Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

Hoping to still stay under the calorie goal - but am sure the sodium will be over the top.

    October 2: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘ Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!

I never believed I could run for 3 minutes straight, so this is a huge improvement. Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)

    Iโ€™m a grandma from Ontario. 7 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
    I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings.

Gloomy with some rain expected again. Iโ€™ll have to fit in some indoor exercising again. Babysitting my DGS so I guess how much exercise I get in will be up to him.

    10/14-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- My DGS got me up very early. He was already full of energy and hungry for his pumpkin pancakes so I forgot to weigh before drinking my coffee. Yesterday I was over on calories and carbs due to foodie DD bringing fall treats so Iโ€™m sure there has been no progress. I did jump on the exercise bike late last night for 32 minutes even though it was a very busy evening and it was very late when I did it. I also canceled all my own planned snacks because of it. Today is scheduled to be a normal calorie & carb day on zig-zag so while there should not be a dramatic drop, especially after the goodies yesterday, Iโ€™m hoping it will keep any collateral damage at bay. I was polite yesterday but today I will not be eating any of her kind, thoughtful, generous junk.

    Hope its OK to jump in half way through..

    I am Pam :) I have used MFP before and decided to jump back in. Joined the gym yesterday not to get back on track. Recently injured my knee and I can really feel these pounds on it for sure. I am 58 years old and work a busy job that is made up of 24hr shifts. One of my biggest challenges is structured eating plans since I am often awake at all hours of the day and night. It is motivating to watch everyone else smashing their goals :)

Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

Hoping to still stay under the calorie goal - but am sure the sodium will be over the top.

    10/14-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- My DGS got me up very early. He was already full of energy and hungry for his pumpkin pancakes so I forgot to weigh before drinking my coffee. Yesterday I was over on calories and carbs due to foodie DD bringing fall treats so Iโ€™m sure there has been no progress. I did jump on the exercise bike late last night for 32 minutes even though it was a very busy evening and it was very late when I did it. I also canceled all my own planned snacks because of it. Today is scheduled to be a normal calorie & carb day on zig-zag so while there should not be a dramatic drop, especially after the goodies yesterday, Iโ€™m hoping it will keep any collateral damage at bay. I was polite yesterday but today I will not be eating any of her kind, thoughtful, generous junk.

    10/15-187.0-(Trend Weight 186.6)- One perfect day with just a couple of evening gifted goodies can do so much more damage that I ever imaged. Iโ€™m sure the glycogen has refilled in my liver and I am experiencing that water increase in my body, among other things. Yesterday was picture perfect. I just need to remember that the body has itโ€™s processes and this too shall pass. I am also still having some TMI issues that Iโ€™m sure is not helping. It will all work itself out. I just have to stay diligent and committed.

    Back from our 55 HS Reunion. So good to see so many of our old friends, and I do mean old! I had an image, in my mind, of how I must look. It didn't match the reality I was faced with at the reunion. There were a bunch of old people there who vaguely resembled my friends from 55 years ago. After talking with them for only a few minutes I quickly realized they were my same old friends and they had all grown old over the past 55 years. It also ruined that image, in my mind, of how I must look. I now have an updated picture, in my mind, of what I really look like. It is closer to reality now.

    Speaking of reality, I will not face reality at the scale today. There was no scale to use this morning on our travels home. I will just wait until tomorrow for the real story.

Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

It's bingo night with Mom tonight so up later than usual - thinking I'll need to take a nap today - we'll see how that plays out on the scale tomorrow.

Hoping to still stay under the calorie goal - but am sure the sodium will be over the top.

Today I'm giving myself a damn break. I'm grumpy. I'm tired.

    October 2: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘ Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!

For about a month I've been working on it and now I can run up to about 3-4 minutes intermittently with about 1-2 minutes walking, for about 25 minutes. I never believed I could run for 3 minutes straight, so this is a huge improvement. Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)
