Morning all, it's so cold here...I am looking at the thermometer and it says 49 outside, but feels like 36...YEA..NOT..My Dh smokes and has to do it outside...another reason not to smoke..LOL. I made air fried salmon filets last night with asparagus. I of course didn't eat any as I don't like it. The family said it was good. I got on the scale and I am up, the contest I am in ends Monday and I need to get a couple of lbs off before then. LOL. Haven't slept much in the last 2 days and I truly think that makes your body gain weight...your body isn't resting and healing itself as you sleep. Well still going to try. I also haven't been walking the baby as it's been too cold...I am going to have to do that in the afternoon when it's a bit warmer. He loves outside.

@theslightedgeforever keep trying new recipes...it's good for you. Why do you think you are sleeping in..well you have always been the sleeper..LOL

@fabgeekmom My mom like hominy.. NOT me.. I love that you are always trying new foods. It's keeps things interesting. Glad you have a bike to ride too!!!

@trooworld good for you on only having 2 pieces of pizza.. I really have to stay away from it. My family thinks I don't like it..no I love it especially if its a thicker crust...but the sodium kills me. LOL If I don't MAKE myself put the laundry away right away...I will just get the clothes as I need them. LOL. My DH knows not to put MY clothes in the dryer as I want to put them in when I have the mindset to do it. We have had several arguments over this.. LOL. Can you imagine living in the early 1900 doing laundry? NOT!!!!

@cbabie I hate cold weather! But it’s warmer where you are. Too bad about the weight gain and sleep problems. I love salmon in the air fryer! Glad your family liked it. I like to do small loads of laundry so I don’t have to fold and put away so much.

@trooworld I love taco salad too. I bought some taco shell pans I haven't really used. I think if I put some puff pastry dough in there it will work. Yes, I know....more calories. lol I used to use ground beef for SOS til dh can't have beef anymore. I like it much better that way. My son said ah another 25 year old recipe. I said older than that. You are 32. lol But he ate it cause he really likes it. Yaaay on the new walking pad

@fabgeekmom I love Salisbury steak. I'm glad you have indoor options for exercise too.

@cbabie When is the last time you ate salmon and asparagus? Maybe the first time you tried it wasn't cooked properly and tasted bad. So you just accepted you don't like it. That happened to me with asparagus. Mom always liked weird stuff. Hominy, beets, oyster crackers in milk, :s
Probably sleeping til 6:30 cause I tell myself that I can exercise later. But then I don't for one reason or another. You said "I will just get the clothes as I need them. LOL." I've been known to unpack suitcases like this. lol So what time in the afternoon will be good for you to take the baby for a walk? Here's a good idea. Go 30 min ahead of time before you have to pick up the other one from school. Take the baby with you and the stroller. Then walk around the school neighborhood while you wait. You are guaranteed 30 min exercise. You both get out and get some Vitamin D and fresh air. There's never going to be a good time to exercise. (Believe me, I'm still trying to find it in my schedule). if you piggyback it onto another task, it's much easier. I can't imagine doing anything in the early 1900's. I'd love to time travel just once to see our relatives.

Another big cooking day. I made lentil/carrot soup and cheese twists. Plus for dinner I made some butternut squash ravioli. I'm trying out cooking all at once so only one clean up. I'll let you know how they turned out.

@theslightedgeforever The taco pans sound interesting. Puff pastry, too. LOL on what your son said. @trooworld That salmon sounds delicious! Too bad about the walking pad. I’m glad you made an appointment with the weight loss doctor. I hope that goes well. Hi, all. The pozole was really good last night and easy to prepare. Skinnytaste has a similar recipe if you don’t have AMK. My son bought the NYT cooking app so we have another resource. I’m making pizza tonight. I’m making the dough in my bread machine. I’m using low fat mozzarella and turkey pepperoni so the calories should be a little less than regular pizza.

