My cousin Kate was born on the 29th of February..she is celebrating her 16th birthday lol..she is actually my age lol.
Mr Alfie comes home tomorrow morning.

Yes, when he read on our group family email (that husband puts out periodically to all 3 sons) that I was on anti depression meds regarding not hearing from Owain he knew he needed to call home. I was actually on it maybe 2 months. We talked about it when he was home, and he really was in a sad frame of mind. It had also been so long, that there was so much guilt about it. We talked about his normal response of drawing into himself, instead of reaching out. I told him that family can help share the hardships, and lesson the stress of life. He does like to be "up on all the gossip". I think both sons were surprised that family members came out to wish them well.👍🏼💖⚓

Turns out it was an F2 tornado-hit on the south east side of county (I live in north east). Quite a bit of damage. They say it was on the ground for over 16 miles-did alot of bouncing around, Best man from our wedding (kids called him and his wife Uncle and Aunt) had half of his house ripped away. A bit strange hearing them give the road and show street signs and you realize who lives there. He seems to be fine-I called him a bit after 6:30 this am. Will check on him tomorrow. Daughters are nearby. Luckily only three injuries reported and no deaths. Very lucky considering it hit at 5:00 am.

Kylia-thanks for checking on me! Is there a pond near you? We used to go catch crawdads at CJ Brown Reservoir-DH would keep them in fishtank to help clean. He and sons were also know to boil a bunch of them. I'm not big on them or crabs and lobsters. They will come out of the water and wander a bit.

Allie-glad things look well for babies.

Ok, had enough for day. Was up at 4 with storms to off to bed I go.

Heather- what a lot or travelling. I have done very little really, but it’s also not something I’m overly interested in except Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. I would like to go there. I hope someday you make it to Quebec. Do they stop in other places in Canada too?

Ginny - that must have been a fright to wake up to.

Lisa - I have been noticing the wrinkles starting and think I need to do something. I also have noticed that my eyelids seemed to have disappeared. There must be something for that too. I am vain as well, but I want to look much younger for getting hired into a younger persons field.

Debbie - I really wish your DH would walk away, it would be better for all concerned. The way she treats him he owes her nothing.
I’m more like you I enjoy some quiet, DH always has the tv on.

Vicki - Are you called for jury duty 12 times?

Rebecca - it just be a relief that he knows what hurt and pain it caused and that he probably won’t do that again.

Joy - I do stay on top of my cupboards but a lot of food I won’t eat so I depend on DH to eat it and then he doesn’t. So frustrating. I only buy it for him.

Allie - great news for Tracy and the babies. How is Kyle handling things now?

Had an interesting class today, we listened to a podcast where teens were given to opportunity to speak freely without fear of repercussions. They were given pseudonyms. They were given one interview in 2018 and the one we listened to was a follow-up on Jan 1 2020.
One 16 year old stated used an analogy to describe anxiety and depression.
He said that anxiety is the lighter fluid and depression is the match. It’s a dangerous combination.
Very accurate in my opinion.

This afternoon I started Kaitlyn’s scrapbook, I finished the first and last page, and have pictures placed on 2 more pages, need to decorate it yet.

She had very neutral colours for her wedding and I’m struggling with the design and colours in the layouts. Most of my papers and decorations include lots of colour.

I was going to go to ceramics tonight to make up for my missed class last Thursday, but I just didn’t feel like going out. I think I’m fighting something, I’m very tired yesterday and today.

Woke up this morning to find I'd won £30 on the lottery! It will just go to more tickets, but it will save me money.

Might have a hair trim.

Yesterday was a triumph of the will. Un triomphe de la volonté. Legs were really hurting and I did not feel like going to French Circle. When I woke up from my nap, I could hardly move.

Did various pumping and stretching exercises and got my face on. I even took my temperature, I felt so awful.
Went downstairs and asked John if he would accompany me to Fatto a Mano. I had given him the option of not coming to the group, because his favourite team were playing in the FA Cup. So, we walked out into cold drizzle to get the bus.

We enjoyed our meal together. I chatted about some ideas for my projected book.
Then I got another bus in the rain, and walked for 10 minutes to the venue. Phew! Glad I made it.
I chatted to a woman even older than me who has just restarted learning French. Her accent was terrible.

The talk and recitations were very interesting, but I, by no means, picked up all the words.
Look up Madame de Sevigné on Wikipedia. Her writing style is lively and witty and very observant. Born in 1626. She must have been quite a gal!

Walked back to the bus and then a short walk to home. It had stopped raining.
My legs survived OK.

Painting session this afternoon, and tomorrow is scheduled cuddle afternoon. I must fit a walk in.
Cauliflower Cheese tonight.

I have a ‘free’ morning. Our monthly meeting is after lunch. The speaker is a local author.

Watched the final of Landscape Artist of the Year. Then a programme about the commission she won to create a painting representing The Orkneys and how they were in the forefront of renewable energy technologies. Fascinating in all sorts of ways.

