This week I hit a derailment with 2 drinking nights in a row. Depressing. It wasn't even very tasty. Red wine, bleh. I regret the calories, hot flashes, and acid indigestion. I was having such a good no-drinking streak and I think I just got to the end of my "stress" threshold. I am dealing with a lot of medical stuff right now so my resiliency level is just not the same. Rant-a-way I guess I could, but I'll shut up and stop here. No excuses, I am pissed at myself.
Soon as I derail, I know a quick turnaround is necessary. I will not be drinking Mon-Fri this week for certain. If things get bad, I will hit the hot cocoa. If things get stressful, I will take a nap. If someone annoys me, I will drink passionflower tea (it's pretty good). I have choices, I am in charge and responsible.
Hope you guys make this a successful week for yourselves.

I kind of struggled last night with my plan not to drink. It’s like I made the plan not to do it, but it kept coming back into my head to do it. But, I didn’t. Hubby and I have been binge watching “The Blacklist”, so we watched 3 episodes last night while I drank drank about 44 oz of water. Then, we went to bed. Slept well until my bladder decided it needed relieved of that 44 oz of water at 4am.
@globalhiker rant if you need to. I think we all get it, and sometimes ranting helps relieve the stress even better than a drink does. I’ve turned to journaling again to help with the stress. I rant away in a journal as much and as often as I need to, and it feels better to have gotten it out than to let it sit and fester. So, if you want to rant here, then do it. Those of us who want to read it will and those who don’t won’t. Maybe it’ll help… maybe it won’t. But what could it hurt? 🤷🏻♀️5 -
Ok time to reset this week.
Had way too much wine and junkie food on Saturday. Ended up not staying down in the middle of the night.UGGG!!
Hangover was intense on Sunday. I will have no desire to drink for the next 4 days...

I feel the urge to do something. I've got the no alcohol going on already. Thinking of avoiding added sugar/sweets.
Cutting alcohol definitely causes sugar cravings. I so want to quit having those cravings.
Hopefully, I can get a plan in place by the 1st. Dang homework is robbing all my time. At least I make sure I get to the gym regularly.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
I once did a 21 day Sugar detox. Here’s a copy of the book. It really worked well for me. I should do it again. I’d be in for April!6 -

Oh I feel this so much! Welp, I’ll tell you what everyone on this thread told me last time I was in your position (which was not that long ago)….. give yourself some grace.
Slipping up does not make you a bad person, lazy, or stupid. Makes you human. Don’t beat yourself up. We’re all on your side, and we’ve all been there.4 -

I’m with you on the reset! I had a super fun, but super boozy weekend. Went over my limits each day. No hangover, but I’ve certainly had them in the past. We got this!5 -
@globalhiker gosh I truly hope you can see how far you’ve come since the beginning of your journey! When I get down about overdoing, I need to remind myself of the importance of all my logged AF days! It’s easy to lose sight and see what we didn’t do vs. what we have done and can do.
@tmbg1 - your monthly stats are off the charts, super outstanding!
@xbowhunter - you sound determined after a weekend of imbibing!4 -
Had my planned Sunday white wine last night, and went over limits by including a Prosecco. There is half a bottle of KC low alcohol wine left over which will I will have on my next planned night - Thursday.
I am ready to build up to 10-11 AF days for this month…..it hasn’t been easy but I think I can, I think I can, I know I can.

Hello everyone
been MIA last few day. Got some sort of nasty bug that has pretty much kept me in bed with fever, chills, body aches ya know the drill. Today I got feeling great until I tried to change the bed linen's. haha that nearly wiped me out. So back to bed I went for another few hours. No A for me for sure. Not since our 2 beer lunch last week.
I am attempting a new painting but I just don't have the energy or focus to continue until I start feeling better.
So I am going to wish you all a wonderful week and will check back in later9 -
@Womona
Thank you for the recommendation. That will be helpful. It will be nice to have someone to share experiences with doing the challenge.3 -

I need to do the sugar detox, too. I'm still doing 16/8, but I tend to hit the sweets between dinner and my 8PM cutoff. It's becoming a habit and it defeats the point of the 16h fast.
I had a 20oz excellent lager with a friend on Sat night. Delicious! Then, I got the idea of having some whisky when I got home. Just a short pour right before bed. Felt great right after, but disturbed my sleep. Not worth it!

2 glasses of wine last night. Probably should’ve stuck with one, but it wasn’t awful.7 -

Monday was a good turn-around "AF" day. Feeling motivated. This is the final week of the month. HOME STRETCH.
@Michiel125 I appreciate the reminder and yes, we do need to remember we all came a long way
@Womona good advice and you remind me that striving for continuous perfection as much as I want it, winds up being unrealistic
@NonnieDoiron great idea about journaling, it is a great way to get those negative thoughts cleared out and off the mind.
Hanging on to my weight loss goal for motivation. 5.6 lbs. lost since beginning of the month. I'll keep up the healthy behaviors including walking 2x a day. I've also gotten into making my own soups for lunch using quality low sodium chicken broth as a base. I throw in equal parts fresh garlic and ginger, then liberal amounts of coconut aminos. Sometimes cilantro at the end. Yesterday was an Asian cabbage soup and some zucchini. Sometimes I add egg, other times it's tofu or left over cooked chicken. Last week it was mushroom, peppers, water chestnuts, sugar snap peas, carrots. I just open the bag of frozen mixed veg and throw it into the broth.Total time is 10-15min max. I will never eat canned soup again. My next soup project will be a lower-calorie Tuscan artichoke soup with sun-dried tomatoes.
What's been good about soups (for me): it's hydrating, it's filling, I can have 3-4 cups of it and not feel like I've over-eaten, it's low calorie, a great way to use up veggies I was going to throw out anyway, it's nourishing, does not have the chemicals and modified stuff in the store bought stuff, I feel satisfied and warm and full all afternoon so I have good appetite control at dinner.

@I_am_motivated I'd be up for a 30 day challenge. Sweets aren't really a problem for me, but snacking between meals has become an issue. Would I be able to do that instead or are you looking for everyone to do the same challenge?
@globalhiker I've gotten pissed at myself too for drinking when I told myself I wouldn't. I just did two wine nights in a row, but I'm staying upbeat this time and reminding myself that since my start day of 3/11, I've been AF over 50% of the days, and I used to drink every single day. I'm working more on focusing on my positive behaviors instead of kicking myself for negative ones. That being said, sometimes it just feels good to rant and get it all out Glad you have your weight loss motivating you.
@lmlmrn I hope you're feeling better today.
