Did a lower body total body DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do an incline interval workout then go to Aldi to return some things, the WalMart to make return and buy a sun visor (my eyes are still bothering me) and buy gas
It was pretty chilly and very windy so I cleaned and did laundry,
Evelyn - hope you make it with your friends
Jess just told us that she’s coming to NC Thurs, probably shortly after we get home. Great I don’t know what we’re going to have for dinner, Well, I think I have ravioli in the freezer and we’ll be taking spaghetti back with us. I usually make up a fruit basket for Jess and Colby for Easter but I also put a bottle of wine in it along with a chocolate bunny
tracey – Do you peel your bananas before freezing them? I usually peel mine then wrap them individually in plastic wrap. I’m sorry about your dishwasher
When we get back, I definitely want to make an appt with the eye MD. I’m sure it’s allergies, I remember a while ago Vince was allergic to a pollen down here and he couldn’t breathe I just want to be sure that no permanent damage was done.
M – aren’t eye problems the pits. My eyes tear and I can’t see. Also, they’re very sensitive to light
Bras: Mine have to be padded and no underwire.
I definitely find that having protein really fills me up. If I have it at night, I’m not tempted to munch (at least not much)
Anne – you’re doing great with your exercising adding a little at a time. I’m impressed
Lisa – very close call with that tree. Happy it didn’t hit the house
Carol – so sorry for your loss
going to rest my eyes.

Sue in WA State - Did my yoga 7/7 times this week, strength and balance 5/5 and made it to water exercise twice. I was able to do two 5 minute walks but sinus infection is making that hard. I need to divorce food from emotion. Thinking about doing some journaling to help with that. I journaled in the past but have not done much since moving to WA.
Kylia in Ohio - I haven't posted as was out of town, then ill. I lost .7 pounds at beginning of March and so far maintaining. Only 11 more to go! Just treading along trying to make the best decisions I can in the moment.
Rita in Roswell NM - I’m up .3 of a pound this week. Did not walk as much as I should. I’ll blame it on the weather, but it was just my mood.
Evelyn on Vancouver Island BC - This has not been a good week, I have made some poor food choices and while that may not have been the worst thing to happen, I have also overindulged in these poor choices. Also, if sitting is the new smoking, I'm up to a couple packs a day! Needless to say, my weight is up this week. Some of the poor choices were on the salty side, so I shall be trying to up my water intake and down my sugar intake and see what happens! Oh and try to be more active!
Lanette in SW WA State- Celebrating weight staying at lower end of my desired range and sore foot/toes are showing improvement. Navigating diet to eliminate or at least cut way back on simple sugars and “white carbs” – rice, white flour products/breads, potatoes. Goal is to get FBS under 110 or closer to 100. Need to turn that A1C around, it’s heading the wrong direction.
@SophieRosieMom How do I join the weekly weigh-ins? Please put me down at 164 pounds. I’ve decided to give my best for the next, 11 days -1 for a party. Strictly sticking to my calories, walking and water. Too much stress eating, lately. Hoping less after today and making better choices. 🙂

Chatted with both my sisters yesterday. They initiated the video chats which I was thrilled by. It really calmed me, my sons now overseas for a handful of years, I am not so stressed about it, but just melancholy. Last week I needed to vent about it, and texted my middle sister. Of course she didn't want to text, so I texted my eldest sister and she got right back with me. Why I just don't go to her in the first place...🙄. I did mention to my middle sister yesterday that I needed her last week and ended up calling our elder sis. She apologized, which I didn't expect, I just told her she isn't my go to person, and that's perfectly ok. There are people you rely on for your sanity and people that like to chat about light things and not the nitty gritty. She would rather not personally invest into emotional stuff.
Then today my youngest called. We video chatted a good hour, that sweet bug. I miss us sitting sipping coffee and chatting, but video chatting is the next best thing. He took the 1st Class Petty Officer test so fingers crossed. He said he didn't do too well, but you never know! He said he expected water and a granola bars for the snacks afterwards but the Chiefs went all out with cold coffees, orange juices, energy drinks, chocolate muffins and donuts! He was impressed!
Feeling blessed today! Hugs ladies!

