Hi I'm Marla, 67 yrs old and retired. I have been yo-yoing with 20lbs for the last 20 yrs. Right now at 150 I want to be 130. I am smaller and the entire weight is in my stomach making me look 6 months pregnant. Over the last 20 yrs I have been asked many times. Last week a lady in my Tai chi class asked me and I laughed and told her how old I am! But inside was the shame you feel for not having the control over food you want. So here I am again, and this time I am going to work on my mindset and thoughts.
My goals for Oct:
Lose at least 4 lbs.
Yoga, Qigong at least 10 min daily
Walking daily
Weighing daily
Smaller portion sizes
Cut down on sugar & fat

10/01-187.2-(Trend Weight 189.2)- Yesterday everything was on point—diet, exercise, water, Potty. I wish everyday fell in line like that but that is not typical of my normal day. I had no handymen, no babysitting, no kids stop buy (with treats), no invitations from friends to go have lunch or dinner, it was a care-free day of self focus. Yesterday was one of the lower calorie/carb days on the zig-zagging I am doing so I’m not surprised to see the scale a bit more down because of that. It certainly likes to tip up a bit on the scheduled higher days so fair enough!

Hi everyone! (Thanks for starting this up for October, Jill!) I'm IN and plan to log, weigh and check in daily.
My name is Carole and I live and work in metro Boston (MA). I’m 65, 5’3” and I live alone. I still work full-time (in Cambridge).
My goals for October:
-Weigh-in daily; lose 5 lbs.
-Log daily and consistently.
-Housework: Cleaning, decluttering, downsizing for potential move (after 40 years).
-Avoid any and all consumption of alcoholic beverages (Will note this as "NO ETOH").
-Limit calories to 1,500/day (or less).
-Exercise at least 30 minutes, at least five days per week.

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now; my favorite support group on MFP. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty).
My goals for October🍂 :- Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. ⚖️
- Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. 🏃♂️
- 17K Steps daily 👣
- Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily 💦
- Strength Train 3 days a week 💪
- Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week 🧘

Good morning everyone. It is getting cooler here in Eastern WA state and my outdoor sports are coming to an end. I'm going to an indoor batting cage today for some softball fun Also, this is pine needle pick-up month for me. I took 340 pounds of pine needles to our waste-to-energy plant yesterday. That is just the beginning. I will have lots more of what I call FUNctional fitness to do before the pine trees finish shedding.

I love this supportive group. I'm a 46 year-old, 5'4" 2-time cancer survivor mom of four who always has some new ailment each month. Lol. I will check in when I can, but life has been really challenging these past few weeks. Struggling financially means extra mental stress and lots to manage and struggling physically creates lots of appointments and PT to manage as well. I am not focusing on weight loss this month, but on maintaining what I have lost by not caving in to emotional eating by walking everyday and finding a Zen moment everyday as well.
10/01: 182.5 - coached Girls Rugby, so lots of walking and running.
10/02: 182.3 - I have a second round job interview today. Trying to stay calm.7 -

I'm Janice...54 yrs old, married 26 years with 4 kids, One 28 week old grandbaby and a small zoo I live in Edmonton.Alberta,Canada and I work for Hallmark. I am an avid cyclist...I love to walk, hike, spin class, BodyCombat and BodyPump. I sometimes teach spin classes at a friends gym. I also like to read+(audiobooks) and watch movies!!😁
9 year breast cancer survivor...Osteoarthritis in most of my joints...limited range of motion in my knees, but all bearable for now..

Oct 1 - 152.2 - Weight won't stay here Big race yesterday - managed 2nd place out of 102 riders...was a bit chilly but it didn't rain so that was a bonus

October 2: 137.0 Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!
