Tracey- I am looking forward to having the room back but it hasn't been too bad lately- I took mom's bed beings she has been sleeping in her recliner-says she sleeps better in there.
Have fun scrapbooking. I haven't done any in years. Did really enjoy it when I did- so many cute pictures of son when he was little.
Had a good day exercise wise. Walked MIL's dog longer than planned. Dh told me as we were pulling up to her house that she had PT coming out in a half hour. They prefer not to have the dog there during pt because he gets in the way, so, walked the long way, got back to the house and he had just gotten there so we walked some more. It was getting pretty warm so we went back and sat on the steps until they were done. Irritated that dh waited to say something until we got there(I may have just stayed home and not gone over if I had known but dog needs to get out and walk)- Walked the wetlands- again- beautiful but the last 15 min of that hour were rough. It was hot, very little breeze, none is some spots, no shade, and I don't take water with me while I walk. I had some in the car-no bathrooms so don't want to have to find a bush.
Aqua zumba plus laps before and after-
Just hit 20,000 steps for the day. Haven't done that in quite a while.
Going to head for bed a bit early- up at 5:30, out the door by 6 to meet mom at the church to help with the food program. Even with the hour and a half drive, I still get an extra hour and a half sleep
She gets up at 4 to be there extra early to set up her spot(she gives out all the desserts)
Have a wonderful weekend ladies.
I will check back in when I get back home on Monday.

Love everyone’s wedding pics and stories, here’s mine from Oct 3, 1987, we were 37.Mom’s friend did the flowers, another friend from church played the organ, a couple who were present at my (infant) baptism doled out the champagne. It was held in the church whose pastor facilitated my adoption, officiated by the current pastor and the pastor who confirmed me, catered by the current intern. Joe’s best friend stood up for him, as did mine. My virtual baby brother pushed Papa’s wheelchair. Joe’s mother flew out but Joe did not invite his father, they had fallen out for awhile. At the receiving line I was able to think of everyone’s name but one, the current pastor’s wife :}Still have the dress, wine stain and all.

Started exercising a bit more!!
I'm also continuing to catch up from the August whirlwind of life. Gotta get some cycling event advertising out soon.
For example ... I've finally caught up on my exercise log here. I discovered I had not logged consistently since sometime in June. But it is all up to date now.

Barbara - It's OK to miss a couple of days. Cas says so! Also 5 minutes, done craptastically. We can do this. I've already thrown three pieces of trash away today.
Yesterday evening, I was making our delicious pizza, when I dropped the jar of nduja on my granite countertop, and smashed it. Glass all over the kitchen! Plus I cut my ring finger, which, because I have only just finished my blood thinners after the op, proceeded to bleed copiously. Wrapped my finger in kitchen towel! It eventually stopped.
Pizza was great.
Nduja is an Italian spicy paste, made from pork fat. Hot! Comes in jars, obviously.
Washed my very old, 20 years?, felt wool hat yesterday. I only wear it a couple of times a year, so I've never washed it. Did it carefully in cold water. Boy, was it dirty! It's in this year's colours, and I always get compliments, so I wanted to revive it. Will work with my new trenchcoat. I bought it in London from a homemade craft person.
Today is put the bathroom back together day. I have my cleaning tools at the ready! I love it bare though. Must wash the bathmat and throw away the one I bought to cover up the paint stains on the carpet.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx6 -
I've found I can only do the cleaning and reorganising in very small stages. My back starts to ache, and everything hurts!
Done quite a bit of cleaning, and John has put my tall cabinet back.
I've thrown out the rug, and a non-slip shower mat that I bought when my hips were really bad. It was never very convenient and could easily get germy, so I've let it go. I'm thinking about putting the small cabinet out onto the pavement. I like it, but it desperately needs repainting, and I just can't see myself putting in the time and energy. Plus the door sticks horribly. I saw one on Amazon, but, I've just measured it, and it is a cm too wide for the space, so will have to look again.
Progress, not perfection.