Carol, I'm so sorry to hear of your brother in law's passing, although it does sound as if it was for the best. Hugs to you and your hubby.
April, I forgot yesterday, but YAY for your son waking up! Such good news! Please refresh my memory, was it a car accident he was in?
Tracey, thanks for the school info, I'm so excited for you!
Tina, I go thru phases where I just don't feel like cooking, so we do stuff out of boxes (frozen chicken fingers, fish etc) but then that passes and I will cook "properly" for awhile, then I'm not in the mood again, rinse and repeat....
Lisa, thanks for posting the pics of your mural in progress, I enjoyed seeing the way the work grew and morphed into the finished product.
Today wasn't a super stellar day, but I did get to the gym (18 min elliptical, then 50 min core strength class) and this afternoon got out and finished cleaning out my flower beds. I have a few large pots that I've emptied and need to figure out what I want to do with. The darn squirrels ate most of the bulbs and iris tubers that I had out there, grrrr. I have salvaged what I could and moved them out front. Hopefully it will take the little blighters a long time to find them! Other stuff has done okay out front, so fingers crossed. I only need to worry about the deer eating the pansies....
My eating was not as good as it could have been, but, baby steps. I'm pretty sure I drank enough water today tho, I certainly expelled a large amount of it!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the new gals!

Rebecca, I'm so glad that your middle sister is taking a more active part in communicating, I know you were quite concerned about her. Eli is just the cutest!
Michele, my friends and I didn't get together, but we will this coming Monday, it's normally a weekly thing, but stuff keeps happening! lol
That's enough for me, must go to bed.
Evelyn, Vancouver Island2 -
Awake for three hours. I had taken every painkiller allowed, so I crept downstairs and had a small glass of milk with a slug of whisky in it! Plus the end of a small loaf. That settled me a bit so I went to sleep eventually and overslept by half an hour! That is very unusual for me. (I hope not to make a habit of the whisky). I probably should have made up a hot water bottle, but I didn't want to wake John. The kettle is very loud. I might do that next time and shut the kitchen door. It's jammed open with a wedge door stop, so not as easy as it sounds if you are trying to be quiet!
His sister rang me on WhatsApp video last evening. Nice surprise. She had her ankle fused over a year ago. Complete recovery. She also was a senior nurse, so good to chat to.
Might paint my sky this afternoon. I'm a bit nervous about it, but it is nagging at me.
My friend G is off to Paris today, to see the Rothko exhibition. She had asked me to join her. Supposed to be decent weather. Oh well. I will enjoy it vicariously.
Off to find some more drugs.

Read all the posts but from phone not laptop so no word doc with comments. Waiting for pre-op Valium to kick in. Hardest will be no fluids, not even water after 4 am. Joe is being a champion at thoughtful care. That’s today’s gratitude. A far cry from when, decades ago, he refused to pick me up from the ER after I’d broken my wrist. Told me to take a cab. He was working nights then…. My/our lives are so much better now!
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Barbara - Is the valium for your MRI (which I thought was yesterday?) Did I skip something about an operation? Sending hugs!!! and best of luck for what ever is happening.

Remember that rash I developed when I was in Canada?
It's ba-a-a-a-a-ck!!
<<heavy sigh>>
It's under my chin and crawling down my neck.
I can't think what has set this off. I avoid essential oils like the plague. I don't use creams and things. I don't vary my products much (same hairspray, same laundry detergent, same shampoo, same conditioner, same foods, same vitamins and minerals ...
The only thing I can think of is stress.
It's so incredibly frustrating. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday.10 -
Thank you all for your understanding and kind words about my BIL's passing. It is much appreciated!

Javaplace and others who want to be included in the Weekly Check-in....
Please message your info to me on Sunday or Monday morning. My goal is to post it by noon every Monday - Pacific Standard time or whatever it is these days.
We have to be MFP friends in order to use their messaging system, so send me a friend request and that will get things lined up.
Unfortunately, I often don't read all posts here, but I do check the messages over the weekend, so adding information to a regular post for me to pick up won't work for inclusion in the Monday post I send out.
Please let me know if this isn't confusing enough, lol.