@trooworld Your salmon sounds really good. Sorry about the walking pad. Just think you can start off the New Year with it. If we had to wash clothes on a washboard, we would all have less clothes in our closet. lol That's why they wore aprons so the main dress wouldn't get dirty. lol Yes the cheese twists was for the soup. The taco shells like the ones in the restaurants. I've seen you can do the same thing with a tortilla and upside down muffin pans.

@fabgeekmom I like the turkey pepperoni. Especially since my hubby can't eat beef. Sounds like you have a lot of resources. I was telling dh this morning about back in the day we didn't have all these recipe apps. I still have my cookbooks because I think what will happen if one day there is a major internet blackout and I can't access the internet. lol

45 min walking today. I had left overs from freezer tonight. 1 slice of homemade pizza and 1 cup of fettucinie alfredo. Dh had the leftover ravioli. There is some sauce left so now I need to think up what I can do with that. Oh, I'll freeze it and use it the next time I make a pizza.

@theslightedgeforever The ravioli looks good. The taco holders will come in handy on taco night. You could put tortillas in them and air fryer them. I have lots of cookbooks and online sources for recipes.

@trooworld The salmon recipe looks good. That’s good news about getting your walking pad today. A lot of Skinnytaste’s earlier recipes are labor intensive. But I bet it will be good. Hi, all! It’s really cold today. 38 degrees! I’m staying home and doing a Peloton workout on my bike. DH and I are going to my granddaughter’s Christmas band concert tonight. She is in the 6th grade and plays percussion. She has been talking private lessons for a few years. I’m preparing a recipe from Simple this afternoon so we can eat an early dinner. I’m fixing the one with chicken breast, low-fat cream cheese and pasta. I’m going to freeze one pound packages of chopped chicken breast so I can easily prepare other chicken recipes. There’s one with gnocchi that I have made. I might make that for family dinner on Tuesday.

@trooworld The recipe is Creamy Chicken and spinach tri-colore pasta, page 173. The gnocchi is on page 185.

Morning all, it's so cold here. I don't like being cold..LOL. I am maintaining in my weight. I really need to work on the exercises. I know as I get older, movement and core strength will be my friend. I am wanting to set some goals and usually I have a word for the year already, but I do not. One of my goals is to enjoy some of my crafting again.

@trooworld YEA!!! your walking pad should be here today. I don't know that I will ever eat salmon. LOL

@fabgeekmom good for you on continuing your exercise even though its cold. Enjoy your granddaughters concert tonight. I couldn't play an instrument of any kind. My dear brother always said I never had rhythm.. which I know isn't true, but I am not as good as him..LOL

@theslightedgeforever good for you for making your own food. I had to laugh at the DS comment..LOL. just think if he grew up with our mom..LOL

@cbabie I don’t like the cold either! I find that I gain weight if I don’t exercise. I’m also maintaining. I’m eating too many calories but still within my goals. Enjoy your crafting.

@trooworld I froze the chicken raw to use in recipes. But that would be a good idea to freeze it cooked. Good job of getting the walking pad set up. Hi, all! I finally lost 2 pounds and am back to what I weighed weeks before Thanksgiving. The chicken dish I prepared was good although a bit bland. DH and I ate it for lunch and ate a peanut butter sandwich with banana for dinner. My in laws used to do that. They called the midafternoon meal dinner. The concert was good although it was cold getting out. I wore a coat I bought a few years ago to wear to Rhode Island.

@trooworld Too bad about the cassoulet. I follow Skinnytaste on FB and can find out which recipes work even though everyone has different tastes. The prime rib, potatoes and Brussels sprouts sound good. I love themed meals. Have fun at the winery. Hi, all. Last night my son fixed New York strip steaks. So good and he seasons them really well. We also had air fried asked potatoes and roasted carrots. He made a blueberry Sally Lunn bread that was to die for. We have an extra loaf that I am freezing and saving for NYE. Lunch today is leftover steak.

