@cbabie That’s great that your granddaughter noticed your weight loss. Good that you don’t have to cook on Thanksgiving. I swim at an indoor pool at a recreation center. The water is always warm.0

@trooworld Lemon chicken and orzo soup from ATK was the soup my son made. My daughter made Zuppa Toscana from damndelicious.net.
Hi, all. I enjoyed my swim yesterday. For dinner I made the white pizza from Simple. The dough was easier to roll out as I let it come to room temperature for an hour. My husband made a comment about wanting pepperoni. I’ll have to figure out how to make a lower calorie pizza with turkey pepperoni. Tonight is family dinner. My son is making ATK Manhattan clam chowder. He has made it before and it is good. I’m going to the recreation center to workout on the recumbent elliptical. I have an audio book to listen to. I’m alternating between audio and the ebook.0

@trooworld Yes. I have tried the 2 ingredient dough. I like buying the pizza dough from the deli department as it’s easy to use. I don’t know if the calorie difference is that much. I’ll have to investigate. I could use the ready made dough and add sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I also have been trying not to eat snacks during the day but there are always snacks in the house as my son and husband would mutiny if we didn’t.
Hi, all. Last night’s dinner was good. I limited myself to 2 small slices of bread to go with the soup. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 1.5 pounds of the 2 pounds I gained. If I can stay within 2 pounds of what I weighed I will be happy. It’s raining so it will be messy getting out. We’re going swimming and then going to buy some salmon for dinner. I will air fry it like I did last week.0

I tried to get on here yesterday but my computer just sat spinning at log on. Food was good today. I'm under 5 points which is good because I'm -5 for my weeklies. Tomorrow I get a new stash. Exercise was some treadmill and weights.
Healthi is having a black Friday sale. The Pro is priced now at $29.99 for the year. I'll do it for a year and see if it's worth it.
@trooworld I'm reading A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas. I'm almost done with book 4 and after that one left. It's so good if you like that genre.
@fabgeekmom You're very lucky you have all the cooks in the house. That's good that you can read while you are on the elliptical. What book are you listening to? Hooray you've almost lost all the weight you gain. I hope I do too this next week.
@cbabie It's nice when others notice our weight loss.

@theslightedgeforever I am reading Sweet Shop of Dreams by Jenny Colgan. I have read a lot of her books. It’s good they you are under points. Any kind of tracking is good.0

@trooworld I read the article and mindful eating is what I am going to do tonight and tomorrow night. I’m not going to track calories and no food is off limits. I will probably eat past satisfaction. The one thing I have learned is not to get seconds. I do get a little crazy with dessert but I try not to stuff myself.
Hi, all. Today is the big day. I hope everyone has a great day with family and friends. I plan on getting some exercise today. It’s cold outside but I might wear a warm coat and go for a walk. Also I will do a Peloton workout on my bike.0

 Have a great day everyone!1

@fabgeekmom That's a great plan. How did it go?
@gemwolf110 I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, too!
Hi all. I had a good Thanksgiving and hope you did, too. I am still suffering from vertigo and that poked its ugly head up here and there but overall, it went well. I didn't get a second plate but my plate was fairly full. HealthyWage is offering a FREE $5,000 Turkey Trot Step Challenge. I have done HealthyWage challenges in the past but have failed at them. I decided to do this one this time only because it is free. They set the step goal at 25% over your normal step achievements based on your device sync. Mine for today is 10,169 which is pretty hard for me but we'll see. Here's the link, if you do decide you want to join: https://www.healthywage.com/referral/step-challenge-3/free-5000-turkey-trot-step-challenge-2023/11896261004761
 Water yesterday: 50 oz
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."
That’s and awesome challenge. Sorry to hear about your vertigo that can be very annoying. I didn’t even finish my plate.0
-
@gemwolf110 It sounds like you are mindfully. Good job! @trooworld The plan worked well. Yes, I ate more than I usually do, but I was expecting that. I ate small amounts and didn’t get seconds. I ate more dessert than I should have but it could have been worse. Good luck with the challenge. Hi, all. I’m going swimming this morning. It will feel good to get in the warm water. Tonight we go to my cousin’s house for leftovers. Same plan as yesterday.0
-
@trooworld I’m glad you are enjoying your long weekend. I agree, it’s one time a year for overeating. Everything I ate was good and I have no regrets. We are in the holiday season so I know there will be a few occasions. My cousin is taking about a Hanukkah meal plus of course, there is Christmas. I’ve have done okay in the past so I know I can handle everything. Hi, all. My son is moving ATK chili tonight. I’m buying 93/7 ground beef so the calories will be less. After breakfast I’m going to the recreation center and then buying groceries for the week.0
-
@trooworld Decluttering is very helpful. I remember what we had to do before we sold our house in NC. The wood fire grill sounds great. My husband has been making a wooden table without legs to put a train on it. He painted it green. The Christmas tree will go near it. He and our son will put everything up today. Hi, all. I slept late this morning and it felt good. We’re going swimming as it’s supposed to rain today. My daughter is making a Skinnytaste recipe for dinner.0
-
I've been reading. That's what I've been doing. I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. My food points are just a little over what I want them to be but I'm trying to get them down. I need to shave off about 2 every day. I went to the gym this morning since I skipped the last couple of days. I need to be very careful this next 5 weeks. My December calendar has already started filling up.
@cbabie Have we ever taken a vacation together? I don't really remember one.

