The scale is a lying torture device! I'm proof :)

Hello everyone!
Upon urging from a few of my MFPs here, I'm posting the below picture. The photo on the left is from Jan 1st when I weighed 202lbs - the photo on the right is from this morning when I weighed 203lbs. Since January, I've done P90X and I'm finishing up month 1 of Insanity.
Just goes to show your body can change and the scale won't show it ONE BIT. If I didn't take photos and measurements, I would surely be insane by now.
IGNORE THE TORTURE DEVICE aka the scale!!

Oh how awesome!
I really needed to see something like this because my scale has stopped moving.
Thanks for sharing!0 -
Wow, I needed that. I've been relying on the scale WAY too much!
You look fantastic0 -
Thank you!!
annahiven - my scale stopped moving last October, but my body has continued to change. It doesn't keep me from stepping on the scale - but it does help me keep in check that the scale isn't the ONLY way to measure progress. Inches and photos are much much better in my opinion!0 -
I'm so glad you posted this!! I recently started P90X and I have been wondering how much my body will change, even if the scale doesn't. (Because of the new muscles I am building) Thanks for posting! And you look great!0

Thanks so much! Now that I've solidified this realization, perhaps I will ignore the scale for a bit and focus on photos/measurements only0

-

That is absolutely incredible! You look amazing. Congratulations.0

Thank you!!! I can see my clothes fitting better, people tell me I have lost weight, and the F@#$%^&*&^%$ scale does not want to move much. Just seeing how someone else can change their body but not the scale really is a huge psychological boost. You did a great thing for a lot of people by putting that out there today. Thank you!!0

Strength training really does make all the difference in the world. Since upping my strength training I've lost a crap-ton of inches, but very little in terms of weight. I've since put my scale away. I weigh-in once a week now instead of obsessing over my weight 1-2 times a day!0

WHOOPS! Forgot to say how great you look. You have made remarkable progress!! You ought to be extremely proud of yourself. Great Great Work!!!0

AWESOME!!!!! the scale indeed lies. I've had a similar experience, but no pics as amazing as yours !!! AWESOME job! Keep spreading the word that changing our bodies isn't just about a number on the scale0

you read my mind - I've been a daily weigher for as long as I can remember and just recently figured out the torture device was deciding my mood in the morning and that just wasn't going to cut it. I'm making progress whether it wants to admit it or not...but I can't help but check it because I want to see the dang 100s again, haha0 -
WOAH! :noway: Now that's just amazing.0

I have come off the wagon so many times because the scales made me depressed "what's the point?" "I don't get anywhere" and "all that work for nothing" - once after 18 months and going down 2 dress sizes I still through in the towel because the scales said I had only lost 6 kg. So, I am TRYING to ignore them and your post is a fantastic help. Congratulations!0