@fabgeekmom I tried using tortillas once in the taco pans and they were too crispy. I don't like crispy foods. One of my kitchen fantasies is having a stocked freezer of shredded chicken breast, ground beef, etc. I already have my cut up red, green, and yellow peppers. Plus I bagged up 1 c servings of cauliflower rice in there. I need to just put some chicken breasts in my slow cooker and bag it up. I'm with you on not losing if I don't exercise. My food was really good last week but nothing on the scale. How was the concert? I would have loved for my grandparents to come to my choral concerts. I was even a special group. We sang and danced. @cbabie and I grew up with breakfast, dinner, and supper. My hubby is breakfast, lunch, dinner. Yaaay on your 2 lbs.

@trooworld I have a red polka dot apron like Betty Boop. It has a heart shaped neckline with lace. The raviolis were good. Too good. I had seconds. Shouldn't have. I still stayed within my weeklies though. But higher points than I wanted for the day. Post the brussels sprout recipe. I think I would like that.

@cbabie How about make your word or the year MOVE. Maybe we are all just storing our weight for the winter like bears.

I have been busy the past couple of days with parties. I think I did pretty well on the food. Small portions on both food and dessert. I tracked all my food. Exercise not so much. This next week I only have bookclub and one breakfast with a friend. So my word for the week is going to be MOVE.

@theslightedgeforever The concert was good. I got a little teary remembering all the band concerts we went to when our son and daughter were in the band. My daughter recorded it so I saw a close up of my granddaughter with her drum solo. Good luck on your meal preparations. When you make a meal make something extra to freeze.

@trooworld What a cutie! That dog is adorable! A beautiful place, too. I’m jealous of 80 degree weather! I’m glad the dog training went well and your meal was good. Hi, all. I did a holiday Peloton workout on my bike yesterday. I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. My daughter, son, husband and I ate at a Mediterranean restaurant last night. I had one stuffed grape leaf, a salmon kebab, a vegetable kebab and hummus. It came with rice but I had a small taste and decided it wasn’t worth the calories. My daughter came home and wrapped gifts for my granddaughter and we listened to Taylor Swift.

@trooworld Your recipes sound good. I did have a good weekend. We ate dinner at my daughter’s house last night. She prepared Skinnytaste Slow Cooker Moroccan Chicken with rice and roasted string beans. Hi, all. I slept late this morning and it felt good. Today is a swim day. Burgers and fries are on the menu for tonight. I bought string beans before I knew my daughter was going to have them I might go to the grocery store to buy a different vegetable.

@trooworld Thanks for the recipe. I'll try to make that next week. Your day at the winery looked wonderful. I have never heard of a wine slushy before. The color is pretty though. So is your walking pad all set up ready to use?

@fabgeekmom Yaaay on your bike workout. I love grape leaves. My favorite ones are the ones with a bit of pomegranate molasses drizzled over the top. I could just have a whole meal out of those. But I do love kebab and hummus too. Although not all hummus are the same. What's your favorite Taylor Swift song? I looked up that Skinnytaste recipe for Moroccan chicken. That looks good. I'll add it to my plan for next week.

I tried those taco shell pans with puff pastry. :D:D:D Didn't turn out as expected but it was good. Should have pricked the dough with a fork. That might have helped. Let's just call them mini taco salads.

@theslightedgeforever The tacos look good. I don’t really have a favorite Taylor Swift song. My son and daughter are Swiftties and I enjoy listening to her songs when they play them. Our plans for dinner changed as my cousin gave us some chicken meatballs in sauce with couscous. So all I have to do is warm it up!

@trooworld The work party sounds like fun. It’s good to get off early. @cbabie I hate the cold, too. It’s 36 now. I’m in Virginia so it’s not as cold as it is in the North and Midwest. Hi, all. Dinner last night was good, especially since all I had to do was reheat the dinner my cousin gave us. I sliced some zucchini thinly and put it on a rack under the broiler for a few minutes. I seasoned it with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Tonight I am making the chicken with sun dried tomatoes and gnocchi from Simple. Tonight is family dinner. I’m making bread, too. I’m going to the recreation center after breakfast. I need a calorie deficit for tonight! My daughter is bringing cookies that she made from the New York Times app.

