I've lost over 50 pounds and love exercise! I've done it all from a half marathon, rock climbing to yoga Depending on my weight a d fitness level I just wanted to suggest that if you are lifting weights, you may not lose pounds as quickly but you will look fab and toned! Instead of rewards every 10 pounds which may be discouraging I would suggest rewards for inch loss right now or reduced clothing sizes. My waist is 27.5 and hips are 35....my bras are too big and my weight is "stuck" at mid 130s I'm not upset but I feel ready to focus on weights training myself now! Yoga burns the inches, walking burns the fat. When I resume weights this fall....My focus will be on measurements Favourite rewards for me have been a massage at 10 pounds, fitting into my smaller clothes, breakfast or a nice dinner out, manicures.....anything at all that makes you feel special! Think about inch loss Instead though now . My original NSV I came on to post is that my loose skin I had on the inside of my elbow, the only tiny area I had any, I've noticed is GONE!! It could be all those downward facing dogs helped! 😆

Hi! Yoga with Adriene I started a few years ago and it was difficult as a heavier person but stuck with it and now it's so much easier I should have sayed It really tones my body When I don't do it for a while notice the inch loss stops When I am disciplined and do her 30 day challenges the inches melt off quickly I have completed 5 and 4 of them twice I enjoy repeating them once because I enjoy the production so much and am currently repeating my 5th I think beginners should check them out and focus on the series that feature 20 minute workouts You don't need to join a gym to start moving and see results As you tone and lose pounds and inches you naturally gravitate towards needing more exercise to see results 😉

I LOVED this! I've also taken hot yoga classes and power yoga, etc thru a yoga membership I once had. So many inspiring people! One young pregnant woman disappeared for a while, then I stopped going. When I returned I didn't recognize her and all she had done was yoga to bounce back into shape. After 2 years the studio became so popular it became unenjoyable as each class was so full. After a vacation where I did yoga by the pool every morning in a class I was inspired to find a better way and found home yoga with Adriene. I love the difficulty without the jarring. I think yoga is confused with stretching, but what a fantastic workout for everyone! Our bodies thank us for taking a chance on this "stretching class". 😉

Thanks for the explanation. As in the post below, I had associated yoga more with gentle stretching, had forgotten about Ashtanga :).
