Hiya.. I have to restock my fridge/pantry with good foods. I'm wondering what are the staple healthy things that you always buy or must always have in your fridge/pantry to keep you on track. :) Thanks.

Bananas, almond butter, kale, salad greens, other various fruits and vegetables; like cucumber, carrots, celery, oranges, apples & pears... whole or steel cut oats, brown rice, tofu, greek yogurt, raw honey! I eat most of those things daily and would be hard pressed to stay on track without some of them.

I'm on the greek yogurt bandwagon - fage is the brand i love. Fruits and veggies of course. Nuts so i can satisfy a need for a little crunch in my oatmeal etc...lots of leafy greens, crab and shrimp, laughing cow cheese (processed junk but fills the need for cheese - i'm addicted to cheese lol), string cheese, hot sauce (for zip), hummus, corn tortillas (i can have two for 110 cals when i need a breadlike item), protien drinks (i find it hard to get in enough protien) and bars for when i don't have time for bfast (i do premier drinks from costco and think thin bars from trader joe's, both lower in sugar and fat than most), oatmeal (cook a pot and you'll have breakfast for the next few days), beans, chicken, egg beaters for scrambles....yep, that's the gist.
  • Low fat-cottage cheese
    Sabra garlic roasted hummus
Silk almond milk (or almond breeze brand)
Stonyfield greek yogurt: Plain (for smoothies), honey and blueberry (for just eating)
    Great value frozen fruit
    bananas
    wheat thin garden veggie crisps
    portabello mushrooms
    white button mushrooms
    Almonds (unsalted, natural)
    chicken breast
  • Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter
Birds Eye Fozen Vegetables in the giant bag (Normandy or California Blend)
    Boneless Chicken Breasts

Two different kinds of fresh fruit, usually apples and oranges but not always
    Old Fashioned Oats
    Yogurt..all kinds
Grape Nuts (to mix into my yogurt)
Red Beans or Great Northern Beans (dried) to cook with a little ham
    Rice
    Individually packaged nuts
    Cottage Cheese

Mine are eggs, skimmed milk, flavoured water and oranges (which I have to go out tomorrow to buy more of, because I more often than not eat four per day LOL)

If you like cheese, may I suggest Ile De France Brie Bites. You can find them in the Safeway deli department where they have the imported cheeses. They come in individual little containers and are real mini-bries with the "brie rind" and all. They are delish and only 70 calories. A tad expensive though. I think they were about $5.99 for a package of 5. Well worth it for a very special weekly treat!
