A new day, a new week.

Jeffery, good to hear from you. I look forward to the day of no bp meds. Got rid of one but 4 to go.

Marie, I guess you will be enjoying your cantalope soon. I was wondering where your waterfall came from, nice.

    Gayla, Have good day.

Sandy, Hope your pocketbook is heavier not lighter when you return. I'm too Scotch to gamble.

    Phoebe, How's the back?

To all, have a good day.

It's not WI day for me yet, but the scale is going the right direction to get ride of the lbs I found since we got home.
We're looking around for a new[er] vehicle. They are such a drain on the budget, but we are so dependent on them. We have one little shopping area within walking distance but otherwise it is 'fasten your seat belt'.
Do you all plan ahead for the whole day and post your calories before you eat? I guess I need to be a bit more structured, it would probably help.
    Talk to you later.

Good Morning....The sun is shining...and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day....

Marie I hope your tests go well and you got to finally eat....

I have been having some sort of back problems...it is not my spine..it is off to the side...Just sitting here at the computer it does not hurt...but when I get up..it is painful...I am moving very slowly....an am going to try the elliptical today for the first time since Thursday.

I did lose a couple of those nasty pounds....I think....my scale gave me three different readings but at least they were all lower than last Monday's reading....Guess I will be getting a new battery.....

Hope everyone had a nice weekend...and that your week will be wonderful....:flowerforyou:

I went to line dance class with some of the women who went to the workshop on Saturday. We danced some of the dances we learned at the workshop. On the way home I stopped at the store and bought three pairs of pants in a smaller size.

This is a bouquet of flowers for all of you who are in pain--:flowerforyou: Marie :flowerforyou: Biggramma :flowerforyou: Gayla Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a return to activity.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, bringing our own food was scary at first. One thing that helped me was meeting other people who did the same thing. We are fortunate that we don't have family nearby so we don't have a bunch of obligatory family gatherings. I remember the first time we traveled to Ohio to visit Jake's family when we were newly married.. It seemed to me that their meals were primarily fried chicken, potato salad, and cream pies. they would be a challenge for me now. I hope your day at the casino is wonderful.

:flowerforyou: Ellen, we started planning our meals before we started MFP. At first it was just general planning. With the help of MFP we started getting more exact about what we eat. It helps me to know in advance how many calories are in my day ahead of time in case I need to adjust (add or subtract food). having it all logged in the food diary tells me what the big calorie items are so I can consider not eating them again and substituting something with better nutrition for fewer calories. We took baby steps to get where we are.

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey---that is very cool about your blood pressure. I read so much about how losing weight and getting fit is the best way to improve your health and you are evidence of that.

We are almost packed.....just a few more things to do in the morning.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Day's test have all been fine. No issues! Whoo Hoo! I have been working on the job thing and I may be getting a little closer to something ( I hope so!). I have been working in the yard, flowers, and garden along with the household stuff and running around like a mad man! The workouts have been good and solid. Plyometrics today, that is a calorie burner! My weight is holding but I lost another 1/2 inch on the waist, so that was good.

The kids are good but I am sure missing them. I think that our sister in law may come to stay with us for few days soon. More on that later. Right now I am doing battle with the chipmunks and trying to keep them out of the garage. We had a coyote real close the other day, but I could not get a clear shot. Anyway I am watching for him too.

Marie- sounds like you are feeling better! Glad to see that!

Elli- Did the storms miss you?

Jake- stay out of the wet stuff!

    Barbie- How did you do?

Ellen- Hang in there, it can be a long path but worth it. Mine was a long time coming. You can do it! Just stay after it.

BG- Good to see you here more. Anything new?

Gayla- How is the back doing?

Sandy- I could not keep up with you!

    Beth- What's up with you?

Anyone else that I missed- I will catch up with you later on!

    Have a great Tuesday!

Oh Jeffrey, I am so happy for Day, it must have been a long wait for her test results but I hope she in finally relaxed as I hope you are. :flowerforyou: The casino was great, I didn't win but didn't lose that much.

Ellen, how do you like the Wii? I love mine along with the other machines I do. I know I am losing inches even though my tape measure doesn't show me that. I must be measuring wrong because I can see it in my clothes and the way they fit.

Marie, when is the next surgery, you are still in my prayers.

Hope Elli is okay haven't heard from her in a while. I hope she checks in with us soon.

Barbie and Jake, on the road again? I wish my husband would travel but he just hates it. We heard from the breeder today and we should be getting "Daisy" the middle of July.

Hope all those back problems are getting better and you can start enjoying life at it's fullest.

    Have a good evening.

