    Good morning beautiful ladies!

Mo as others have said you have a very difficult job, and you deal with it like a saint!

I have been up all night with my dog. I gave him some plain rice but he doesn't want it yet.

I bought myself a new teal bathroom rug. The old ones had long pile that always looked ratty. The new one is a much prettier color, and has low pile but is soft. Still machine washable, of course. I have some dark brown towels for dying my hair, and some mint green towels. One wall is a Robin's egg blue.

I ought to post a picture, but I never got that to work right. Something about an Android phone, or putting it on Facebook first.

Speaking of Facebook yesterday I gave a thumbs up to a picture by accident. About twenty percent of my clicks are accidents! It was something about my friends chemo. I was trying to look at the comments for more info. Lousy Facebook. I will have to text my friend directly.

Michele and others, thank you for the support! I see the doctor at ten so I will find out what's next. But I think it's going to be a referral to a GI specialist.

Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

    Rebecca,
School buses have to register their school so the ferry knows what to expect on the travel date. Then you show up with a letter on school letterhead to get a discounted rate. Taking ferries to games is one of the least favorite parts of my job, but it’s cool that my team qualified and the girls might get a chance to play at States.

Annie - good luck at the doctor today. Crossing fingers this episode is over for you and you can keep it under control. Sorry to hear about Teddy, hopefully he's better soon. After trying many different pet stain and odor removers on my carpets, I discovered sprinkling and working in a little baking soda over the stain or smelly spot then spraying white vinegar over it and letting it bubble for 20 minutes then blotting works fine for my purposes. On some of my carpets it does too good of a job leaving a noticeable clean spot. :p

Jeanne - good luck to your team and enjoy the ferry ride! DH and I used to live in Issaquah and had a lot of adventures on the peninsula and San Juans and loved taking the ferry. A lot less expensive then of course (I'm talking the 1980's :p )

Mo - between the patients and/or the parents, you do a remarkable job. I don't think I'd last a shift.

The IV fluid shortage, caused by the manufacturing plant's destruction from Hurricane Helene in South - or was it North Carolina a month ago, is hitting close to home. They are cancelling surgeries at the community hospital here. My friend T's DIL had a baby due on October 21 and the little one hasn't arrived yet and the birth will take place at a large regional hospital up north. They were going to induce her on Monday, then put it off because the hospital said they were packed with a large number of births - no room for her. Now, T is wondering if part of the problem is the IV fluid shortage. Baby girl might decide today is the day no matter what. DIL is showing signs that the birth is getting close.

Sending good wishes to everyone. <3

    Morning, kiddos...

Allie - Just wanted to say that I was wrong to be worried about Trulicity for you. You've done an amazing job with it, and I know the weight loss is affecting your other health issues very positively, like lupus and the heart issues. I'm so pleased for you and proud of you that you took that step and are staying with it.

I am trying to get my technology sorted out this morning. Found that it's quite hard to edit videos on a laptop - I had a larger monitor from my work days, but will need to pop out and get a wireless keyboard to make this work.

This is also part of the reason 😹😍😛:
    pc7kovy38c29.jpg

Before I head to the store, though, I'm going to tackle the remainder of the front porch - a little more white on the rails and posts, second coat mostly, then hose the concrete down and get a full-coat of the same blue as the house on the steps and the stoop. The sun is up far enough to see, and on the other side of the house, so not too hot for me to work! Got my paint clothes on, want to get this finished.

Many good thoughts to those who are working through struggles that weigh on your mind and heart and body, and much cheer and support for those who have triumphs, small and large alike. Love y'all.

LOL Lisa. I just had to comment that I am comforted that we have similar tastes in Youtube videos! And of course, Egg is too cute for words.

Much love to everyone. I am feeling a little off this morning, so taking the morning off from teaching, but will go into the prison at noon for my afternoon class. I should be fine by then. I hate to cancel because it disrupts their lives so much. Some of them don't get out of their housing units except for scheduled programming, so coming to our classroom is a much-needed break for them. Plus we have hot water for coffee!!

