5'3", 116 lbs, I eat around 2200 calories a day, and I eat my exercise calories. Ratios are 50/30/20 protein/carb/fat. Maintaining my weight at this level.0

1200 daily calories...I WAS NOT eating back my burn (cardio 3 - 4 x week, 60 min each) and only lost two pounds in the first month or so. It was discouraging that the scale wasn't moving, but I felt better and my clothes fit a little better. This past week, I decided to eat back my burn and lost three pounds so far this week! So, I WILL be eating back most of my burn if not all! I'll just need to plan my daily menu (eat more during the day) since most of my workouts are in the evening and I don't plan on cramming in 300 - 500 calories before every night!0

I had to speak up for all of us women who are eating more I am 5'9", maintaining 125 pounds, and eating about 2000 calories a day. I always try to eat back my burn calories!!0

my goal is usually 1500 or so calories right now and I usually eat most of the calories I've burned with a little bit left over. Mostly since I just don't like to eat a lot.0

I'm 43, 244lbs and have a daily calorie goal of 1300. Sometimes I eat back my exercise calories, sometimes I don't...it depends how hungry I am, or whether I fancy a treat.0

I am 5'8 and 183 lbs. I have my weight loss set to 1 lb a week at lightly active (I run a home daycare and still breastfeeding a couple times a day) my calorie goal is 1680. I usually zig-zag my calories anywhere from 1480-2180 and I usually eat back most of my exercise calories. I have been steadily losing 2 pounds a week. Not sure how because sometimes I seriously think from how much I'm eating I would have ended up not losing anything. However it's working so that's how I'm going to keep doing it. The lowest I've ever net in a day was 1380 cals. and that was HARD for me. I had to go to bed early because I was so hungry.0

I am 46 and in maintenance(115-117). I do a week example like this:

I do eat ex cals back-it may vary by a few depending-but, about this range. works for me. I lift weights 3 x a week and cardio 3-4.0 -

27, 5'10", 184 pounds. My goal is set to 1590 kC to lose 1 pound a week, but I'm really netting between 1200 and 1500 as I'm trying to lose more than 1 pound a week right now. I eat back some of my exercise calories.0

My recommended calories for the day are 1310.
I eat back my burn on the weekends...lol0 -
Goal of 1350. Eat back everything I burn (~400-500 cals/day). Lost 1.4-2 lbs per week. I am prego now so I have stopped dieting but that is what I WAS doing.0

I am 5'8
Starting i was 154 lbs
Currently I am at 140 lbs
my current calorie intake is 1200, typically I burn 400-600 calories a day and I eat very little back typically.
If I skip the gym a few days i'll eat anywhere between 1200-1400 and I am still able to maintain.0 -
I aim too eat what MFP tells me to eat. There is no set calorie for everyone this is why MFP has a profile questionnaire to fine what you should eat based on activity level, weight, height and how much you'd like to reasonably lose a week. You have to eat what YOUR body needs not what everyone else is doing.
Currently MFP shows my calorie goal at 1630. If I earn a lot of exercise calories I tend to eat them if I'm hungry. I shoot for about half my exercise calories but wouldn't shove them down if I wasn't hungry either.0 -
I eat 1800 calories per day on non-workout days and at least 2000 on workout days (usually bet 2000-2500). I eat 40% carb, 30% prot and 30% fat and no less than 30gr fiber per day. I have been eating this way for now 8wks and have lost an inch off my waist and a solid 6lbs of serious fat while gaining muscles. I used to eat 1200, then went up to 1350 and just wasn't loosing any weight....and was way more fatty looking. I then tried 1500 and bounced around the same 3lbs for over 6 months. Then read New Rules of Lifting for Women and it changed my life. I decided to start eating what was calculated as my maintenance calories, but that is just what my body needed because I immediately starting loosing weight. I workout hard, lift heavy, never feel hungry, stopped carb binging and just overall feel great. I also have a cheat day where I don't worry about ratios or calories. So no more starving myself, I EAT, and I am LOOSING WEIGHT and am leaning out very nicely. I am five pounds from goal and I know I will be there in a few weeks.0

I eat weekly rather than daily. Because I'm a spiker - my daily calorie intake can be anything between 1300 and 4000.
I go for an absolute max 14k per week. Means I'm getting a loss of approx 1lb. Most of the time I don't eat anywhere near that number, usually settling around the 12.5k/13k. And I try to get in roughly 2-3 days of exercise.0 -
Between 1800 - 2200. Most of the time over 2000. Losing nicely!!0
-
I am 5ft 6 have about 50lbs to lose and i try never to eat less than 1400 calories regardless of exercise. I never want to put my body in starvation mode. I also follow a Clean Eating Diet. Which has made all the difference.0
-
I tend to eat around 1900 a day give or take 50 or so but I burn around 800 a day giving me a net of 1200, I do this 5 days a week and don't count calories on Sat/Sun however I still try and stay healthy on Sat/Sun just not calorie counting. I reckon my Sat/Sun average is probably about 2500 a day but again I burn 600 or so doing cardio.
I am 5'10" male currently I weight 178lbs but that is down from 185lbs 3 weeks ago. The aim is to hit 168 lbs.0 -
I was netting 2000 calories a day and losing about a half pound a week, so yeah, eating exercise calories.
Now I'm kind of trying to maintain but not really trying to hard (eating more, often) and I'm not sure what my maintenance level is...
This is similar to my situation. I'm netting about 1800, sometimes more, sometimes less. Trying to figure out my maintenance level as well. I'm a few pounds below my goal weight, so I'm okay with gaining, but aiming for muscle (obviously).0 -
Apparently not enough. (Go easy on me - it's still week 1!) I'm so used to doing weight watchers that I don't know where I should be. I know what my calories converted to (approximately) there, but from what I'm seeing, I need to be eating more. And I wasn't a regular exerciser then, and I am now (5 days on average. 0-1 on average before), but I just completed my first month of that much activity.
I am not trying to starve myself...I stop eating when I'm full, and I try to eat pretty healthy 85% of the time. But MFP says I'm 3,172 net calories under my weekly goal. Oops. It's 'easy' this week because I've been at home all week, cooking. I am normally traveling 3-4 days of the week. Much harder when I'm eating out every meal!
But to answer the question, my target is 1500 calories. I'll eat back my exercise calories if I'm hungry. I'll try to at least some of them today because I had a big burn (nearly 700 calories). But I've tracked everything today, and it says I'm only netting 1075. :frown: So I guess I better eat some more at some point! Maybe 2 turkey burgers for dinner!0 -

To get an answer to this question, I suggest you start a new thread with this topic, but change your diary settings first:
