I only buy things with 1 to 5 ingredients. If I see sugar in those 5, I don’t get it! That alone has helped me lose weight.
Walked with ankle weights 1.5 pounds each and 2 pound hand weights doing arm exercises at the same time for 38 minutes. Good workout! I still have a 30 minute more walk when I do camper reservations. No weights that time!!
Dinner was a Wendy’s bacon/cheese baked potato. I didn’t care for that one but I like the sour cream and onion ones. I found these tuna snack lunches, I had one for supper. Breakfast today I tried quinoa with almond milk, 1/2 banana, 1T butter, 1/4c blueberries and 2 strawberries. Snack last night was a biscuit with butter and mango on top.
DH went to clinic yesterday and has a major sinus infection causing pressure on his ears and deafness. Doc gave him a steroid shot and heavy antibiotics. Then we went to Wendy’s, Sam’s for monthly stuff, and Walmart for his meds. Tiring day!

Stopping back in while I'm taking a break from doing stuff this morning. Nothing big, just stuff.
Feeling swirlingly grateful for my life and everything in it this morning. I often feel that way after I talk to my sis. Our growing up years were hard, and the ability to look at the life we each have now and remember is part of our joy and gratitude for the lives we have built.
As utterly different lives as they are, intersecting in only very tiny ways, we've both had a hand in our current lives being satisfying and wonderful, and each made that happen on our own terms. Siblings are the only ones that are around at the beginning and, if you're lucky, are around at the end, as well... truly a special relationship unlike any other.
Just wanted to share that little bit of gratitude with my favorite group. So pleased you're all here, and hope you're having a wonderful day, one filled with joy and peace, wherever you find it. Hope all our East Coasties are staying safe and dry from Hurricane Debby.

Good morning!
It’s treatment Tuesday for me. It’s just labs, check in with oncologist and then the treatment injected in my leg, so I’m not nervous…just kind of have to plan my day around it since it’s 2 hours out of my day. I’m hoping to see improvements in my labs. The further out from chemo I get, the more they normalize. I noticed liver function studies were creeping up again so I need to rein in the processed foods I’ve been eating and get in more movement.
I did get out for a walk with my dog yesterday! First time I’ve walked with her since last October when I got the news the cancer was back. It felt so nice! We only went a few blocks because it started raining (of course it did!! 😂), but it’s a start. Start small, start now.
Lisa - I love the quilt! Love the ship lap look on the border too! I’ve always wanted to make a bookcase quilt but they look so hard. Do you do the quilting yourself? Do you have a long arm? Very nice job on the top!
Barbie - I hope your neighbor is able to pick up Jake. I used to love taking road trips with my music blasting, but I’ve gotten so I don’t like highway driving anymore. My husband does the majority of the driving.

Today is: A great day for a RootBeer Float! We used to have an A&W here and I loved going there for their rootbeer floats. It was a great treat!

I did take a picture of the tuna supper last night and realized I added cucumbers and 1/2 an apple to it. It came with mayo and relish, I didn’t use the mayo, the relish was enough!

Tracie - Thank you! It WAS hard, especially since my spatial recognition has never been spiffy, and the last few years has been nearly nonexistent. I build and quilt on a regular sewing machine, no long-arm. I've done big traditional ones in the past on a standard machine, but am almost exclusively working with QAYG now. (For my non-crafty folks, that's "quilt-as-you-go" where a panel is created, assembled with batting and backing, and quilted on the machine, and then you bind the smaller panels into a finished quilt.) It's actually quite workable for a bookcase quilt, as the nature of the pattern lends itself to panels. I've never measured a quilt quite this much before, though! Had to in order to keep the panels very nearly the same size and at least vaguely aligned with all the others...
I'm sorry, but my leaky sieve of a brain didn't hold onto the information about your cancer, or its return. It sounds like you're feeling better again with the dog walking ramping up. Hope so! Let us know how you're doing... more than one of the group has been through similar journeys.
Trying to fend off my nap attack until Corey's lunchtime call... my eyelids they are a-droopin'... One somnolent Tuesday afternoon in sight.

Lisa, the quilt is lovely - a real conversation piece. I love it.
We’re getting wind today from Debby, so I decided to take advantage of the breeze and work in my flower bed deer food garden. I got six bags of mulch. I’m going to try once more with my latest coleus cuttings. One of my first attempts is coming back quite nicely after being eaten down to the ground. Even my hosta is sprouting back out.

