I found a really lovely dress from French brand Busnel. It was soooo nice I just had to buy it even tho it is in size EU38M / US6. It was too small when i bought it.
Yesterday I tried it and i could get it on me. It did not fit well, it did not look very good BUT IT GOT ON!!
I'm sooo motivated to get that dress to fit me well!
(Mine is black)

@KarinSanden That is indeed a lovely dress! I bet you’re going to look amazing in it. I also bought a too-small dress to inspire me (mine is cream colored though). I can’t wait 😍7

I hope it will keep me motivated! Sometimes I start of like a rocket and then after a month or two I start finding excuses to sit and to quit. And then this dress too will end up in the wardrobe. I have so many clothes, but I hope to get inte to smaller ones and to recycle larger sizes along the way!3 -
@KarinSanden I have lots of goals to inspire me. I keep a list of things I want to do, and when I reach one of the goals I move it to the DONE ✅ list and put the date next to it. This way I can look back on my list of things I’ve already accomplished, AND the things I can still look forward to. It’s been very motivating for me over the past year. We do need more goals than just “wanting to fit into smaller clothes.”9

I’ve noticed a drop on my blood pressure and I am using less over the counter meds for heartburn12

Since I started logging and focusing on a clean eating, plant forward menu with limited fats and meats, I noticed my digestion is consistently sooo much better! I’ve had some minor IBS issues for years and had my sludgy gall bladder removed a few years back, hoping that would help, but no. I think this is the answer!

A longtime friend told me today that his wife didn't recognize me last time she saw me (from a distance). She didn't believe him initially when he told her that was me, and then commented that I look like a completely different person.7

That is a great idea. Please (if you are ok with it) share some of your goals as inspiration? It sounds like a great thing to do!! I just keep staring at the scale.3 -

That is really a great comment, then you know you have gone through a huge change!!
I wonder if your phone recognizes you?6 -
@KarinSanden Check out the mini goals thread for inspiration! I don’t have time to write much right now, but I’ve been posting over there for the past year and you can find other people’s goals too 😁 https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10297709/what-mini-goal-is-motivating-you-right-now/#latest5

Today's NSV: I am cold. I am NEVER cold. Today I am cold.🥶11

I had planned to join an 18 km group hike on Sunday but was still pretty sore from a strenuous workout and massage earlier in the week. I wanted to sit this one out but my partner encouraged me to take a short morning stroll to loosen up and the consider joining one of the other routes on offer, a bit shorter and starting a bit later in the day. I ended up going for about 15km in the end and even though my thighs were definitely speaking most of the time, I had no problem keeping up or completing the planned route. I feel awesome for getting out there!15

I finally fit into my UA hoodie without looking like the Michelin Man. I wore it for the 1st time on my 5 mile walk today, not my usual loose fitting t-shirts or hoodies. All the walking and push-ups are paying off and I'm ready to get back into weight training too.4

I had an early meeting this morning. Instead of blowing off my usual Tuesday morning bike ride I just got up earlier.6

I was able to avoid a fall today. I tripped while running and I was sure I was going face first in the dirt but miraculously I was able to straighten up. I did get a momentary twinge in my back but I’m stoked to have been able to stay upright. Balance and strength is nice!8

I want to take 2, 3 mile walks a week, since I am just starting out. I did one on Tuesday and wanted to take another yesterday and I didn't feel like it. But I pushed myself out the door and DID IT. I felt very tired when I got home but very accomplished. Today I feel so energetic. I like this feeling.8

I am getting a lot of compliments on my "new body" although I am having a hard time seeing it. all my clothes are very loose and when I went to go pick out jeans for work even a size 8 seemed too big. I am so much energy and enjoy eating healthy and going to the gym. Also I am inspiring those around me. I am so thankful to God for still being alive and healthy enough to do this.3

Test post to see if I can get this thread to sync again.
Anyone else having issues getting older, long threads to load?4 -

They load, but.... Some posts have weird links where the landing point is ten pages (200 posts) into the future. It's a lottery to find the real end of the actual posts. Doable, but not pleasant. I'm sure it will get fixed, but it ain't fixed yet.4 -
Not an NSV per se, but it tickled me no end.
I was washing hands at the airport and using the Dyson Blade dryer, the one you stick your hands into and it tornadically blows your skin to and fro.
I caught myself thinking, man, if I could get my belly with all the loose skin in there it would look like the sails at the World Cup!
TMI, but the random stuff you think!9 -
Yesterday I measured myself and I was about 1 cm smaller on all measurements.6

@peterbaird54, there's a bug in the software right now that's doing this. They're working on it. Use the number or arrow keys near the bottom of the page to go back a few pages, and you'll see the new posts. Of course, you won't see THIS post, since the notification will link to one of those blank pages. 🤷
Why do I even try? I don't know.

Currently on holiday in the Pyrenees and today we hiked to a mountain lake. Not only did I easily manage the 340m total ascent, I even managed to climb 200-250m carrying our backpack (probably 10kg/22lbs, BF usually carries it).
5 years ago I wouldn't even have tried this climb, I would have had to stop every few minutes to catch my breath!9 -

In awe!!!!
My dream trip is climbing the route the downed flyers took over the Pyrenees to escape
Occupied France. My heroine, Nancy Wake, was involved in helping them escape, and eventually had to take that route herself to escape the Gestapo.
When I checked into it, the trip leader said I’d need extensive experience in mountains. We’ve only got foothills and Blue Ridge around here. 😢

I started walking at the mall, on my way home from work, last October. With a goal of 70,000 steps per week. In the spring I switched to walking outside. Last month I decided to try jogging. To try and cover the same distance in less time. turns out I'm not too bad at it. I can knock out 2 ten minute miles at the beginning of my route. And then alternate between walking and running as I feel up for it. For the other 6. I hope to get to where I can run the entire distance. But I fear I might start slacking off with winter approaching. I cant see myself slowly getting 8 miles inside the mall. And the thought of joining a gym and spending hours on a treadmill seems dreadful.7

Steps happen in surprising places. I get lots during a cardio class, or during an aquafit class, which involves a lot of jogging in water. People tend to pooh-pooh aquafit but you get out of it what you put into it. As my instructor put it the other day, “there’s always the talkers over there, the ones who don’t say anything or make eye contact over on the other side, and I can always count on you guys in the middle to be giving it everything you’ve got.”
I can easily get a whole bunch vacuuming the house. Your significant other might be overjoyed, too 😉6 -

Oh, don't confuse me with a real mountaineer, I do well hiking up a mountain on a fair trail (thanks to being fit), but I'm an absolute coward when it comes to hiking downhill. Probably a mix of fear of heights and the fact that I only started hiking at 22 years old, so I never acquired any true confidence in my footing like true hikers from a young age (like my BF).
Just today I threw a fit/ panicked because we were 400m up from our starting point and it started to rain - my incline tolerance is way lower going downhill than uphill and add some rain to that and I'm terrified of slipping.
Made it down in one piece (15km, 467m ascent), but a bit of a relationship test 😝 I don't think I'd ever dare take on a trail like the one you're talking about!5 -
I hadn’t realized how much my t shirts gathered/rested at the top of my hips until they started gliding down to their full length when I put them on 😆5
