Welcome to a new month. Some people say that September is the new January because it is the beginning of a new school year in so many places. Certainly the new month is a great time to recommit to all the goals and resolutions and plans you've been making all along.
I have enjoyed making my new plans each month with your support. Support and encouragement from others is one of the tickets to success.
Be sure to bookmark this thread so you can find it again.
We like to sign our posts with a name or a nickname and a specific or general location to make it easier to know each other.
I'm looking forward to the journey with you this month.

Worked then went to a nursery. I was told they could help me with plants. Got 4 plants, got 2 of them planted no problem. Vince was at the fair running trains and a neighbor of mine helped me get the one plant out of the ground and a new one planted. Then went to Lowe’s Hardware where I got another plant that I’ll probable plant tomorrow while Vince is at the fair. Boy, was I sweating! Came in and took a short nap
Of course, I work Monday but I’ll probably go in the pool if the weather is decent. The weather forecast so far says rain. Then again, we were supposed to have showers today and there were none so I’ll believe it when it’s on the ground
Rita – great job on Harry Potter and Dobie. I could never do something like that
I can’t wait to see the podiatrist about my foot. My knee is acting a bit wonky lately and I’m sure it’s because I’m walking weird trying to put as little pressure on the whatever-it-is. Boy, does it burn sometimes!
I did go to a grammar school reunion, but if they were to have one for high school, I wouldn’t go. They probably won’t since the school isn’t there any longer. A few of the people who still live in that area get together occasionally, but I’m not about to fly up there just to go to a reunion that I really couldn’t care about.
When we were coming home from Jess', a friend called us. He used to be on the Newcomer bowling league but he (like us) is no longer a member. He asked if we still bowl in the senior league and it looks like he'll either join or be a sub.
Rita - I THINK it was you who mentioned cottage cheese and applesauce (my apologies to the person if it wasn't Rita). I never thought of that so I'll give it a try tonight. I just may have that for breakfast!
Nice to see everyone in September!

Heather and Lisa - I agree, if I am only being kept alive without any quality of life I want to be let go. I need to get this into a directive that I am going to ask Brodey to be in charge of.
Margaret - Drew B certainly was lucky to find you.
You have done so well with your delve into getting healthy.
My Dad chose to remain in the hospital, he didn’t want any of us helping with personal care and their house was not safe or equipped for him to use the washroom on his own. The walker would not fit through the doorway.
They had a palliative unit for the first 2 weeks and then moved to a palliative room. The room had a semi private family room, sofas, microwave, coffee, tea, for us. There were only two rooms, so only two families were ever using it at the same time. A girl I went to school with was a nurse and she supplied us with toast from the ICU one night.
He was the 3rd brother that year using those rooms. He looked a lot like his older brother at the end and some of the nurses had a hard time with that.
Barbie - I hope Jake’s appointments level off soon.
Thank you for another new month!
Allie - I hope you had fun at your reunion.
Lisa - I can’t wait to see what you make with all of the material!
I went to a neighbouring town today, I splurged a bit and spent some money. I bought 3 shirts, a pair of pants, a set of curtains and a few odds and ends to decorate my office with.
I came home and decorated for Fall. I just love the colours. I even saw a sign today I may replicate it said, “ May favourite colour is Autumn”. Of course, I just changed it to the Canadian spelling.
I have been keeping an eye on FB tonight, I have friends and a daughter at the Pink concert, I would have enjoyed seeing Sheryl Crow who was opening for her.
Michele - I hope you find relief for your foot soon. Mine has been doing a fair amount better, but is hurting tonight because I didn’t take enough breaks today. I need to remind myself better.
I am going to Kaitlyn’s tomorrow. I. So excited, I haven’t been to her house since April and she has done some rearranging and they have worked hard on their backyard this summer.
Bonus is I’m going to see Jonah get his haircut!

August was a very busy month.
- Train trip across Australia, followed by
- Model train show. My husband likes the trains and I like the scenery.
- Caught a common cold which flattened me for a week.
- Finished moving out of our previous place including overseeing and doing some of the cleaning.
- Made some progress on unpacking.
- Worked as fast as I could on my coding project at work. Changes are coming!
In July I climbed 400 flights of stairs. In August the number is much lower. In fact ... not much exercise at all.

Tracey - That palliative room sounds pretty good. My mother was about to be moved to one, but she died just before. It was a very peaceful death. My brother and I were with her.
You sound happy and optimistic about your life. Well done on the clothes and decorating.
Decorating for autumn, (fall), isn't really a thing here, but I always change over my fake flowers with the season. That's why I bought the dahlias, which I'm really happy with. Nothing worse than tulips in September! Some people put up a few Halloween things, but that's more outside. My next door neighbour had a fantastic display last year.
We have Guy Fawkes, or Bonfire Night, on November 5th. Of course, the fireworks go off either side of the date! When I was a child, some children made 'Guys' and asked for money in the street with them. "Penny for the Guy". I thought that looked like a great ruse, but my mother wouldn't let me. She said it was 'begging'. I thought that was most unfair!
Thank you so much Barbie for another month. I like September, and the energy of the 'new year'!
Edie will be a 'big girl' at her primary school. She will be taking exams for the same school as Max in November.

John had a really lovely time on Friday at the cricket with his friend. He enjoyed being one-to-one with him. At the Hampshire cricket, there is usually the friend's brother, and sometimes a cousin, which is OK, but he likes to chat a bit more personally. I sooooo much prefer intimate chat, and don't really like groups.
He came home very happy. Next year he thinks he won't join the Hampshire club, but will visit a couple of times. He may join Sussex, and his friend plans to come over, as and when, to watch with him. The Sussex cricket ground is very unusual, in that it is in the middle of Hove, in sight of the sea, and very near Fatto a Mano! I expect to have a meal after the match sometimes with him.
I am so happy that John has a real friend. So many men don't at his age. Nearly all his other friends have died, and he didn't see them regularly.
So, I am seeing my old friend today. I don't know what we will make of each other, our lives have diverged so much. But I think that is mainly outward trappings, and we are both on the same path.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Kim glad you have a hope of resolution.
Barbie thanks for the thread and hope Jake is feeling well.
I'm not one for school reunions. I didn't really have friends in elementary or high school. Junior year I had a boyfriend but we had a bad breakup. Then senior year I was an exchange student.
College was better for me. I'm still in touch with two guys. The two women I knew seemed to go a bit crazy and bitter. There's another woman who was out in Arizona that I would like to see, but I doubt she would come this far. I might consider my fortieth college reunion which is coming up. But they don't have my address. I don't want to deal with them asking for donations.
I found another lump on poor little Teddy this morning. He is getting old, too.
Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Morning my chickens...
Woke up early, but not stupid early, it was nearly 4 a.m. I'll take what I can get!
My friend's dad is home, and she's there with him. He's in an awful lot of pain, but she didn't say much about his mental state. Just short texts from her at the moment, though - she has a hard time talking when she's around other people, and right now she's around others 24-7.
Heather - It will be nice for John to be able to get to the cricket ground so easily. Reminds me of an old line from a song - "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with!" And with Fatto Mano right there, well... match made in heaven! (Bad pun, not sorry!) 😹
Tracey - It's all your fault! Once I found a couple of ways of thinking about them, I finished my first "quillow" this morning. Had making them in mind for a number of the pieces I picked up yesterday.
Back to creating a simpler design for reversible fabric bags. Love listening to my brain whir again. 🧠🤔💨
Later, babies...
Love,