Lisa - I am currently working on a disappearing 9-patch lap quilt for one of my granddaughters. I have the top done but cannot seem to get myself to sandwich and quilt it... I do straight line quilting on my regular sewing machine, but you can definitely tell I'm a beginner! LOL Although I refer to it as straight line quilting, there is nothing straight about it by the time I'm done! I love doing the piecing and sewing the tops, but I just dread the sandwiching piece. One of the things about this particular quilt top too is the colors are not "me"... I don't gravitate toward the black, white and red...so I'm just not drawn to work on it. But they're her dorm room colors, so that's what matters. I just need to suck it up and get it quilted! I think yours is beautiful. I really like it. It's on my bucket list someday...
About the cancer...I had stage 3 breast cancer in my right breast in 2011...had bilateral mastectomies, chemotherapy and radiation, then reconstruction. All was well for over 12 years until I had some swelling in my right armpit last October. Went in to see if I had fluid build-up since I have lymphedema in that arm, and long story short MRI showed a tumor on my chest wall. PET scan was done then and found another spot on my L4 disk. So, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 (metastatic) breast cancer. Last time it was being fed by estrogen. This time it was hormone negative but HER2 positive, so it was feeding off a different thing. I had a port placed again and started chemotherapy in November and finished in March. I now go for routine (every 3 weeks) immunobiology injections which target the protein that the cancer was feeding on. I do and will continue to have CT scans of my chest, abdomen and pelvis every 3 months going forward, and an MRI of my brain every 6 months. I also get a 3-month dose of Zometa which is for bone strength, because the injections I get routinely tend to suck the calcium from my body. Sorry if TMI. Anyway, it's been a long 10 months, trying to regain my health and strength. Chemo was definitely easier to tolerate in 2011 when i was 12 years younger! It really beat me up this time around. The GOOD news is that after only 5 chemo treatments, all evidence of disease disappeared on scans. My oncologist said it is 96% to completely gone at that point, and now the goal is to keep it in remission as long as possible. I'm shooting for at last 20 more years!
I hope that wasn't too much information. Don't mean to overload or dump on anyone. It's just what I've been dealing with and am trying to recoup from! 
I'd better get busy now. I've been buying produce to cut up for salad bar fixin's in the fridge and then don't actually do it because my fingertips are sore (neuropathy from chemo). So, yep...I just threw out another batch of wilted veggies yesterday. I have to stop procrastinating on this. I hate wasting food!

Beth - That’s good news for your Mom for the bed. My mom’s nursing home starts letting people know to be prepared when they are 3rd on the list.
I need to get rid of a bunch of the processed food.
We have a new produce store that opened that is cheaper than the grocery stores. I think I’m going to start using it more frequently.
I’ve also started thinking of some things I can do to keep myself from wanting to buy supper and lunches when I start working again. I think what was doing me in last time was the stress of the situation, I feel much more in control these days.

I still love a long drive. I crank the tunes and go for it. It’s one of my favourite things to do. I especially love driving to Kaitlyn’s as the scenery reminds me of home.
Heather - I hope you enjoyed the BBQ and it used up a bit of your excess energy.
Allie - When does Tracy go for her c-section?
Can Dan help you with those water jugs? They are tremendously heavy.

I worked on my table a bit today, I have 4 more leaves to scrub with mineral spirits but will be able to start sanding the other pieces tomorrow if the rain holds off.
I have a bit of a funny little story, I think I have mentioned that this table was my great grandmother’s and I assume mostly handmade since on the underside some boards have markings of first frost, first crop, etc. it has drop leaf ends and 5 leaves that can go in the centre. We have had a terrible time getting the leaves to fit in when we needed them. Well… as I was cleaning today I noticed 3 little marks on the side of one leaf, I thought they looked intentional but shrugged it off. Then I start cleaning another one and I notice that it has IV. So I start looking at all of them and sure enough they are numbered so you know which side goes to which! I’m going to paint the scratches I think so they are more noticeable.
I think the Irish Spring kept the mouse at bay yesterday, I didn’t see any droppings in the usual spots. I’m still buying the sonic plugs tomorrow.

Yep my daughter in law went online and activated an app where nanny and babysitters are listed. Being that the site is checked out, and people listed have gone thru a screening process, they found one in a couple days. They met with her and were satisfied. She has worked with a child with autism so to me that showed a good sense of patience. They have had her a week and everything seems to be going well. I am happy for them!
I video chatted with son and Athena, last night. Athena and I had picked out a bunch of baby clothes for her 12" doll. She recd them this last Saturday and got like 9 different outfits with easy velcro. She had given me one of her stuffed toys so I could have it on the train. She asked to see it last night, then admitted she missed it. Understandable, so I asked her, her dad and mom what kind of cookies they liked. So I will send back her missed panda, along with chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal with dark chocolate and oatmeal with milk chocolate.

I really enjoyed getting out for the bbq. Smartened up, wore my sea glass earrings and my new scarf.
Edie was a bit shy when we got there, as she hasn't seen me for ages, but she soon warmed up. She is coming over on Friday afternoon.
The girls showed us a short excerpt from their West End course. In this photo, Edie stopped dancing when she saw me taking a photo. They had a really great time, over 6 days.
The bbq was great, as always. Chicken from the best butcher, ditto pork, gf sausages, , Greek salad, and barbecued broccoli. AF beer.
Everyone but me played table tennis
and we chatted on their new patio furniture. The table is rise and fall, so can be a coffee table too. New skylight looks great.
Then we had choc ice lollies and my son took us home.
Now to watch Poirot.
Max is coming over tomorrow to spend time with John. They will go out, I expect.

Jake is being released from the hospital about 2:30. My Sunday walking friend will drive over and pick him up. I go to the dermatologist at one and my dog loving neighbor will watch the dogs while I'm gone. One day at a time.Tracie in WI so glad you could walk your dog again. I’ve lost 14lb and am feeling excited about the new me.
I have noticed online there are a number of women who have partners who are not supportive . 🥲
They have to keep this diet a secret from them as they will try to control the partner.
I’m enjoying playing around with the app to work out my macros.
I’m not diabetic, and have got a prescription privately which I’ve had to pay for -ouch. You have to be in calorie deficit to lose weight, and use the drug as a space to change your eating habits.
I am 63 years old and live in England.
