I took the bean brownies to a weekend conference with friends, some of whom are very into "healthy" desserts like that. The general consensus is they aren't bad, and they're going about as fast as the pumpkin spice brownies someone else brought, so maybe they aren't lying. I guess I like them. Too much food here though.
I had to skip all of the morning activities, but was able to lay in bed and see this lovely view:
Those aren't "my" mountains, but I have been up one peak in this region - as far as I can tell it's out of sight to the right from here. I was hoping to get in this water, but am feeling a bit too yucky right now (there's a point where it's helpful, and a point where it's too much stress on my body, and I think I'm over the line).8 -
Beautiful view @polskagirl01. Hope you find a way to get into that water!
Had a surprisingly fast 11 mile run this morning. Garmin said it was my fastest 11 miles ever (by 1 second/mi) Weather was just above my perfect zone, so it felt pretty good.

@Zaxa2021 Great job on shaving 2 min off of your last 10K. That's awesome.
Very nice run @SummerSkier ! Nice fast pace at the end!
Great run @Zakkery86 ! I often find the hardest step is the one out the door.
Nice running, as always, @AlphaHowls !
@martaindale Nice recovery run and glad your legs loosened after a bit.
@polskagirl01 I'm glad the conference attendees like the brownies. Sorry you aren't feeling up to attending the conference, but, if you have to be in bed, that's the view to have! Amazing!
Congrats on your 11 mile PR @Scott6255 !3 -

37.55/80 miles
Today was a struggle. When I first started the run, my legs just felt really weak, so I didn't push it. But, I did want to do a long run and was proud of myself for not stopping after 30 min, like I was tempted to do. I did a very slow 5.6 miles. I had to quit there because I needed to be done by 11:30 so I could be at mom's at noon. Glad I did what I did and, even though my legs were getting tired, I think I could have walked/ran another 3 miles, which would get me across the finish line on Dec 9. I still am procrastinating about making my hotel reservations and not sure why. I'll have to soon since it's just a month away......less than a month before I need to be there.

Morning everyone!
Got in another 10K today. (At 09"47).
@quilteryoyo glad it wasn't a serious termite problem... And you didn't have to fork out 1600 bucks!
@Scott6255 awesome 11 mile run there! 🙌

@yirara I hope you feel better tomorrow. Great job on getting out and doing what you could. I often feel better if I am outside.
You are racking up the miles quickly @SummerSkier ! I hope the weather holds so you can get that run in before work.3 -

My cross training workout this morning was all lower body so I waited until after lunch with my parents to get out for a run. It was more of a wog since I went to my local park and the mile trail is quite hilly. I’ve decided to disconnect my Strava feed. I have a friend who is a little obsessed with it and when my run on Friday didn’t show up in her feed (I had accidentally disconnected Garmin) she texted to see why it didn’t show up. Then when I was out running Saturday, she texted again to tell me that she still couldn’t see it. I just don’t need that kind of hassle or anyone following me that closely! I will miss seeing everyone’s photos over there but for now I’m out.
Bean paste v. chocolate? I’m in camp chocolate!
@Tarun_yadavA – that donut looks totally sinful! Mmmmm!

1.65 mile walk late this afternoon.

Great running @Teresa502 . I don't know that much about Strava, but can you just take her off of your friends list and stay for the rest of us? Great workout and wun after a lunch with your parents.

Once again, I haven't posted my run the last two days. Yesterday I ran 1.35 miles for my streak and today I ran 11 miles. It was about 54°F both days. It was a little chilly starting out. Yesterday I just wore shorts and a t-shirt, but today I started out with my sleeves too. I wore them for about 4 miles, and then I put them in my pocket and worried about losing them. I did make it home with both of them though.

