@littleblackskirt Mom was 19 and Dad was 21 when they married. 18 months later, along came me, then my sister & three brothers... Mom was 27 and had 5 little kids to take care of. I can't even imagine!

@Bex953172 Our location is at 84% for the solar eclipse, but hubby and I don't have the proper viewing equipment. We just passed the peak about 40 minutes ago, and the house was dark inside, while outside, the light was weird too. Two friends have traveled to view the eclipse in total, about an 8 hour drive. Will be interested to see any photos they get.

@pridesabtch I'd be ticked at the hubby, too, if he was doing things that hindered his healing & recovery. Hugs!

    Goals for tomorrow, Monday, 4/8
    1. continue to log food. I've not been feeling well at all... but I am logging my food at least. :)
    2. concentrate on more water. I've given up soda.. a biggie for me... but I still need to get with drinking more water. :)
    3. watch the eclipse. :)
    4. skipping the gym... I need to wait until this cold is over, my lungs are cleared so I can breathe better, and don't want to get others sick. I hate being sick.. this is a week for me with zero energy. Only plus is that I've lost some weight.. but not the way to do it. :)
Feeling a little better today, but I still have a very deep cough, and a lot of congestion. But it was nice to get outside and watch the eclipse, and I did a little yard work. I can't do much before I have to stop and rest, but at least I got a little done.. some periennals divided and replanted, some weeding done.
I do have to watch my food though, as because I'm feeling better I'm more hungry!
    JFT, Tues
    1. log all food. Keep calories 1400-1600
    2. concentrate on water
    3. work in the yard a little more today
And thats about all I'm going to plan for tomorrow. I will take the day as it comes.

5 little kids is a lot to look after! Especially without all the modern things which make life easier. My mum didn't have a washing machine when I was a baby, she had to wash the nappies by hand and then put them through the mangle. I remember helping my grandmother put bed sheets through the mangle, the handle took some turning, and watch your fingers!

Yesterday was fun. I took a meeting in my car while Tim went to the infusion center. The eclipse occurred during this time period. It was cool to watch from my sun roof. I included some pictures for @Bex953172 . Afterwards we went home and chilled for a bit then decided to go play trivia. Trivia turned into the basketball game and more drinks than planned so we got a hotel room and lived it up a bit. The only down side was getting up at 5:15 this morning so I could make it home and clean up before the 7:00 am meeting. Oh well, we had fun.

Not much planned for today, had to take hubby to doc to get his incision evaluated. They removed the dressing and said he had to wait 5 more days before he could shower. They also gave him the ok to work from home. Now he just has to get medical services at work to allow it. That will relieve a huge burden if he can work. Not only will it keep him sane, but we won't have to worry that his pay will get cut after 8 weeks on short term disability.

Getting back on track today after a short road trip with my older two grandsons. After a great day in Philly, we drove out to southwestern Pennsylvania to meet up with my father-in-law for a dose of his wonderful nostalgia-inspired stories which rivalled those we heard at the living history museum in Somerset. It was such a nice way to wrap up the kids' Spring break.

I did a lot of walking, but ate far too many yummy but definitely less healthy things. I'm going to put off this week's weigh-in until my sodium level adjusts.

@cschmitz110515 I also used nappies/cloth diapers for my children. I think disposables first appeared just before my youngest was born, so he was half and half. Very glad I had a washing machine though! Very old fashioned, but it was lovely to see a full line of white nappies on the washing line.

Didn't log yesterday, didn't post goals, didn't even go to work yesterday. I think I'm just worn down and saddened by recent events. Chalking it up to a mental health day. I do feel a bit better today physically and emotionally.

Work has been busy today, and I had to leave for an hour so I could take hubby to the infusion center. It's turning into a long day. I think I have one more meeting for the day, and it's more of a Meet & Greet than anything else. One of the gubernatorial candidates from the state is coming by our site today. The other 3 candidates are also planning on coming this month or next. I don't know much about the one today, but a couple of them are so far right they scare me. Their ads are all about their hatred for the LBGTQ+ community and their love for guns and Trump. These are the ads they are using to persuade people to vote for them. Just baffles me that my state will likely choose one of the Trumpers. I mean I get that it is a conservative state, but damn some of these candidates are looney.

    JFT Thursday
    - Work by 7:45
    - Meetings
    - Tim to infusion center
    - Back to work
    - Mom's to sort bills
