Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I have been with group for a while. I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two year have lost almost 90 pounds. With the help of this group I made it to the ideal weight loss range. Logging in Daily really keeps me on track. Now I'm working on a buffer to make it so I never hit overweight again. This round, I am going to change things up a bit - going to post my goal accomplishment daily, but only weigh in on Wednesday, we'll see how that goes!

Hi Jill @jm216, Congratulations on your upcoming, 30-year anniversary! That's amazing! It's also impressive that you're able to lose weight over this festive season!
I'm in Massachusetts (Boston metropolitan area), age 66, divorced since 1988 with one son, aged 41. He's been married over 4 years. No grandchildren. (His wife is 45; so the only "grandchildren" I have are their two chickens, "Meadow" and "Willow"!)
I hope it's okay to check in weekly to see how everyone's doing? Daily weigh-ins were giving me anxiety, but they did help me to be more careful during the very challenging holiday season, for which I'm very grateful!
I hope your feeling is right about 2025! I am looking for a fresh start and to build healthy habits to maintain for the rest of my lifetime.
Very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!🎉🌟🙏💗4 -
@Walela617 I'm doing the same, sort of. I'm going to check in every day, post my goal accomplishments/struggles. Then weigh in, reflect on the week and catch up with the team on Wednesdays. So glad you're returning.1

Hi @iLive2Walk, I plan to report daily calories and activity on my favorite boards to keep in touch with MFP friends and to be more accountable.
I like Jill's idea of intentional movement for at least 20 minutes per day. I think I should be able to do that!
Best wishes!

Happy (almost) New Year to all!
Thank you for getting this going and for the inspiration!💪
My name is Maeve. I am 61 (had to stop and do the math), have been married almost 30 years, have four kids in their twenties, love my job (healthcare), and am sooooo ready to make 2025 the year of getting healthy and strong.
My son is getting married in May, and that is certainly a motivator, but I want these practices to be lifelong. I am doing keto; it has worked for me in the past until I stopped putting in the work to stay healthy.
Cheers to all!💃

Happy new year!
Hoping this will be a great year. Goals are to stick to calories, exercise 4 x week, get a job, achieve 90kg goal, do Enrolled nursing from March.
I still have COVID and attended hospital yesterday to make sure I wasn’t developing other infections etc. all clear. They just think it’s long term COVID. Hoping I will be well for my birthday on the 4th.

Hi all,
I’m Debbie. I’m 45, married for 22 years. I have 2 kids, one just got accepted to college the other is a 6th grader. About 4 years ago we moved from Florida to Massachusetts. Shortly afterwards my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He survived and is currently healthy, but the stress of everything cost me major weight gain! I’m currently 230 lbs which is my highest ever, including my 2 pregnancies!
My goals for 2025 are:
Lose weight (I’d love to get back to 160 but I’m trying to be realistic)
Get off blood pressure meds
Get back into an exercise routine.
I’ve been on and off MFP for years but this time I’m committed to stick with it! Happy new year everyone!4 -

Hello Carole,
I’ve decided not to do the weekly group. I’m trying to keep things simpler this year. On this thread you can post how you want… daily or weekly… whatever works best for you.

1. Exercise at least 3 hours a week.
2. Eat at or below tdee daily
3. Eat minimum protein daily.
4. Be in bed by 12 pm.
5. Be up by 8

Thanks to Jill for getting this going and to everyone for your posts. Lots of determination here. Thanks!
Funny how the littlest things can help. I started keeping three water bottles going, such a small self-care move, but a big help.

Hey everyone, I'm Cleo. 48 years old.
I used to exercise a ton, but been struggling with some health problems the last year- just got diagnosed with arthritis in both hips, and possibly a soft tissue tear/damage in my right hip. Have an MRI in a couple weeks to see the full picture and how to fix what can be fixed.
My weight has been creeping up for a few years, so even though I have limited mobility I want to do the exercise I can do and try to start managing calories better.
So January goals:
** Weigh in weekly on Wednesdays.
**Track calories every day.
**Stick to my calorie goals (1600, plus 100 on days I go in to the office- more movement/longer day)
**Do the approved exercises I can do.
Weigh in Jan 1- 162.2 lbs.
Goal weight in Jan- 159 (I know this isn't much, but I really feel like I need to start with baby steps and not set myself up for failure right now).

@deepwoodslady - I'm wondering if a new scale isn't in line for you. I can' imagine that it is too uplifting or motivating to here such nonsense from your scale. Artificial Intelligence is just that ARTIFICIAL! Listen to us instead - your persistence is amazing. With a fresh new year coming, get back to the mindset - beating one mini goal at a time! You CAN do it!
@iLive2Walk The info doesn't come from my scale. It is from a website I use on my PC called trendweight.com . I do like the tracking info, I just don't always like the comments! MFP often does the same thing when I close out my day. It will tell me how skinny I'm going to be in just 5 weeks or it will tell me how much fatter than I believe I will be. I think any app or website that tries to do projections are usually pretty far off as there is no way for them to predict the future, even when looking at the past (due to holidays, occasions and other irregularities). I just have to learn to take them with a grain of salt if I want to pursue their data, otherwise. If it was just my scale, I would take your advice and just chuck it lol!1 -
My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 64 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

01/01-193.4-(Trend Weight 192.9)- Okay, so not the greatest start for 2025, but I plan on a great finish! Last night ended with pizza and cheese bread and a small celebration with middle DD and DS. I managed to stay away from the wine and the adult beverages even though I had it chilling. Weight up today. Hopefully back down to 192 point anything by tomorrow. I really need to pre-log my food today. It’s been awhile. It’s key. Welcome to 2025, a new year and a new opportunity. And welcome to all our new friends who have chosen this challenge. 🎉 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! 🎉
We're finally here! 2025!
Hi Jill (@jm216), Thanks so much for initiating this challenge! I can certainly relate about keeping things simpler in 2025! Since this is a daily challenge, I will post total calories and activity daily (like steps, workout videos, etc.). For the weight, I will post every Wednesday this month, with a final weigh-in for this challenge on Friday, January 31st.
I will post my weight and scale app stats as well as basic measurements: Bust, Waist, Hips and "Potbelly" today and also at the end of this challenge on January 31st, for a side-by-side comparison to show progress made throughout January. My challenge goal is to lose 5 lbs. (or more) by February and to reduce my waist measurement by at least one inch. (I really want to get my scale app to STOP thinking I'm 70 years old, LOL! I'd also like to lower my body fat percentage so it no longer reports me as "obese"!)
In the meantime, I will post my weight each Wednesday and will show weight change as 'Up", "Down", or "Same" (in pounds) for the week as well as total change since January 1st. Here goes!
01/01/24: 153.0
WK CHGE: 00.0 (Same)
TL CHGE: 00.0 (Same)
B: 40" / W: 37" / H: 40" / P: 43"
So, there it is. I only gained 0.8 lbs. since December 1st - not bad considering it was over the holiday season; so I'll just consider that "maintaining"!
I will check in once per day to catch up on our posts and report calories and steps logged for that day, as well as any other intentional activity, such as an exercise video. (Please note: This is just to help me stay more accountable and to keep me on track.)
Enjoy your day! Sending very best wishes to all!🌟
💖 Carole
I should also note here that I have also stopped drinking any alcoholic beverages (since December 28th) and I intend to keep it that way!) I'm counting today as my official "Day One" alcohol-FREE! This will save me so many calories (and money)!5 -
Hi All!
🎉🎆Happy New Year!!🎆🎉
I am a mom of five, trying to lose my last few pounds.
Goals for January:
Pre-log my day's food every morning!
