Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

Day 92—08/14— 143.6 - Not sure what is up with me. For sure I am puffy everywhere, and I don't think that I had any (hidden?) salt. I haven't been eating my yoghurt with a 1/4 cup of granola. Maybe I need to get back into that habit, I just haven't felt like it. Otherwise, I have been eating the same as usual, but I did overheat a couple of days in a row. Very sad about this huge gain : - (
Day 93—08/15— 140.0 - I did cut the rest of the grass in the sun yesterday after work, but I didn't stay out there long enough to overheat I guess. Donna, (and Dawn) remind me that days working hard in the sun always give me a big gain. Not 5 pounds usually, but often 3 pounds. I plan to be out there today harvesting some or all of my garlic before it begins to rain overnight. Not good to do it while it is wet.
Day 94—08/16— 138.6 - Okay, back to last week's start weight. Friends dropped over yesterday evening. An hour earlier would have been good - I had a tree service pull out my rogue lilac bushes that were sending roots all over my front yard while I was at work. They were supposed to grind all of the roots (the whole area was started with one single root) and as I began to want to replant what I had pulled out so that they could get their machine in there - there were giant roots reaching 3-4 feet in length underground! Argh. I had to dig a bit, pull, dig more, pull etc., to rip up the ground and follow them. There were about 8 that they missed completely and it was VERY hard work. My friends showed up just as I was finishing the last one. The man could have done all of that quickly and gladly would have, but it took me almost 2 hours. Anyway, all good, area replanted. Together we harvested all of the Georgian Fire from one location and braided it, and then had Mojitos with the mint from my garden and a fab visit. Supposed to rain all day today and looks like it rained a bit overnight. I need to pull the rest of the garlic this morning before it is saturated and too muddy to pull. It is overdue for harvest and I don't want to have to wait 3 or 4 more days to get it out, braided, and hanging.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

Day 93—08/15—183.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.6) Dinner was out yesterday out-of-town to a very large eat-in Dairy Queen with 3 DGS’ and my son after their hair appts. I let them choose and we ended up at a place where a medium turtle Blizzard is over 1000 calories alone! Later at home, I kept dinner light but I probably inhaled about 2500 calories for the day and no formal exercise. My DD and DGS are back for the weekend. I hope she minds her manners! I REALLY REALLY need to go grocery shopping in a town with a big box store VERY VERY SOON and restock son’s food and my diet foods. That means travel and all that comes with it. UGH. I don’t mind today’s weight even though it’s up a full two pounds. I did kind of want one day of higher calories to shake it up a bit. But two higher calorie days in the same week could be disastrous! I’m going to have to put some thought into this!
⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 94—08/16—184.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.6) This is crazy that I’ve gained 3 pounds in two days. I did have the DQ 3 days ago and there has been no TMI for 2 days now. I’m sure these are both contributing but it’s always pretty shocking to see such a big jump. Especially when my calories last night were 1012 and my carbs were 61. Today I am going to the county fair that is about 75 miles each way from me. Not much to do in this small town or my county so it is a big deal to our community. I do try to get my autistic son out of the house here and there and today is the last day of the fair. We will probably eat from a food truck and play some games and just be part of the overall social event and all the fair offers. Scale-wise, it’s not the best time or the best day to be going but, if not today, then we miss out until next year. I’ll try to be sensible.

I liked today's weigh in (second column from left.) I haven't seen that number in many months. I cut way back on sodium the past five days.
I suspect that I might be more sensitive to sodium these days. I appropriated my husband's BP cuff. I took a reading today and I will start tracking it in my health app. Systolic was 129 today, so let's see how that trends over time. Diastolic looked good. That was just one data point, so we shall see, but I want to see how it progresses while I continue to improve my habits.
So, I'll be working on keeping sodium much lower. The experiment begins…

I like that you are going to be sensible about what you put in your mouth while there. Inevitably you go out to eat quite a lot, I feel like you have turned the corner on your choices and amounts. You did so well at the fair last week.

