    Basically, what I've found is dont have an opinion on anything in the forums or you will get torn to shreds.

    Sucks but I've seen it happen to heaps of people, myself included.

    Much of the hostility comes from people asking the same questions over and over and over (despite their being newbie links that answer these questions) or they ask the question but with their own opinion of what the answer should be (ie. asking why to eat exercise calories back when they are already set in stone that they don't need to eat them back).

    Also, being up on a soapbox or acting like a health freak will annoy the masses. For example, posting an article on why pop is bad for you. Ok, this is not breaking news, we all know its bad for us, we don't need it to be shoved in our faces by people that feel they are now superior to others because they have seen the light. I gave up pop for lent, I feel amazing without it.....but I do still love it and will never try to get a bunch of strangers on the internet to give it up.

    lol at this topic. People are so defensive, love it. As an opinionated and feisty young lady I feel it's my duty to throw in my two pennies.

    Everyones a snob, even if they don't act it to everyone else. Everyone thinks they're better than someone at something or that they deserve more of something than someone else. Some people bottle up these opinions and pretend everyone is equal and lovely and that they should all hug puppies and be happy. People with issues use these inevitable opinions as a sort of defence against what they perceive as negativity. Everyone lucky enough to have access to the internet has at least one society invoked personal issue and there is only so much puppy hugging you can do before it becomes tedious... eventually..... uja wudja cute widdle ickly puppy cutey ujy wudge!!

    To sum up, everyone sucks, and everyone is lovely, no one is sucky or lovely all of the time. Tis why we're so much more interesting to study than most animals. I'm done now, rant over, if you made it this far, well done and thanks for listening. ^^

    p.s I didn't read all the posts, just a couple of pages, I saw something shiny and got distracted. So I realise there are a lot of different perspectives and opinions flying around in this topic that my little rant probably didn't take in to account. But that's all it is, a little rant, all mine, not meant to change the universe in any way. x

    I agree with this. It is frustrating to see the same questions over and over in the boards!

    Here are some examples of topics I see nearly every day

    - I am netting under 1200 calories a day, is this okay?
    - Should I eat my exercise calories
    - Can I have a cheat meal/day
    - It's been a week and I haven't lost a pound! What am I doing wrong
    - Can I eat carbs at night/what time should I stop eating
    - Has anyone tried <insert fad diet/cleanse or detox diet here>?
    - is <insert food such as eggs/cheese/dairy> okay to eat?