Morning all.
Got in 10K again (at 09"45).
@Teresa502 sorry to hear you had to delete your Strava 😔
Is it a real-life friend, or a 'virtual' one like us lot? Guessing it's the former if she had your number! Oh dear... Sounds like you got bigger problems with her that go beyond Strava stalking6 -
Oh My! I forgot how much I loved this Group! I feel guilty because I cannot make time to read and comment on everyone's achievements. I hope everyone remembers there are a lot of us out here that appreciate the reports and comments that everyone posts. According to Garmin my fitness age has been increasing and I am not happy. It says I need more vigorous days so today is speed play! Hubby and I are attempting the San Antonio Rock N Roll HM Dec 3. Is anyone else doing this race? I'm looking forward to going but do NOT feel I will get a PR like I had hoped. We are going from Louisiana to Pennsylvania for 5 days for Thanksgiving. That is stressing me as I know I will not eat wisely.
Have a Great Run Day!9 -

I'm eyeing next year's Phoenix Rock N Roll for my first HM! Let us know how it goes!

Not doing the San Antonio Rock n Roll HM but I've done the Las Vegas Rock n Roll HM and it was a lot of fun. Very well organized and there was a lot of music and entertainment along the course. I understand its the only time the strip officially shuts down for an event. Since you haven't trained for a PR, just focus on doing your best and enjoy the fun along the way. Try not to stress about the upcoming travel and holidays. Just focus on one day, one meal at a time and make wise choices when you can and enjoy your favorites along the way.
@tarun_yadavA and @quilteryoyo - she is an IRL friend and a good one but she just gets obsessed with what other people are doing on Strava. She's constantly scrolling the feed on her phone even when we're together in a group and gets notifications every time a "friend" posts a workout. That's just a little too obsessive for me.5 -
Nov total: 45.8/117 miles
11/1: 7.1 miles
11/3: 3.1 miles - W&D 5k
11/4: 6.4 miles - W&D 10k
11/5: 13.4 miles - W&D HM
11/11: 5.2 miles
11/13: 10.6 miles
Woo, that was rough. The workout today was 6x1 mi repeats w 0.5 mi recovery, target pace 10 secs faster than race pace. Mid 50’s with a light sprinkling rain. The only real positive thing about this run. During the warmup mile I could tell my legs just felt tired. No real reason other than maybe still recovering from the HM last weekend. I managed to hit target pace on the first 2 repeats but my HR jumped up quickly and stayed high so the recovery didn’t really get me back to the baseline I would have liked and the miles felt harder than the pace should have. The next 2 repeats were 7 and 10 secs slow and I was fighting for those. I started the 5th and knew pretty quickly that I wasn’t anywhere close to target so bailed and ran out that mile as a long recovery. I hit the next even mile and felt like I should make a go at one last repeat. That one ended up being 7 secs slow. Decent considering how rough my legs felt. I finished out the last 1.5 miles as recovery. The only other factor I can think of is that I went into the run a bit dehydrated. I felt thirsty for several miles and actually felt more hydrated by the end of my run after drinking quite a bit more than I usually do and taking a couple of salt tabs.
Fingers crossed tomorrow’s tempo run goes better. I have my doubts. I’ll get some sort of run done either way.10 -
@Teresa502 sorry your friend was so annoying it caused you to get rid of Strava. She does sound obsessed. I'd probably tell her I don't post everything, and by default leave a lot of things visible only to me. Which is true for me. But if it's not a big deal to you, deleting it like you did is also a valid and understandable response. Did you tell her you deleted it because she was acting like a crazy person about it? 🤣
I survived the conference AND today's government office visits. Came home and *then* took the new supplement, and promptly fell into a deep 2+hour sleep. LOL. I'm ready for bed now at my regular time.8 -

It was chilly this morning 51°F and overcast, but I was pretty comfortable for 3.25 miles in shorts and a t-shirt. It was a nice run. Uneventful, but good.
I did get new shoes. I wore them a couple of times before I decided to keep them, so I didn't post a picture yet. They aren't as flashy as the green, but I was kind of superstitious about getting the same color. I think they look nice though.

