    Soccer will wait

Feb weather here for a little while. Snug up in a blanket works for me. Meals in freezer dishes in sink I am ignoring today.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Happy Sunday Y'all~~

Sandy - what a good idea about giving your clothes to the Veterans! Yay you! Bummer about all of the re-connection of your devices. 🫤

Maureen! What a business with your blood clotting thing. Sending hugs. I hope you heal up quickly with your knee. We know you like to be active. 🏃‍♀️

I'm trying to get my act together, but there's been a lot of backsliding…. I feel like Sisyphus and his rock. Tomorrow I'll buy some chicken and a pile of vegetables, avoid the cake I've been craving and soldier on~

Lana, cake and potato chips are my achilles heels. I can't have either around. I will portion out for a bit, then suddenly finish all that is left. So—single serving purchases if I buy at all.

It's a glorious day here and I have been out twice for short walks. Recovery time needed after the "exertion," haha. But pacing myself is even more important this time due to the anemia. I cannot afford to pass out and fall, with 2 fake knees and blood thinner making me bleed like a stuck pig.

I will start logging again tomorrow—don't know my actual weight and don't care. I can tell how my clothes feel—and want the tightness to go away. Goal #1!

    Cheers,

    Maureen

It is Monday again 😁 Time to hit the ground running.

Sara - I missed seeing your post the other day. Sorry about that. Wishing you a good week. Do you know that old expression "back to the salt mines"? My father used to say that. Well, in your case, I feel that for you, it's "back to the mine field". 😳 🤗

Maureen - oh yes, yesterday was a glorious day weather wise. What can you do for your anemia?

I've got an over-booked day today, and Tuesday looks the same. One hurdle at a time, though.

Waves to Sandy and Missy and everyone who stops by later on~

Lana, I’m taking iron supplements—that’s the tx for anemia I guess. I feel fine bc I haven’t tried to do much. I will take a couple months to get back to healthy hemoglobin/hematocrit levels, but clearly the blood transfusion I had gave me a boost in the right direction.

my older sis is an NP and very experienced, so she has helped me set up some dietary supplements too.

It’s another clorious day here and I plan to head out for a short walk. Aiming for 2-3 a day as I build endurance.

    have a good day, all.

    Good Afternoon!

Hey Maureen! Sorry to hear about all the medical issues, but glad to see you again and that things are evening out for you....AND you are taking it easy. Continued recovery!

I was awakened early by a repair crew working on a small sinkhole in the parking lot right outside my windows. They were cutting a cement sewer pipe to go in the hole. Then the landscaping crew started THEIR noise...mowers, edgers, blowers. It's still going on.

I am feeling blah again today. I worry a lot and for me that's normal. And my weight is reflecting it.

I wish you all a great day!

    Sandy

So here we go again, I was around ten years ago, but I gained it all back and more. I'm now at 218 and something's gotta change.

This time I'm more than well aware that I'll be watching my weight for the rest of my life, unless something nasty grabs me. I wanted to get a GLP-1 going on but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I'm in the states and it's a pain in the butt.

Biggest battle, mindless eating because I'm hungry. So I'm chewing a lot of sugarless gum. I don't like it, but it's better than eating crap.

Second battle, exercise. I don't wanna, except once I get going I love it.

Finally, the food database here is amazeballs! However last night I entered a coleslaw recipe and it assumed I was using the provided dressing packet. Now I have to figure out how to fix that, I use an oil and vinegar dressing with a sugar substitute, I didn't eat 10+ grams of sugar!

Things I'd love to know, how to convert soup recipes to instant pot, How (if possible) to see if it had the write match before I add my recipe, Where the time all goes…

I don't expect answers to any of this in this thread specifically.

    Later that same day….

Maureen - wow, you have an older sister, and she is a helpful, wise angel in your life. Good for you! These past couple of days here in NC have been so uplifting, right?

Sandy - Oh, I hear you about the noise outside because that happens where I live. When it gets bad I get in the car and go to the little community park, the grocery store that has outdoor seating in the shade, or the library. Maybe you can think of a few places that you can run away to.

Autumn, if you have mindless eating because you are hungry, then you aren't eating enough of the right stuff. Pile on the protein (with some fat), add veggies, and then get some fiber in there. Beware of having calculation fatigue. Don't run numbers when you are hungry.

One of my favorite hunger busters ➡️ Trader Joe's lentils from the produce section; they come in a vacuum sealed pkg inside a box in the middle of the fresh veg section. Cut a 1/4 section, put in a bowl, and add a smidge of your favorite seasoning…. protein and fiber. Nothin' better in a pinch. It shuts down hunger pangs between meals, and they are quite tasty!

❗️Always cook more protein than you need to eat in that next meal. Have leftovers set aside for emergencies.

Our friend Sara always cooks many portions at a time, and she always has answers on hand/in her freezer.

I started a little over a month ago back on this journey to get back down (again) on my weight. I was at one time getting close to 160 and needing to upsize my clothes again. I was 154 when I started again and weighed in at 141 yesterday! I want to be in by mid 130s by my vacation in June. Some people are starting to notice the weight loss.

Today I overslept. I told myself to bring my bank card (I don't carry it with me to stop the overspending on things I don't need) Two lovely co-workers provided me some options to eat -most of it healthy. I just had an apple and granola bar and only $2.20 in my wallet. You can't really get anything any more with that little amount!

Greetings, all. Day 15 post surgery. No new surprises. That's good.

I'm not logging yet but appetite may be returning so I'm sure I'll start soon

In the meantime, my anemia means I have to be very careful not to overdo. "Overdo" is my middle name, so this has me stumped—I may be underdoing as a result, but I guess that's ok.

I see a couple new folks—welcome. Please give us your "go to" names.

    Cheers, all

    Hey, All!

    Sorry I was AWOL...it happens.

Maureen, glad the recovery is going well!

Angela, sounds like you have some helpful co-workers.

Lana, hope today is a better day for you!

Been worried about my dog....yesterday he was shaking and panting. I know that can mean pain, but I saw no outward issue. The last time this happened, it was because I was sneezing a lot because I was sick (sneezing freaks him out). I wasn't sneezing this time, but the behavior was the same.…panting, shaking, wandering restlessly around the apartment, trying to hide. He is a little better today, but not completely over it. I am going to take him for a walk in a little while and maybe that will help. Plus I have had 2 panic attacks today and the walk will help ME, too.

    Till tomorrow....

    Sandy