@trooworld She made crock pot sazon pork chops with peppers, olives and potatoes. It was good and very hearty. I made bread in the breadmaker and only ate 1 slice. The WW app is tempting but I would only use it for Connect. That’s the only part I miss. I will always track calories as I think it is easier. Hi, all. I finally got the nerve to weigh this morning. 2 pounds up but I was expecting that. My husband said he loved all of me. I’m going to the recreation center this morning to use the recumbent elliptical. We had to buy a new Christmas tree as our tree had so many lights that were out. It’s up and now we have to decorate it.0
-
@trooworld I lost 3 lbs last December. But I had gained weight during my stay with my dd like I do every summer. So usually Nov, Dec, and Jan, are losing months for me. Then we hit Feb which is always a gain month. This year I lost weight during my summer visit so now my body is confused. lol Maybe no one is looking at your diary. I have enough trouble following my own problem to worry about anyone else.
@fabgeekmom What did you like about Connect? We moved over here right when WW switched and I didn't use it.

@theslightedgeforever I loved getting to know people, seeing what people ate, how they struggled and overcame those struggles. It was much easier to use than Community on MFP.0

Morning all, I decided to not go make a bed and stop in here. I know it's been a long time. I just can't seem to get everything done. Spent most of last week rearranging furniture. My grandson and his wife will be here over Christmas and I already am bursting at the seams...so trying to make more room for people and decorations. LOL. I did pretty good at Thanksgiving, but it's not my favorite holiday..Christmas food is...the getting together with family though..LOL. Need to work on my exercise.
@trooworld your DH was so sweet to make that comment..and yes you have a beautiful Christmas setting. You are making good choices...
@fabgeekmom Sounds like your family is getting into the Christmas spirit...I bet that table without legs is going to be fun to see all done up. Yes it's one time a year and we should not feel guilty about enjoying it.
@theslightedgeforever NO, we have never went on a vacation together, unless you count driving back from I love you very much to FL with Dad and Mom..LOL