Good morning ladies!
Barbara good luck with the op! I'm with Lanette, I was aware of the MRI but I missed the operation coming up. Warm hugs to you!
Heather I'm sorry you are suffering so much with your pain. I had a little hip pain that woke me up at 3 am; just a taste of what you are going through. It was miserable.
Machka oh no! The rash is back? Hope the doctor can give you some answers.
I see the eye doctor today, so there's a fair chance of new glasses, which will be expensive.
Have a great day my friends! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Today my book says Motivation is a choice. It's 100 Days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle. If you choose to do the little things that get you on your way, you will be motivated to finish. For me, turning the music on gets me going. She is right, although I also believe that habits, once established, are very important.
I have more trouble with discipline, with being motivated to avoid actions like emotional eating. But steeping myself in the culture of weight loss helps a lot. And reviewing my reasons why daily. That's why I read these books.

Carol ... just because medical science can keep a body alive, does not mean we should. You and your husband have been faithful in taking care of your BIL. Sadly, sometimes that care includes release. May you find peace in the days ahead. Praying for you, your husband and family.
Beth10 -
I have been eating outside of my preferred schedule and have been eating way, way too much. The scale confirms I've been misbehaving. Today, I'll work at keeping within my schedule.
Beth near Buffalo7 -
Beth you can do it!
I did my twenty minutes on my bike and fourteen minutes walking! Yay!
Next is off to the eye doctor, and then fit my meditation in this afternoon.
Annie in Delaware5 -
Evie - Good for you, getting to the gym. You're doing well on getting the minutes going on the elliptical.
Annie - Same for you - pleased to see you using the psychological habits that work for you. What Spangle said about the getting started is something I use. If I get the music going, I will exercise. Just another tool or habit.
Regarding Barbara AHMOD - I'm pretty sure it was a dental surgery that she needed, though I could be wrong. Hope it goes well, with a successful surgery and a painfree recovery.
Machka - I'm so sorry about the rash, so frustrating to have these things pop up that make it hard to pin down their origin and fix the problem...
Beth - Snow? Urk!
Acupuncture at 1:30 this afternoon, yoga and elliptical this morning. The afternoon should be nice. If I'm not too wiped out, I should be able to get a few things done outside after my appointment. Amazon came through and said my top-feed scanner will be in tomorrow, a day early. Hope that happens - which just goes to show you what a geek I really am. So looking forward to getting that in and getting started with this project! I did talk to my daughter and she does want to have the physical scrapbooks, so I will probably ship things to her when I get everything finished. I don't want them in the house once I'm done with them...
Just talked to Corey for his good morning call, and he thinks the drops to shrink the swelling of his eye have helped a lot. Said he didn't realize how much of a headache he had until it started fading away. That tells me he'll keep using the drops and taking the antibiotics, because he seemed to feel better than he has in weeks. So pleased he got seen yesterday.
Off to the races, kids,
Hope it's a grand day where y'all are,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Annie - good luck at the optometrist today. I found out a few years ago that since my sis has glaucoma, Medicare will pay for the exam at least. It's astounding what new frames and lenses cost, tho there are inexpensive options in some areas - I'm not aware of any in mine. I appreciate what you are sharing as you learn about weight loss, I've picked up a few of your tips.
Heather- is your appointment with the consultant next Monday? Any idea when you'll be able to see the ortho doc/surgeon or will that be established then? The sooner the better, right? So sorry about the pain you had last night. We get desperate when it affects our sleep.
Lisa - that's right, I think Barbara was having fun at the dentist today. Have fun with your project. Glad Corey's eye is feeling better already.
Machka - sorry that rash is back. Hope you can determine the cause and get it under control. So frustrating when we think we have conditions nailed and they come back from another angle.
My crazy toes were acting up when I first got out of bed this morning, but the magic beans and a little walking seemed to help a lot. Magic beans = coffee. Rain coming back after several days of high pressure and sunshine, that might be kicking off some pain.
Starting tomatoes:I popped tomato seeds into the germination tray a week ago, most have sprouted and now have true leaves, so I'll be transferring them into 4" pots within the next few days. I discovered after I had the seeds planted, I actually planted them a month earlier than I had intended. Last year I started them mid-April, not March. Duh! Pay attention, Netters! A great little nursery in a neighboring town, which sold fabulous veggie and flower starts for great prices, has closed due to the owner passing away recently. I was planning on a crop failure and using them as a backup, so maybe it's good I got mine going early so I can supply the neighbors.
On with the day.
