How About We Don't Delete Newsfeeds
Replies

If it ain't broke leave it alone...I have been a member for awhile now ...Please do not get rid of the newsfeed... I enjoy seeing what my friends are doing and communicated with them .. I think this is a very bad idea ..Please reconsider9

SAVE THE NEWSFEED!! It's how most of us get inspiration and support!8

👋 Hi, popping in to say I'm seeing your tags and discussions and doing my best to read all of your feedback and pass it along.
It may take me some time to respond to questions, but just know that I am seeing them and trying to find or think of solutions for the things that I can control.14 -
MFP is saying that the newsfeed isn’t well used, I know that’s wrong. That is where I spend the majority of my time here and I know that’s true of my friends as well. The newsfeed is the one and only feature that makes MFP stand apart from the other like apps. With the newsfeed and friends, MFP stands miles above all the other apps. Take away the newsfeed and MFP is just another calorie tracking app in a sea of calorie tracking apps. I am already looking for a new place to go and to take my premium membership with me. 😢14

I whole hearted agree with all the above messages.
The newsfeed is the the reason I'm here. I've met many of you in real life even.
We are real people here with real friendships!
Six years now and a Paying member.
@Betty
Thank you!9 -
I mostly use MFP for the newfeed. I've made some really great people on here. The newsfeed is a safe place for me to share my progress without annoying my family and friends who Almont understand. The newsfeed keeps me updated on My Peeps. This is my main reason for keeping MFP.10

I was so disappointed to find the email from MFP announcing they're getting rid of the news feed! I love keeping up with my MFPeeps there! I would miss it so much if they go ahead. Please keep the news feed, MFP!7

@Betty - I bet this app will lose a lot of money because people will not renew their PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS!! Having the privacy and friendships in the NEWSFEED is an extremely unique and important part of MyFitnessPal. I for one will be one of those that will not renew premium if a GREAT solution is not found for keeping the newsfeed or its equivalent for us to keep our privacy and our friends!
Since you say you’re STAFF you surely must have some means of stressing the importance of keeping the newsfeed to the developers. PLEASE HELP US!! - thanks!!14 -
This is a horrible corporate failing. People have been on the MFP Newsfeed for many years and have developed very close attachments that have encouraged them along their health journey. I really despise the canned corporate excuses for canceling the Newsfeed. I wonder if their advertisers realize how much they fail to listen to their customers? It is typical of an uncaring corporate approach to business.13

Will you be changing the name of MyFitnessPal to MyFitness? Because, by removing the newsfeed, you are removing the Pals from the equation. And that, is what differentiated MFP from all the other apps. The newsfeed is the hearts and soul of MFP. By the way, will you be offering any refunds for unused portions of Premium memberships?18

12 years and 130# lost, gained 40 back, working on it all the time because I get motivation and feedback from my fri6in the news feed. Hard to believe that UA ran this site better. This *kitten* sucks9

Save the News Feed!!!!!! It’s the biggest part of what keeps me here every day .9

I've been here since 2016. I've used other calorie counting apps, and to be honest, they were all more accurate than MFP. But it was the news feed that kept me here. I've lost 72 pounds and maintained my goal weight for a year or more, ALL because of my friends cheering me on. I've already had friends leave for other apps because they couldn't log into the news feed (the dreaded strawberry!). So now you take it away completely? I don't think any of my 327 friends will be sticking around. All of my friends are active, and all use the news feed. No new feed? Yeah, no reason to stay. Bad decision from a lazy or poorly trained tech crew.10

I have been here since 2012, since the "good old forum days", through all the buyouts, and all the "improvements". Like so many others have already said, this has been my haven from the insanity of life both real and virtual. It has been my safe space, not because it was a fantastic calorie counting site (because that I haven't used in a decade) but because of the people on my newsfeed. It has been a place to share things with people who get it and get me (relating to health but also the real life challenges we all face). Knowing that you are taking away the one thing that has kept me coming back through all of the coding issues/changes, leaves me with nothing of value at this site. My friends have shared my sorrows, my celebrations, the struggles and the triumphs. Even through the chaos of life, I always made time to come to this site to see how my friends were doing. The newsfeed was my social news channel where I could connect with those I care about. I've logged in for 4294 days in a row. I would like to continue logging in, but see no value without the newsfeed. Please reconsider a rash and ill thought out decision.12

I am here for the newsfeed…support, humor, friendship, advice. Keep it or I’m gone unfortunately.13

Spaff looks like you got Betty's attention.4

save the news feed

Keep the news feed! What’s the business model for dropping the newsfeed? Convince me that new proposed path forward provides the same or improved functionality. Tell me that the news feed doesn’t fit MFP’s core values and the tell me how the new path forward differentiates you from all the other calorie logging apps. Convince me.12

Hey Fitfam!!
Sitting here thinking we aren't getting anywhere with MFP with our messages...yes they are looking at them and forwarding on to the appropriate people but maybe we have to show our displeasure with Francisco Partners (the owners of MFP) I'm going to send an email to all the CEO's...it might not achieve anything but maybe if lots of
us speak up they will listen. What have we got to lose???

It's still there.
Who said it was going away? Is there an official announcement somewhere?
Hello, many people are reporting that they cannot read current postings or even their own newsfeed and there has beem an official notification slyly given by MFP through their community newsfeed. Because MFP was too unprofessional to push every member an official message stating their intentions. I am sure you have seen the much quoted post by a representative of MFP about the impending June 2024 phase out of the newsfeed by now. If, here it is again.

This is what keeps us all going!
The accountability, the support, the inspiration, the motivation the encouragement.
It is all found on the news feed!!!!!
Without this news feed there is no connection with those friends who I personally have bonded with over the last 12 years of being here.
I do not want to loose to any of that because someone has made a bad business decision!
Please make the right decision and...

The reason the newsfeed isn't well used NOW is because they shifted away from the feed being the front page. Very disappointing to me. What's the point if friending people if you can't share your news?
The news feed isn't a feature it's a connection point. Keep it!11 -

Exactly! They created this problem. Ownership matters! 💁🏽♀️6 -
Over 4000 consecutive days on MyFitnessPal and I am so frustrated that the Pal part is nonexistent after June. Who is in charge of this app? What are they thinking? Someone actually got paid to make this decision. Absolutely awful!11