@cbabie It’s fun getting ready for family. I’m thankful that all my family is local. Christmas food is really special. My son goes all out and we enjoy it for a few days. @trooworld Good job on pre tracking. Hi, all. I’m going swimming today. My son is preparing an ATK sheet pan pizza for dinner. He’s using low-fat cheese and turkey pepperoni so that should help lower the calories. It’ll still be high calorie. I will eat 2 or 3 slices. Lunch today is leftover dinner from last night.0
-
@fabgeekmom I like to do that on Instagram. Just look at pics with #ww sometimes #wwrecipes
 Sheetpan pizza sounds good.
@trooworld All to easy to judge ourselves. I need to get unconfused I will tell you. I'm basically maintaining right now. Pretracking is the way to go. I need to get back to that myself. When I was carb cycling it was easy to just pretrack and then cut portion sizes to get to my magic number. I need to do the same thing with points.
@cbabie Vacation: sad It's nice when family can get together. Bonus is the food.
I went to the gym this morning did a little cardio and weights.0
-
@trooworld Good job on tracking. Also on tracking the chips. This is a busy time of year and it’s hard to do everything.
Hi, all. It’s cold here. It is 29 now. I’m going to the recreation center this morning and then to the grocery store. I’m making shrimp with gnocchi and tomatoes from the Skinnytaste air fryer dinners cookbook tonight.0
-
@trooworld That's good you went back and tracked the chips. Do you have some cut up veggies or fruit that you could snack on if you get hungry while you cook? So since there are always more things that need to be done during this time of a year, what are your priorities. Maybe scheduling one a day instead of looking at the long list you have and feeling overwhelmed. You can say today I'm taking care of X
@fabgeekmom Your recipes always look interesting. I don't ever seem to take the time to sit and plan out my recipes. I seem to be a recipe collector versus actually making them.
I went to the gym this morning and did my hill/sprint program. I need a mindset when it comes to food. Right now it seems I'm relying on habit instead of consciously deciding on my meal. Time to form new habits as my go-to.0

Morning all, Just stopping by. I am getting ready to go pick up baby girl at school. Dropping off toys for foster kids. It is so cold here, I don't want to go outside. I think it was in the 50's this morning..UGH..
I have seen a change in my mindset, eating better, but still not best..but it's progress.
@trooworld It's good you tracked chips..I probably would not have.LOL. Yes I agree with the slightedge...one thing at a time..
@fabgeekmom You have colder weather than I have and I am proud that you are still going out to exercise..good for you.
@theslightedgeforever Your idea of vacationing...I think I am too much like dad. LOL. I will see it in a book, not in real time. LOL. Yes get back to doing what you know works for you.

@theslightedgeforever Good job at the gym. It’s easier for me to plan meals as I am retired. When I was working we ate out a lot. If I could go back in time I would figure out easy meals to fix in the crockpot. When I retired I decided that I was going to take care of myself.1
-
@cbabie It sounds like you are making progress. WW said something like “progress, not perfection.” @trooworld I love Zuppa Toscana. The shrimp was good last night. Tonight I am making a burger and French fry recipe from the Dinner Air Fryer cookbook. Hi, all. I think today is supposed to be a little warmer. It’s 33 now and it’s supposed to get up to 54. I’m going to the recreation center.0
-
Morning all, it was 48 this morning taking baby girl to school....UGH. I have to get her a coat, she has to have one with NO HOOD..all of her stuff has hoods. LOL I had oatmeal for breakfast, we will see if my stomach gets upset or no. Last time I had it..not good, but it could have been something else..Like life..LOL No walks, but trying to get some exercise in later tonight. I have to change my lifetime routine of exercising in the mornings...it just won't happen right now.
@trooworld so sorry your DH has to go to BIL, glad he is available though. I am sure you will figure it out what to do for dinner...You always think it through and really you don't make bad choices, I think you think you do as it wasn't what was planned. It's hard doing one thing...but try one thing at a time..I am learning that SOMETHING will just not get done when you have too much on your plate. I also find that others like to fill my plate with things they don't want on their plate. LOL
@fabgeekmom Yes it is progress..I am a perfectionist and it is a HARD lesson I have to try to unlearn. LOL. My sister always see 1/2 full, I see 1/2 empty. So glad you have a place to exercise. Let us know about the burger and fry recipe..LOL.

@cbabie 50's is springtime weather in some places. lol Your nephew would be wearing shorts. Just think your body burns more calories trying to stay warm. Wear layers and go out for a walk and fresh air. 1/2 full 1/2 empty: You got the craft lessons growing up while I got the lemon/lemonade lesson. Somebody always has it worse. I've got the exercise time figured out now it's back to the food. Usually it's the food that's not a problem.
@fabgeekmom I don't work so I have no excuse not to plan out my meals and search out new recipes. For lunch I'm making bbq chicken and baked beans. My son was saying I have served the same meals since he was born. I told him that if he'd like something different feel free to go on Pinterest. Hubby is happy.
@trooworld It's the meals themselves that could be healthier with veggies. For instance if I made some butternut squash soup versus spaghetti. My social calendar is too full right now. Plus reading. So I'm not taking the time to look at all the recipes I want to cook and then jot down the ingredients on my list. Plus I really hate cooking 3 times a day. But since hubby is retired. It is what it is as my dad would say.
I fell yesterday going up the steps carrying a tray. Hit my kneecap right on the edge of the stair. I was wearing wide leg pants and my foot got caught inside. Luckily nothing broken but my knee is sore. So I rested this morning. 0 Luckily nothing broken but my knee is sore. So I rested this morning. 0