Morning, kiddos...
So... I flicked past the Clutterbug and listened to a couple of minutes about getting rid of the "bullies" in your closet, the ones that make you feel like c.r.a.p. every time you wear them, and it chimed with me. So I went in and picked out five shirts I never wear and they're out in the car to go to Goodwill the next time I'm in town. They bind up my bingo wings, the happy flaps that keep waving at people when I'm done, and make me uncomfortable. Not anymore... 👀🤔😂
Got a number of the Halloween trick or treat bags finished yesterday, so I can move on to making pumpkins... I'm going to try to get a dozen or so of all sizes and colors made, and get them all down to the permanent Farmer's Market guy and see if I can put together a table for sale. Will try on Monday, but the owner isn't there on a particular schedule, so I'll just have to try until I can find him, I guess.
Got other things zooming around my brain, which isn't always comfortable, but definitely keeps my mind ticking along happily. If they coalesce, I'll say something. Not trying to be mysterious, just not sure which direction I'm going to jump yet.
Barbara AHMOD - So pleased that Joe was kind when you needed it. Thank you for the wedding pics, you do look so happy. And no, my first husband's name was (and still is, I guess) Ricky. And yes, it was with the "y", his parents weren't fond of "Richard," I guess.
Barbie - Sorry life is in an uproar! Hope it settles soon.
Okie, Flea, Lanette, Barbie and anyone I've missed - Thank you all so much for the wedding pics! I learn more about who you are by knowing who you were, and they are all wonderful.
Wedding descriptions:My first marriage was in 1980, I was just barely 20, and as I said, it was in the multi-denominational chapel on base at RAFB Lakenheath in the UK.
My second and final marriage (there will be no more) was in the community hall in Fort Stockton, Texas. He and I both worked for the largest employer in town, and I wrote a weekly opinion column for the newspaper, so we knew a lot more people than we know here.
My matron of honor was my best friend, who drove down from Montana, and my sister and soon-to-be daughter were my bridesmaids. Corey's sisters and brother and his dad flew down from Alaska and his dad walked me down the aisle to Satchmo singing "What a Wonderful World," Corey's choice of song. I actually made my own wedding cake, which I'll never do again, thank you very much.
The place was packed to the rafters. The last event I intend to ever plan or participate in again, though I didn't know that at the time! Not sure I could top that one.
Welp, time to get a few things done. Time for another cup of tea, as well... Pleased with myself that, even as busy sewing as I was yesterday, I fit 11 minutes in on the elliptical.
Hope it's a good day, and a good weekend for all,
Love,

Just bought a cabinet! Hooray! Coming on Monday. But I'll have to put it together. Reviews say it's easy.
It has one adjustable shelf.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -
I keep forgetting to say - it's 60 degrees this morning! (15c!) I have every window in the house open, Corey's awake and sitting in bed drinking coffee and reading the internet, his favorite place to be on weekend mornings. Egg's curled up beside him, taking up my side of the bed - it's the only time she gets to sleep in the bedroom, so it's HER favorite place to be on weekend mornings... and I'm in my craft room, and being coffee waitress about every half hour or 45 minutes. My favorite place and my favorite service to be able to give. My fingers and toes are cold, and I don't even care, because there is fresh air moving through my house again, and no air conditioners are on...
Heaven!
Later,
Love,

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Kylia Yay for a beautiful vacation! You deserve it, you work so hard!
Rita hugs about your mom and little Brownie. Hope they are both comfortable.
Barbie your serenity will be extra precious after this turmoil. Hugs and calming thoughts to you!
Pip that looks great! I miss sunbathing. This house is for people who prefer shade.
Debbie wow 20,000 steps! I'm down at 2,000.
Barbara hope your jaw heals quickly.
Heather lovely cabinet! Hope your finger heals quickly.
Allie a smile for you!
Well I found a website that supports my worldview and that makes me happy. I've been looking for quiet but constructive things to do while I'm monitoring my father. Last night we were watching a TV show about money, and selling more fattening food to make more money. I thought I was watching it to support him, but he walked away. Oh well. A waste of time, except that I found the website.
We are going walking in the forest today. I'm not looking forward to it, as last time I was stiff and tired afterwards. And I need to resist the follow up pumpkin spice latte and all its calories. Maybe some tea instead.
Have a great day my friends! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Barbie - I feel your pain. Way too much going on for you during the next several days! At least the weather should be cooler. I don't recall our marriage vows saying anything about having our DH's be driving instructors. Maybe that "obey" part which I disregard, lol. I once offered to pull over on I-5 and let him walk if he felt that would be safer. Quiet trip! He was going for a doctor visit and would have driven himself except he was on painkillers for his broken back. I neglected to drug him up with a valium prior to heading out.
Debbie - have a good time with your mom this weekend! Working at the food bank with her sounds like fun. How's it going with that fella living in her garage?
Barbara - glad you are back from Grant's Pass and surgery is done. Sounds like Joe found the perfect food to take that Tramadol. Hope the discomfort doesn't last long. I thought I was one of the taller and older first time brides at 25, but you got me beat in the age category.
Lisa - I know you're having fun making items for the Farmer's Market. I think you have some winners there. Glad to hear you are having a cool morning, nothing like that fresh air clearing out the stuffiness in a house.
Heather - cute cabinet, I bet it will be perfect. Sorry about the broken glass jar - hope you heal quickly.
Tracey - have a great time at the scrapbooking event!
Annie - glad you found a website you enjoy. And have a good time walking in the forest - hope you aren't too sore afterward. Your dad seems quite physically fit for his age, walking as much as he does.
OK ladies, make it a fabulous weekend!