Hello friends! I let myself slip away and miss these 100 days. Last time I noted my weight was May 16 at the start of this challenge … amazingly it was 209.6 … same as today. After the start of this challenge it quickly went up to 211-212 by early June. I slowly worked it back down.
I've been traveling a ton this year 20 days in Japan in April, 3 days in Salt Lake City in May and then 15 days Alaska in July. The good news is that I think I've figured out cruising and haven't gained more than 1 or 2 pounds upon returning from these trips which I'm able to knock back off. Now though I need to learn how to get out of this maintenance of around 208-211 and work my way down the scale.
I'm feeling more focused and committed this week. It is good to check in once again with ya'll.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Day 92—08/14— 143.6 - Not sure what is up with me. For sure I am puffy everywhere, and I don't think that I had any (hidden?) salt. I haven't been eating my yoghurt with a 1/4 cup of granola. Maybe I need to get back into that habit, I just haven't felt like it. Otherwise, I have been eating the same as usual, but I did overheat a couple of days in a row. Very sad about this huge gain : - (
Day 93—08/15— 140.0 - I did cut the rest of the grass in the sun yesterday after work, but I didn't stay out there long enough to overheat I guess. Donna, (and Dawn) remind me that days working hard in the sun always give me a big gain. Not 5 pounds usually, but often 3 pounds. I plan to be out there today harvesting some or all of my garlic before it begins to rain overnight. Not good to do it while it is wet.
Day 94—08/16— 138.6 - Okay, back to last week's start weight. Friends dropped over yesterday evening. An hour earlier would have been good - I had a tree service pull out my rogue lilac bushes that were sending roots all over my front yard while I was at work. They were supposed to grind all of the roots (the whole area was started with one single root) and as I began to want to replant what I had pulled out so that they could get their machine in there - there were giant roots reaching 3-4 feet in length underground! Argh. I had to dig a bit, pull, dig more, pull etc., to rip up the ground and follow them. There were about 8 that they missed completely and it was VERY hard work. My friends showed up just as I was finishing the last one. The man could have done all of that quickly and gladly would have, but it took me almost 2 hours. Anyway, all good, area replanted. Together we harvested all of the Georgian Fire from one location and braided it, and then had Mojitos with the mint from my garden and a fab visit. Supposed to rain all day today and looks like it rained a bit overnight. I need to pull the rest of the garlic this morning before it is saturated and too muddy to pull. It is overdue for harvest and I don't want to have to wait 3 or 4 more days to get it out, braided, and hanging.
Day 95—08/17— 139.0 - I'm okay with the small uptick, I was up much earlier and the weigh-in was before the bathroom. Split shift again today, lots to do in the yard during my break (mostly weeding) although I expect to get some done this morning before work since it will be cooler.

I’m so glad there is not a scale in the B&B we are staying at. I logged more than 3000 IN calories yesterday! We walked all day and burned 2400 calories. But that is a 600 surplus for one day.
we toured pike place market and the waterfront, took the ferry across the bay, did the Beneath The Streets guided tour and then had a 5 course Italian tasting menu at Spinasse where they serve everything in the menu. I’m still full from dinner and feel kind of gross.Dawn - I’m not a big picture taker as I prefer to experience the moment. My husband takes pictures on his ‘fancy’ camera. I won’t get these until after the trip.

@age_is_just_a_number You're in Seattle. Are you taking a cruise of the Alaska inside passage?
In July my husband and I took my mother (88 yrs old) and my sister on Oceania Riviera for a 12 day cruise. It was lovely with lots of opportunity to move on the ship and walk onshore. We had wonderful weather … only rain was in Juneau in the afternoon. Wishing you great weather and the opportunity to make memories.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

I’m sure these are both contributing but it’s always pretty shocking to see such a big jump. Especially when my calories last night were 1012 and my carbs were 61. Today I am going to the county fair that is about 75 miles each way from me. Not much to do in this small town or my county so it is a big deal to our community. I do try to get my autistic son out of the house here and there and today is the last day of the fair. We will probably eat from a food truck and play some games and just be part of the overall social event and all the fair offers. Scale-wise, it’s not the best time or the best day to be going but, if not today, then we miss out until next year. I’ll try to be sensible.

I had an intense exercise session yesterday, including a Zwift ride with some climbs and a full-body strength workout. My food was heart-healthy yesterday, including the sodium and fiber.
I did feel like I wanted to eat just a bit more at the end of the day, and those pecans were delicious. I'm not looking at net calories here, so it was probably just fine considering that intense, long workout.
I've really leveled up on my workouts during this challenge. I most definitely feel the changes in my body. I feel better and my clothes fit better.
