Greetings friends~ I'm settled at home after a long vacation in June. This month's goal was just be more active.
Improvements made:
20 min. bike rides in the neighborhood each day
Walking on trails for 30 min. (up and down hills)
Lifting weights while watching TV
Yoga classes- once a week
Pilates- once a week
I thought I'd seen more weight loss this week, but I think it will come off after my body gets used to daily exercise and movement. I find when I don't overwhelm myself and keep it simple, "just move more" (my motto). Slow and steady wins the race!

07/16-188.8-(Trend Weight: 189.0)- A very small drop after a very good day. I got in extra steps when I lost my cat outside. I didn’t know she was in my attached garage and when I came home and opened the door she got out. She went into the woods and I followed her in difficult terrain but eventually lost her. She is a tortie so she was well camoflauged. She did eventually come back to the yard after about 90 minutes where she continued to run from me but I finally got her near her catio and managed to get her into it so I could lock her in. Maybe I shouldn’t have given her that extra special treat last night after the ordeal. She didn’t really deserve it but I was so happy she came back home even if she strung me along in the yard for awhile. And why does food always have to be a reward? Hmmm.
07/23-188.2-(Trend Weight: 188.8)- No sleep last night because I spent the whole night releasing water. However, I’m feeling a lot less bloated today. Tomorrow is my nuclear stress test early in the morning. Nervous but eager for information.

My husband and I are retired, however...we watch our Grandsons during the week. Collin is 18 months and is our Morning Duty. Ronan is in 2nd Grade and is our Afternoon Duty.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out. The boys can be exhausting...

@200Karen Dr. ordered the WRONG nuclear stress test due to my left branch bundle blockage. And they didn't figure it out until after the IV was put in. So I go back in August when the order is through and the insurance has pre-approved. They were able to do the EKG and also the ultrasound of the heart. Most problems found were old news except they've found some diastolic dysfunction which is when in a resting state. I guess it means your heart is not filling back up with blood properly to push out to the body. Not sure what the long-term answer is for that. I guess I'll know more when I see the cardiologist but so far, that is not scheduled until December. In the meantime, I'll just have to wait until 2nd week of August for another IV jab. Thanks for your thoughts. P.S. Cat is okay, but sneaky!3 -

07/30-189.8-(Trend Weight: 190.0)- I’ve gotten nowhere in July. Truly a wasted month, or more like a wasted opportunity. August will be better. I’ve got to get a handle on things. Final weigh in tomorrow for the total month accountability. I don’t expect miracles overnight but I’d like to see myself back on the right track.
07/31-188.4-(Trend Weight: 190.3)- I’ve started to turn it back around but am out of time for this month. I guess I’ll have to start August chasing my own tail. Eventually I’ll catch up to my starting weight and hopefully surpass it. Great job to everyone for showing up and working so hard on those changes. All good paths lead to success. There's a reason for the nearly 4 lb gain this past week. Last week, I had to replace the batteries in my scale, and even after recalibrating it, I weighed over 5 pounds heavier on Friday than I did on Thursday. Initially, I was blaming the scale. Then I noticed the other metrics (fat mass, lean mass, water, etc.) and I realized it had something to do with the day hike I took on Thursday. On Friday, my weight was up 5.2 lbs, but my lean mass was up 14 lbs (I wish!) and water was up 7 lbs. Clearly impossible, but it suggests I was retaining water to help in muscle tissue repair. It's taking a number of days to lose that water. Because I weigh daily but report a 7-day average weight, today's reported weight is higher than my actual weight.
The silver lining in this is: now's the perfect time to start a new round, where hopefully I can make better progress toward my goal.

I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired, however...we watch our Grandsons during the week. Collin is 18 months and is our Morning Duty. Ronan is in 2nd Grade and is our Afternoon Duty.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out. The boys can be exhausting...

Getting back on track after my holiday, but with another holiday next week. A long distance walk, 70 miles across 6 days on the beautiful UK North East coastline.
Staying in guest houses with breakfasts included, which I'm going to try and be moderate with (but not calorie counting).
And evening meals.
I'm hoping the daily amount of walking is enough to balance everything out and I can weigh in next week at the same weight.
