Ok so Iβve really had enough of fast food and binges. My squalid living conditions and total isolation is causing serious depression that antidepressants arenβt working for. I just bought a new car today and it barely felt joyful. I am in constant physical pain barely slept last few nights and need to do something to get myself right again.
Creating healthy recipes was something productive I used to do but I actually need a kitchen that isnβt filthy. My son wonβt help with anything so somehow I have to try and do it by myself- this includes actually leaving the house alone which I donβt do. Now I have my own car again and he has his own thereβs no excuse to sit at home all day - apart from my anxiety issues that revolve around how fat and gross I feel.

I'm trying to start small so that I don't freak out if I fail.

I'm pretty sure I have insulin resistance. I did an extra walk yesterday, but that's it. All of a sudden I lose 2 lbs overnight. I'm going to keep experimenting with this and see how it goes with adding one extra walk. It's less than 20 minutes a day that I'm adding.

It is definitely insulin resistance. I didn't even eat great yesterday. I just did the two things my neighbor's doctor (she works at a PCP's office) told us to do. She said that if we lose weight and the only real change we make is intermittent fasting and adding a 20 minute walk, we have insulin resistance. Today I'm going to be more strict about what I eat at dinner and see if I drop more or bloat from the change.

I'm genuinely shocked at how much I've lost this week. I would've never guessed that making two very small changes would lead to such a great week. I even had a jack and coke last night, and thought I would be bloated today from the soda and alcohol. This has been a great week!

I thought I ate really bad yesterday but I looked at the nutrition info on some of the things I would normally eat and my mouth went π¬ I wouldn't eat those foods all the time, but at least once or twice a week. And I'm talking about things we always see in people's fridge: Italian sausage, sauces, chips, etc.

I didn't log much food from yesterday. My daughter had her surgery to remove her port, so we were up at 3am and didn't come home until til around 7pm.

About half. It takes one day to add it and way longer to lose it. Oh, the complexities of the human body! Emergency travel required today as DGS age 6 is being taken by ambulance to a hospital downstate a couple of hours away for emergency appendix removal. Meals will be hospital food or a local restaurant later. Lots of travel and hospital sitting. I donβt expect good things on the scale tomorrow and may skip weighing altogether. My main focus right now is getting on the road. Prayers for Asher. Today is also my oldest daughterβs birthday. Sheβs 42 now. Where does the time go? Just yesterday she was wearing a little sunsuit and learning to walk on the scratchy lawn of our little humble rental house! Now sheβs a beautiful wife, mother and headstart teacher. I couldnβt be prouder of her!
πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ06/14-194.4 β - (Trend Weight: 192.5) This reflects a 2.2 lb gain overnight (restaurant food/travel) and a 3.2 lb gain over 3 days (again restaurants). Now Iβve got my work cut out for me! I was supposed to go to a Festival in town today with my son that weβve managed to miss every year. Food trucks galore which would be hard to resist. At this point, I think I should skip it yet another year.
My DGS made it through the emergency surgery late last night at 10:00 pm. It was a very long day and a long travel home. Not back until 1:00 am and no sleep last night with worry. His appendix had burst. Reports today show that he is doing well but they are having to use the drainage bag on the tummy so he will be in for 3-5 days now. What a trooper!

Been a rough couple of days. Spent most of yesterday in bed and on the couch not feeling well. Not sure if I ate something bad, but the hubby has been struggling with tummy issues the last couple days so maybe we are both fighting some type of virus. I feel better today, just moving slow. Today is Fatherβs Day, so we will be having the grandparents over for a cookout.

πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ06/15-190.4 β - (Trend Weight: 192.3) I know that I did not eat 11,000 extra calories over and beyong my 1400 allowance to gain 3.5 pounds in 72 hours. Now, I know that I did not burn 14,000 extra calories over the 1400 overnight to lose 4.0 pounds overnight. Itβs true, it does matter WHERE the calories come from. I finally lost some water/sodium bloat apparently from the foods I ate to gain in the days prior. I havenβt had my prescribed water pill in weeks, but it looks like today I wonβt need one either! Back on track with my real weight (I hope) and I am going to try to stay on schedule.

Another day. Another failure. I canβt believe how huge my stomach is - the bloating is ridiculous. All my CT showed was fatty liver and an umbilical hernia. I thought it would should a huge amount of fluid or blockage somewhere to explain the pregnant π« belly but nope.

06/15-190.4 β - (Trend Weight: 192.3) I know that I did not eat 11,000 extra calories over and beyong my 1400 allowance to gain 3.5 pounds in 72 hours. Now, I know that I did not burn 14,000 extra calories over the 1400 overnight to lose 4.0 pounds overnight. Itβs true, it does matter WHERE the calories come from. I finally lost some water/sodium bloat apparently from the foods I ate to gain in the days prior. I havenβt had my prescribed water pill in weeks, but it looks like today I wonβt need one either! Back on track with my real weight (I hope) and I am going to try to stay on schedule.
SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH:
πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπβ06/16-191.2 -β (Trend Weight: 192.1) Weight is settling in and leveling off, I believe, since the whopping 4 lb overnight drop. This feels right. Foodie DD and DGS left last night and I immediately proceeded to finish off all of the off-limit snacks that were left behind. Why, Donna, why? It felt like self-sabotage not hunger. Their snacks are all gone now so I anticipate a good day today. We are expecting very HOT temps today. Iβll be staying inside so there is zero change of restaurant food today. For me, thatβs a very good thing. DGS is doing well since surgery but still in a lot of pain. He is able to get up walking just a bit in the hospital now. Maybe home tomorrow. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

I found that I have been trudging around in the 190-195 range since the beginning of August of last year. Almost a year! Really Donna? I think it is high time that I TMI or get off the pot!

Was just under 8k steps for the day, which I consider a good day since I spent most of it behind a desk in meetings. Rain and 90 degree heat moved in last night, so Iβll either be walking inside or doing my Pilates videos today!

Yesterday was my weekly weigh in day and it was lower than it's been in probably several years! Not by a lot, but I'll take it. I think not eating so much take out has helped, although I do find it challenging. It's almost like an addiction.

I'm pretty sure I have insulin resistance. I did an extra walk yesterday, but that's it. All of a sudden I lose 2 lbs overnight. I'm going to keep experimenting with this and see how it goes with adding one extra walk. It's less than 20 minutes a day that I'm adding.

It is definitely insulin resistance. I didn't even eat great yesterday. I just did the two things my neighbor's doctor (she works at a PCP's office) told us to do. She said that if we lose weight and the only real change we make is intermittent fasting and adding a 20 minute walk, we have insulin resistance. Today I'm going to be more strict about what I eat at dinner and see if I drop more or bloat from the change.

I'm genuinely shocked at how much I've lost this week. I would've never guessed that making two very small changes would lead to such a great week. I even had a jack and coke last night, and thought I would be bloated today from the soda and alcohol. This has been a great week!