I am on my way to bed but wanted to share some good news for a change!!! I had physio today and told her that since Saturday the back has been feeling a little better. It still feels like a toothache but perhaps not an abcess! She worked on the back and the butt. She said the butt is still quite tight (isn't that what we aim for??) and finally the vertebra seem to have a bit of movement. She said that if there is this much improvement again on Friday we will start some exercises! This feeling of doom and gloom has lifted and I see a brighter tomorrow.

Jeffrey -- so glad for Day's test results looking good.

Sandy -- Glad you had fun and didn't lose all your money!!

Barbie -- Have a wonderful trip!

I will catch up with more of you next time.
Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

    Happy Wednesday!

Not a lot going on here. Cold and kind of rainy. Darn rabbits in the garden today. I think the animals are winning. I have to mow today and fix a commode in the upstairs master bath. It does the water running thing, bad seal. So that will be my challenge for the day.

Sandy- Have you guys been the crappy weather we are getting? Glad to hear that you enjoyed New Buffalo. Did you know that there is another new one opening up by Battle Creek, MI? Fire Keepers is the name of it. It is going to be a big one! It looks a lot like New Buffalo. It is going to open in August.

Gayla- Glad to hear your back is feeling better. Hang in there kid! It will get better!

Everyone else- Where you all at???

    Sandy

Good Morning, beautiful day here. Sunshine. Have to hurry and get outside before it gets too hot.

Sandy, my WI is weigh in day. Some of our kids have an exercise mat with music, which would be similar to yours I guess. We get most of our exercise walking.

Jeffery, thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm back under 200 this am so that feels good, and I hope I never see those terrible 2's again whatever it takes.

Gayla, happy to hear of the back progress.

Marie, are you able to go for walks these days?

Meant to mention, the swan pic is from Bend OR from when we came through there a couple of weeks ago. It lives on the river at the motel we stayed at. It's been there for years now, but has recently lost it's mate. They are such graceful birds.

    Have a good day all.

All is well with me, 2 days of work coming up starting in an hour, and then Friday I am at a First Aid course all day. Hopefully I can get some shorecasting on Saturday. Maybe catch me a trout or a kokanee (land lock salmon) It's been cold and rainy here in Southern British Columbia.
I always check to see what everyone, especially you, has written Marie, but mostly I just log in my food and excercise and play those silly games that I like.
I went to the gym yesterday, first time in maybe 2 years. Felt good but I ate so much for the rest of the day. Really got into the cheese, it was like I left my body and someone else was putting it on crackers and shovelling it in my mouth. Oh well. Old habits die hard. It had been a long time since I had cheese. Anyhooooooo
    Have a great day everyone.

chowhound, Cheese is one of my faverite food. I seen on another site that you can take a slice of cheese like pepper Jack cut it into 4 pieces and micro, [ Br sure to used parchment paper] it for 1 minute or maybe a few seconds more and It makes a wonderful Cheese crakers. I think I will do one tonight if I have any calories left. Marie

Today is Marisa's 4th Birthday, we went to some place where they have jumpies and there were a lot of kids there. I took the video but did not participate in the jumping or sliding.

My daughter and her family should be arriving any minute from Minnesota. They will have dinner with us then head downtown Chicago to stay at her Aunt's condo. They will do some site seeing Thursday and Friday and return here Saturday morning. They have plans constantly but will sleep here Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I will have a little family barbecue on Sunday so she can see her brothers who live here.

Monday is the big benefit for MCCD (midwest council for children with disabilities) which means I will have Marisa over the next 5 days so her mom can get all the auction items done for the banquet. In other words I have a busy week ahead of me and still hope to get some exercise done. I am pretty good with my calories is it automatic for me now. :blushing:

I will try to stay in touch as much as I can but remember you are all in my thoughts and I encourage all of you to keep up with the program. It works and I know it because finally people are telling me they notice my weight loss.

Have a good day and stay in touch.

    Hi Everyone!

I have a question for the group. Does anyone have a list of times for dehydrating herbs? I am starting to get a lot of sage and cilantro (corriander), and I want to dry some for this winters cooking. I just got a new dehydrator and it did not have any times for herbs. I would image it would only take a few hours but I have no experience with herbs. Anyway, your suggestions would be appreciated!

Sandy- Congrats on the loss! Keep going!

Marie- How is the leg doing?

Chowhound- nice to see you here! Keep on working it, it will happen!

Everyone else- Talk to you later!

Thanks Marie! I may start just playing around with the time in the dehydrator and see what I can figure out. I need to get some containers (cheap) to store the dried herbs (seasonings) in, they should be air and water tight. Any suggestions on those?

    Thanks!