Lanette, LOL....I never thought of valium as a solution to the driving instructor problem with Jake. We just consider the whole thing as an opportunity for spiritual growth. I am learning to not react and keep my mouth shut.
Annie, It helps me to read and listen to uplifting and useful messages. Glad you found a website that meets your needs.
Barbara, glad Joe was there for support with the oral surgery. Tramadol was a lifesaver for me after my spine surgery.
Son and girlfriend arrived in town late last night. He just called to say they're safe and awake. Don't know what the plan is for today, but I just said that I'd roll with whatever they decided. My mantra for today is "this is not about me".
Barbie in NW WA8 -
Barbie ~ I like your mantra "this is not about me". Since I really don't like family dinner out occasions, I have to keep that in mind.
Lannette ~ What did your hubby say when you offered to let him out of the car? I hate to have to drive DH and I anywhere. We cannot even get out of the driveway without him complaining.
I have spent a good 1/2 hr going through stuff in my bathroom that has piled up and needs to be done away with...old makeup, hair products, etc. If I do a little at the time, I will finally get some of the mess that has accumulated cleared out. I have stuff that I purchased like air cleaners, irons, and other like things that I never use and want to get rid of but hate throwing out/donating things that I spent money on just in case I MIGHT need them.
Carol in GA3 -
Ginny ~ The audiologist talked me into buying hearing aids Starkey Genesis AI 16 mRIC. They are expensive. I noticed you can get this brand at some of the buy it online stores for about 1/2 the price but guess having a trained professional who can adjust them as needed will be worth the extra money. She had me try on a pair and I could definitely hear better.

Barbie - 'This is not about me', is a great comforter. I also like your one which goes something like, 'I can do this for a short time, because I don't have to do it forever'. I often say that to myself when it involves unwanted noise in a restaurant or train etc.
Rita - So sorry to hear about your mum. So hard to be so far away. Also commiserations on Brownie.
I've bought myself some jute baskets to go in the taller cupboard that John moved back. Two of the deep shelves are open, and I'm fed up with looking at stuff. I measured carefully before buying.
Carol - Bravo for tackling your clutter! I think you will find you are not alone in the conundrum of 'I spent good money on this'. So many of us share it. It's known as 'sunk cost'. The money is gone, it's not coming back, and you are only hurting yourself and your house by letting it take up valuable real estate.
In recent years, by dint of watching Clutterbug, Minimall Mom etc, I have got much better at recognising the fallacy. But it is still hard.

Wedding Dress ... still have mine hanging in the hallway closet ... yellowed. Our photographer took industrial photos for a living and failed as a wedding photographer. Minister took the photos. 1984. My dress ripped after the ceremony climbing a set of stairs and my husband's pants were too long ... but we've been side-by-side through a lot of life.

Regarding DH's driving instruction and me offering to drop him off along the freeway, he started crying. He was feeling such guilt and anger that he'd fallen off the shop roof and broke his back, that he was putting me out and disrupted our lives because of his mishap. After that, he decided to look on the bright side when I drove him around. He said he could now notice things that he hadn't been able to before when he was driving. Now that was some spiritual growth!
I was glad my offer of "walk" triggered him to let it out. When we did make it to the neurologist's office in Olympia, he apologized to her for how he acted when he was in the hospital. F bombs, he didn't want to do anything but get home - didn't want to talk to her or the occupational therapist (I told the nurse to give him a valium so I could get him home, he was so agitated. I think he had a slight concussion too which might have contributed - he had a goose egg on his head!)
The neurologist just chuckled and said him being feisty was a good sign! She said the ones who "give up" sometimes have the hardest time recovering. He had a hairline fracture but still had to wear the clamshell brace for a few months.
Prior to that, we both were more comfortable driving to places and events in separate vehicles. So him having to depend on riding with me really threw him for a loop.
Cat stuff - Looks like our old cat, 17, has finally exhausted her 9th life. She didn't zoom out of the shop this morning when I opened the door to feed her. Couldn't find her, so I went into the main part of the shop and finally spotted her hidden away behind some boxes. I think she's looking for a final resting place. She hadn't eaten last night or used her litter box. She's in pain and can barely walk, I think she's in kidney failure. There's a chance the vet is open today (every other Saturday, I'm not sure which one).
So I'll keep her as comfortable as I can. Right now she was able to drag herself into the front yard. She's safe, and it's cool there. Her appetite had been waning the past couple days, I thought it might have been the hot weather.
Of course, these things always seem to happen on Friday nights/Saturday mornings.

