My name is Donna. I am 5β 5β tall, 64 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.

12/07-192.4-(Trend Weight 192.8)- What a pathetic year this has been for me. Looking over my records I see that on Dec 31, 2023 I ended the year at 183.8. On my other challenges which are weekly or monthly my goal is always set to lose 4 lbs each month. 4 x 12 = 48 lbs. I could have been down to 135.8 lbs which is 10 lbs less than my actual overall goal. That means that by sometime in Sept or Oct I could have been in maintenance and learning so much about that phase from so many of you. 2024 is such a disappointment to me and to my health goals. Am I using my statistical data to help me going forward or am I just crying over spilled milk? Why document these weight results if not to use them? I donβt know but I do know that I can do better than this. I started the year at 183.8 Iβm 9 lbs heavier today. I know that no one can do it for me. Somewhere along the line this year I stopped keeping my home the βsafe zoneβ with only good foods. Iβm not going to blame anyone else, but I think it truly started when my DD and DGS started staying weekends. The foods in the house definitely changed. But that didnβt mean I had to eat them. Changes, compliance, readiness, willingness, they are all up to me. I hope that 2025 will be different. I know there will be setbacks we all encounter β travel, holidays, social or special occasions. But those are finite. Numbered. A lifestyle is forever and that is what needs to change in me. I suppose Iβm just reflecting today but I know I am not alone. I really want to make 2025 a banner year. It feels like I can do it if I just stay steadfast in my resolve. Iβve tasted all the donuts and tortilla chips and ice cream before. But I havenβt tasted the 140βs in about 22 years. Thatβs what I need to crave! I wanted to start with a 5 lb loss. 1.4 down and 3.6 to go.
12/08-192.2-(Trend Weight 192.8)- I donβt really trust this weight. I honestly think it should have been a bit lower. I had a great day yesterday and the scale this morning was all over the place. It started way too low showing Iβd lost over 5 lbs overnight. Knowing that was wrong I moved it to a different than usual place and it showed a gain over yesterday. I knew that was wrong too so I kept moving it little bits at a time and it kept changing. I finally took it down to the cement floor basement and got this weight twice in two spots so thatβs what Iβm settling with. However, since I havenβt been using that spot I donβt know that it is a direct comparison to previous weights. Iβm going to start from here and use the basement from now on I think. My scale is a rechargeable style and usually very reliable. I may try charging it tonight and see what happens. Today I am going out of town to see Moana 2 with DGS. Afterward, a small birthday party at a restaurant in the city for him. So Linner will be out. I expect the scale will be up a bit tomorrow but it should be temporary. I guess it wonβt be a good day afterall the test the scale after charging. Humph!

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I skipped this challenge for November and it was an epic fail. The first month since I started this journey that I gained weight. So I am back , probably for the rest of my life LOL! My Aunt is up from Florida for the holidays and didn't get to go on our Girls Weekend trip this year, so we are doing this with her instead. Should be fun - bringing my own lunch!

I'm Cindy and 51 and have been married to my very supportive husband for 27 years. We have a daughter who is 19.
I can't believe its December!πβ 2024 has not been my year for loosing weight. However, I did get a gym membership in July and go consistently. Usually 4 days a week, so I consider that a win. I do feel more fit even if the scale doesn't reflect it.
The November goal of logging my food was met the last half of the month and I started to see a little change in weight.

@iLive2Walk I found this particularly inspiring today. You are away from home and still finding a way to get in your fitness and eat properly by even bringing your own food! I would have used this as an excuse to try a new restaurant or a new menu item! Honestly, you are teaching me so much! I don't know when I will be as prepared, as able or as willing as you to make these concessions, but the reminders of where I need to be are so important to me! Thanks for always sharing a better way!1 -

12/09-194.0-(Trend Weight 192.9)- We had a wonderful time seeing Moana 2 and having a little birthday party at a nearby restaurant while out of town yesterday. Itβs always a joy to spend fun time with my DGS that I babysit. Scale is up today. I weighed on the basement floor again so I could get a direct comparison. Iβm still leary of how the scale is working since I got that weird reading yesterday of a 5 lb loss overnight, then a 2 lb gain. Keeping an eye on it! If yesterdayβs reading was correct then todayβs is probably right. I would expect to have gained a pound or two after the travel and festivities of yesterday.

Then had my lunch, and just got on her treadmill to start my walk and she called to say they dismissed them early (1:00). They didn't even call her in. When I got home, plopped on the couch to see what was happening in the world, made dinner and then got my workouts done. Since I hadn't walked at all, jumped on the treadmill for mile so I could say I got it all done! Whew! I lead just an exciting life!

Iβm still leary of how the scale is working since I got that weird reading yesterday of a 5 lb loss overnight, then a 2 lb gain. Keeping an eye on it! If yesterdayβs reading was correct then todayβs is probably right. I would expect to have gained a pound or two after the travel and festivities of yesterday.

Hoping for a swish tomorrow if I can get it all done today. Today is supposed to be a a crazy weather day - a high of 65 degrees in December, we average about 37 degrees. With it comes high winds, and 2 inches of rain. Yuck - no outside walk today. I guess I'll get some much needed cleaning and wrapping done.

I skipped the past couple of days because I wasn't feeling well. Turns out. I have COVID (again). The first time was Halloween, 2022. I've now had a total of 11 COVID shots, including the latest booster on 9/21; so I hope it's a milder case this time! I started having symptoms on Sunday and tested positive on Tuesday.