@fabgeekmom Your cousin's dinner sounds good. It's always nice not to have to cook.

@cbabie If you didn't live in AZ your body would adapt. You didn't always live in AZ. lol Waiting for the holidays to be over. Don't you realize they are never over? There is a holiday almost every month. Enjoy the days as they come. Get your body moving. Even if it's 5 mins at a time. Put on a Leslie Sansone video on your Ipad and walk for 5 min

@gemwolf110 The taco salads were good. How are your furbabies?

I took the waiting time today for my fajitas to finish in the oven and walked on the treadmill. Only 20 min but more than I did yesterday.

Pups are doing great. Huskies and thrilled it’s getting colder only wished that Mondays storm was snow. My bichon could care less she likes curling up either on the couch or bed, she is 13.5 years old now.

@gemwolf110 Are you still doing well with your weight loss?

@trooworld I'm trying to teach myself the habit of move my body when an opportunity presents itself instead of just sitting and looking at my phone. That's good you had lots of healthy choices at your party. It's always nice to see former colleagues. Unless they were jerks. :D

I walked today for 45 min. Still maintaining my weight. Which is good and is bad.

It’s good that you can work from home and not drive in the rain. @theslightedgeforever It’s good that you are taking time to exercise. @cbabie You posted a few days ago and it sounds like you are busy with family. I hope things are going well with you. @gemwolf110 I hope you are doing well. Hi, all. I went swimming this morning. Last night’s dinner was good. I have enough leftover for a meal for my DH, son and me later in the week. Tonight I am preparing the meal I was going to make on Monday: burgers, French fries and string beans. My daughter brought some cookies that she made, Mexican hot chocolate cookies. I only ate one. That was not hard to do as they were a bit spicy.

@theslightedgeforever That's great that you took advantage of the time to walk on the treadmill.

@gemwolf110 How is school going? Are you on break now? I'm glad to hear your pups are doing great.

Hi all. The party was nice, there were some former coworkers there who either retired or got laid off so it was nice to see them. Food was mostly healthy except for dessert. I didn't eat dinner because of eating at about 2:30-3 pm. I'm making Swedish meatballs tonight for dinner. A big rain storm is coming our way this week and I'm glad I work from home today. Unfortunately tomorrow, I will have to drive in. I may see if I can work from home tomorrow so I don't have to drive in the rain.

    Water yesterday: 40 oz

My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."

School is going good. 3 weeks in to my third course have no idea how it’s already week 3. We get next week off. Then 7 more weeks and I get 12 weeks off (going every other term). Pups are doing great! Tried to switch them off of a prescription diets but one of the 3 didn’t do well. So she’s sticking on the prescription diet until I find a diet that works best for her.

We had our rainstorm earlier in the week. So much rain felt like a mini version of the flood of 2010. Smart to not drive in the rain.

So we had to be talking about French Toast at the Christmas party at work. Mind you the party was the boss ordering Panera and we all ate at our cubicles it was a nice thought and all. So the conversation about French toast and then realizing in need to use up some eggs and loaf of bread before they go bad had me make the French Toast Casserole pictured below. Smells delicious and I’m sure tastes yummy as well.

@gemwolf110 I’m glad school is going well. It’ll be nice to have a week off. The casserole looks yummy. @trooworld Too bad about driving in the rain. But it’ll be nice to work at home tomorrow. Hi, all. I’m finishing my coffee now. My husband cooked bacon and it was good. I buy the center cut so calories aren’t too bad. I’m going to the recreation center and then going grocery shopping. I need a few more things to last the week. I’m out of my low calorie bread and I need some fruit and Greek yogurt. I have started eating that after lunch as a dessert. The difference between now and WW is I am measuring the amounts. I weighed this morning and I am up 1 pound but within the 2 pound range I seem to get to.