Another note on driving with husband as a passenger. He acts like I'm a 14 year old with a learner's permit. He reaches over to press the button to shut the garage door, then leans forward to look both ways out the window to check for anything in the way thus getting in the way of my line of sight to look out his window. He says it's because he wants me to be safe. I'm learning to be quiet and not react.
Beth, I love your dress.
The corollary to "it's not about me" is to remember that no decision during the day will be for my convenience or enjoyment. If I don't expect it, then I can't be disappointed.
I can do something for 12 hours that would appall me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
Barbie in NW WA8 -
Carol-congrats! I am glad you found something that helps. I looked them up and it said they can do fitness tracking and have fall protection? That is wild! It looks like we both have ended up with good products.
Lanette-I wish I had thought of threatening my husband with a drop off! Sorry to hear about your cat-hope she is not in too much pain and she passes peacefully. 17 is long life!
Having peaceful Saturday. Friday at work was frustrating on many levels. However, I was able to get to bottom of something we were being accused of -and got proof it was not us. Someone from another office sent very accusatory message without checking facts. I admit I took satisfaction in letting him know and his bosses that he needs to check his attitude and approach.
Going to go throw a load of laundry in and get bills paid. Had nice walk outside in the cool temperature-had to wear a jacket.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio6 -
OKIE ~ You look beautiful in your wedding gown and what lovely flowers.
Rita ~ So sorry about Brownie. Hope your mom gets better. How old is she?
Missing Rosemarie! Don't know when she last checked in.
Carol in GA
Mom is 88. Turned out the black stools were from iron supplements she was on. She also had a gas bubble in her urinary tract caused by an untreated UTI. The kept her overnight and on antibiotics. Not sure how long she will be in the hospital. Brownie started acting more normal yesterday afternoon and seems better today, but the telltale cough is getting worse.
Thank you for your concern.

Eldest sailor comes soon and I am so excited to see him! Its been 5 months or so since he was last home. I am fixing all his favorite foods. Sadly the poor kid eats more then his share of fast food, so his digestive track gets quite a workout with home cooked meals. I will try to pace them! He wants me to fix rice rice, so I will be fixing a huge batch of that. Lee loves buying the Chinese barbecued pork and he has a portion for his lunch, sniffing and crying from eating it with the really hot mustard, then cuts the rest up and I mix it with the rice, bacon, egg and Japanese tonkatsu sauce. Of course we have to take our pilgrimage to the ramen restaurant down in Langley💖. He has requested Lee's pinto bean soup with hamhocks. (that will really clean the kid out)! I might even make fluffy tapioca pudding. Lee hasn't had that in years due to its really high sugar. I have been talking to him about learning to not just buy the bland because there's no sugar, but instead buy the kinds he enjoys and limiting the portions. Like with cereal. He was going bonkers eating his way thru cereals that were cardboard, but he had bought them. He only has cereal a couple times a week so I said just buy the cereal you love, and on those days limit your sugar in other places. I mean its like with diet food. Its easy to get diet brain over the kinds of food that's out there. Then where's the joy? Diet foods kind of zap the joy, our passion for eating gone.
Yesterday I got my toesies done. Did the deluxe option, so she dipped each foot in paraffin wax, then massaged my lower legs. Delightful.💖😁. I used the massage chair to torture my back and neck. I'm a wee bit sore this morning from that! Those ball thingies in the chair are brutal!
Grandsons 1st birthday was a success, I will post photos in a bit.💖.

Afternoon all,
He knows ,but we shall see how he does once the little one comes home..
Got alot of sleep the last few days and did some laundry and will do another load.
Ive sorta been intermittent fasting and im down 20 lbs..yipee5 -
Lanette ~ So sorry about your kitty. When our 15 yr old Siamese was dying, she hid under the bed. She had tried desperately to rub my leg when I got home from work that day and I was too impatient to pay her the love she needed. I have felt so sorry about that.
Your poor husband must have been in tremendous pain and it can be understandable that he was a big grouch. I think that's a man's need to be in total control. Glad you both resolved that and that he finally enjoyed riding with you.
Beth ~ You were a lovely bride and you looked so young.
Heather ~ I just wish my husband would let me hire someone to clean the junk out of our basement. Half the stuff down there needs to just be thrown away. But, I am enjoying trying to get rid of some of my clutter on the main floor. It will take a while.
Allie ~ Does Carmine know about the new sister? I sure hope SMiles will love her and think he will because I'm sure he has been around a lot of babies at his sitters.

Hugs! Wait sorta intermittent fasting? Ok either you are, or you're doing a low calorie diet. As long as you fast for 12/12, or 16/8, or 18/6 or 20/4 which for each of those the first number is how long you fast/ the next number is how long you eating window is, its all good. Read the IF Bible author Gin Stephens "Delay, Don't Deny". Doing a clean fast is key friend.💖👍🏼
Great job doing 20!