@cbabie I am also a perfectionist and hate when things don’t go as planned. Sometimes I have to roll with the punches. @theslightedgeforever It sounds like you are happy with your meal choices. Your hubby, too. I don’t know how old your son is but he can cook, too. @trooworld Fast food is okay occasionally. Good luck with the dogs. Hi,all. The burger meal was good last night. Everyone liked it. Tonight I am making turkey meatballs in marinara sauce on top of rotini. I ordered 2 breadmaker cookbooks so I will make some bread to go with it. My hubby is happy as that’s one of his favorite meals. Today is a swim day. I’m hoping to get a calorie deficit so I can eat all of that.0
-
@trooworld Sometimes there are left overs and sometimes not. Depends on how hungry dh is. But I also have my mil and the caregiver. So if there is any left it's usually enough for one serving. lol Then he doesn't want to eat it if I'm just going to get a bowl of cereal. Are there any doggy chill pills or sprays?
@fabgeekmom No not really happy with my meal choices as far as the veggies go. I was looking at meal plan apps today but didn't find any I really like. At one time I set up a Trello board for that. I'm going to have to go back and tweak it since I'm doing points now. My son is almost 34. He can cook eggs. I think that's it. He could always learn but has no interest. He's never home at a consistent time to be here for meals unless it's a weekend but then I rarely cook on weekends. Depends on my social schedule. My other son cooks very well but unfortunately he doesn't live with me. I was in the mood for raisin bread today and was going to make that but ended up making some 2-ingredient dough Everything bagel bites in my airfryer.
Off to play with my Trello board0
-
@theslightedgeforever My husband is like your son. He can make eggs and sandwiches. I am not sure what a Trello board is. I’m assuming a planning tool. As I mentioned before, I use Skinnytaste a lot. I have all of the cookbooks and follow her on Facebook. The books don’t have points but she lists them on her website. I fix stuff that is not diet food. I got burned out on WW because I was fixing a lot of weird stuff.0
-
@trooworld It’s too bad you wake up so early. That happens to me occasionally and I am really tired the next day. I see a sleep doctor once a year and take medication so I can sleep. The party sounds fun. I have heard of the app you mentioned. Someone I followed on Connect would post what she got. She was from Los Angeles. I wonder if it is a California thing or just in bigger cities. I have made the Skinnytaste recipe you mentioned. Hi, all. My pasta was good last night. I decided to make a simple recipe instead of meatballs. I sautéed onions and garlic in a little olive oil and then sautéed the ground turkey. Then added rotini. I had some Parmesan rinds so I simmered them in the sauce. My bread was good, too. Today my husband and I are going to a fabric store. He wants to upholster some chairs we have at our cottage. They are really old and give the cottage a 1950 or 60’s vibe. I also need to go grocery shopping.0

Morning all, I have been working on my phone for the last couple of days..think I might have been compromised, but not really sure. My GS is telling me I need to change my phone number, I have had it for 20+ years..Tmobile told me to change all. my passwords...so that's been my life for a couple of days. UGH...
@trooworld I am glad DH got home early. Your calendar sounds like someone else on here..LOL. (theslightedge)
@fabgeekmom I love the vintage look, but I am vintage..LOL. what kind of bread did you make..I live with a bunch of bread lovers...including the baby.
@theslightedgeforever I hope you are okay...sorry about the fall. MY knee hurts just thinking about it. You know it must be something about retiring...my DH eats like there will be no food tomorrow. The other night...I said....glad I didn't want to eat what I cooked... NOT...he said what...like his portions are normal. I would weigh 500 lbs if I ate what his portions are..
