Margaret-Thanks for sharing your experience. I am in a similar position-I just wanted to make sure. I have never had gutters or downspouts replaced (so they could be close to originals!). Turns out after the testing my basement is really pretty dry.

Lanette-I would probably forget Staples and take computer to the computer shop you mentioned. And I believe we all put up with each other! That's what friends do.

After gentleman left today I had lunch and then took a nap. Pretty much a slug today. I did get out for an hour walk-rather brisk out there today. I do have a load finishing in washing machine so I will go put it in dryer and wash another load of blankets from when kids were here and get them packed away tomorrow.

I think I will balance check book and pay bills-that is something that needs to be done. May go to bed early despite nap. My blood work is all good-I am thinking I am still having post Covid fatigue-the two bouts last year did me in!

I did not really have too much of a productive day. I did get a loaf made as it looks like us gals are getting together on Monday! YAY! It's been so long! Between illness (mostly me) and folks going away, it's been 5-6 weeks since we've gotten together, far too long in my opinion! I also got a little bit of crafting done. I haven't done any resin casting for a few weeks, finally poured the start of a few items. Some of the stuff I'm doing requires 2 or 3 layers to make it look like I want, which means that many different pours with about 24 hours in between. I like to make sure the first layer is cured before I pour
the second. Oh and I did dishes, there weren't many, so I took the opportunity to wipe some counter space that doesn't always get wiped. I even took some stuff off the counters and put it away! lol
Didn't make it to the gym yesterday or today, really haven't felt like it all week, but did go Sunday thru Thursday, and tomorrow I will either walk with my friend or go to the gym. The weather the last few days has been kind of blah, so the motivation was lacking. It's supposed to be really nice tomorrow, so.....
Yesterday I did get the bathrooms cleaned, bedding changed and floors vacuumed. I even washed the main level floors! And then today I dropped a whole egg on the kitchen floor..... ugh. That's when I miss having a cat! lol

Busy day...
Corey got a lot done on his raised beds, and couldn't resist trying out a few stones, which will eventually clad the outside of the beds. That's probably a 50-pound slab of rock he's toting around like it's nothing.


I worked for four hours and got this many bricks set. Not many, all things considered, but having never laid even one brick before, I'm reasonably pleased. Lots more to do.. Don't have enough sand to get the whole bed finished, but can definitely get some more done until Corey brings home some more sand.


And then... I walked in the house, and Egg was crouched on the kitchen floor, looking intently at something brown on the rug under the table... and it was a baby snake. I debated screaming and calling for help but was too tired to even be scared. I just grabbed a paper towel and picked it up behind the head. Took it outside and gifted it to the neighbor over the back fence.


So an eventful day. 🐈‍⬛😍👀🙃😀

Annie - I had that happen before it was a simple fix if I’m remembering correctly.

Ginny - yeah the wiring is correct, I’m pretty sure it’s the plumbing, the whole place needs to have plumbing upgraded and done correctly, it was quoted at $3500 though and we just don’t have the money.

Terri - Yes the little figures are in scale! This week or next I should have it all done and ready for its official picture.
Sorry to hear you had a fall, glad it wasn’t serious.
I have been reading of my ancestors from Ireland and trying to match pictures with names. I found letters my Grandmother had received with some information from Belfast.

Kylia - thank you so much. Yesterday my memory on FB from two years ago was that I wished I would have been a teacher at times. Now here I am about to start a practicum to become an Education Assistant, it’s surreal.
Sorry you’re still having to deal with arguments with DH and headaches not a good combination.

Heather - I think it’s fair that you would want John to be more outwardly supportive. Rodger tends to withdraw when it’s him, but if it’s me he tends to check in with me more often.

Kylia and Lisa - I too, have the all or nothing attitude. I’ve been really trying to correct that because I’m going to be in for huge trouble working with children that need EA’s.
In saying that, today I went to straighten up the craft/spare room today for Jonah’s sleepover and ended up being in there 4.5 hours and ended up even rearranging some of it. Now my foot is hurting.

Beth - The name of that app was called Photomyne - I was looking at it again the other day, I really want to buy a year’s subscription to it.

Lanette - I think that you’re right, I don’t think Rodger would do well without me, but I think I would be without him. Not that I want to test that theory anytime soon. My mom didn’t really handle it well without my Dad, but she was already having Alzheimer’s symptoms that we were thinking was grief. In the end, Dad would not have had patience for Mom to have Alzheimer’s. His Mom, his sister who helped raise him, and two brothers all had it. He didn’t handle it very well with them and he wasn’t even in a caregiving role.

As I mentioned I rearranged my craft room a bit today. I don’t know why I didn’t think about doing this months ago!
I put my desk right in front of my bookshelf. I can still get at the lower two shelves easily enough and it gives me so much more floor space!



Tomorrow I have to do some homework without fail. Kaitlyn is coming Monday so I won’t have time then.

Tracey - Love the craft room arrangement. Good job.
I've been thinking about getting some of those drawers on wheels for our art supplies. I could wheel it into the utility room when we weren't using it, but there is a spare hoover in the space that I never use. The cleaner brings her own. It could go in the garage. Food for thought. At the moment the stuff is in a mixture of plastic containers and shoe boxes and shoved in big, low, drawers. It's a nuisance getting it all out. It has to be out of sight, because the room's primary function is a dining room. I decluttered some paintings last night, and put them in the growing pile upstairs.

Lisa - Your outside efforts always fill me with amazement! I hardly ever even set foot outside. Let alone do physical work. At the moment I have a good excuse, but the mere thought of it fills me with dread. I used to do vegetable gardening in our last house, but only for the results. I just don't like the outside! :laugh: Well done on the bricks!

I will ready my body for my surgeon tomorrow. I think a bath is beyond my capability, but could manage a foot soak and a strip wash. I may dare the shower. Take it all very slowly. At the moment I am crawling down the stairs backwards.
