Started tracking again with MFP in January 2022.
My final goal weight is 145.
Highest weight as of 1/3/22: 230 lbs
Starting weight as of July 25 2024: 148.5
Aug 2: 147.8

My daughter and I are off to Seattle and Forks Washington on Wednesday for a week. I won't be weighing in next week. Hopefully all the walking/hiking she plans to have me doing will offset eating restaurant food for a week!

Getting back on track after my holiday, but with another holiday next week. A long distance walk, 70 miles across 6 days on the beautiful UK North East coastline.
Staying in guest houses with breakfasts included, which I'm going to try and be moderate with (but not calorie counting).
And evening meals.
I'm hoping the daily amount of walking is enough to balance everything out and I can weigh in next week at the same weight.
Oh my gosh this sounds amazing! Please share with us all about it? Or failing that be my buddy and tell me. Haha! This sounds like an incredible holiday!!! Enjoy!!

starting weight Aug 1: 143. I am 5'6", 44 years old. I got a Dexa body scan on Aug first and learned I am 37.4% fat. I'm scanning December 1 and I'm excited to see how much progress I can make. My ultimate goal is to feel strong, increase my strength and endurance and see if I can decrease my body fat percentage to be less than 30%. I don't care too much about the number on the scale. My goal is to walk 5 hours a week, do pilates and lift weights to build strength. I'm going to focus on high protein meals and portion control.7 -

@lauren_989 Thanks! I'm really excited to be close to goal but, once I reach it, I may decide to hold off on maintenance for a bit longer and try to lose a few more lbs.
In addition to tracking my calories daily I also exercise for 45-60 minutes 4-5 days per week , primarily cardio but also a bit of yoga and toning with light weights.
My advice is consistency and, most of all, patience. I log my calories every day regardless of what I eat and, rather than trying to stick with a strict daily calorie goal, I go by my net average calories for the week. I typically go over my daily goal 1-2 days per week but come in under goal several days so it averages out over the week and I never really feel deprived. I don't worry so much about macros but I do try to keep my saturated fat, sodium, and sugar intake low and my fiber intake high, which naturally forces me to focus on leaner proteins and healthier carbs.
I lost pretty quickly at first but once I got below a certain weight, my rate of loss slowed to a crawl. I stuck with it and recently, over the past 3 months or so, my rate of loss has increased again so I'm assuming my body must have finally adjusted to the lower weight.

I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired, however...we watch our Grandsons during the week. Collin is 18 months and is our Morning Duty. Ronan is in 2nd Grade and is our Afternoon Duty.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out. The boys can be exhausting...

I am female age 72. In 2016 I was at my heaviest. I lost 30 pounds. Today, 2024, I've gained back 15 of those pounds. Exercise has pretty much disappeared. I need to reverse this backwards trend NOW because I know my 80's will be here in the blink of an eye. I don't want to be using a walker by then. Thankfully I don't have any diabetes 2.

Better when I’m home, worse when I’m stuck in a car or a waiting room for hours, and eating at restaurants too. My trend weight more tells the story since there have been good days in-between. I am trying to take advantage of the days at home as best as I can. I could really use more exercise though and am finding it unusually tough since I’m so tired out. Hi all! I'm late, but would love some accountability buddies. I'm Leanne, 40 and I live in Europe.
I've lost (and maintained) a lot of weight about ten years ago, but gained a lot of weight after stopping breast feeding 2 years ago and finishing a specifically stressful project at work this year.
I would love to lose some weight to achieve my rock climbing goals - it isn't fun lugging all that weight upwards. And it feels like this is my last chance before perimenopause hits to get rid of some excess weight.
My starting weight on August 1st was 88kg, Highest weight was about 90kg, Goal weight is 75kg (still overweight, but my body feels great at that weight).
My goal weight for end of October is 83kg.

Hi everyone, many thanks to @RubyRed427 for this challenge. It has really helped me to focus on my food choices. I usually start well and give up, but now I feel accountable and that's helping.

Tracking and exercising consistently has helped. I tend to lose the most the first week, mostly water, and then plateau and give up. I’m hoping this challenge will keep me motivated to reach maintenance weight. I love reading everyone’s posts. It has helped. I don’t feel as alone in this journey. I’m 61 and retired.