I had a middle of the day doctors appointment today so after it I ran on the rails to trail path in that town. It was breezy and 61F and I ran 5 miles. As I was running I started wondering if it was a good idea to do so right after having blood work done. I envisioned blood squirting out from the needle site as my heart rate climbed. 🤣. The places your mind goes while running! Lol!
Passed by this alpaca farm
The horses were out grazing.
@polksagirl01 - I just told her I didn’t have time to keep up with Strava. I tend to avoid conflict at all costs!
@kgirlhart - I like that color!6 -
Glad I found this group/thread! Going to try to run 60km between now and end-Nov. (15km per week for the next 4 weeks). Normally track runs on Strava, so anyone regular there, is welcome to add too! Good luck, team! https://www.strava.com/athletes/zak_brockman
First 6k in the bag! Motivation to get out mainly thanks to this group. Thanks, team [6.2/60] Will head out again tomorrow morning. Cheers for the add on Strava Jennifer and Vicky!
Happy Monday, team! Hello from Germany! 👋 I am travelling for work this week, but remembered to pack my running shoes! I added 5k to my total yesterday, and will aim to add another 5k tomorrow. Went for a walk this eve to Recci for tomorrow. Lets hope the rain subsides! Thanks for the support.

Glad you got through your tough workout @martaindale! That sounds like a hard one.
@Teresa502 will miss you on Strava, but I totally get it. Very nice pics of your trail run. Cool that you saw an alpaca farm on your trail run.
Nothing exciting for me today. Wanted to take it easy after a pretty hard weekend, so did 6 TM miles.

@BeverlyW1108 I'm planning on a 10 mile race on Dec 10th and have the same issue with the holiday eating. I'll just pretend I am carb loading. LOL I hope you and your DH do well and enjoy the HM. (I agree with @Teresa502 s comments about it. Much more helpful than mine. )
@Teresa502 That is odd, but I guess some people get too immersed in what others are doing. At least you are staying here and we get to see what you are doing. It's harder when it is a IRL friend. Alpacas and horses - looks like a really nice trail to run on. BTW, that is funny that you were worried about the blood squirting from your arm.
@martaindale You did great with that workout given the tired legs. So inspiring.
@polskagirl01 I know that supplement is supposed to give you energy, but maybe the deep sleep is just the thing you need. How did the meeting about the VISA go?
Those are nice looking shoes @kgirlhart ! Great running.
Nice running @Zakkery86 . I hope you get some time for sight seeing while in Germany.
You seem to be using the TM a little bit more lately @Scott6255 . Are you liking it any better or just simply tolerating it more?

I got up at 4:30 this morning so I could be at the daycare by 6:30. That's waaaayyyyy tooooo early for me, but I did okay. I ran some errands after work and stopped at mom's for a few minutes. It was late when I got home and I was hungry, so I opted to just do a 2 mile walk on the treadmill. I should be home by 3 or so tomorrow, so hope to get in a run.8 -
Morning everyone.
Got in 3.58M this morning (at 09"39 pace).
In the office today!
Have a great day all8 -

Nov total: 52.8/117 miles
11/1: 7.1 miles
11/3: 3.1 miles - W&D 5k
11/4: 6.4 miles - W&D 10k

11/11: 5.2 miles
11/13: 10.6 miles
11/14: 7 miles
Second workout for this week - 5 miles @ race pace. About 60F so decent temps. My warmup mile felt a little stiff after the hard workout yesterday but the legs loosened up ok. Target was 9:18/mi. Splits were 9:22, 9:14, 9:12, 9:17, 9:11. Average is 9:15ish, so overall pretty close, if a tad too fast. It made me feel better that I was able to nail this workout after such a struggle yesterday. I am still doing a lot of adjusting throughout these pace workouts. Just not really finding this one yet. Today I did seem to find an effort level that kept me pretty close to my target, so maybe I'm getting there.7