(((M0)))Sometimes the trauma attached to others in your case that young man and his family is overwhelming. I agree I would not be alone while treating him he and his family are too distraught to be rational. He more than likely will end up in some kind of court system which will only aggregate the trauma. Prayers for you and that family. I wish there was a way to mandate that family gets the help it needs because he is a minor. First they have to be open to the help. Is there a team social workers, doctors, you who (a crisis team) who could lay out what is a stake for that young man unless major changes happen. When I had to deal with difficult families when teaching I always reminded myself the child came first and that parents love their children and will defend them sometimes even if they do something wrong!

AnnieI have an Android. To share pics I send the pic to my Gmail. Once there I download it. Once downloaded I can share it. I do clear the downloads daily by clearing my browser. I clear my browser daily anyway for security reasons. I used to do it via Facebook but had trouble logging into Facebook for sometime because of a hack. I see have minor problems with Facebook because of that hack to this day, but have learned to work around it.

Wednesday: longest chat in decades with Joe this morning. He even shared a gypsy story from his past. Gotta love that guy.
Tuesday: Stamina is returning. Last night danced for 90 minutes, less two songs I sat out.
    Thank$ Rori! Thank$Mo!
Okie always good to see you popping in!

Allie “…not good at peopling…” Right there with you sister!
Machka “…support llama…”? I’d raise an eyebrow too! Maybe it’s just my canine and feline preference. Thanks for your insight that looking at animals calms Rowan.
Tracey rejoicing that the staff/atmosphere at your new job is wonderful. There will always be frustrations, glad it’s with systems and not staff. Good luck at the craft sales!
Lisa “…we worked well together, as long as we worked separately…” You found the magic key! Wise to abstain from the support animal situation, truly a no win for you.
Beth I too can’t make myself “exercise” at home. Signing up for classes like line T’ai Chi, chair yoga, line dance and now Better Bones & Balance and sometimes Zumba provides me the external discipline I lack. Good luck!
Lanette yours to Vicki, so insightful, so true.

I have an Android and share photos all the time. I don't use the app, only the website. I think that's the difference. I just use the little picture icon at the top here and it shows me recent pics, or I can browse for ones I have been sent.

I wrote this morning and did a good set of strengthening exercises.
Washed my new indigo jeans for the first time. :o I did them on 30° with all darks, and I can't see any colour problem. Mustn't be complacent next time though. :*

My next task, after paying the cleaner, is to catch up with downloading recent photos from Dropbox onto this tablet. I like to have my photos on both devices, as well as Dropbox. Running out of space though!

It will all be fine, you got this! I would come down and say hi, but I am just not a driver anymore, and husband is kind of a grumpy Gus sometimes about driving to Coupville. Now driving around Oak Harbor he's like no prob. Everything will go smoothly, no worries, and win!

AnnieHeather reminded me I go to apps on my phone then gallery to find my pictures. The pictures are sorted by dates so what I am looking for is often easy to find. Then I press the share button looks sort of like less than sign at the bottom. That is the share button. Then I sent it to Gmail. Hope this helps. Again because of space I do not save the downloads. They are in my e-mails if for some reason I want them again. I make a note as to what the picture is when I down load to make it easier to find in my e-mails. They come up as attachments in my e-mail.

    Hey, all,

Well... took me longer than I thought it would to get the front porch done, but that is, in all honesty, pretty much it for me. The rest of the work around the outside of the house, both pulling off the siding and painting the wood underneath it is all work that must be done from a ladder, and that's one thing I just don't do anymore. Too many of my meds leave me dizzy.

I said something about climbing up a ladder this weekend, and the look on Corey's face was so horrified I had to laugh. He seldom puts his foot down with me, but after seeing how he felt about it, I couldn't do it to him. Of course he's seen me have unexpected staggering sessions that come on with zero warning, just from changing direction on a flat floor.

The vertigo has, thank goodness, subsided. It stopped when I quit doing yoga. Not necessarily proof of causation, but definitely correlated. Haven't had the nerve to prove the hypothesis by doing yoga again yet.