Some of you will remember my attachment to the 'Hairy Bikers' and the recipes this cooking duo have produced. I've watched all their cooking shows, and one new one is currently showing on the BBC.
We do a favourite chicken dish regularly that we just call, Hairy Bikers, though it appears in the Hairy Dieters book.
Well, last night, one of the duo died. Dave Myers. He was 66. He had been suffering from cancer for nearly two years, but was well enough, after treatment, to continue filming the new series. So strange to have seen him on the screen this week, saying he was glad to be alive, and then to hear he has died.
A lovely man.
Yes, I did cry. The duo are a National Treasure. What life will be like for his friend Sy, I can't imagine. He had his own scare a few years ago with an aneurysm, I think.
Anyway, feeling sad, and a little bit taken by surprise.

Going to go out with John to the charity shop and Chinese shop in order to get my walk in. I have three white, long-sleeved, T shirts to take, along with kids books the girls sorted for me at the weekend. I think my days of white are over!

Shows every lump and bump.

It's my anniversary today. Today is the anniversary of the day on which my husband asked me to marry him 28 years ago. I'm so excited. We're going out to dinner. We celebrate 🍾 this day religiously, because we were actually married on Christmas Eve, and every year we are always so busy that we don't have time to celebrate. So, every four years we make sure to make a big deal out of celebrating Leap Year. Does that make us leaplings? @Machka9

I'm not able to sleep much tonight, not because of my insomnia, but because I'm in pain due to what I think is a UTI. I will need to try and make a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I hope I can get in fast. I don't want it to ruin my anniversary.

Oh, we are also getting our nails done. Hubby agreed to a manicure and pedicure. 😍 He never wants anyone to do his feet but me. I was a manicurist years ago, and he says I can do them just fine. Uhggg. His feet are nice, but he wears a size 13. Those are some heavy tootsies.

Well I stepped away for a minute and decided to start searching my doctor's office website for the elusive "Book your own appointment" part of the website. I had to go to a completely different website, but I found it. I don't know if I could find it again, but someone is looking out for me because guess what? There was one appointment available at 11:15AM. Since the next appointment was a week away, I was lucky to get in. So nails 9:00AM-check, doctor 11:15AM-check, time for eat the rainbow lunch-check, drop off daughter for after school activity 5:00PM-check, dinner with hubby-check check check. Things are looking up.

If you are interested in the Eat the Rainbow, it's something I'm doing in the same group for which I made all those soups. Actually I'm just having fun taking pictures of all my food. I'm having so much fun that when I was at Good Will tonight, I bought a shmattering of dishware so I had some new dishes to put my food in for the photos. LOL I'll just re-donate them when I'm through. Some of them are so cute though. I'll show some here. I do have one Eat the Rainbow photo I think is rather pretty. It's just a salad, but it turned out nice.

Oh my, it's 3:15AM. I should try to get some sleep. I have a big day tomorrow.

I read everyone's posts, and I want to say just a few things without going back an finding names. I don't have the patience for that right now.

First, thank God the twins are looking good, she may have a beautiful blessing on her hands.

Next, I think I might take some photos of my desert scaped yard for those who are into the plants. My husband and I planted it about three years ago, and it's coming along beautifully. I'll have to do a little weeding first.

M. I cried at the story of the music helping your husband. How wonderful for you to have done that for him.

Everyone seems too be having wonderful visits with their children. I'm so happy for you. My oldest son remains in Kuwait. His wife sends us pictures of the babies, but it's not the same. I wish he could come home and we could go see all of them. Enjoy your time. It is precious.

As for the physical ailments, I know, it sucks! I wish everyone well.

I gave up on white when I was a very little girl. Actually I think my mother gave up for me!

She could wear white and still does from time to time (but more subtly now).

I could not. I was and still am a walking disaster area the minute I put white on.

The only way I would wear a long-sleeved white T-shirt is under a dress or another top.

And you're right, white does tend to show every lump and bump unless you're wearing an oversized white button up shirt (like what men wear to work).

Good morning ladies!

Heather I agree about wearing white. It's one of the rules for sorting mom's clothes. It never washes well for me.

My medical terminology book came, so it's off to the races with that project. Yay! Thanks to all of you who are encouraging me. I'm a little afraid my memory won't be enough for this project. All I can do is try.

I also received The Hunger Habit by Judson Brewer. So far, I'm not impressed. He has never had food/weight issues himself. He spends a lot of time bashing CICO in the first three chapters, which is not useful. A lot of people have to do the counting to learn portion control. And it works well alone, or in conjunction with other methods. And I'm using it now. I bought the book seeking encouragement. But I'm through that part, so maybe it gets better.

He does bring up some Buddhist concepts which I find interesting. There's an emphasis on meditation, which helps a person to separate impulse from action. There's an action plan that lasts a couple weeks, but it would be too much on top of my pharmacy studies.

I'm having leg pains that wake me up at night. Hmm. Maybe when MFP tells me I'm low on potassium, it is right. Meanwhile I am eating bananas and dried apricots.

I cancelled horseback riding today because it's cold and I thought there was a severe storm coming but now I think the storm was last night. My mistake. It's still cold, though.
