
My DH had a gadget in the Amazon cart for gutters. I’ll have a look at it.
Photos - I went through my photos in 2011. I got rid of any landscape photos unless I knew where they were taken or were quite beautiful. I also got rid of photos that I didn’t know the people. (Some of my photos were from my parents and grandparents albums). My Mom had 100’s of parades. I threw most of them except for a couple that I have to friends because it was their parents business float.
I haven’t scanned photos as I fear the technology changes so much that there will be no way to retrieve them in the future. Like Rebecca, I also like the feel of old photos. I really need to print a few years worth of photos and start scrapbooking again too.
Vicki - I hope the meds help. Your granddaughter is lucky to have you.
Debbie - Craft stuff is a big source of stuff for me too. I do have it all organized though. One thing about living in a 700 sq ft home is you don’t have a lot of places to collect stuff.
Annie - my Grandmother was 91 when they sent her a 5 year renewal for her license. She didn’t drive much at that point, but had it renewed in the event she had to in an emergency.
Heather - I bet your wrist healed so well and quickly because you are so healthy and exercise regularly.
Machka - I do have some seasonal decor, but it all fits in a small tote except for Christmas. I do have a lot of Christmas decor.
I will never get to the point of having to rent a storage unit for it though.
Beth - is your DH willing to discuss hiring someone yet? I’m sorry about your new driveway.
Debbie - I follow a pest control company, you have to relocate a possum at least 25 miles away.
I was shocked at how far some things need to be relocated for them not to find their way back.
Well I went to my friends on Sunday, returned home last night. Today she texted me that her husband had taken a vacation without her and wouldn’t tell her where he is going. He is a broken man and has been for a few years now, I hate to see any marriage end, but I think this one needs too. The emotional abuse they inflict on one another is not healthy.
Today we went to rescue our grandson from family camp with his parents. He was having a miserable time. It was a 5.5 hour drive, he’s worth it though.
Kaitlyn is doing well, things seem to have settled and she had an ultrasound on Monday that shows that the baby is way up high where it should be. This relaxed her, so hopefully she can remain calm and have a healthy pregnancy.
It is late so I’ll catch up more tomorrow.