Just snarfed a ham & cheese sandwich for lunch, while resisting potato chips to go with... and now it's either a shower and go to town quick or a shower and a nap. Much will depend on how I feel when I get out of the shower! Wouldn't even take one yet, but with this much blue paint on me, I look like I've been severely beaten... 👀🫤😂

But... I did accomplish that "functional work" that I was looking for as a way to get in some exercise that I definitely need, with more than 6,000 steps already this morning, and more to come. Corey's lunch call left him quite pleased that I'd been able to accomplish a job he didn't want to try to do on what may well be a rainy weekend, so that makes me feel good, too. We might even get a bit of rain tonight. Hope so - it's so dry out there.

    More later, kids...

Dr. Lisa just messaged me the results of my blood tests taken yesterday:

Your labs are looking good. Your Ha1c has decreased from 5.8% to 5.7%. Your TSH is normal.
Your kidney function and electrolytes are perfect. Your Vitamin D is excellent at 83.

I should be getting the print-out by the end of the week. I was hoping my A1C would be under 5.7 but at least it's going on the right direction. With "perfect" kidney and electrolyte function, all this protein doesn't seem to be adversely impacting anything.

@PDizzleB - Welcome! So pleased you're here, hope you're able to find your way back to us. For those who are new, like you and Jeanne, this is a reminder that tomorrow, Barbie will post the link to a new thread for the November thread. It's a great way to start with a clean slate each month. Make sure to bookmark that link (I use my computer bookmark, but you can bookmark it on your phone, too) in order to get back to us. Lots of support and engagement in each others whole lives, as we've found that weight loss and fitness take the whole person, not just counting calories. We stay away from politics and religion, which is part of what makes this a safe place to share each other's lives.

Allie - Delia's really getting alert... she looks very serene, hope she's an easy, happy baby.

Can't remember who was talking about posting pics - but the easiest way is to simply copy and paste a picture into the reply box. You can't change the size, but most of us don't anyway. Particularly from Facebook, that's genuinely the easiest way to post them here. It works with Microsoft anyway...

Still finding bits of blue paint everywhere... Corey pointed it out on my earlobe when he came home.

While we were putting pork schnitzel and pasta together for dinner, we also got our Thanksgiving dinner menu sorted out... pretty much Southern favorites - ham, sausage and chicken on the grill (Corey's contribution - the man is a walking meat-lovers pizza, I swear! 😂), and I'll make a big pot of pinto beans with ham stock and corn bread.

We'll have our son and his significant other bring potato salad and any dessert they want. Nice and easy... non-traditional. In all honesty, I'll probably end up having just a piece of corn bread soaked in bean liquor. Tastes and smells like home. I have very simple tastes in food, really. Helpful that I find most holiday foods kinda nauseating. I know a lot of folks really have a hard time with the holidays, and I have enormous sympathy.

Headed for bed early, I'm thinking,
    Later,
    Love,
    Lisa in AR

Worked then did HIIT at the gym. It was too late by the time I was finished to go in the pool so I just rinsed all the sweat off

I said to the asst. mgr “I won’t be here next Wed unless you need me”. Well, she said something about Rev (he’s the BK big wig) coming and she can use all the help she can get so she’d like me next Wed. Well, it’s not like I make a whole lot but every little bit helps. At least I can get to the gym after work.

Mo – I’m so sorry you had to go thru that with that new patient. I know that after a while, I get sick of hearing the “F” word all the time. I’m sure the doc can give you a good recommendation for the CPAP. I use Aeroflow, don’t know if that’s available in your area. They are good about contacting you when you are getting low on supplies. Hope all goes well at your appt

Lisa – agree wholehartedly with Flea – Egg is a real cutie

    PdizzleB – welcome!

Well, the “meeting” at BK wasn’t about what I thought it would be about. Basically, there really wasn’t much that affected me. Going over things like the uniform, no ripped jeans, black non-slip shoes, the one thing that I don’t do is wear my nametag, which really isn’t a big deal. Things like being sure to mark the time on the sandwiches etc which doesn’t relate to me. Smoking behind the dumpster or in your car, which doesn’t affect me since I don’t smoke. Oh well….

    Went bowling.
